Unless SK specifically says it, I'm going to give a god honest try at joining.

[I have to catch you in-game, but I'll be joining ERA with Hexstone, my villain]

Hey, we're not as bad as WoW's community!
...yet.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! -
Quote:Thats horse hockey.Would be an argument if it wasn't a service people pay for, as it's not gone free to play just yet I think it's valid for customers to raise a complaint if they have excessive service outage.
Paying or not, downtime to fix things or because things CAN AND WILL go wrong does not mean for the playerbase to ***** and moan about being reimbursed. Anyone who asks for such is an entitled whiner. -
Seriously.
Every game has bugs, instability issues, and more. Stop acting all entitled just because the devs are trying to make sure when the flood gates open, we don't have a bunch of mapservers, crashes, and whatever else there could be.
If you think that you are entitled to something just because they are trying to fix things or because this is a game and it will have problems, then you might as well be playing WoW. You may just get what you want there. -
Quote:Yes, go ahead, make a Exalted RP community. Why would that be?
I haven't actually played on Infinity yet, but extrapolating from the majority mentioning it on the forums, I concluded that at least there appears to be a large (forum) desire for an Exalted RP-community.
If you want to split the community further and promote cliques even more.
We don't need more servers with an RP community. We have Virute, Union, Pinnacle, and apparently Infinity. That should, and is enough. If you don't like the communities on any of the servers listed then you might as well RP through AIM, because the same thing will just happen on Exalted.
As roleplayers, we should be there to help each other, not split apart further. -
Just going to jump into say-
If you honestly think that Exalted is a good place for a RP community, you have another thing coming.
But I may pop in once and a while to feed my natural gamer side (AKA PVE, no RP) -
PART I: DEATH
Two Weeks Ago
Croatoa
The darkness of Croatoa, a place of magic and turmoil, was home to many things, such as the slumbering giant Jack in Irons and his minions. While sleep covered many of the inhabitants, few remained up. Some were on guard and some just watched as the creature known as Sally swam the small sea in Croatoa, happy for once to be undisturbed. It was in this night of Croatoa that a figure moved.
Silver armor moved with grace and speed in the night-filled forests that were home to many fights but also filled with plenty of magic on its own. This is why the armored figure was here, for the magic to say the least. The armored figure stopped at a small cliff that rose above the lake that wisps danced around at night time. A sky blue eye in the left socket and a goldenrod eye in the right socket watched the wisps danced. This figure sighed as he shifted out of his armor, casting the needed changing spell to be placed in his robes that he used for more mystical operations that didn't require him to fight.
As the moon rose above Croatoa, the figure floated down closer to the lake and floated over the middle of it. The wisps moved, dancing around him, while he closed his eyes, extending his arms out in the separate directions they naturally pointed to. Magic flowed up this man's body, covering the silver and white robes he wore. His eyes looked up to the moon as he began to chant in an dialect that had been lost in time. Runes now lit the robes, the ground, and the sky as images flashed around the man. His head settled back into the right position as he watched the images. His arms slowly lowered as he nodded to himself.
Slowly, whatever spell had been casted stopped. The man came to a landing in the water, and he walked out of the small lake. However, he was interrupted in disappearing by two figures floating down before him. The heterochromia eyes of the figure looked to both figures and arched an eyebrow. The two figures before him were his friends and also his advisors in being a new hero.
The first man was an elderly looking man, who retained his full head of hair and powerful gaze within green eyes. His grey robes covered his body, but this did not trouble the man, but his solemn gaze did. Rare was it that this man, the mentor of his he had come to call Gabriel, held such a solemn gaze. Gabriel had lost emotions to better protect this world and to better teach those who would need the right path for learning magic instead of the dark path that tainted so many possible students of the arcane arts that Gabriel has become a master of.
The second man, who had hair as black as a raven, also held a solemn gaze. This man was Alistair Greysword, the somewhat infamous magical hero known as Dr. Warlocke and was one of the few friends that he held dear to him. The two were almost like brothers, give or take a few qualities. The solemn gaze came from grey eyes this time, and the two being here with such solem gazes made him worry.
"What is it?" came the voice of the man.
"Raphael is dead, Christopher"
Those words sent the man, named Christopher, to his knees in shock. His eyes were wild as Alistair stepped forward, crouching down and wrapping a black cloak around his friend. Alistair could only watch as Christopher looked to Gabriel, then him, almost in wild fury and fear rolled into one hard look.
"Who...who did it, Alistair? Who killed my son?!"
"Hexstone."
((OOC: This is my first attempt at writing CoH stuff that hopefully made sense. Short compared to the others up here, but I'll get them into a longer, better format :P This will first focus on the hero, Shadeknight, and then my villain Hexstone.)) -
I may have to hop in on this, heh.
My main character is being messed around with to fit within Dresden Files stuff. A WIP, but I'd love to get a part of this. -
This thread makes me want to make daily / weekly threads, each with a topic or more to talk about that'd bring some good RPers out to discuss RP-y stuff.

Quote:'community' channel?I'm in a similar boat to False really. Came from Defiant and I now have a few 50s on Freedom. It's nice and I've found some good players/friends, but there isn't really a sense of a community, and also all the very active channels there seem to be full!
Is there a main sort of community channel on Virtue?
Thanks in advance.
VirtueUnited and Radio Virtue seem to be the 'community' channels. If you want teaming, it varies. -
If its iTrials, look for ones run by Shadeknight too. I've only had fails because of people not listening and thats like 2 out of the 15+ runs of Keyes. Others are just as minimal (mind you, I run/ran a lot of BAFs too, so I got that memorized.)

Gemini Park is no longer a hot spot for roleplaying. You may find the hot spots being SG bases and Pocket D.

Quote:Like Shadowe, I don't agree with GG often but this time I will for the sake of, well, that she is right.Trials are the core Incarnate content, and way more complex than solo arcs - so the Trials needed to be planned first
The Praetor Guard are not a 1-group effort, to most regards. Marauder needed two groups, Siege and Nightstar and even Anti-Matter needed three at max. Could you do them 1 group or so forth? Sure, the trials scale for the size. But in regard to us versus them, at their peak power they aren't going to be easy to handle.
We -need- the trials, horrid as they may be, to have the Incarnate content. Like it or not, they are the backbone to us finishing Tyrant (or whatever may be his fate). No random joe schmoe from Paragon is going to be able to tango with Chimera, Mayhem, Dominatrix, etc. You may last long enough, but you wouldn't be able to avoid defeat.
On an unrelated note (I think): I know the Incarnate storyline is kind of shoddily written, but at least they are giving us more 1group+ content besides Giant Monsters (which can be solo'd), Archvillains (Which can be solo'd), Raids (Hami/Mothership. Mothership has been trio'd and less before.), and invasions (Which are typically done in leagues now).
Is a solo path a nice idea? Hell yeah.
As an alternate, time-locked method sure.
As for the note Rsclark made: Read what he said. By the time we had pushed for it, I21's content was settled. This means in a FUTURE ISSUE (22, 23, or further back), solo path will appear most likely. -
Mine is being doopy and won't work for me.
Perhaps for the best. -

Wait. What difference is there between a green colored name and yellow colored name?

Quote:ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)i always get a kick out of completely icly challenging people to arena fights, and watching them scramble for some reason why their supposedly all-powerful level 1 character couldn't possibly fight me in the arena. And i know that's metagaming to some extent and possibly makes me a troll, but screw it. It's funny.
