I am talking about the time distance between (2b) and (3b).
I expect this to happen a lot... -
I am sure that after they implement that command, you will find out how awkward will be to use it and you will also demand to fix the actual bug...
-
People always ask things from devs... It's easy.
What I will propose, is not for the devs to hear (like they do..., but that's another thing...), but for the PvP population:
More public PvP event organizers. -

I do PvP when PvPed against.
[/ QUOTE ]But I did fight Shannon, here the proof!
About OP:
TG has made his points about CoX PvP known for long time through this board but I think what triggered the "exit thread" is that he grieved from an AV...
I always thought that AVs come out at RV after the 4th pillbox takeover and there is a warning so people can avoid the specific pillbox. If people decide to use the environment for their gain, they do it to downgrade PvP experience?
Arena is here for PvP without NPCs, I don't understand why people that disagree with the NPCs existence in PvP zones, come to those anyway instead of using Arena... -
Although it is very common, not many people reporting it doesn't help, as it is not escalating as a widespread problem and also support have not enough data about it so they work almost blindly to fix it.
-

Right now I'm almost jumping up'n'down. I'm so happy!
[/ QUOTE ]Until you realize the awkwardness from the time that you will be de-synced until the time that you will find out that you're de-synced and issue the command.
Hopefully, as GR say, trying to fix the problem has bigger priority than building that command... -
There is no need to ask me what tankers I have.
It's like asking a warshade, what is his primary...
I have two lovely Ice/* tankers and I am enjoying them very much.
They are very team oriented, thing that I totally love as I hate soloing.
Both are nice herders (to make the best out of teammates' AoE powers) and also they are the team's punching bag as they aren't focused on damage dealing.
I've tried other tanker primary powersets, but they didn't seem to fit my tanker playstyle so they have been deleted early enough to let me focus to what I believe I am good enough for my friends and I to enjoy:
Ice tanking! -
I've really enjoy my fire/fire one, especially when paired with a nice herding tanker.
-
Now if only they made the game client to auto-detect when it's out of sync instead of waiting for the player to guess it (a guess that usually comes way too late and leads to embarrassing results...), it will be cooler!

Personally, I think it would be easier to force a server resynch on using the /stuck command, or a new /resynch command.
[/ QUOTE ]
Guess what! -
Ah, it was my search fu after all...
Ok, it seems that enough people are angry about the situation, so I have to ask:
Did all of you contacted support yet and provided info that they requested? -
Why only EU players have that problem?
Either my search fu is only strong at EU forum (I've discovered several threads about the ghost bug, the oldest is from spring '07, but nothing at US forum), either entire US has 100% excellent routers and all the faulty routers popped up at Europe only... -

Unfortunatelly /stuck command doesn't fix it for me.
A /resync command on the other hand, will be a good solution. But if they build a resync function, they could also make the client to resync anyway at each zoning instead of adding it as a command, don't you think?
I believe that the problem is two-fold:<ul type="square">[*]They can't replicate the problem in-house[*]Not enough people provide info about the problem[/list] -
[ QUOTE ]
As I have stated earlier in this thread, we have already verified that for some people the problem has been solved through changes in local configuration. Solved, not bypassed or worked-around. If asking a player to change a firewall config, change an antivirus config, change a router config, update network drivers permanently solves the problem for that player ... well, that's a solution and not a workaround.

I'd really appreciate that we not see posts that imply our support staff are incompetent and that we're trying to sweep the issue under the rug.
[/ QUOTE ]
As it seems I misunderstood your post about "fixing it locally". I thought that support department was discriminating people with that problem, between users that will contact support and those that won't for x, y, z reason, with the later been left at their own destiny.
I apologize for it but we both know that I have a long history of such behavior about the support dep. however please note that at the same time I am communicating with them about the problem, thing that I wouldn't done if I was actually believed what you suggest. -

Do you run a wireless connection or not? Do everyone that go desync run a wireless?
[/ QUOTE ]LAN cable, wireless disabled, no other PCs attached to ADSL gateway, problem didn't existed before I12
[ QUOTE ]
I've run Pingplotter and my address towards plaync's address.. sort of gets some "spikes" if i read it correctly at address 6 or 7. If it is related I dont know.
[/ QUOTE ]I ran it too and submitted it to support dep. No spikes at all but plenty of ghost bug.
[ QUOTE ]
My little thought though is that the desync happens when for a moment we looses some packages on the way.. or they delay/tarry whereevery they do such... on the way back too us.
[/ QUOTE ]Yet started when I12 come out... -
Don't let them persuade you that you did something wrong.
Can't so many people done something to their computers the exact time when I12 come out.
It is preferable to fix the problem on their end, than hoping that everyone with the problem will contact support and "tweak their pc" to eliminate the problem.
Most people will just leave the game instead contacting support as they aren't like us.
Hopefully they will use us to find the problem they caused instead of just giving us instructions to bypass the problem ourselfs and leaving the rest to get tired and abandon the game. -
Griefing =/= Dirty tactics
Although someone that use dirty tactics, proves that is out of good solid ideas/skills whatever that means...
Let them whine. The only thing a petition can actually stand, is if someone is exploiting a bug so there is hardly something to be afraid of. -
[ QUOTE ]
I've had this bug quite bad for the past few days and am currently doing the information exchange dance with Support
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as they don't ask me to compromise my computer's security by disabling my anti-virus or firewall while playing, I am willing to do what they want (instead of what I am paying for)
But some questions are indeed strange:
- Are they configured correctly? (talks about anti-virus or firewall software)
What am I supposed to answer to that?
Is anyone willing to have incorrectly configured anti-virus or firewall while knowing it?
Is it possible the answer at this question to be "no"?
- Are you doing anything in particular when you get disconnected, or are you doing nothing specific?
I am not disconnected, I am desyncing while zoning.
Are they sure that we are talking about the same incident?!
I want to cheat, can anyone give me the answer to these two questions please? -
I thought I wasn't affected until I logged in with a character tonight, that I had to use since I11, and desynced almost everytime.
It seems I12 caused this as I haven't changed something at my end.
/petitioned -
rpgguy, if this is the "big thing" that I13 will bring, I will be very disappointed.
Remember that not everyone is interesting to be in an SG and an entire issue focused on that only, will leave many disappointed...
I won't say no if I see it implemented but not as the "main focus" about I13. -
-
I expect and hope I13 to bring a revamped matchmaking system that will help people to find teams instead of expecting teamleaders to pick them, like it's now.
-
Well, I believe in specialized than over-all heroes, that's why I reacted and that's why I hate soloing:
Each teammate is good to what it does best.
I believe that:
Defender =/= Controller
Scrapper =/= Tanker
Blaster =/= Scrapper
etc...
and I have their inherents to back me up:
Defenders' Vigilance allows them to take some toggles like leadership (please note that leadership at defenders is much stronger than in any other archetype) without worrying about endurance
Controllers' Containment allow them to do critical damage to mezzed foes but more importantly they have the ability to do overpowered mezzing 20% of times.
Tanker's Gauntlet: Who else can maintain aggro away from squshies better than a tanker and live to tell the tale?
Ok, you get my point, so I stop there... -
A dead defender is good as no-defender.
An empath fender that doesn't get aggro and only keep healing/buffing teammates is considered a viable tactic in many teams (and mine proved that many times).
Expecting defender's blasting to balance team's damage-dealing, is just plain wrong in my book.
