  1. Speaking of IOs...

I've got some A-Merits worked up, and I was thinking of selling some mid-level PVP IOs. Then I started looking at the market for figuring out which ones to sell, but it seems like no one is selling PVP IOs around the level 35 range (except for occasional procs).

Is this a supply thing, or a demand thing? I get that PVP IOs work when exemp'd, but I figured there were still people who liked to slot sets before hitting 50. Would it even be worth it to create them at lower levels?

    Can't be speakers, I use a headset.

I've narrowed it down to being an issue with the sound card. A SounBlaster Recon3D. If I change the mic to go through the on-board sound, no bleeding occurs but everyone complains I sound like crap. So I've tinkered with all the settings with little improvement.

The drivers are current so I'm about to run out of ideas and just leave it be. That is unless, someone thinks of something better.

And no, buying a new card isn't an option... for the time being.

Yes, you've made it clear your not looking to be liked. What with your overreaction and self-martyrdom. Building this type of reputation will also lead less people to reading or caring about anything you have to say. If your experience with these forums has been consistently like this, you have to stop and ask whether it's really these shadow assassins killing your threads, or yourself.

And believe it or not, not many people on these forums really have the time to hunt down every comment and thread you make.

If you believe that, then it's obvious you find yourself above anyone's offered help. Good luck with that.

Some of those TL;DL wouldnt read it anyways, or find some other reason to not read it.
TL;DR (It's R, not L) is for those really long posts. Like your OP. If you lead off with a TL;DR it gives people an idea of what's going to be discussed and might entice them to read the full thing.

From what I experienced on this forum and percieved, there is no way to please everyone.
No, you won't please anyone. But you can avoid wasting your time and create posts that are easily read and capable of bringing up discussions from them. Yeah, you've managed to get 6 pages of discussion going now, but not even half a page was based on what you actually wrote. Is that what you want to see?

Look, not everyone will be pleased with everything you write, but it doesn't mean you have to give up on posting good content that contributes to the forums. You probably had some good insights in your OP, but they're wasted if you not concerned with making them easy to read for the common forumite.

I don't think anyone here has been trying to stop you from posting. If they've come across as "kicking you in the face" or being rude, that's in large part your perception. I think you might have been applying tone behing their words that wasn't there. I've seen way more *constructive* criticism than anything else.

    My Advice:
Make a new thread, change the title a little and rework your OP.

Formatting on these forums isn't like writing a Word doc. You can't indent here, so paragraph breaks are next to impossible to see. It's always best to hit Return/Enter twice when making a new paragraph. That's a very common practice around here and it makes it easier to separate thoughts.

Managing paragraph size is as important as separating them. Large chucks of paragraphs are just going to become smaller walls of text. An ongoing paragraph is just as bad as a run-on sentence. If you can keep your thoughts together in shorter, more concise, bricks, then you're going to make your point easier to read. And faster.

Section off your different main points. Something like adding titles between sections is a big help. I use the /b and /color commands for section titles. They catch the eye of the reader and help clarify what you're trying to talk about to them. This is helpful when you're righting informational posts. If someone already knows the numbers behind WP and Electric, it's nice for them to skip to the next section of your post and start reading the things they didn't already know.

    TL;DR
Always add a TL;DR section when you've made a super long post. Not everyone on the forums has time to waste. Give them a synopsis (preferably at the beginning of a post) and you might just get them to read the whole thing if it sounds good enough to them.

Do you have a lot of A-Merits?

Don't worry, my opening line for that post was tongue-in-cheek. Though for a SR Tank, I doubt KCs would have that much appeal (melee vs S/L and all). But healing for 15% on a primary without a heal sounds pretty tempting. Just giving the OP something to consider, is all.

Please read the following as being meant to be helpful and informative:

There should be no need to ask your gender. Male or female, it has no bearing on the content you posted. Now, what was said is true, gender ambiguity defaults to the masculine in speech. Since you didn't come out and say you're female, it was ambiguous. And why should you say you're female? Gender doesn't lend credibility to your words. But if you want people to know you're a girl, just let them know when they say "he."

You can even just say it nicely. You're talking about the method of complaining, but then you come across as very much on the offensive when someone guesses the wrong gender. Let's be fair, the internet (and people who play this game) is a male majority. Safest bet is always to say "he" and move on. It's just the easiest way to go about it.

Now, there's also this little internet adage to consider: There are no girls on the internet. Don't click that link if curse words and crass content offend you. The phrase doesn't mean what you might think, which is why I posted the link. If crass language offends you, it might be worth putting your frailty on hold just to get a better understanding of the situation.
  14. Does anyone here have any experience with CoH sounds bleeding into TeamSpeak? And if so, did you figure out what settings needed to be changed? When I play in other games like Battlefield 3, my friends don't notice any noises, but if I'm in CoH, they do. It's driving me crazy because they can't make out my voice over all the noise.

Dont think anywhere in my post did I ask or say, "Please point out all grammar and spelling mistakes."
I'd call it helpful. Someone comes along and notices you're doing something in a way that won't have the effect you might want and points out what you could do to improve your results: that's called helping.

Didn't he specifically say it was edited? It's not a blatant lie at that point. Or are you just looking to be offended. In which case, posting anything on the internet is not for you.

Okay, maybe I overreacted with that. It's just that I think PA is so good.

But, if you're working with a toon that's IO'd to the gills, I could see skipping it.

Well, considering we have to make sense of what you're saying, those particular things there are a must.

The readability of a post relies on the poster. Not the reader. Granted, you can't anticipate people with poor reading comprehension or the blind (since you can't make braille), but you have to do the work to make sure your material is user friendly.

Now, if you weren't hoping to have any discussion at all, what's the point of posting it in the first place? If you're posting to inform, then presentation is everything. Because if your presentation chases readers away, then you didn't inform.

    In short, no.

Long answer: They're all very good powers and none are worth skipping over. It makes for a tight build sometimes, but hey, that's the breaks.

Also, with all the questions you've been asking about Bio, you should just jump onto Beta and test it out. I will come into TeamSpeak and berate you if I have to.

Well if you're just writing things down for the sake of just writing things down, I believe they still have LiveJournal.com. But around here, people will point out when you've made your content impossible to bother with. Which tends to upset the sensitive.
