Yes, if that is the real Saphire next to you
-
Everything seemed to be how she remembered it; but a wave of anxiety struck her as she stepped forward; fearful of what may have changed. Her mind imagining seeing Arachnos posters hanging off the sides of buildings.
-
There was a moment of light, then total darkness.
A feeling of movement assaulted your faces, almost like a hurricane pulling and pushing every inch of flesh on your body.
Even through open eyes you saw nothing.
A song wanders into your heads. For Grav it was "The Sound of Silence", for Saphire "I Want to Break Free". You're not sure if you ever heard those songs before today, but they're right there in your memory.
Memories of the past jump back and forth with memories from the future. You remember your first kiss, your first time being ill, your first use of your powers.
Then it's gone...
A roaring sound comes from in front of you and a thin white light streams in towards you. Your feet touch some metal rails; and the knowledge of where you are returns.
Leaping from the track, you land on the floor of the Kings Row railway line.
A Hero dressed almost entirely in white looks down at you, rolls his eyes and steps onto the train.
"Bloody Train Missions scaring the drek out of me!", he says as the train whistles off again.
You are alone now, the everpresent humming of the drones seeming strange and weird to you.... -
The two Grav's focussed sensing magic on the portal and realised simultaneously that it was the movement that was causing the shifts; possibly even what had caused the rust on the Mechmen.
Slowly concentrating, they shifted Gravity around the Portal to hold it perfectly in place; and the revolving views slowly started to stabilise...each frame flicking past slower and slower....
The strain on each of their faces was intense though; every microsecond the Portal wanted to leak through their Gravitational effect. They would have to move soon.
Especially as Grav's hair caught light from the torrent of flame rushing down towards them... -
A small ping told Saphire to look away as the top panel of the console exploded in her face.
Smoke poured from it, smelling faintly of ammonia, whilst the portal seemed to rock on it's hinges. -

Well, at least please fix the healing/endurance recovery crystals in CoT missions...I'd really like to see an explenation how THOSE prevent me from doing an AS.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same way they interrupt TP Foe, Snipe and all the other interruptible powers; they dissuade your concentration. -
There was a shimmering around the portal and then with a huge anti-climax, King's Row appeared.
Then it shifted to Peregrine, then to Atlas, then to Brickstown and kept shifting...
This was unbeknownst to the Zeus who stepped forward towards it, weapons still trained on Grav and Saphire.
He stepped into the portal and was gone.
The screams didn't stop for some time....
The Cavern was starting to fill with smoke now, and Grav's eyes started to water heavily.
Saphire played with the controls until the shifts were kept static for a few seconds; but would they suffer the same fate? -

The combat log is not always 100% accurate.
I would suggest that what happened in this case was the blow itself killed you. If the conbat log listed falling damage last I imagine that due to a bug the falling damage was applied after you where already dead.
Remember that due to animation issues the health bar always lags behind your real status.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fell through the air in normal animation and was able to activate powers so wasn't dead. No DoT's on me. I'm suspecting a bug... -
Mmmmmm...Ninja Amazon time travelling alternate dimension immortal catgirl kheldians...in bikinis...*drools*
-
Well this is the scenario..
I was dueling a Science Brute on top of a building in Siren's Call. He struck me with what I think was a Haymaker (SuperStrength) [Double Axe-Handle animation]; I was hitting red health now so I leapt off the building and triggered fly. No effect. Switched to Jetpack. No effect. Smashed into the ground and died with no DoT's on me. The last combat damage I suffered was directly from falling. -
One huge problem with the Arena is not being able to choose maps.
Weasel can quite easily dominate on the Town and Perez maps; but get him on the Cave, Balcony or Crey maps and a lot of his abilities get royally wrecked.
In Siren's etc. I can pick what ground I fight on to my advantage.
And I don't think Stalkers would like "No Stealth Powers" enabled
One thing I would like to ask though : When has falling damage been allowed to kill you? -
BTW...as you're getting close, Saphire 2 and Grav 2 are now under your control...but be careful what they do...
-
The Zeus swung it's horribly beweaponed arm around at Saphire.
"OPEN THAT DAMN PORTAL BEFORE I NUKE THE HELL OUT OF YOU, KHELDIAN SCUM! I'M NOT DYING HERE IN THE PAST!"
A smaller whir followed and a missile battery locked onto Grav.
"AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT YOUR GRAV POWERS [censored]! ONE INCREASE IN G FORCE AND I'LL CREATE A PARADOX SO LARGE THAT LUSCA WILL BE YOUR PARENTS!"
The heat in the chamber was increasing rapidly. -
Ok, Saphire took the blast to save the control panel and it 'seems' to still be working properly.
AFAIK, Saphire 2 told Saphire 1 what buttons to press on the panel; but she had to do it very quickly.... -
Wasn't so much that you took the whole Fitness Pool Del, more the order in which you took them...personally I'd think Sprint, Health, Stamina, Hurdle would be more effective but YMMV.
-
((Sorry...had some days off for tax reasons
))
Saphire stepped from the smoke, teeth bared as a volley of shots slammed into some of the remaining Mechmen; disassociating them into shreds of rusted metal.
The Zeus shook the cavern as it seemed to run in slow motion towards the Portal.
From deep within the Cavern, a solitary voice rang out...
"By the way, Arbiter Needham, I was aware of your treachery some time ago, so I included a small incendiary device in the construction of this base to remove the Portal Technology for good. I hope you won't think it churlish of me."
Grav's musings and Saphire's scowls were soon to be matched by Requiem's hand-washing as far off in the sewers, a explosion sounded and a rushing of heated air filled the cavern. -
I'd really include Sniper MUCH earlier and Energy Torrent for Offence/Defence.
Swift, Hurdle, Stamina, Health ???????
1 Acc PVE, 2 Acc's PvP seems to be the normal form. You didn't specify Del.
Def buff on CJ is near useless; Jump mod is better.
Slot Disorient into Focus
Grant Invis is very much a 'concept' power.
All three Zaps (Bolt, Burst,Blast) seem strange; explosive is VERY good. -
Accuracy cap means you ALWAYS have a 5% chance to miss.
Weasel 1 : Chives 0 -

