Could you repost that in English?

That Aura mission CoV side is definitely tough. It's the first time you run into Succubi for most characters.

I do like the "defeat a hero and steal their cape". It feels like a rite of passage, which is what it is supposed to be.
  3. What does any of this have to do with why Redside is more fun?

Can't you take your tired moralizing and sophmoric arguing over moral relativism vs absolutism to some more relevant thread?

Lets talk about how much fun Redside is!

I spend less than that. I generally visit the market during the last 15-20 minutes of my session to list things I want to sell, bid on what I want to buy and collect my money from the last time I did that. It's pretty quick and easy and I'm pretty happy with my results.

Well that rules out windows being the problem, anyways. You have a hardware issue. Try another keyboard first, preferably a USB one (unless you're using USB, then go with the PS/2 style connector so you're not using the same serial bus).

Ah, I'll just leave a buy order in for 15 INF for a circuit board before I log out. By the time I log back in the next day, the market will have corrected, and the CB will be mine cheap.

Marketeers prey on impatience. As long as you aren't all "MUST HAVE IT NAO!" you don't have to pay terribly unaffordable prices for much of anything.

I do about 15 minutes on the market at the end of each play session. It's not uncommon for me to be walking around with a few 100 million in INF just from market profits. From 15 minutes every few days. It ain't that hard.

Longbow Ballistas - it's like chipping at a boulder with a dinner fork while the boulder shoots you point blank in the face with bazookas.

Not Rikti. My /electric Brute pretty much lives in the RWZ and the Rikti can't even really touch him. I'm running as an 8 man team, too.

    ELA is Rikti-Proofing!

I don't recall it being tissue paper outside the RWZ, but it's been a long time since I've played him in anything but, so I can definitely state that ELA is, at the least, awesome vs. Rikti.

Depends on how we're classifying the tomato: botanically or culinarily (is that a word)? Botanically speaking, tomato is a berry and thus a fruit, but from a culinary classification, it's a vegetable, as it is more savory than a fruit.

So it depends on which method of classification you're using.

    as in..

American Maid: I've gotta hand it to you Tick, you've really dropped the ball this time.

Which means being stuck fighting +0 x1 missions. Which means slower levelling. I play odd hours these days, thanks to the Uni nets firewall settings and my own workload. I have plenty of SGs. All of them are RP and, when people have been on a lot of the day, evening tends to be a bit more sedate. Which leaves me in the rut.
Yup, this. I like below 14, I like above 20, but I truly hate those levels in between.

I was just going to suggest this. Fire up notepad first before launching the game client. Alt-Tab may work then. It's an odd bug, but it's not unique to vista, I've seen it before. Having another app running (like notepad) should work.

    Got it.

Glad we got that lurking double standard that's been dominating this thread right out in the open.

And I'd rather not have your QoL suggestion. We've got too many pop-up boxes cluttering things in the game as it is.
Neither suggestion had anything to do with a popup box. I never suggested a popup box and never would.

My suggestions are being able to right click a buff icon and choose "remove buff" from the context menu, or an item in the Options Menu that was "Allow only team buffs" that we can set to "Enabled" if we don't want buffs from outside our team (that would be disabled by default).

Yes, I can obviously take pains to compensate for the fact that someone has come by and screwed with my game. That doesn't make the situation any less annoying.

Just pointing out your whole "You're so evil for trying to help me, you should be able to read my mind, don't you dare ever do anything nice for anybody without ten forms of signed, notarized permission for each instance" is ridiculous.

A buff lasts at most four minutes. They haven't altered the entire zone. They haven't changed your character into something else. They're *trying to be nice.* Perhaps someone else did something similar for them and they're repaying the favor by doing it to others. It's not a conspiracy against you, or the OP. It's not someone trying to "ruin your fun.* It's someone doing something nice.
Please go back and re-read my posts where I said that I understood they're trying to be helpful. Do not continue to post to me until you have actually read what I wrote and you are sure you aren't reading something that isn't actually there and responding to things I never said.

You *have* had people just do things for you "just because," haven't you? Give you something you'd like even when it's not a holiday or your birthday, for instance? Given your stance in this thread, I'd have to seriously wonder. As well as wonder what your reaction had been if it DID happen.
But this is a game. Playing the game is the entire point. If someone tries to PLAY THE GAME FOR ME, they're not doing something nice even if they think they are. They're getting in my way. It's like a backseat driver in a car: they're trying to help you, at least in their minds they are. But when you're the one driving, they're a pain in the neck. You can realize they're trying to help but they're NOT HELPING. They're just annoying you.

The fact that you're trying to use this thread about a particular situation in a video game to make broad assumptions about me in the real world is extremely disingenuous on your part.

Using your own logic, why shouldn't you appreciate these drive-by buffs, as once they wear off you'll have a comparatively harder time (and apparently, by your definition, a comparatively greater challenge)?
    This is nonsense.

As it stands, you're probably not hit with these buffs more than a few times per play session
I'm gonna say what I think about the subject in a thread started about the subject. If you have a problem with that, then that's your problem, but you're definitely not going to make me go "oh you're right I really DO like drive by buffs!"

And it happens often enough that I felt it necessary to create a macro to send a request to the buffer to please not do that anymore.

    Quote:
Really, your options are to either go hide in a corner of the zone to do your hunting, quit complaining when people buff you and kill stuff anyways, or just stop entirely and get no fun out of the situation. It's what you make of it, nothing more, nothing less.
I've already explained my OPTION in this thread twice.

However, this is a discussion thread SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THIS SUBJECT. I'm saying my piece about it. That offends you for some reason, maybe because you have a vested interest in this and think that doing drive by buffing makes you a Good Person (tm) or something and so you perceive my opinion as an attack on your ethical standing or something. I don't know, but just accept that we're not going to agree on this issue and that's all there is to it.

All I'm saying is: Drive by buffs, don't like 'em. Never have. Never will. I'd really like it if the devs gave us a QoL option to be able to remove buffs we don't want or to turn off accepting buffs from people not on our team.

Until if/when that happens, I'll continue to ask people politely not to drive by buff me when it happens in the game, and if someone starts a topic about it in the forums, I might participate if I wish to have a little catharsis and join in on a merry rant that helps to vent that pent up annoyance so that my requests in-game can continue to be polite.

I hope that's ok with you.

Playing the game is the point to, well, playing the game. If I am engaged in a task that has a good level of challenge that makes it fun for me, and someone mitigates that challenge, they've reduced my fun. A victory without the chance of defeat is a hollow one.

What possible fun is there in that if there is no challenge?

Coverting that back to the in-game equivalent: If I walked up to an NPC to get a mission and they said "Hey CHARACTER, OtherGuy already did this mission for you! Here's the XP and Inf. You don't have to actually do the mission", yeah I'd be pretty P-O'd about that.

Just as an experiment, maybe you can try not thinking of them as trying to insult you or put you down and rather as just helping from the goodness of their heart. If you change your worldview, maybe the world won't seem like such a foreboding place.
    Thats not the case here.

I understand that they're trying to help. It's not that I misunderstand their intentions, they're misunderstanding MINE, that while I realize they're trying to help, they are actually being a nuisance because I play games to be challenged. If you remove all the challenge for me, my victory is empty and the game ceases to be fun.

Which is why when they do it, the message they get from me is a polite "Please don't do that. Thanks.". Most people seem ok with that.

If you want to play WITH me rather than try to play FOR me, then lets team up and look for BIGGER challenges that we can do together. That'd be great! I'm totally up for that. But don't just jump into my fight, adjust it to your satisfaction, then leave. It's a nuisance and will elicit a heavy sigh from me and a polite request not to do that any more.
