  1. Thank you for making this and all the other CoH videos you've made over the years. They've all been excellent.

    I do this too.
  3. I just watched the video you posted and, as someone who's been an amateur board and card game designer in my spare time for about 20 years now, I know how much time and effort you've been putting into an idea with as much theme, backstory, and MATH as City of Heroes!

Thank you for all the work you're doing on this project!
  4. Awesome! Thanks for making this!
  5. Hope you have an awesome birthday!
  6. I just got a Droid phone last night and I'd be all over a CoH app of any kind. Bring it on!

Just take a bit more time switching servers - and you'll have a nice, long list with a full count of characters, AT/side breakdown, most used powersets, etc.
I've kept a running list of my characters' AT, powersets, pools, and various other things in Excel for years now. I'm not a serious badge-hunter, but I try to get the event badges on my 50s and current mains at the very least, so I track that info in Excel as well. I'll take a look at the Info Tracker and see if it offers anything additional that I'd like to track. Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh definitely. It'll take me several hours to get all those logins done.
  9. Hi all,

Does anyone know if the new 8th anniversary login badge is account-wide or just character specific?

I remember reading something about the event/anniversary login badges becoming account-wide awhile back here on the forums, but I can't find any mention about whether or not it actually happened yet.

    Thanks.

  10. I honestly like the look you have there already.
  11. Now that we have the Celestial wings, I would love to see a variety of other wing styles made of energy.

Check out 4:14 of this video to see an example of what I'm talking about:

  12. I hope you had a very happy birthday, Dispari!
  13. Just a thought I had:

What if the major plans the devs have in store for Dominators isn't that they're getting access to new powerSETS, but that they're getting access to new powerset CATEGORIES... Namely, melee attack and ranged attack?

What if you could make a Dom using a Control set primary and an Assault set OR a Melee set OR a Ranged set for your secondary?

This would allow new Dominators to specialize in one type of damage-dealing and would give them MANY more powersets to choose from.

    Just a thought.

  14. I love the think tank option! Can we PLEASE have additional tank styles so we can put it *over* standard heads? A tank full of water would be awesome to use for making aquatic characters who are able to escape the confines of their watery home!

  15. This is not a site I would have expected to find anything CoH related, and yet I did:

Has anyone else had CoH pop up unexpectedly somewhere?

  16. I'd like to chime in and cast my vote for the AT-specific forums remaining separate.

Not all new players will use the "playstyle" tab of the character creator and nothing in-game (outside of the character creator) describes to a new player which "playstyle" their current character uses. But every player will have to choose an *Archetype* during character creation and their in-game ID and info screens will tell them what their AT is... so those are the forums new players will be searching for here.
  17. Huh. I was unaware that choosing a power from one career track eliminated the other career track as an option entirely.

    I stand corrected.

Yes, each VEAT does add 25 combos... because they can choose UP TO two primary sets and UP TO two secondary sets, they actually have 5 to choose from for primary and 5 for secondary.

    As an example:

    Arachnos Soldier has...

    Primary Power Sets:
    1 Arachnos Soldier
    2 Crab Spider Soldier
    3 Bane Spider Soldier
4 Arachnos Soldier + Crab Spider Soldier
5 Arachnos Soldier + Bane Spider Soldier

    Secondary Power Sets:
    1 Training and Gadgets
    2 Crab Spider Training
    3 Bane Spider Training
4 Training and Gadgets + Crab Spider Training
5 Training and Gadgets + Bane Spider Training

And yes, every Arachnos Soldier will have the Arachnos Solider and Training and Gadgets power sets listed in their personal info and in their enhancement management screen, but if the character don't actually HAVE any powers from those sets, then those sets shouldn't be regarded as a powerset possessed by that specific character. That's how I look at it.

  19. Don't forget the epic archetypes. They add another 52 combos for us to try:

Peacebringer: 1 primary and 1 secondary... 1 combo.

Warshade: 1 primary and 1 secondary... 1 combo.

Arachnos Spider: 5 primary combos and 5 secondary combos... 25 combos.

Arachnos Widow: 5 primary combos and 5 secondary combos... 25 combos.
  20. I wanted a way to quantify my toons' progress on their path towards uber incarnate-ness (mainly just so I could compare one toon to another) so I've come up with the following system using a 0 to 50 scale. This determines a character's ilvl ("incarnate level") and as much as I'm opposed to using "i" anything, I've yet to come up with a better/easier abbreviation to use so please feel free to suggest other names for it!

    **********
A lvl 50 toon starts at ilvl 0.
Each unlocked incarnate slot gives a toon +1 ilvl.
Each ability in an incarnate slot gives a toon +X ilvls (where X = the tier of the ability (1, 2, 3, or 4)).

A toon can have a maximum ilvl of 50 (when the toon has all 10 slots unlocked and a tier 4 ability in each of those slots).
    **********

Using this system, my character with the most progress is Black-thorn (a scrapper on Infinity) with ilvl 20 (out of a possible 25 since only 5 slots are available right now). He has 5 slots unlocked and a tier 3 ability in each of those slots.

My next highest is Clockwork Gray (a brute on Union) who is ilvl 7 (2 slots unlocked with a tier 2 and a tier 3 ability slotted).

All of my other 50s are ilvl 4 or lower (only 1 slot unlocked and a tier 3 ability (or lower) slotted, if any).

Granted, this system doesn't take into account any future "unlockables/improvables" that will become available via the incarnate system, however, I think it works well for the time being. Any thoughts or suggestions? Do you like it? Hate it? Are you still reading this?! :-p

  21. Pretty cool! I'm sure you put a ton of time and effort into this. Keep it up!
  22. I was having this issue about a month ago and was directed to rollback my video driver or turn down my Ultra Mode setting for Water Effects. I turned the setting down and I haven't seen the issue since then.
