Libertine Lass would be rerolled. She was my 'All American' heroine.

I'm really hoping you already knew this.

Just in case maybe we should start passing around a hat to collect for the $10 name change? -

That was excellent. Never seen that before and I had to watch the entire thing. Even better than the Sesame Street NWA "F- Tha Police"
Thank you! -

Assuming they've found a way around the "black is transparent" problem, my Electric Melee Brute is getting black electricity.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm honestly hoping that this stays. The prospect of being able to dim some power effects down, especially for more naturally inclined characters, has me most excited about the upcoming custimization.
Hasten, I'm looking in your direction.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh boy oh boy... I'm quite ambivalent on this one. I see the need for both on several powersets.
Another thing you mention: hasten. I really hope we can tweak pool powers as well. Recoloring superspeed and toning that sparkle down would be awesome.
Even better would be if we get a pulldown of a few animations, I'd LOVE the option to use the old faulty "skulk" animation patrols used to employ as my superspeed run cycle on a character or two. That animation looks more like speed skating than anything! -

Laserstorm, my Storm/Energy Defender, has always wanted golden Energy Blasts a la the Legacy Chain. And my Fire/Elec Blaster, Inyouji, is definitely getting blue Fire Blasts.
[/ QUOTE ]
Makes me think I should runout and see if the name Gaslight is taken. Might be a good name for a blue fire/some other powerset sadistic villain. -
[ QUOTE ]
I know, I want to change the color of my MA/SR scrapper to... aw crap!
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I hope SR can be recolored! The effects are subtle, but it would help my brute Goldrush who is SS/SR. He's a big solid gold guy and that slightly purplish white of the effects would do him much better were it tinted gold.
So that's one of mine.
The other would be Sludge Mouth, my DM/Shields brute. I really wanted toxic or radioactive melee for this failed experiment man-monster. I picked DM several months ago on the hopes that maybe someday I could recolor DM to a sickly goopy green. Thrilled that I rolled the dice on this one!
Amethyst Avenger, an MA/Invul scrapper will be getting a bit more purple in her life most likely.
I'm really really curious to see what they do about the plant set. If we get both effects tinting and a limited menu of particle effects/power skins, I may actually make a blueside Plant 'troller finally. I'm hoping for a brighter, more sylvan plant look with flowers and butterflies. Srsly.
Oh and my mind/empath controller Gata Blanca who's signature colors are mostly white with pink fur trim will likely recolor her green emp blooms to be closer to mind controls subtler pink. -

Do they ever ban multiple accounts if they can trace ownership back to a single person based on misconduct with a second account? And is it possible to get your game account(s) banned for misconduct on the forums?
[/ QUOTE ]
I am not sure if they actually do it in practice, but in the EULA they specifically reserve the right to ban multiple accounts of the same user based on IP address, credit card information, etc.
[ QUOTE ]
(j) Related Accounts. If NC Interactive terminates an Account, NC Interactive may terminate any other Accounts that share the same member name, phone number, email address, postal address, Internet Protocol address, or credit card number with the terminated Account.

Thanks for clarifying. Good to know that there are things in place to deal with mischief makers who think they've beaten the system and that they are somehow above repercussions. -
Quick question regarding forum policies:
Do they ever ban multiple accounts if they can trace ownership back to a single person based on misconduct with a second account? And is it possible to get your game account(s) banned for misconduct on the forums?
Asking because I sincerely do not know this one. -

Why even do interviews about Going Rogue if you're not going to reveal anything? More and more convinced it'll release 2010.
[/ QUOTE ]
First quarter 2010, AT THE EARLIEST, is my guess. My spider-sense is telling me this thing is a very long ways away no matter how you slice it.
[/ QUOTE ]
The comment regarding having not scoped out all the costume pieces that will be available with GR in particular has me agreeing with you.
Sounds like it's earlier in development than I initially believed with the first announcement.
On a totally different note: kinda thrilled about the travel power designs that were back burnered. Nice to know they have at least given a little drafting table time to the stuff. -

I would say sry for actually having morals and values but i would be lying. But if you want you kids to cross dress whither in game or in Rl thats not my call. I for one dont want it.
[/ QUOTE ]
If any child of mine ever was born into that very difficult life of a transgendered biology, I'd damn well sure as hellfire want them to feel okay about cross dressing, going pre-op or post-op, whatever they needed to do to feel right about oneself. And I'd pray to whatever god exists that they never would be humiliated or shamed or worse by ignorant intolerant jerks who insisted everyone should live by codes of hatred packaged as systems of morals.
Life is hard enough for some people. Love and accept all your children. Even the boys that insist on wearing lipstick.
Mod 8 please come and lock this mess. -
[ QUOTE ]
I have to say. The way the OP is talking, scares me a little.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. I find it quite hateful to be honest.
At least this restores my faith in the general decency of fellow forumites who all seem to get a couple things:
1.) A superhero who has both male and female incarnations is not necessarily a cross dresser.
2.) There is nothing inherently sexual or explicit about cross dressing or transgendered identity.
Hopefully Mod 8 will come and clean up this mess tomorrow morning. -
Bah. I came here expecting a full commentary from KO. But nope, just some lame article typed out with words and stuff.
I'm going back to DKos. -
Crimson Edict.
Barely play him. But I still love the name. Golden ager dual blades scrapper nestled into a nice little GA themed group on Protecetor.
(I pick this minor character because I can't choose a favorite main over any other) -

