This is true, but not everyone has had the opportunity to run the First Ward content yet, especially returning Premiums who are still getting used to being back in the game.

A simple disclaimer above the entries would suffice. I for one would have been pretty pissed off if such a great story arc had been spoiled ahead of time. I love First Ward, it's very Doctor Who in it's odd, geeky horror.

I just don't see how you market a story arc by giving away the ending. Though, Master Midnight was pretty easy to figure out. I don't think anyone else in the game has Percy's eyes. But Serene was a pleasant surprise which is up now, too.

Well said. Having RP'd on Virtue for a couple years and also having played on Freedom for several years prior to that (Some of that in a Top 10 SG) I can appreciate the RPer, the casual gamer and the power gamer, but here's the rub. Few of us actually fit into one of those 3 categories perfectly.

And yes, I RP on Exalted.
  3. Yes. I understand the servers are back up, hence my concern. Thank you for confirming that you are seeing the incorrect values as well.
  4. After the changes today, the Server Status page has stopped functioning for me.

I am able to log into the game but all the servers are listed as Down.

I've tried two computers, one of which I don't use to access the CoH website normally, and three browsers, IE 8, 9 and Chrome.

    Anyone else having this issue?

Yes. Mini Trial. 4 players were mentioned. Not sure if more can run or not.

  7. What amends must be made? Even if the servers were down the entire day, that's less than 50 cents.
I play this game a lot. Prolly 5 to 10 hours a day. And yet, one day without it is not going to kill me.
You can not plan for everything. To say otherwise is lunacy.

Shenanigans. Ninja/Beast run doesn't unlock until lvl 4. But anything is possible with enough work and obsessiveness.

Not true. There are MANY good names locked to trial accounts. They really should take this time to unreserve all names locked to trial accounts.

    the game down?

I'm experiencing this problem as well. Yay, I get to miss SG events for an unscheduled publish. Thanks.

After restarting the client, it seems to be patching it back to the previous version (I hope) so maybe they fixed it.
  11. Unfortunately, they moved my kids' soccer practice to the time we were going to play so it's becoming less likely that I'll be around. But I'll try to keep the characters going in the background until time restraints clear up.
If anyone wants to be a more Posi-like Posi in my stead, that's fine.

Well it's Thursday! Get crackin! Hehehe

Profile for Plasmatron DRS and Spectron DRS below:
Most people believe that the heroes Plasmatron and Spectron are two seperate people. In fact they are super suits based on the designs of Prime Earth's Positron. Either can be piloted directly or can be remote piloted from the safety of headquarters. This helps perpetuate the misconception that there are two of them. Cynthia Torman, the one pilot of the DRS suits has no intention of correcting this perception. (DRS is Disaster Relief Suit. Name the prototype is refered to in the novel. In game name is slightly different.)
  13. Statesman is a tool. Thank all that is decent and good he doesn't work here anymore, lol.
  14. And yes, Training 1 and Training 2 (Copy of Freedom from what looks to be about 2-3 weeks ago) are up.

    Windows 7

This is really too broad a question. The reasoning, yes many people do have 0 problems running Win 7 on this game, but that's because The Win7 RC runs on the same basic kernel as Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2. However, there are alot of caveats to add to that.

Windows 7 does quite a few things different with that base than Vista does.
Windows 7 while a "Release Candidate" has not been through the intense testing that Mobo, RAM, video card, etc manufacturers will put it through in the next few months.
These manufacturers will use multiple setups and make several modifications to drivers and software only to have a portion of users describe the exact issue you are describing. Why?
Because it's impossible to know every configuration of hardware, software and accessories and to prepare for every poor interaction. And that's on a fully realized OS. Companies spend millions on technical support for this very reason.

On Windows 7, you don't have this kind of backup because it's not October yet. People like myself who do this testing and attempt to break the system over the next few months should definately be trying Windows 7. (I've installed it on 3 laptops, one virtual pc and a mac already) People who don't know how to fix these issues during a pre-release should not install pre-release software.

We have a saying "When you live on the bleeding edge of technology, you're going to get cut a few times."

It's a pretty standard marketting thing. You create a binary progression (1,2,4,8) but you skew the final tier by adding something extra for very little. In this case, you get a 5th slot by paying 1 penny more.

The topic is about Fire/ trollers, thus the posting of it in a Controller forum.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Woah ho there buddy, don't get smart with me. I was the one saying we should keep it on topic to Fire Trollers.

AND YOU POSTED IT IN PLAYER GUIDES! NOT CONTROLLERS!
  20. [ QUOTE ]
post 32 fire is fine with just imps.. especially fire/rad or fire/storm, its slow end endpiggish before SOs and really all the way until you get all your toggles slotted for end reductions.

i would say the best solo'er all teh way through is any mastermind. you dont have to worry about end in the low levels and your pets get in inherent bonus to acc and dmg just by you being there. you rarely die so debt isnt as much of an issue also. thats my pick

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, but they just don't have that oomph until 33 or 34 and you've got some slots in Imps.. then they fly and post 40 weeeeee.

I was going to stay away from other ATs because even though the title doesn't specify, the body seemed to indicate Fire trollers only... but since you started it *eg*
MM's are good for soloing for obvious reasons. On the hero side there are a few good builds out there. Energy/* Blasters on the hero side make for some wild solos. I set the diff on my Nrg/Nrg at Unyielding at level 2 and never looked back.

Of course we all know that said energy blaster can also be a pox upon any team if played badly.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Hey all, every once and a while I get this nagging urge to push a fire troller to 32 for Fire Imps. Lately I've been loving soloing invincible missions early on (approx lvl 20) with my other characters and have been wondering what the best build for me would be to roll to have the best chances of getting those imps in a timely fashion.

I've tried Fire/Storm in the past and enjoyed it up til 18 when I lost interest. I'm looking into Fire/Rad now and would like to know if this really is the be all end all troller build I hear so much about. If I can solo with it, i'll probably love it.

    Thanks for any input

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's hard to get a bad set with Fire trollers despite all the DOOM heard over the last few weeks. Kin, Rad and Emp all have a good combination of buffs, self heals and debuffs (except Emp on the debuffs)

The key with any Fire/* is that you can't really count on being able to do much damage UNTIL you reach the mid 30's Until then you'll need Air Sup, Flurry, Sands of Mu, etc to keep your damage going if you really want to solo.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I haven't read through the whole thread, but with safeguard and mayhem missions, heroes and villains can get the jet pack (equivalent to Fly) at level 5 (or 6) and the jump pack (equivalent to SuperJump) at level 10. These will easily tide you over until level 14 when you can get a "real" travel power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Have to definately agree with you here.
And I also have found that Swift + Hover with a couple slots for flight speed gives a pretty nice speed for those folks that don't want to muck about with bunny hopping or hurdle.
Add the Jump Jet (come on, if you haven't shelled out the $10 by now, I can't help you) and you can get across all but the largest zones in a respectable time.
Once you get at least 2 DO's in each, you'll be wondering why you even want fly.
I actually held off getting fly at 14 on two of my characters because I wanted other powers and with 3 SO's in both swift and hover I was zipping along alot faster than unslotted level 14 was ever going to take me... and with alot less end drain.
