    Werner deal mostly with Scrappers builds He could have some Brute builds but it would really just be better to ask the Scrapper Forums then just PM Werner because he doesn't reply back for some time now because too many people PM him.


    This is the best AV soloer for a Brute. It is the best for a Scrapper, but it does take a lot of Inf. My build which does 294DPS was about 1.5 bil not too bad but it does cost some. If I were to make the build now it would be about 2.5 Bil easy.

    While I can agree that it's not the best looking it definitely can shine pre granite. In fact my current build I'm working on can go without granite. Soft capped s/l damage.. Near softcap neg/energy defense.. High fire/cold defense.. 30%s/l resistance... And regens health at 60hp/sec. On top of that I still have granite fully slotted for special situations.
  3. No need for apologies. I forgot to inform you guys of a few guidelines I would like to keep: I would like to play a brute and cost of the build is no problem. I make quite a bit of influence playing the market.

    I'm currently thinking dm/energy aura brute.

    Rock armor cost a lot of influence to overcome the penalties of granite. Many would say that your money will go a lot further in other secondaries but I would say that it is the most amazing secondary out there. I have spent well over 2 billion on my build and he is an unstopable killing machine.
  5. Looking for some help. I understand that I'm supposed to have high damage per second... I need endurance to last the fight... And I need to survive the length of the fight.

    Is there a good damage per second calculator or anything out there?
    What is generally considered the king of single target damage red side?
    Basically I need the basics and any tricks you can swing my way.

  6. Yes it is a defensive build that is focused on the AOE powers. Thank you for the input I'll look into it... Currently on my phone.

    The argument that the maximum damage bonus was originally supposed to be 200% is hardly a good one. Many things are not what they were originally supposed to be, but the important question is whether they work or not.
    So, if you were saying that brutes underperform because of this bug you had a point. But somehow I can not see brutes underperforming. Extensive datamining may prove me wrong, but I do not think brutes are weaker than other ATs and need those extra 5%ish more dps.
    Since I mainly play villains and brutes are not exactly my least played AT I would certainly be happy about this bug getting fixed, but somehow I doubt it will happen without Castle taking a good look at AT balance first.
    Fury has a limit. It's unobtainable.
  10. This is a build im working on.. my current ss/sa brute is all recharge and truely is amazing but he is a little out dated i believe. this build focuses more on defense. I might move a few things around so i can add a panacea + hp and the gladiator +3 defense. My build feels a little messy.. so im not really sure if im wasting slots / enhancement placing / etc.

    This build allows capped defense to s/l while in granite form if i add my gladiator.. and just under while not in granite form for the easier maps. he regens 57.7 hp/second while rooted and can run the same speed as a normal character with sprint on. faster if only using granite form and not rooted. the recharge while in granite is pretty much negated with enhancments.. off by 1%.. without using hasten.

    anyway.. thanks for any help

  12. Should I slot for -speed or damage or just throw some endurance reduction in it?
  13. I'm currently working on a farm build with Ss/energy armor. My hope is that with capped defenses and the energy drain going off every 20seconds I'll be pretty darn survivable. Not to mention the knockdowns from footstomp and ball of lightning. Hoping to solo boss farms, but we'll see.
  14. ... Has anyone tried making a capped build without using granite form? I've always loved stone armor, and my stone armor brute pretty much destroys everything and negates all the negative effects of granite, but I've never tried making him without granite form. I would of course keep granite form for emergencies.

    I stole all my purples off of him to make my ss/sd but I'm thinking of revamping my stone armor and re-purple him. I haven't really put much thought into It other than this post so I haven't even tried in mids yet... At work... Anyway just curious if anyone has tried.

    thanks for the help.. im showing 41.7 defense to smashing and lethal on your build.. do you know if that is with someone within range of invincibility or is that the maximum number of peeps within range?

    I'm trying build a soft capped defense and resistance build. Has anyone come pretty close to this? I've started a mids build but I was hoping someone had a pretty good build or some good advice. I've never tried /inv before.

  19. To help with the boss damage mitigation. I have a fully io'd out ss/sd and while I can defeat boss spawns it is not very safe.

    IMO the resistances plus some melee defense would be good for boss spawns.

    From what I've heard, a lot of people skip shadow maul.

    Darkest night lowers a target and surrounding enemies tohit and damage.

    As far as build suggestions I'd try the scrapper forum.
  23. Ok, good point on the resistance. I'm unshelving my old ss/sa brute and while he is already unstopable i'd still like to tweak him a bit. Currently he's focused on speed and recharge.
  24. Is it best to softcap for smashing and lethal first?

    Most attacks usually contain one or the other along with whatever other types of damage in the powers. Some attacks contain more than one type of damage.. I.e. Lethal and energy. So with my defense in smashing or lethal is there a chance that portion of the damage will be missed?
