    while were at it, lets all have a big laff at bases/raiding/CoP trial and SG prestige.

    All of the above were effectively the cool stuff when introducing new issues, and all the above are broken, severely.

    how I would have loved to have huge raids against a well designed stocked up base.

    I can see what you are saying guys.

    Since arena way back in i4 there hasnt been a decent mega boost to pvp in 8 issues. Rewards seem to be the big issue here. Taking down decent pvpers is FAR harder a challenge than anything PvE has to offer, however you get no rewards for doing so.

    Trading in 100 separate kills (different toons) in RV for a choice of decent IO's may be a start in RV. It would certainly encourage people to enter the zones.

    Also, allowing event organisers to offer some kind of IO reward to the winners, would certainly help with numbers!
  5. The 'figures' you have quoted are for even level minions. When AV's/EB's (high accuracy/high damage aggro) have a pop, its a different ball game.

    Also, SR is a little less survivable in PvP against certain high accuracy toons and/or debuffs.

    I love it when playing my elec/em blaster in team pvp, and seeing defense based toons loafing about, as I know I can cut through their defenses, no probs at all.

    Where defensive sets hold up however imo, is against targetted debuffs, eg Kins etc, which is a very nice ability.
  6. Banes need buffing..end of. My Bane is currently level 34.

    1) In CERTAIN teams they are OK, not great, but they hold their own. However without external buffs, they suffer. Especially, as to be considered effective as a 'high-imapct' toon, you need to be focussing on bosses/lieuts=high accuracy/high damage aggro.

    Don't get me wrong, with these external buffs, it's great fun, but i had the misfortune of playing in a team where that was not the case, and a slow recharging placate/hide didn't cut it, and I was reduced to piddly blasting, or 'finishing off' an almost dead boss.

    It is a real shame, for when a built up crowd control fires off from hide, you can be an effective AoE killer too.


    2) Soloing, as previously mentioned, is very painful. I would swap surveillance and web cocoon for decent def toggles.


    3) PvP'ing - well an invul scrapper without tactics was able to see through my hide easily enough in sirens, and he was kind enough to participate in a little test. He stood still whilst another bane hit him with surveillance at the same time as I fired off mines (-40%resistance iirc?). Before this wore off (20secs):

    I hit him with BU+executioner strike - placate+stealth strike (both hit) and his health bar hardly flinched :O. I am going to test this further, but something is REALLY broken here.

    What has annoyed me, is the one saving grace I initially perceived, was unlike Assassin Strike, you didn't need the target to stand still for a sec, indeed, the executioner strike even has a small range. However if the pvp damage is THAT pitiful, it won't really matter. It just relates to the Bane spider being relegated in PvP to the stauts of 'Poor mans EM/SR'

    Surveillance could be better with a faster recharge (or even as a toggle )
    Web Cocoon is a nice addition, but as both soldiers can get access to Web Envelope in patron powers, it gives away it's golden egg.


    Overall, I think MOST powersets in this game have something that makes them stand out, giving you that feeling of being 'super-powered'. Currently, I have been really struggling to find ANYTHING about playing a bane to give me that.

    In team PvP situations im with you.

    Soloing in zones, its useful as hell. For example, guessing when a kin is abut to syphon you, pop it, job done.

    The other biggie people forget, is MoG has unyeilding stance properties, allowing you to run and smack bubblers/tk'ers

  12. mmmm, i like the suggestion of using the arena, but cant see it happening unless we get selectable maps.

    As with all things, honesty is a must. If you want CTF,this is a way we could do it. Im thinking of trailing it with some friends first, see how it goes. It's quite simple really, if you want CTF AND you realise for it to work you mustn't cheat, then it is possible. If we can get the names of 8-12 players whom are interested we could give it a go. As for players cheating, I know what iwould say to players in my team I saw cheating

    Now, for the other issues, I agree with the following:

    1) Phase shift should be banned for all players, except the FLV/FLH.
    2) As TG mentioned the FLV/FLH may be succeptable to AoE powers, but unless they are specifically targetted by single target attacks, im sure they could survive just fine. Especially if the FLV/FLH was a granite brute/any Tank.

    3) Travel powers could be limited to sprint and speed boost.

    4) I cant see farmers etc causing a big issue, however, if they do, we could always do this on test.

    Again, im not saying this is a game for the general pvp communitity, as indeed it would be abused severely. All im sayng is a group of pvp'ers like ourselves that crave CTF could manage to do this as long as we can trust the others not to cheat. The minute i spotted someone cheating i'd name and shame them, and they wouldn't get invited to future events.

