"They're fun after you make a handfull of macros, overload your screen in trays to the point you can't see your character, and enhance all of your pets exactly right"

All of the melee sets are about being sturdy and doing decent damage. Of course people will want a lot of that. It pleases casuals, and the hardcore people build their melee character to be tough as a tank and as deadly as a missile.
Definitely lots of money in it. Maybe there should be turns in "Free for VIP" set types? -
Quote:Recently took a break from the forums just from busy work and laziness, but probably should do so again until it all cools off.Couple months ago, I was getting irritated with the game and generally.... unpleasant on the boards. Found myself apologizing once per thread, it seemed, for biting someone's head off.
Suggestion?
Just ignore the boards. A week or two, whatever. Peek back in, see if you still feel like grumping at someone, if so, give it another week.
The break helps, trust me. (At least I *hope* I haven't bitten anyone's head off lately - haven't intended to.) -

Thanks.
I know making a thread for it makes me sound like an attention horse(Gotta be PG here!), but it's mainly because I felt bad about being such a baby and wanted to apologize without it being overshadowed by people who didn't read threads still telling me how wrong I am :P. -
Quote:A costume is customizable and you can wear it everywhere. You can't customize pets and you're certainly not going to have them out in trials. I can see it for character concepts but it fits to such a limited concept and some people may THINK it fits their character concept when they're just trying to force a way to impliment their character to every new thing that comes out.I assume the vanity pet adds to the character concept, much the way costume parts do. I guess you could ask "what do people actually do with costume parts besides pose and take pictures with them?" It's not really what you "do" with it, it's how it completes your character--if that kind of thing is important to you (which for some it definitely is)
I've never bought a vanity pet, but I often get more excited about the release of a new costume set than the latest power set. -
Quote:Where does it say staff will not be in April?
- We've known for a good month that Staff was being released in April.
- People were constantly asking in March why it wasnt here yet.
- First week of April and people asking/demanding for a reason why its not the first item in April.
- People complain that items are being released that they dont want at the moment.
- People should take a step back and look at the amount of items we've had [both free + paid] since Freedom. I think 7 powersets so far in less than a year?
- People are funny.
] was a non purchase for me, after seeing so many people in Atlas with it and thinking to myself that it actually looks pretty cool, im tempted to purchase it!

Quote:Oh I've moved on from certain events, if that's what this is implying.Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West.
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever; I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
I'll be quite honest and say I'm horrible at interpreting(sp?) poems. -

Quote:As far as I know, only ones that can be disabled are the large ones under your default health/end bar location. The ability to disable them is a VIP exclusive option though.Ya, they have those things scattered all over the place and it comes off feeling really... petty...
At least give us an option to disable them..
Also goodness I love your avatar. -

Buying access to say, Alpha slot and one slot of your choice could be reasonable, as well as access to BAF and LAM. The Incarnate System may as well be the only reason some people are staying VIP since they're at such a high reward level. I still have ways to go

Yes I've been highly over the top the past few days about the staff problem. My fiance died around this time two years ago. I don't expect pity, I do not WANT pity because I'm tired of people bringing it up to me only to apologize ever since. I tend to become scrooge around this time of the year and it gets taken out on others when it really shouldn't.
Zwillinger is a good mod. I have nothing against him. I simply felt ridiculed by his hope-raising statement of "my favorite".
God forbid the first thing that comes to my head when I hear "my favorite" isn't Napolean Dynamite. -
I love how everyone thinks I'm trying to cut Zwill's head off. While it would make a nice side dish, I am not trying to attack Zwill. He's a great mod and a funny dude. I just think it could have been phrased a hell of a lot better. It was set up to get our hopes back up after no word of staff from my perspective, but instead it ends up being a reference to an eight year old movie.
By the way you guys are kissing so much butt you can probably tell what the staff has had for breakfast. -
We're already headed down that road. Just close your eyes, spin around, and the first thing you see in the room will be the next vanity pet. Or a random animal generator.
-
Quote:I know what it's from.Lol, did you miss the point where someone mentioned those words were a reference to a movie? No, I didn't care for Nepolean Dynamite but hey, at least after someone pointed out the reference I can say "Oh, well then Z was probably doing that, yeah..."
Just google Liger and 'my favorite' and I got this:
Deb: What are you drawing?
Napoleon Dynamite: A liger.
Deb: What's a liger?
Napoleon Dynamite: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.
Can you quit with the butthurt now?
And yes, I get the joke NOW. It's his "favorite" because liger quote etc.
It was phrased VERY VERY poorly. At this point I could care less about staff not being released today and more on Zwill got us all excited for say a new pack or Hecatombs and instead its more pets.
I'm not trying to personally attack Zwillinger. He's a great mod. His phrasing was just awful and got a lot of people, including myself, doubly dissappointed.
"Oh it's not staff, but it's my favorite item in our line up"
The first thing I think won't be "FAVORITE? OH YOU MEAN FAVORITE LIKE NAPOLEON DYNAMITES FAVORITE ANIMAL WAS A LIGER LOL" -
My main problem was vanity pets were released on top of each other but not powers. :|

Oh the devs have always wanted to improve it, it's just they have to wipe the coding and delete every single SG base out there to make new improved bases. Otherwise we won't see anything new in bases.
Editing the existing code has only made bases attack players. -
Quote:If you treat Badge Titles as in character you might as well acknowledge experience points as well.What I want to know is how many roleplayers presume that their character is actually receiving badges from some sort of municipal authority. Some of them certainly seem to be designed as literal badges, such as Freedom Phalanx Reserve Membership. Who is giving you a badge upon your hundredth defeat of a Fake Nemesis, though? The city, for your outstanding civic duty on the piers of Peregrine Island and the hellscape of Firebase Zulu? The Freedom Phalanx themselves, in anticipation of your later defeat of two hundred clockwork gears and a hundred Freakshow tanks? It's a little odd! Arguably not as odd as getting badges for your work in the Rogue Isles, however.
-
/Willpower is my most common occurence in toons.

As cool as it sounds, the base coding is such a cluster-F that doing anything to it would break the game entirely. I feel like they'd have to completely make something from scratch entirely. This'd take quite awhile.

Quote:I wanted demonic for my hero, but I figured out it becomes "Exorcised" when you turn back to blueside :/.Okay, everyone knows that some people like to...restrict themselves to fit a concept. (There's a thread about it) I was wondering how far that went, and if it went to badges with specific types of significance.
Let's take this to the extreme, someone with every badge one could hope to own.
Accolades:
Demonic. You have a demon inhabiting you, granting you great defensive power.
Archmage. Your study of arcane things (even if your character hates the arcane) grants you a spell to defend yourself.
Force of Nature: The power description states you have been bestowed the fury of the elements for your destructive ways.
Freedom Phalanx reserve: Do I need to go into it?
And there are more, some day jobs, and the like.
Basically, the entire point of this little exercise is to ask, do you incorporate these? Do you ignore them? Do you actively avoid the badge to not even have it a part of your history?
But yes I sometimes do this :3.
