I know that Frostwork is a highly occasional and very skippable power but I still prefer to have it. It helps a lot to keep those pesky F.Kins alive during the Mo runs
On the other hand I almost never use Blizzard on teams and I never use it when soloing, so I followed yor advice and replaced it with Maneuvers.
Now, I have around 52% Def to Ranged, 40% to E/N, 30% to AoE, 26% to Melee and around 20% to everything else, which should be more than enough...

Hey folks. I have a Cold/Ice Defender that I'd like to dust off and IO. My main goal is capped Def to Ranged and as much +Rech as possible as I've skipped Hasten. I'm more of a Scrapper junkie and I don't have much experience in building defenders. So I ask, is there something I'm missing to improve him?
Any critique greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do any of you remember his absolutely brilliant CoH website?

If you can find the slots Midnight Grasp likes Damage. In fact looking at Hero Stats it is in 2nd place to Shadow Maul for damage dealt. Personally I'd drop slots out of Shadow Punch and Shadow Maul to slot this.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to agree with this one, Midnight Grasp is your 2nd main attack, slot it with 3 DAM SO, use it, love it. Dunno how could I miss this one..
As far as Siphon Life is concerned I think that it is a [censored] power. I used to have only Siphon life, used to have both Siphon Life and Aid Self, used to have Aid Self only, and TBH I prefer the latter one.
If you want to fll your attack chain get energy torrent or LBE, both deal about the same damage as Smite and both are ranged.
Also I'd try to fit at least 1 more EndRed enhancemet into all your toggles, even with DC you will be running out of end vey often. -
Persoanlly I'd drop Siphon Life from this build, it's got way too long recharge and way too small heal, get Aid Self instead. The 2nd problem of DM/Invul is that it is pretty end hungry so you might want to get conserve power instead of the Petrifying Gaze. Also I'd drop Shadow Puch, if you want another attack get AS instead. Oh and I'd try to fit ToF in, it's a great control power and a great TH debuff
Other then that this build looks pretty decent to me, enjoy your scrapper -
It will be hard indeed but it is worth it
And for me it'll be the only excuse to use my scrapper
-
Hey folks!
After I9 went live I've been planning my scrapper's respec and I came up with this build:

According to the hero builder with this build my healing factor will be about 317%, this means that my average percent of hp recovered per second will be about 1.32%. For comparison regen scrappers average healing factor with Fast Healing 3 slotted is 322%. That's 18 HP recovered per second without any +health powers and accolades.. Not too bad for an invuln scrapperNow to the real damage migitation... As you can see I went for almost all secondary powers except Tough Hide and Resist Elements. The 3.75% Defense to all damage but psionics from TH ain't that good tbh, the only reason to take this power is to negate the -def Debuff from Unyielding. Resist Elements however is a much more useful power.. Even though it provides only 8.7% to elemental damage it is still our main protection against those nasty flamethrowers. Before I9 I'd drop Fighting power pool but now with those tasty set bonuses we can easily skip RE
Instead we will enhance all our Res powers with at least 3 Aegis Enhancements. Including default Invincibility defense buff it will give us about 17% Defense to Fire and Cold damage, not bad at all. Now to our S/L resistance. Some people dont like tough but I think that it is a great power. It provides 17% resistance to S/L damage.. Combinend tought with all our other invl powers we will provide us 68% resistance to smashing and lethal damage. For comparison it's better than Fire tankers's Fire Shield resistance (47%) and almost as good as FS+Tough (71%). Not too shabby for a Scrapper, eh?
So why did I write all this? Dunno, this is just another illustration of how can IOs actually affect the characters.
Any comments and corrections are welcome
And excuse me for any spelling/grammer mistakes that I've made -
Not to mention the Earth/Storm is also great in PvP.. A good earth/storm can hold an /invul scrapper with Unyielding and Unstoppable running (Trust me, I've tried it on my scrapper
)
-
Quantum Scorpio - Nova/Human Warshade
ScorpioMAN - DM/Invul/Body Scrapper
Both without vengeance -
[ QUOTE ]
I also team a lot on Union with another Greek friend known as White Death (aka "I have about 20 lvl 50s but I'm still a n00b").
[/ QUOTE ]Is he still playing this game? I haven't seen him for ages... Also Siru Jim is from Greece as well IIRC
-
Personally I'd drop Siphon life, it's got a way too long recharge time and the healing form it is [censored]. If you want another self heal get Aid Self instead
Also, I'd swap Health for hurdle or at least would reomve those Healing SOs from it. Health can be useful on a Regen scrapper or a tank but it's not actually worth taking on a Dark/Dark scrapper... Oh and get Sould Transfer, It's the only power in game that can mez a Stoner with a GA and Rooted on( mag 37 stun iirc
)
-
I'd like to join with my WS if there's still a place left
-
Here's the build I'm currently using on my Scrapper. As you can see it's a PvP build, and I have to say that it's very end hungry even with 2 end reds in TI and UY. If you aren't planning to use this char in PvP I suggest you to slot your attacks with 3 Dam, 1 Acc and 1 End redux

Yeah, Air superiority is a great attack, altho' it's not actually a knockdown power
[/ QUOTE ]
The offical prima guide states that 1 of the effects of air superiority is 100% knockdown. So if it isn't a knockdown power (as well as damaging & suppressing flight) I don't know wot a knockdown power is!

Ice Slick is a knockdown power, Air superiority is -fly debuff power with a fancy animation that can't be avoided. -
You need to have a successful hit for TH buff to work.
-
Those TH Buffs in Follow Up will increase your accuracy after you've used it, it wont effect the FU itself. Personally I'd slot it with 2 Acc, 3 TH buff and 1 recharge (Altho' it perma out of box and you probably won't need it). Also I suggest you to swap one recharge for an accuracy in all your attacks. Also don't slot resilence, 3 SOs will give you only 3-4% Res to S/L, which isn't worth slots IMO.

Anyway, if I were you I'd get hasten in mid 20s, It comes really handy in prolonged fights. Also I strongly recommend you to remove those DmgRes from Resilience since it will offer you only 8% res 3 slotted. Add TH Buffs to Follow Up instead, especialy if you have only 1 Acc in your attacks. Also I'd definitely get Energy Torrent, it deals descent damage and it's got a pretty wide cone (About 35 Deg. I think)

No recharges in your attacks? What kind of attack chain do you have?

Also IMHO MoG is a worst lvl 38 power among all scrappers secondaries so I'm going to get it at lvl 49 just in-case IH wont be enough to negate all the DMG taken.
[/ QUOTE ]
In your opinion, even though you haven't tried it? MoG is a good power if slotted well and used wisely.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I tried it. More than that, I tried out my bro's level 50 Claws/Regen Scrapper (And my build is pretty much inspired by his build btw) and I have to say that to me it seemed way too weak (compared to my Unstop) and, as Phil already mentioned, too situational.
And IMHO Soul transfer is great (Sunning GA+Rooted FTW!)

As you can see I've got Shockwave at level 32. It's one of your most damaging attack, more than that - it's cone. Try to get it ASAP.
TBH I dont like Laser Beam Eyes very much and I've picked it to get the amazing Energy Torrent, but since Claws is the most end cheap primary powerset it's better than Conserve Power (Especially if you've got stamina)
Also IMHO MoG is a worst lvl 38 power among all scrappers secondaries so I'm going to get it at lvl 49 just in-case IH wont be enough to negate all the DMG taken.
Hope this will help you -
Actually Monkeywrencher is awarded for killing 50 Zues Class titans. And the the one you're talking about is called Master(Mistress) of Olympus
Anyway, I'd like to do it with my Warshade. -
