Quote:I bid on em to hold a cap worth of infl. Have never actually purchased one despite having bids out for months. I would rather have cap bids out on something that I wouldnt mind buying(and selling for cap+) than a lvl 53 lotg 7.5%...That's why I said "If it's the right one"
I'm well aware that there are only a few that go for that much. Last I checked, only the Panacea and Gladiator's Armor procs were reliably going for over a billion. And it seems like you have to be at inf cap to even try to buy the Glad Armor proc.
Hows the quiting going? Hope it goes well, was a ***** for me. -
Quote:You are dogpiled because you state an opinion, propose to change a major game mechanic, and then plug your ears to any solution that doesnt match what you want to hear. Your opinion is wrong. Wrongity wrongity wrong. It could not be more wrong even if it was sliced up and stuck between a couple of slices of wrong. Depeche Mode's new(ish) single "Wrong" was written about your opinion(the song sucks bad because your opinion is so wrong). I can confidently say that without facts or proof because you are wrong.I wasn't dogpiled because I'm right (I can't be right or wrong, I posted an opinion). I was dogpiled because I'm me, as far as I can figure it. People that have disagreed with me in the past feel the inexplicable need to antagonize me in my every thread, whatever the topic may be.
What's going on here is a bunch of fans telling me to sod off for reasons I can't fathom. If you disagree with what I'm saying, fine. One can disagree without being disagreeable, however. People offer me solutions as though I haven't been here for years. I know how to slot. I know how to compensate. In this thread, I've said that the amount of attention one has to pay to doing this, and the degree to which it is effective, isn't adequate. Other threads have had similar courses. -
Quote:You missed the point by such a wide margin... Not a single person in this thread has stated that COH CAN BE NO BETTER. You might want to read the whole thread before you chip in.Definitely.
Granted, I only read the first few pages and the last to see where it ended up, but the COH CAN BE NO BETTER crowd who prefer their temp powers and slots and power pools to make up for...powers that suck....are pretty defiant.
I dunno. I don't come here to crunch numbers and micro-manage. I come here to rp a particular type of hero, and I want to take those powers--not whatever other stuff someone thinks I ought to because they want to make sure you're not having too MUCH fun, because someone thinks the game is only fun based on experience progression..::rolls eyes::
In that quote, I was refering to the community ***** slapping Ultimo_ is getting because of his lack of social skills. Kinda like when a pack of dogs "correct" the behavior of a dog in the pack showing aberrant, and unsocialized traits.
I'm pretty sure everyone realizes Ultimo_ wont change. He seems to post the same complaint over and over with different window dressing while remaining ignorant of why he gets the same reaction over and over. (Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein) It has reached the point where the only purpose to responding to him, is to use him as an example to the community of how not to act.
No one here is telling anyone to micro manage, and to crunch numbers. If you want to RP, all the power to you, no one is stopping you. But you still need to use the tools within the game to do it. You cant just imagine that your toon can give a withering stare to Statesman and he crumbles to the floor praising your name and expect that to actually happen in game.
I dont care what powers you take in order to have your fun, it does not affect me at all. Have all the fun you want. I dont recommend coming to the boards, asking for help with said fun, given perfectly good ways to work around the issue so you can still have your fun but totally ignore all offered help because it was not solution you were looking for.
I'll tell you what, I wont roll my eyes at your RPing, or badge hunting, or yiffing, or whatever it is you get from this game(well, I might point and laugh if you are yiffing, but I wont propose they stop you from PMing eachother...) and you dont roll your eyes at me for having fun by getting xp. -
Quote:Exactly. It is only when taken on average, through thousands of kills that it works out to about one per 60 - 75 rep qualified kills. Not necessarily the case.
It's a random number generator. You could get a PvP IO drop on your very first kill ever.....or you could make thousands of kills and never see one.
I PvP on a somewhat regular basis, and I've never gotten one. If I DO get one, it will most likely be sold to fund my build, since you can hit influence cap on selling one of them if it's the right one.
They are not all worth that much though, so dont get too excited... took me 2 months of trying before I got my first >billion recipe -

Quote:Actually, if you stop attacking, your dps drops to the point where you cannot overcome the regeneration rate of the mob. There are indeed examples of ATs doing amazing things, but this ability is hardly equal. That is, the tools to affect endurance use are more or less useful depending on the AT and power sets in use. Also, in the exceptional examples mentioned, players are undoubtedly taking drastic measures to ensure they don't run out of endurance while fighting (such as stopping attacking so they can recover, mid-fight.

In the arena, You need to be within a certain lvl range (Think 5...) In zones, it doesnt matter, everyone is the same lvl. The recipe drop is the lvl of the toon that received the recipe, not the lvl of the defeated toon.
You can only get rep off the same toon once every 5 mins. Once you get a recipe, you cant get another within 10 mins.
RDG usually works out to 1 drop every 60 - 75 defeats. -
You could get behind this idea if interested.