Confirmation? This is the first i've heard of any speculation that the booster packs might come out before Going Rogue.
If you look at the timing of the booster releases, Cyborg came out with issue 13, Magic came out with issue 14, Science is in beta with issue 15, probably not too far of a stretch to think that science will be available when issue 15 is our or soon after. My guess is they are trying to piggy back the super booster content updates in with the issues. No reason (that I know of) that they couldn't between issues, just going on history here. My guess is issues 16 and 17 will both have boosters with them as well.
Whether or not all 5 for the origins will be out before Going Rogue depends on how long it takes Going Rogue to come out since no one official has said anything yet. They've said not issue 16, so its at least as long as issue 17, maybe longer.
[/ QUOTE ]
Two conversations going on here. One is the OP's speculation regarding when all five origin based booster packs will come out.
The second conversation was spurred by a subsequent post (SP?) questioning the legitimacy of the premise that we are indeed getting five origin booster packs.
All the claims of confirmation are regarding this second, more lively conversation. Probably because the first conversation started by the OP can be little but speculative at this point as it hinges upon when GR itself will actually go live. Nobody in the general public knows this for certain as far as I know. -

The game belongs to the Devs.

But the CDs, boxes and hero clix will be yours to repurpose as you see fit even long after we stop using computers in favor of mindboxes. By the time I'm a lean healthy sesquicenturion, I probably will be using mine as a micronutrient container coaster and the heroclix will gently float inside my nanite assembled micro gravity curio cabinet. -
[ QUOTE ]
No we do not have confirmation on that. We don't even have confirmation on 5 coming out, just that there was something said that the devs would like to do one for each origin. Don't know what the one after Super Science is going to be Mutant based or Natural based.
[/ QUOTE ]
In all the anniversary interviews there was acknowledgment that the mutant pack will contain more animal or monster parts. I forget the exact words.
Also, Sexy Jay made a post prior to the magic set being worked on that many read as alluding to the natural set including lots of 'hood thug parts.
And the all five origins thing has been alluded to on several occasions. Considering how many of the first two sold, they'd be foolish not to finish the set IMO. -

Thanks for the headsup and link. Don't often go into that section of the forum, so I missed the existing thread. -

Oh look, more DOOOM.
[/ QUOTE ]
No. Not doom. A reasonable question.
If someone can make hot pink fire armor buffs and green ice armor that last a couple minutes of duration, what's unreasonable about asking for the option to click and switch off those buffs you receive from other players.
Folks are going to be excited when PC comes and are going to want to show off their cool color choices. That's all fair and good. But some inevitably are going to be a bit obnoxious about it standing near busy thoroughfares in game tossing these buffs as quickly as they recharge.
Not saying we shouldn't get PC because of this or that the hideously-ugly-as-it-is ice armor shouldn't get the same abilities to be tinted as all other powers... just thinking ahead in advance that a simple (no idea if it's simple to program, but simple in terms of function and interface) long requested QoL option to cancel any buffs we receive by selecting them from the buff tray would go a long way to give us the tools to deal with any obnoxiousness immediately on the spot.
Similarly, we used to be able to delete all the safeguard/mayhem buffs if the auras irked him or her. Eventually they canned the auras for those buffs in particular.
Again, just thinking ahead to the inevitable 9 year old at heart ruining some costume contest or something by fire buffing everyone with the brightest lime green possible. If each player can cancel that buff with a couple clicks, problem solved.
(Conversely, someone might *really* want to get someone's wild colored buffs in favor of a buff already applied. An option to cancel said buffs in that instance might also be quite handy.)
Edit: For clarity, grammar and all that stuff. Still probably didn't get it right. -
So with i16 and power customization will we also finally get the oft requested QoL feature to select and delete any buff from another player?
I see great potential for all sorts of obnoxious drive by prismatic buffs. With color modified powers comes great responsibility... -

I wouldn't kick new map textures out of the sack, but I'd much prefer that energy go toward fresher, more interactive types of missions.
I hardly notice mission maps, except for the ones I hate (oranbega, layer cake cave room).
[/ QUOTE ]
I would like both, personally.
Also, I tend to feel like they are somewhat linked as you'd have to modify some of the existing maps to allow for these new interactive items to take place...
I'd also love new enemy groups.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd welcome hero or villain zone spawns where Bosses or EB's from the Safeguard/Mayhem pools randomly spawn now and then in zones with a patrol mechanic in run/fly mode. Not sure what it has to do with customization or more maps, just something I've long thought would make the zones feel more dynamic and super-y... -

[ QUOTE ][*]Gameplay application for previously RP'd details - secret identities, family relations between characters, etc. there MAY be creative though unlikely ways to shoehorn these details in ways that actually affect gameplay
[/ QUOTE ]
This would be nice, except the ingame fiction behind it would invariably be something like "A kind, sweet woman named Eroved Assenav is selflessly working on a database where heroes can enter the names of their close family, for completely non-suspicious reasons. She is also giving out candy to anyone who registers."
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh. What I really meant was something that as you customized such data, might show up in game like when you face down a villain and are teaming with your in game sister. The villain might spout "I'll get you and your Sister once and for all!" (with a $relativespresent tag or some such)
I suggested something like this on the boards for that other game ages ago when folks were kicking around pie-in-the-sky implementations for the arch-enemy system.
Speaking of which, an Arch Enemy System would be one other big form of character customization that could be thrown on the list.
Note that I'm not saying that any or all of these other things should, could or will come to pass. Just brainstorming starting with the question: "If this is not about power customization, what then?"
