I'm old and cynical and my life experiences thus far really have taught me that you'll starve to death waiting for that free lunch.

So we get an announcement today that we can have a free character transfer, for 6 days. But, we'll lose SGs, Prestige, and all sorts of stuff and possibly our names too.

At face value it's fine. Great move to a server of your choice. Except that in the EU you can't move outside the EU. So unless you're fluent in French or German you have a choice of exactly two. The one you're on, Defiant or Union, or the one you're not on. If you're French or German and don't speak another language, then you're in even bigger stook.

Reading between the lines, I've noticed that other MMOs only tend to do this when servers are either too full, or too empty. It could of course be a nice Xmas freebie but seriously, if you're a vet of any standing on an English speaking server, you've got toons on both and probably not enough slots on either for all of them.

If you're on the NA servers, then great might be nice for you - but I doubt it. This is odd coming out of the blue with an initial: The server transfer service is unavailable. Now it is, and it's free? So, this just makes me go "Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, what are the blighters up to?"

ok made him 50 on LRSF last night. He's incredibly squishy so any suggestions are still very welcome.

If you take something like the old British TV series the Avengers or New Avengers, or even Stingray and Thunderbirds, then you've got a perfect model for heroic type MMs.

Did some checking and if you enable chat logs it looks like combat is included in that.

But the original question is still good. I can't reasonably check in a running battle how well a power is working. Is there any way to check via logs or some other way to scrutinise your combat history?

I've got Lightning Field on Scarlet, and I've currently slotted it twice: Energy Manipulator; Chance to Stun, and Performance Shifter; Chance for +Endurance.

I can tell that the Stun is working because occasionally the target cycles through the animation, but I can't see if the Perf Shifter's working. I've checked combat chat but can't see anything happening there. I wanted to go through logs. Is that possible?

I've almost got my MM to 50. He's 49.5 currently and will make the ding on Monday on the LRSF all things being equal.

He's a thugs/poison (which you possibly gathered from the thread title;-)) and he's my first MM to get past lvl 23ish - so I'm in no way an experienced MM player.

I'm trying to work out a build for him in Mids, and frankly I'm running into problems - I also don't often use Mids and I'm not very good with it.

So what would you guys who have better knowledge of MMs and Mids advise? I'd be happy for any suggestions - but I have a couple of criteria to bear in mind: Fly is the travel power for thematic reasons. The guy wears an encounter suit that gives him the poison powers and I recently won Tech Wings which go nicely with it. So fly is a must and I've taken Mako's patron pool since thematically that seems to fit best - but I'm not wedded to it in the way I am with Fly, but the patron pool needs to fit (assuming I take any patron powers.)

I've experimented a little with pools and too the Leadership pool (I did an earlier thread on that) which seems to be pretty good with the build, but again, I'm open to suggestions.

Also the guy doesn't have a vast fortune so suggesting a build full of purple sets is a non-starter. IOs and the cheaper sets is a good starting place - maybe an initial build and then future slotting is the way to go.

Any and all help/builds would be appreciated.

I'd be quite wary of assuming that GR will allow such a fundamentally game changing mechanism "just like that". We know very well that what Positron says in RL and what actually happens, whilst not being strictly inaccurate, are often very different interpretations of expectation.

But I will probably create new characters first to investigate what new goodies we have and then use some existing toons to maybe explore. Certainly Scarlet and a couple of others will NOT switch sides. The caveat of course is that's all based on what I understand thus far. It may be there are game reasons which will direct her in a certain path, but I would resist anything that takes her towards anything close to villainous.
