Quote:Exactly. I was one of the original people who petitioned NCSoft to provide EU servers way back when, partly for this very reason.Going to point out that when I and most other EU players bought the game it not only had it's own forums but EU GM staffing, heck it had an entire office here in Brighton in the England.
Also when we bought it, it had EU specific maintenance times.
It hasn't always been the case of getting updates on US times only, only the really big updates would have this kind of stuff happen since they needed to wait for the Devs to get into the office in the moring before they'd roll out the new Issue just incase
We had EU friendly maintenance periods and Bridger (anyone remember Bridger?).
The game has become more US centric over time and now with the server merge we will also likely lose our global names.
While arguably unavoidable, none of these things are exactly going to encourage the EU community to feel they are loved by the devs. -

Another 90 minutes without an update. Come on, it's not rocket science!
-
An hour for the servers to have a smoke?
Come on! What are they smoking? Foot long cubans!?! -
OK, 40 minutes since they said the servers would be back ASAP. Come on people, this stopped being funny hours ago!
Give me my hero fix! I'm getting withdrawal symptoms :S -
-
Yes, maintenance in US time frames, especially when extended unexpectedly, impacts heavily on EU players. Not on. We don't expect to be treated like inferior subscribers. This kind of thing will really annoy the EU population.

OK, it's been an hour or so since the last update from the devs regarding what's going on. I don't think an update once an hour under these circumstances is too much to ask for.
Come on dev's, give us an update and ETA!!!
Those of us in EU are losing all prime play time!!! -
I am by no means an expert on these 2 power sets, but a number of comments and questions spring to mind.
1) Why didn't you take Siphon Speed? very useful giving you a sort of travel power nice and early and boosting recharge times.
2) Taking crushing field that early is, in my opinion, asking for trouble. It's an agro magnet. Take later, when you have or are close to getting wormhole.
3) Speed Boost is a defining power for the kinetics set and as such I would recommend taking it as soon as possible rather than delaying it 4 levels.
4) Why have you taken Assault, Acrobatics and Tactics? I really can't see a good reason for these in this build. If you intend it as a PvP build then the tactics will come in handy against stalkers, but to be honest, I would swap these out for other things.
I actually drew out the basics for these sets a while back before creating my grav/rad controller and I have included below, with slotting, the power list I end up with. Though you might be interested in it.

7 months? i started playing CoH in Nov. 2004 on US-servers so its a bit few more than 7 =)
[/ QUOTE ]
5,000 hours is 7 months non-stop playing time. If you've been playing for approximately 17 months then that means you have spent almost one half of your life over that time in game.
And I thought I was obssesed!!

I'm approaching the point where I'm going to start getting some of the higher end powers in my secondary and find I don't quite have room for them all. So, comments on which of the following are good/bad/indifferent would be very gratefully received.
Paralytic Poison - a hold and currently I am working on the basis of taking this power.
Poison Gas - Wasn't planning on taking this one.
Noxious Gas - Not sure about this, but sound like it might be worth having.
As I say, any feedback greatly appreciated. If it matters btw, my primary is ninjas.

Was after any comments on power selection (not too worried about slotting right now) with this build. Currently I have this:

I've taken the debuffs as they seem to work well (already at lvl 25) and have only taken the single personal attack power to allow me to pull bad guys into my waiting ninjas, it won't be slotted (other than the free one which I might make range) and seldom used for anything other than pulling.
I know this will need some careful slotting, but anything there which really shouldn't be?
Anything I've missed out which really should be included? If so, what should be dropped to allow it.

Gratz Globe, nice going.
Makes me feel inadequate only have the one :-)
Skimpy -
Hey, gratz Standoff.
Geez, at this rate the Rangers might even have enough 50's to try and fend of High Society, we only have, erm...18? now I think
Skimpy -
Yup, sounds good to me. Done this once with Skimpy but Cal Amari needs some more TF loving so I'll be there at the apointed time.
Skimpy -
Huge Congratulations to Combat Girl and Rotten who both hit 50 over the weekend.
Rotten is of course the toon formerly known as Ugly
Skimpy -
Based on the fact that Power Boost doesn't seem to affect build up, aim or the DoT damage of the fire attacks, is there any real urgency (or point at all?) for my fire/energy blaster to take power boost?
Skimpy -
Huge gratz on hitting the final hurdle.
Shame about the invisble ding but hey, we still had a party
So, eeerrrrrr....can I have a loan? Skimpy seems to be skinty
Skimpy -
Oh and one more thing, I found the warshade sound and visual effects more annoying
Skimpy -
There are/were numerous threads on this topic around before the boards were wiped, but it looks like most are gone now. The main differences are to be found in human form since Bright/Dark Nova and White/Black Dwarf are basically for the same for both (blaster & tanker(ish)).
The Warshade has a more controller style to it's powers, uses TP as its mode of transport and is purple and dark.
The Peacebringer is much more of a scrapper in human form, uses fly for transport and sort of bluey white and bright.
At the low levels, up to about 8ish, they play very similarly and both are likely to spend a lot of time in nova form and cursing
Play both for a bit (doesn't take long to get to level 8+ with the kheldian missions from your contact) and see which feels more comfortable. Personally I like my peacebringer and didn't really get on so well with the warshade, but your mileage my vary..

Erm...ok, so the error I got posting every time was lying.
Sorry for the mutliple posts there, but honest, it said it had failed. Really, it did!

I'm definitely with SuicideSquid here, if you don't already have the human form self heal get that. (I assume you already have essence boost (Dull Pain) and are talking about reform essence).
If you are referring to Glowing Touch, the Heal Other equivalent, then this depends on personal choice. Since my background is as a healer I need this to make me feel complete (and to keep certain SG mates vertical!) but it is something which people argue doesn't quite fit with the rest of the powers so I wouldn't class it as vital generally.
If you do have the self heal then take the pets, unless you fancy being a really bad emergency backup healer.