Even Silver Weasel, when cornered the other day, ran away with his sliver of health, instead of just accepting defeat. It's unsporting.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm a blaster; my inherents appear when I have a sliver of health. My entire AT/build is based on Rapid Reactions/Responses and my build is based on the basic "Annoyance" factor.
Retreat is a sound tactical maneuver when faced by overwhelming odds. I'm not in it for the sport.
That's why foxes don't take on Huntsmen...
Smart eh? -

To both Hobo and Silver, when does it take an entire volley or a 'team' to take out a MM? I can easily 2 shot them into oblivion unless they have PFF running...
[/ QUOTE ]
Aim and Build Up will allow you to 2 shot ANY mm, even with PFF running.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aim, Build Up, Fury, Snipe will take a Mastermind to 1/4 health. I've tried it numerous times. My Damage is 3x+2 Slotted SO's.
It will take me a Explosive Blast and probably a Bolt/Blast to finish the weakest of the AT's.
Oh and you can buy BF's in Sirens Call, just takes Bounty. (And not the choccie bar)
-
[ QUOTE ]
That part is purely assumption on my part, correct me if I'm wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, you're right. But that just points to the fact that PvE/PvP are different games. Certain AT's need to respec between modes and that seems silly. Respecs are a personal bane as they take ages, cost a lot and ruin the idea of RP.
+Perception I mention later. Rendering a Power Pool useless is a workaround rather than a viable use.
KB has it's uses; but it doesn't work on Aerial foes; doesn't toggle drop and doesn't stop powers being queued.
[ QUOTE ]
Sets that do Toxic/Psi damage don't tend to do very high damage in the first place...
[/ QUOTE ] But have a high rate of damage and crippling secondaries.
[ QUOTE ]
Break Frees for the win?
[/ QUOTE ] Which you can't buy if the other side is dominating; and with my 20 slots (BF's working for about 5 seconds) that gives me a five minute fighting before I have to leave the zone. That's not inculding the space I'd like to leave for CaB's and Respites.
[ QUOTE ]
You're saying a Scrapper should dominate a melee let's say... Blaster in close combat? Please...
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, yes... Scrappers are 'Boss Killers' so a competent Scrapper should be able to decimate any AT in fair, close range 1 on 1. That's their original vision. Blasters have range for a reason.
Chuck Norris will kick Rambo's guts if he can get in to use a roundhouse. If Rambo sees him coming and gets the drop on him, he's gonna get a severe case of lead poisoning.
Challenge is good. Having to de-rationalise RP, ignore PvE and then fall prey to 'ganking methods' (TP Foe/Permahold) isn't. -
4 seconds when I can't target you as an Inherent against being targetted instantly with a tier 2 power pool?
That means the Squishy part of a team is rapidly removed; and I think the 5 Stalkers could pile on a Granite Tank after they've removed the Invuln Scrapper, Blaster, Controller and Defender who can't see them coming?
Masterminds also add the element of PvE that PvP builds cannot properly deal with.
As a constructive soloution, I'd prefer to see MM pets using the PvP targetting; and the Hide recharge increased; but the range of Stalkers other attacks/defences increased slightly to cope.
There's no point in having a character that is excessive damage/ineffectual defence as ED eliminated the chance for other AT's to take that choice. -
Winning specific fights would be nice. There is no point in me taking on a Controller or a Brute that's on full health because my effects cannot take place before they can effect me once and then kill me at leisure.
Powers like Flight etc. can be disabled for 30 Seconds; Hide recharges in 4. There is no way to re-enable flight if a -fly is applied to you. This is from one 'carrier' effect of a power; nothing to do with Toggle Drops/End Drains (which will floor most people)
Some secondary effects are better. Hold >> Sleep >> KB.
Team of Blasters? That's one blaster and 5 3slotted attacks on the weakest AT...
Most defence sets focus almost entirely on Smash/Lethal with Fire/Cold/Energy second. With almost no defences against Toxic/Psionic; these powersets will be at a considerable advantage for no reason.
Like AOE effects on Stealth/Hidden characters. I have been terrorised and AS'd whilst invisible. This is almost primarily due to IR-Goggles and/or Leadership which renders these powers useless. Can you think of any power which renders another Defence set useless?
With Defence being lowered to silly levels; there is no real strategy over First Strike Wins, as the secondary effect of the First Strike usually forces the Second strike to bypass all the defences unless it's a defence based character. Why else have they given the Range masters abilities only useful in Close Combat?
-abilities last for 10-30 Seconds. Any reasonable AT can finish me in 5. That's too long without any escape route. (Considering I will have lost any travel powers; and theirs will still be active)
Once the Heros/Villains have control over Siren's Call; the winning side is able to one-shot; and the losing side is not able to purchase defences. This seems very overpowered.
Scrappers/Stalkers have High Damage Inherents, High Defence
Powers and played properly 'should' dominate any Close Combat. PvP has been forced to Close Combat due to the inherent problems with making combat ranged. The Inherent problem with Ranged Combat only can be easily seen in PvE; where Stalkers/Scrappers are left at a disadvantage.
PvP is fun when you're winning; PvE is fun even when you're losing.
I have had fun in the PvP zones, but there's an element of competitiveness above and beyond normal fair play which turns a lot of PvP into 'avoid the gankers'.
That's not really fun; and the game encourages it.