Quote:If you dont have alot of infl. definately craft. However, be sure to look at the crafted stuff as sometimes, just sometimes, the crafted IO is cheaper.Hey guys,
I'm starting to IO my DM/SR brute a little (only lvl 29) and I'm wondering.
Should I buy the recipes or the crafted IO's? I don't have much money right now and I'm going to wait on buying the big stuff till later but I'm wondering what everyone else does.
Thanks,
I also recommend the Fulmans craft two, sell one philosophy. You could even turn it up to 11 and craft 3, sell 2. If you disregard semantics, it will make you build even "cheaper" More tedious... but that is the payoff for building that way. -
Maximum total regeneration for players depends on Archetype and (sometimes) level.
Scrapper, Stalker - 2,200% at level 1. 3,000% at level 20+
Brute, Tanker - 2,100% at level 1. 2,500% at level 20+
All others - 2,000% -
Quote:Dont let facts get in the way of emotions.But... I thought the complaint was 'there's too much downtime because I use too much endurance'? If the massive and unmitigatable end drain was removed, leveling speed would be faster. Wouldn't it?
Oh wait, you can mitigate the 'massive and unmitigatable' end drain. And it's possible to mitigate to the point some people will solo giant monsters. A feat which can take upwards to half an hour for some builds. A half hour of non-stop fighting. And some people proudly solo GMs and AVs without using temp powers or inspirations too! I guess there aren't enough effective ways to mitigate endurance usage. -
Pretty sure he is in game testing, and putting together the math to prove that the game is indeed, not fun. Probably also thinking of a balanced, and fair way to keep leveling speed the same, but include fun in the actual game. Like it says on the box!

Quote:Fulmans has written an excellent mini guide on the subject here, here, and here. It is still a very viable way to build and slot your toons. There used to be a thing when io's first came out called frankenslotting. that is when you slot, not for set bonuses, but you slotted to put io's of same advantages in a power, example: in a melee attack a slot my have - acc/dam, acc/dam, dam/recharge, dam/recharge, acc/dam, dam/recharge. all of them from different io sets. does anyone still do this? and how do you like it.

Quote:Fortunately America is so well represented in the diplomatic circles, and your toon has more than brawl at all American embassies. Just need to coax the bad guys past the marines.I've got a bit of a Captain Marvel type. Jamie Mathews, 19, almost 20. Born on the 4th of July. When he was 16, he was on a field trip to Mount Rushmore when the Spirit of America chose him as a defender of the country. He only gets his super powers when he raises a fist to the sky and says 'America, give me strength!' and becomes Rushmore.
The one problem is though, his powers, Stone/Stone/Earth Tanker, derive from America.
So they don't work on the Rogue Isles.
They don't work in other dimensions.
They don't work in Canada.
So he's a guy with brawl when not on American soil. -
Mobs lvl 47+ have a chance to drop purples. Do you want to take the hit in sale price for your other recipe drops is the question Bob.

Quote:Hear that? That was all the 'sploiters joygasming. Not possible. XP/Inf rewards are divided by the number of team members. As your team size increases, the rewards per kill will decrease, even with factoring in the modifier for team size.
If what you say is happening, is really happening and not just misremembering on your part, then you've discovered a heck of a bug. -
Quote:Sorry, agreed on the notoriety settings, I should have been more clear. I was mostly responding to Carnifax_NA's "They never did". Because they did. Before the notoriety system even existed there was no way to control spawn size, or difficulty besides team size/lvl makeup.Currently, and under the previous notoriety system, the numbers of enemies spawned increases with team size. Level has always been set by the mission holder's difficulty settings. Level is not affected by team size now and was not affected under the previous system.
The system is completely different now, and if it is not working as expected, you should bug it. -
Quote:Actually, yes they did. Not positive if that was changed when the SSK system was introduced, but mission spawn levels and size would scale depending on team size. No, they don't and never did. You're simply wrong about this (again).
Hence the mission padding and painting that went on before SSK'ing was introduced.
Is it currently that way? No idea, haven't been on many 8 man teams to test it lately. -
Quote:That is very unlikely. I have never received the same xp for a single mob, solo and teamed.Solo: 10,000 inf per kill
Teamed : 10,000 inf per kill but we kill them faster, thus can defeat more enemies in the same period of time.
Going to have to second Smurph's request for a screenshot. -

Quote:Cool, thanks Smurph. Really, the math aint important to me, I'm happy with the clip I farm at solo. I often find the drama of a big team negates any bonus from the modifier anyway. All my duo partners have long since left the game.I believe your example of the 8 50s is accurate though I didn't read it too closely.
What's relevant to this discussion is the Team Multiplier. Let's pretend one level 50 Fire/Kin solo farms at a speed of 400,000 Inf per minute. Clone him, team up, assume the two mow down enemies at the same speed, and go two directions and instead of 800,000 per minute (double 400) each receives...
800,000 * team size multiplier / team size.
800,000 * 1.25 (2 players) / 2 = 500,000
The problem is people don't all go the same speed. Often the gap between fast and slow people is so big that one person is more of a burden then a help.
Also, when most people mean "team farm" they mean work together. Surprisingly, working together is often, though not always, less efficient than two people going two different directions. So in our example above, if the two cloned Fire/Kins worked together instead of going two different directions they might each only receive 300k Inf a minute, instead of 400k alone, or 500k teamed and going separate ways.
All of this, obviously, is way too complicated. Get on your character and run herostats. Then get on a team and run herostats. Then you simply get an answer and don't have to do any math or theory.
