  1. For some reason, I would like to see the following quote from Iron Man in the next movie.

I know Captain America. Captain America is a friend of mine. You sir, are no Captain America.

Huh, weird. I always thought that meant higher percentage chance of getting a rare/very rare verses the normal rare/very rare drop rate instead of higher than common/uncoomon drop rate. Thought that was always the more common meaning.

i.e., (not real percentages just made up for example purposes). if the chance was originally
    common 50%, uncommon 35%, rare 10%, very rare 5%
Then the new percent would be
    common 40%, uncommon 30%, rare 20%, very rare 10%

So commons would still be the highest number of drops, but rares and very rares would happen more frequently than before.

Shrug. Don't run trials enough now to know for sure either way.
  3. Having lead Itrials, I know that there are a lot of instructions that should be macroed. However, I am more inclinded to make macros for pop culture references. I guess it started for me from our D & D group, and the running gag when the ranger would say, "I am making a tracking roll." and I would say "You can't track over stone!"

So, here are the things I would like to macro for each trial.
    BAF
    Before pulling Nightstar,

"Be careful of NIghtstar. She can walk through walls and kill you with her mind."

After defeating Nightstar and before the prisoner phase starts.
"Oh dear. I think we ran over Nightstar back there."
"Look, I am not pulling this raid back. It's not like we ran over a collie."

    Pulling Siege,
"Siege threw a chimney at me."
"Oh, I think I got a bone bruise."
    and
    "Siege, leave those kids alone"

    Lambda
Appropriate anywhere when multiple judgements fly.
    "Think you used enough dynamite?"

After collection phase and before cut scene.
    "Siege, come out and play!"

    After cut scene.
"Siege, we are sending in someone to negotiate".

    Keyes.
    After cut scene.
"Anti-Matter, a doomsday device is not an effective deterrent unless you tell someone about it."

    Final battle. Obliteraiton beam fires.
"Oh no. You are not firing that green sh## at me."

    When Anti-Matter stops time.
"Stop! Anti-Matter time". It helps if you imagine him doing the MC Hammer dance while he regens.

    Underground
    During the bomb phase.
"You don't mess with the IDF. You know why? Cuz they have the bomb."

    WarWalker fight.
I imagine the warwalker saying this.
"You are under arrest. Surrender. You have 10 seconds to comply"

    Hamidon fight.
"That's the 2nd biggest Hamidon I have ever seen."
Also, I imagine the Avatar of Hamidon keep saying in an annoying voice.
"Stop hitting yourself. Stop hitting yourself."

    TPN
    Haven't got much.
"Maelstrom, there are two people in this world. Those with guns, and those that dig. You dig.

    MoM
    PInk circles of doom drop.
"Move. Any still in these circles is dying or going to die."

And finally the last time fight.
    "So, what's the plan?"
    "Get her!"
"That's your plan? Get her?" (Helps if the team leader has the name Ray)

I'm speaking for my own suggestion, and not any of the many others that have been proposed in the past or in this thread: in mine, this is logically and mathematically impossible. Not just improbable: literally impossible, because of its construction. Every buffing set would have the same effect on something that wasn't pre-buffed, as it would have on something that was already buffed. There is no player-centric or team-centric downside to such a behavior that can possibly exist, unless you believe the entire purpose to your existence is to overstack with a twin.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think your argument is based on a fallacy, that an equivalent percentage of buffing brings the same effect to the team no matter what the numbers. While in your example from a previous post does indicate the percentage effectiveness is the same, the practical effectiveness is not.

It is like saying that I have 2 coupons. The first gives me 50% off. So, I have an item that is $100. So, I save $50. Now, I get a second coupon. It gives me 50% off of the reduced price. I save $25 in this case. So, the second coupon, while it saves me some money, the effectiveness of the coupon is significantly less, even though both coupons save me 50%. There is a point when the effectiveness of the 50% becomes marginal.

It is quite ridiculous to argue that the 6th or 7th buffer is as effective when the intent of the proposed change is to make that 6th or 7th buffer less effective.

In fact, it is a system of diminishing returns. The percentage is just a numbers shell game to make it appear more palatable than it is. Remember, 50% of $1000 is a lot, 50% of $1 is nothing.

And for the record, I think there should be diminishing returns, I just don't like the attempt to sell the idea under false or faulty pretenses.
