  1. Thanks for the story Posi! Makes me wish you and the other writers were doing write ups for after November...

But when they go out of their way to be an *** hole when they say it, it does make them a troll.

Especially when it appears you've made your forum account just in time to act like an *** hole.
  4. My 2 cents:

I'm not going to boycott NCSoft. I won't tell people not to buy from them. I won't be adding to the flame posts hoping for them to get malignant tumors. There's no real point in it. At the end of the day, it's a business decision, and they're a business.

However, I do demand a level of service, and if I see it's not going to be there, I won't be doing business. The service being provided during this shuttering isn't one I find professional. Of course I'm not going to like being told the games gone, but that's not my sole reason for deciding not to do business with NCSoft anymore. It's the handling of the shuttering and the fact that I have unpaid time that I doubt I'll see a refund on.

If a company has any inkling that they can end a game as fast as they're ending this one, they shouldn't be selling 12-month subscriptions and telling me its a deal. They certainly better not offer me their equivalent of in-store credit. If I wanted to purchase their other games, I would have already done so. A refund is in order, and if I don't see one, then I've been burned on the deal. And if you're getting burned, it's not wise to put your hand back on the stove.

So I don't wish ill for NCSoft. I won't want business with them, but I don't hope they burn and crash. I don't hope they do well either. They're just a non-issue to me. I think Tony V has his heart in the right place with this thread. Let go of the hate, folks. It's not going to do much for you. If the game can't be saved, then try to make your last memories with it good ones.

Ok, my 2 cents turned more into a dollar. Sorry.

I'm not asking for everything to be free. Just Bio Armor. And while holding out hope that the game gets saved is good, if Nov 1st comes around without any news, I say let us have Bio. It's already in the game, it's just making it accessible in the market that would have to change.
  7. If anyone who has any sway on these things could convince someone to just flip that one switch to let Bio Armor sell for ZERO points, that would be cool.

    Anyone? Anyone.... Bueller....
  8. Costume and custom power files sent. His damage aura is part of the look, so that's why it's included.

    Really interested in the results.
  9. *smiles and nods* M'hmm...

God I wish I knew what all that meant.

I'm determined to, though. So I'll be making demo recordings of my favorites. Especially some Beta demos, since I loved the Corsair pieces.

So chest decals are lost in the export process. It is possible, however, to recreate them in a 3D format so that they can extrude from the chest and be visible in the printing process - but they wouldn't bend with the shape of the chest.
Does this go for Clockwork Chest details and Celestial Chest details?

Well, that post looks like the painkillers are kicking in, so yeah, take the afternoon off.

By the way, a thread like this should be moved to another forum site. Maybe Titan or something. If the game can't be saved, I'd hate to see this incredibly cool idea erased from the interwebs.
  14. Hmm... double might be possible for my budget, but I can see that being tough for others.

I wouldn't be offended by adding levels to VIP statuses. $30 subscriptions give you VIP Elite status with a few more perks than what regular VIPs get. And if VIP costs $20 instead of $15, I'd be ok with that to keep the game alive.

(besides, after 8 years, $20 is only about a $1 more than what inflation would require for keeping up)
  15. As someone that knows zilch on 3D rendering, I'm becoming insanely jealous. If I could turn some of my favorite characters into figures, I'd be all over it. Is there a "simple" (for dummies) tutorial someone could make? Recommended programs?

Of course, I don't own a 3D printer, but perhaps I could find someone who does...

I wonder if something like this could have generated enough revenue to make NCSoft reconsider. I can only imagine the number of people who'd jump all over this.

[edit] Just found some information on demorecording on the Wikia page, and browsing Shapeways (after seeing Voodoo's post). Mouth is watering... oh yeah, I'm suppose to be working!
  16. My main, and most loved character, is Durahell. Named as a play on the popular battery Duracell, he's an SS/Elec/Pyre Brute. With 644 hours of play time logged, I can say I had way too much fun with him. He was the only character I made tier 4 incarnate powers for. And even now, I'm still tweaking his build (thanks again, New Dawn) after some much needed updating.

If you ran on Protector, you may remember him from quite a few iTrials. Here he is in my favorite costume for him. Yes, I know Samus Aran is a girl, but the armor is unisex, I checked the tags on the inside of it to make sure.

Yes, but I really just don't care for fly. Just one of those play-style things. But I will be putting the +Perception in. Thanks for all the help!

  19. I'd be curious to know, too. But I think they may still be bound by some NDA-like rules. I don't think they'll be able to talk about those things that haven't been announced yet... lest some other MMO use it instead.

At first I was wondering why you had fly, then I looked at my own build and realized that in my effort to see if I could put in Afterburner, I forgot to switch back to CJ and SJ. D'oh.

Hmm, I think I'll move that Res I had in Grounded and put it back into Rage for the +Perception. While I like the idea of SS being an option for indoor mission speediness, I'm not entirely sure I can let go of the -KB proc. With as much as I like to jump around in fights, it comes in useful.

    I'll be weighing these options...
  21. Okay, give me your thoughts on this:

I thought some more on the Taunt slotting you were talking about and I realized there was some wasted potential there. Instead of MBs, I could 6 slot PZ and pull all the slotting from Rage. I keep the 5% recharge, and gain a little more defense and some regen. I put one slot for res in Grounded to squeak out a little more neg res, and a Numina's in Health. Keeping the 3% res IO and gaining 30% more regen overall should have a helpful net gain in survival.

Or do you think the newly opened slots could get better performance elsewhere?

(side note: for some reason your links don't open the builds in mids for me)

I made a move, you made a move, it's a bit like a chess game. I made another move. I changed some slotting to improve in DPS and I changed taunt. I'd rather emphasize duration than shave off milliseconds in recharge and with Rage I don't think ya need Acc in taunt not even for PvP.

Also if I was intending to tank with this I would of taken Fly. My Elec Brute has SS and Fly as it happens.
*Scratches chin* Hmm... perhaps the 3% res is worth the couple of seconds lost on perma-hasten. As for fly, I just couldn't be happy with it. SJ has always been my travel method of preference. If I could wiggle in Afterburner for this build, I might just try it, but that's a tight squeeze. As I do like to tank for my friends, CJ has done plenty for me in crowd control mobility.
  23. Okay! Took me about 20 minutes, but I got a good solution! New Dawn, your build was just what I needed to get my train of thought to change tracks. Thanks!

I ditched the Heca's for one more set of KC's, changed which LotG's were used in Weave, and took the last slot from Punch and put it in Char to slot 5 Unbreakable Constraints. My Hasten will be a second shy of Perma, but I'm not going to notice it. Meanwhile, I should be right at the soft-cap. Thanks a million!

Yes, I know, 20 minutes to see three changes, but I'm just a slow tinkerer when it comes to Mids. Also... it's late and I'm tired.