    So are there 8-12 peeps with either heroes or vills that could want to play CTF badly enough, o warrant giving this a go?
  13. OK guys, as the devs kindly haven't given us a capture the flag area in zones or arena , i've an idea...

    Before I organise another competition, i want your feedback on my thoughts:

    OK, this will take place in RV. One villain (KNOWN AS THE FLAG VILLAIN or FLV) will sit in the train station and hold a Wakey insp.
    A hero will do the same (FLAG HERO FLH), at an as of yet undecided part of the map.

    Now, for this to work we need roughly the same number of heroes to villains.

    Now heroes will DEFEND the flag villain in the train station. Villains must enter the train station and attempt to 'trade' with the Flag villain. If they manage to do this, the FLV will give the Wakey to the person attempting the trade.
    This person must then make it back to a Judge (located very close to the Flag hero) and hand the judge the Wakey.

    The Judge will the brodcast a score.

    Now, stay with me on this (hehe)

    lets say we have 2 hero teams of 6 and 2 villain teams of 6. One will defend their FLV or FLH, whilst the other team attempts to retrieve the wakey.

    If at any point the person carrying the wakey is killed, they must use the wakey to rez, hence the 'flag' returns back to the FLV/FLH.

    Now for this to work requires some genuine honesty!! No other Wakeys must enter the zone at all. Only the FLV/FLH must hold ANY wakeys(flags)

    Obviously the defending teams are NOT allowed to kill the FLH/FLV either lol. Once either the HeroJudge or Villain Judge holds 5 wakeys that side is the winner.

    Its a simple plan, and could work with as little as 8 players on heroes and 8 on villains (2 teams of 3 (attack and defend) on heroes and vills, and one FLV/FLH and one hero Judge/ 1 Villain judge.

    Ive thought it through, and with some good suggestions, support, and everyone genuinely looking for fun, this could work.

    Capture the flag is always an awesome addition to any pvp game, and I think we could get it started here.

    I would like to trial it on union, and then move it to test, where we could get some really huge fights going! Maybe with some red name support...



    Suggestions welcome.

    If you think i'm mad, feel free to say so, but please leave a decent opinion why it couldnt work.

  17. erm i think the tk nerf is a little over the top. With insp stacking becoming available in i12, people will be entering the arena with all large insps anyway. I dont have tk on any of my toons, but apart from the exploit (which ive not encountered, but would just leave a match if it was used), i have never considered it overpowered in any way shape or form.

    in fact, I find it easier to kill with SS in team pvp, over EM!

    Yes team tanking is all about the taunting and very little scranking, however, if I see a squishy on 30% health they are getting a koblow, before i go back to taunting. The reason i find SS gets me more kills, is the range component to KOblow. Vastly overlooked, in a fast and frantic team pvp match, this gives it a huge edge over EM. With EM you have to get truly up close and personal for ET to hit, which will cost you time trying to catch an agile opponent.

    Tier 7 : Double Pwnka : To be used with Telepwnetic Killage.This power must be used immediatelly after Telepwnetic Killage toggle is turned off and the target dies.This power ressurects the target and instantly kills him again while in res animation sending a tell "GGOWNEDLOLZA". Recharge: Well who cares sucks power.

    Tier 8 : Superior Lolowned blast: Well this is the snipe of the set. With this power you can snipe all noobs in the Moonbases that devs plan to put in future issues. Basically this is the equivelant of the gaint orbital lasers of doom but the land version where u blast the moonbase to pieces and you broadcast: "One small psi blast for a blaster,one huge pwnnage for noobs." Recharge: This power is expected to be locked till issue 92 when moonbases will be introduced in the game.

    Tier 9 : well is undecided yet but i hear the devs are between a totally new power called iWin and a toggle called Canttouchthisnoob.: Using this power a huge red sign hovers over your head blinking with huge red letter IWIN IWIN.Dont worry this is the casting animation.2 seconds later you blow paragon to pieces. Can be slotted with Interrupt reduction. Recharge: 0.1 milliseconds but dont worry can be slotted with recharge as well.

    Replace the Tier 8 with Lawl@Firekin-1 pwn: Activating this power on a farming map will cause all foes to die, and return all influence to the team at a multiplied rate (I heard Avagadros constant mentioned somewhere). As a secondary effect all Fire/Kins in the game will instantly have their names changed to; Second class pl'er, and their battle cries will be set to;"please please invite to team.". Can be slotted with 2x108 LkGmblr+rch enh, which are kindly provided at charachter creation screen.
