    8 MMs on a team?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
i once saw someone 6 boxing 6 clones of a thugs/dark mm with stacked leadership, it was insane, he did an AE farm mish but instead of bosses, he was farming AV's

    [/ QUOTE ]

Poor guy, must've taken a while to kill 'em.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe, but he could have just gone out for a bite to eat while all those pets destroyed the opposition, came back, started the next fight, taken a nap, etc.

8 MM ITF. The second video. The LRSF has been done with 8 MMs as well.

    I am soooo there.

$10 for a slice of pizza and an energy drink is highway robbery!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I did say or 2 about the energy drinks, and thats what I usually grab and have both downed by the middle of my next class. Plus this is in college, what do you expect?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Cheap food and a 1.3x markup over standard MSRP in the bookstore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Exactly, a slice of pizza and 2 energy = about $10

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thick or thin crust? I could totally see paying that for thick crust.

And what size energy drinks? The XL size ones are about $3.5-$5 each so that could account for a sizeable sum of it. But a little Redbull? Nah, ripoff.

Do you think they'd be welcome at the card-table?

    [/ QUOTE ]

They're bringing money and don't know how to play?

    Uh, yeah, they'd be welcomed.

That probably wasn't the best analogy for you to use.

As part of his experiment, Myers decided to play the game by the designers' rules -- disregarding any customs set by the players. His character soon became very unpopular.

They ran into some Hellions, but Flame told her sister to just mash the 1-2-3-4 keys until they were defeated.

I'd like everyone who says this game is too hard to please read this.
  7. [ QUOTE ]

The Hero Rule(TM) of suspension of disbelief doesn't extend to NPCs like Cimeroran Traitors. This isn't their adventure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh come on. They aren't THAT tough! You're talking like they're serious threats or something.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
How about if you don't do IO's at all, and use the game like it was initially designed? The game can be much more challenging then.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, definitely not "much more". Maybe a little more. Very little more. I've already gone to 50 before IOs were out, it really wasn't all THAT different.

Besides making IO sets is fun!

After seeing this quote from Back Alley Brawler it made me think:

    [ QUOTE ]
The infamous knockout blow animation wasn't even something that I animated, so I have no attachment to it and don't feel any need to defend it's quality. I happen to like it, I know plenty of others do as well, and I know a great deal of people who don't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So if I recall correctly:

Geko = Original powers guy before Castle, or did Castle exist with him back then too?

Statesman = Original lead designer, passed mantle to Positron.

Original powers animator guy = ???

Gilgamesh = ??? Was he just NC Soft or a designer?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You also have

Lord Recluse = David "Zeb" Cooke who was lead designer for City of Villains when it was released. He's also the guy who designed Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition.

Captain Mako = "Savage" Shane Hensley who was the lead writer for CoV. He's also the guy in charge of Pinnacle Entertainment Group (aka Great White Games) which released such infamous PnP titles as Deadlands and Savage Worlds. He's allegedly working on a Deadlands MMO as studio head of "Superstition Studios". This is part of the financially turbulent Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment group of studios, which if it has the luck of previous attempts to bring Deadlands to the electronic age will die on the vine but not before threatening to actually launch and be really cool.

    (QR)

I've gotten used to just calling it City of Heroes. Nobody knows what CoH stands for. And not that many people I've talked to have even heard of the game.

    You folks should advertise more.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Has anyone ever seen an ad for this game anywhere on tv?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tv? What's that? Is that like the phonograph or something?

  11. [ QUOTE ]

I'd love to see more *variety* to the game's xp earning schema, but what I wouldn't want to see is a series of buff-nerf-buff-nerf tweaks to our characters AGAIN, just because some few people find the "challenge" lacking.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd prefer to see new challenge levels beyond 5 added, rather than any inherent change to the game mechanics.
  12. [ QUOTE ]

Doesn't mean you can't team but always playing with the "perfect" team build makes the game a lot easier. Try a team of 8 stalkers and you won't be knocking around groups of level 54 Bosses easily .

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you have stalkers who have a clue, you certainly should be. The boss shouldn't stand a chance.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    Fight Malta.

    End of story.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't really find malta all that challenging. The worst thing they have are the sappers, but all you need to do with those is mez, or knockdown, or whatever until you kill them in the 2-3 hits it takes to down them. And if they DO get a sap off on you, just pop a few blues until your recovery kicks back in. You have a giant tray of Insps by now, so you can spare a column for blues.

Co-op is not overdone, and there are only two Co-op zones/TFs in this game.

If anything I WANT SUM MO, I WANT SUM MO!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm actually kinda tired of heroes and villains being all chummy. I'd like to see things where we have PVE vs PVE, much like the battle zones in Siren's Call, but not necessarily PVP. Task forces that counter each other (via Oroborous for example) as villains do X and Heroes try to undo it, giving nice rewards to wresting control from one side or the other.

I want to see COMPETITIVE zones. It can't be that hard to do without resorting to lolpvp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A very cool idea! I nominate Boomtown for the PvE Competitive Zone!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I second the nomination!
    Get on it, devs!

