Chapter II: Meltdown

-~Helen DiVil~-

Helen DiVil, a student at Paragon University, was very excited to take the tour of Terra Volta. Terra Volta is a nuclear power plant, the generator of electricity throughout Paragon City.
Helen is studying nuclear engineering and this tour is highly suggested by her professors.

The tour guide, Dr. Bishop, led the group towards the reactor core building entrance.

“Come along, everybody. We don’t want anyone to get lost.”, said Dr. Bishop.

Helen continued walking and a man in the tour walked up to her.

“Hey, my name is George.”, said the man.
“I’m Helen.”, she replied.
“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”, said George.

Helen and George continued walking with the tour when Helen noticed two people were missing.

Helen turned back to find them, and George rushed after.
Around the corner were two girls from the tour, walking away.

“Hey!”, shouted Helen as she chased after them.

The two girls stopped and started to whisper to each other.

“We need to get out of here, Lucy.”, said one girl.
“It’s okay, Cassandra.”, Lucy said.
“Where were you two going?”, asked George.
“Cassandra is a psychic. She had a vision.”, said Lucy.
“Yes. I had a vision that there will be a terrible accident and death. I see it happening today, so let’s leave.”, urged Cassandra.

Dr. Bishop walked over them.

“Why did you four run off?”, asked Dr. Bishop as he was walking.

Suddenly, the earth shook. There was a loud scream and a power line fell in front of Dr. Bishop, separating him from the others. The power line began to spark and catch fire, making a wall of fire.

“Run!”, yelled Dr. Bishop. “Get in a shelter!”

Dr. Bishop ran off.
Helen, Lucy, George and Cassandra ran in the other direction, towards Independence Port.
An alarm system went off, urging everyone to get inside a building and take shelter.

George spotted a building in the distance, and the girls followed him towards it.
As they were running, Helen tripped and fell to the ground.
Lucy went to help Helen, but there was an explosion and another power line fell. This time, the power line fell on top of Lucy, killing her.

“No!”, cried Cassandra.
“We need to go, Cassandra.”, said George, as he pulled her towards the shelter.
Cassandra broke away from George, who ran into the shelter. Suddenly, there was another explosion, and the shelter collapsed with George inside.
Helen got up and saw Cassandra running away. Helen ran towards another shelter when there was a final, powerful explosion that came from the reactor core.
This explosion was so strong that the force swept across the entire area. Everyone in Terra Volta was knocked to their feet or knocked into the air. All the buildings either collapsed or were severely damaged. All of the power lines fell, causing multiple simultaneous explosions. Radiation was released throughout the area, contaminating almost anything alive.

Helen was tossed into the sky and she closed her eyes, knowing her inevitable death. However, she didn’t land. She opened her eyes and looked around. She was flying!

Helen then flew towards the reactor core.
At the door, she found a hero who managed to survive, sitting in front of the door.

“What happened here?”, asked Helen, hovering over the ground.
“We tried changing our powers by protecting the reactor core, but we failed.”, said the hero.
“Wait. Are you trying to tell me that this whole accident is because you tried to change your powers?”, demanded Helen.
“Well…yes.”, said the hero.

Helen became furious. The next thing she knew, she blasted a bolt of radiation at the hero until he was about to die.
With her new abilities to manipulate radiation, she flew off towards Siren’s Call to kill the heroes.

On the way to Siren’s Call, she noticed two heroes following her. She stopped the chase in Siren’s Call.
The two heroes approached her.

"All we want to know is who you are.", said one of the heroes.
"My name is none of your business.", replied Helen.

"Then I guess we will have to make it my business.", said the other hero. "It may get quite windy."
A strong gust of wind blew towards Helen, knocking her into the air.
Helen then hovered in the sky and blasted the hero with a bolt of radiation.
The other was ready to attack the girl, when she suddenly fell to the floor with a sword in her back.

Helen looked up at the culprit and was shocked to see…it was George!

Book I
Chapter I: The Spy

-~Silent Spy~-

Silent Spy was leaving the City Hall in Atlas Park after meeting with the mayor when a Hero Corps agent stopped her.

"Are you Silent Spy?", asked the Hero Corps agent.

"Yes, I am. What do you need?", said Silent Spy.

"There has been a radiation leak in Terra Volta, we desperately need your help.", replied the agent. "We need you to save as many people as you can."

Silent Spy got to Terra Volta as fast as she could. Once inside, she noticed the disaster and the large amount of radiation-infected villains. She went invisbile so they wouldn't notice her and ran through Terra Volta.

She passed by a survivor who was already running towards the gate, although Silent Spy did not get a good look at the survivor.

Silent Spy noticed a flattened building and looked through the rubble for any bodies. She pulled out a man, who appeared to be dead. There was a loud explosion and Silent Spy leaped to the action.

There was a powerline that fell near the entrance to the reactor core. Silent Spy noticed a body outside the door to the reactor and ran towards it. It appeared to be a dying hero. The door opened and another body fell out, another hero.

This time, the hero was a girl, and alive.

"Who are you?", asked Silent Spy.

"My name is Phantoma Storm.", said the female hero, breathing deeply.

"What happened in there?", Silent Spy asked in a rush.

"We were trying to protect the reactor from being destroyed by the Sky Raiders...but we failed.", said Phantoma Storm.

"We were trying to protect it to use the radiation to change our powers.", said the dying hero. "There was a girl...she was flying...she flew by and asked what happened. When I told her we tried to change our powers, she blasted radiation at me and flew away..."

The male hero then died.

"No!", cried Phantoma Storm over her fallen teammate.

"We need to find this girl. She can be a danger to everybody. We must hurry.", urged Silent Spy.

Silent Spy and Phantoma Storm ran towards the exit of Terra Volta as there were explosions and falling powerlines. Once in Independence Port, the two heroes noticed a figure flying towards Steel Canyon. Silent Spy and Phantoma Storm followed the girl all the way to Siren's Call, where they finally got to meet.

"All we want to know is who you are.", said Silent Spy to the girl.

"My name is none of your business.", replied the girl harshly.

"Then I guess we will have to make it my business.", said Phantoma with a smirk. "It may get quite windy."

A strong gust of wind blew towards the girl, knocking her into the air.

The girl then hovered in the sky and blasted Phantoma with a bolt of radiation.

Silent Spy was ready to attack the girl, when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back. She fell to the floor with a sword in her back.