This would be extremely interesting to see and take part in; I would totally be there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Competitive raid. Villains trying to bust Recluse out of the Zigg following the STF, and heroes trying to stop them. Part of it involves summoning the signature heroes or villains to tip the scale. Optional PvP element in the "middle" where the raids overlap that can help tip the scale but isn't required or crucial. Generous rewards to draw people in. Hero or villain side can start it, but rewards go up depending on how many opponent players participate on the other side. Lesser rewards are assured just for taking part.

    .

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like this idea. I'd be completely on board with that. There's so many forms this sort of thing could take. PVPVE like the above is one idea.

    [ QUOTE ]
No, I want competition, not a fight. I don't know what's so hard to understand about that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think he might mean something like SC or RV, where the ultimate objective is to control some outside objective.

For example, the TF involves trying to gain control of an "Item of Power". Heroes have their version of the TF that, if successful awards a control point for blueside. Villains have the the same for redside. Each alignment will compete to see who can successfully control the MacGuffin for the cause of Good or Evil. I would assume that the MacGuffin would somehow provide temp powers or buffs to the players of the controlling alignment, but that's getting ahead of myself.

That's what I see Smurch means as a "competitive TF"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Something along those lines, yes. Something that encourages a back-and-forth struggle between either side. Indirect conflict, if you like. Action-reaction. That sort of thing. The TF example is a very simplistic one, but it's pretty spot on for as far as it goes.

Something to give more of a Good vs Evil feel to the gameplay. Heroes and Villains cooperating sometimes is fine, but sometimes we should also be competing.

Put in an option for us villains to start all of those doomsday plots and I might have an evilgasm!

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would actually be a REALLY good idea. We already have it inplace where doing a taskforce triggers an invasion. Why not expand it and have a villain taskforce where the target is to start their own "doomsday" device.

Launch the missile at the end of the taskforce results in mutated enemies heroside as a straight forward/easy example.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like it. I like it alot.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
That's not ironic, it's just coincidental.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think it even qualifies as coincidental.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Oh I take it back. You're not CEOs, you're consumers! They're always wanting you to do something and somehow not do that same thing, at the same time.

I'm suddenly reminded of those commercials which I only vaguely remember, where this woman wanted a sandwich with bread that was toasted, but not toasted, or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your lack of imagination is not a failing on my part.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
You want players to compete against each other, so that it's one player versus another player, ergo player versus player, but you want it to somehow not be PvP?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, I want competition, not a fight. I don't know what's so hard to understand about that.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
The only one of those that isn't already in game is the meteorite shower. I know for a fact that, blueside, you actually stop a couple superpowered viruses/diseases (one of which is actually nanites).

Personally, I'd like to face a few more doomsday organizations rather than doomsday situations. Rather than fighting one really strong person trying to bring about the end of the world or another single really strong person trying to take it over, I'd love to see more stuff involving a large number of reasonably strong (re: EB rather than AB) level entities that you've got to fight at once before they can shatter reality or somesuch.

Of course, something involving Rularuu and the Shadow Shard would make it even better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think it'd be better if Villain players can do an event to start a Doomsday Scenario, which would then launch in a hero zone somewhere out in the world, which the heroes in that zone would need to stop. Player-driven events! Villains do Evil Stuff, heroes stop it. Everyone is happy
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Could it be a new class of giant monster causing havoc?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes.

    [ QUOTE ]
    A meteorite shower?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes.

    [ QUOTE ]
    A doomsday device?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh gawd yes!

    [ QUOTE ]
    A superpowered virus?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Meh... yeah ok.

    [ QUOTE ]
For me personally i'ld love to have an event ingame that saw multiple "end of the world" scenarios happening at the same with us having to decide which one to help stop.

    This as an example:

Giant monster attack the hospital - Helping save it grants a temporay power that gives you a slight boost to regeneration/recovery.
Meteorite shower - fly up into the sky and stop them from hitting the ground. Defeating x number of meteorites grants a temp summon power "summon mini shivan" as your pet. Attributes are that of a underling.

    Share your ideas

    5) Melee Centric: Did you know that Arachnos Soldiers are weak to melee? Cimerorans tear my Bane Spider character up, even on lowest difficulty settings. The stacking -def(all) from all those spammed Broadsword attacks makes Cimeroran Traitors just about the only enemies that threaten my bots/FF mastermind, too. Let me guess: you're a tank with a resistance-based primary?

    [/ QUOTE ]

My bots/ff mastermind can steamroll Cimerorans on Ruthless.

    6) Enemies that are "just right"? Are you including that one spawn of 8 overlapping elite bosses? Or the long path going up the hill that tends to drop three spawns on you at a time

Or that cave where every 3rd spawn is a team-wiping Nictus crystal.

Tactics Tip: don't stand next to the crystal when it's almost destroyed. Move outside melee range and have the ranged characters finish it off. No one dies.
