  1. Anyone done the number crunching for what T3 and T4 enhancements would do for the resist sets?

I'm wondering what my Elec/ tank would look like with this.

This goes to show how little skill in creativity you must have. As an art director, you remind me of the clients that come through always saying "how easy" it is to do something, as if you know how being creative works.

It's not as if there's a button that says "Create Aesthetically Appealing Texture" on their keyboard that they can press and it generates a skin they're happy with. And then, lets not forget, it has to be good enough to reduce the amount of "I don't like texture A as much as texture B" as much as possible. Because let's face it, no matter how much time you put into your art, someone's going to diss it. I doubt the artist really just wants to "slap something together" that he doesn't have to be proud of.

So yeah, asking for 3000 textures and belittling someones job who has to do it? Dick move.

Now, as for perchasing bases on the market:

I just don't see the need. It didn't take me long to build my solo SG. Especially for the use of storage. And if you've got storage and you're using the market, it takes even less time to build it the rest of the way out. Cash in Inf for prestige, and you can have a fully ported base on Hero side withing a week or two.

Considering the Inf to Prestige rates are one of the few effective Inf sinks in the game, I doubt the devs want to completely negate it with fully-built "bought" bases.

I'm just going to say that even if they matched seamlessly, it would still never be "truly nude." Not until you find a way to put the "goods" into the mix.

Be fair now, I have TWICE stated that if we absolutely, positively cannot have a color wheel that we at least get more color swatches.

Besides, it's not like any "nudes" people could make would be anymore risque than a Barbie or Ken doll.

Covered that in the OP. It's a weak reason not to at least put in more swatches. A color wheel though, would be preferable with mods just doing what they have to in order to generic the immature.

Also...fire? Because that's what you want...ambulatory fire spreaders. Don't forget...there are no more fire departments. Start a fire with no way to keep it contained, plus the fact that the real terror of fire is lost on something that doesn't feel pain nor needs to breathe.
I'd imagine that being consumed by fire would also mean that you won't be able to walk for long. Not feeling pain doesn't make them fire proof. Also, I can't imagine they're eyes to be fire resistant, so they'd be blinded pretty quickly, too. They can't get you if they can't see you.

As for potential fire outbreak... Are you really going to stop and compare that to being eaten alive? I know I won't when in the middle of running. Beside, that zombie crowd was in a street, not the forest. Low risk for high gain in my opinion.

That's not an exaggeration either. Depending on the costume piece, a specific type of blue can range anywhere from blueish-green and a deep blue... I even used it on an aura and found it more purple than blue. Same swatches, all the way across.
A good example of that is the Steampunk Backpack. If you want you're costume to match it, good luck.

And it's kind of sad our chat has more variation on color than our costumes.

I think the Katana enthusiasts must be Left 4 Dead fans. Unless you've learned how to swing one around in 360˚ arcs endlessly without getting tired and with enough force to decapitate or brain the zombies, then you're just carrying around a very eccentric butter knife.

If there's anything in that game I'd like to carry around in the zombie apocalypse, it would be the Molotov. If Shane and Otis could have chucked one right behind them, they'd have been able to get to the car no problem.
  11. I know it's had to come up plenty of times before, but I just don't care!

I want a color wheel! Enough with Swatches for our character creator. This game has come so far graphically, that basic primary colors should be considered child's play!

Look, I'm aware of the potential for people making "nude" toons will be increased, but do the rest of us with a sense of style have to suffer? It's why we have moderators, isn't it!?

I want to see neon colors. I want to see dingy colors. I want to see an orange-red every once in a while! We don't even get orange-red!! It's just red or orange! But we get 3 variants of purple!? Who am I? Prince??

    *tries to calm down*

Ok, so yeah, back to my point. Can't we implement a color wheel by this point? If not, if it's just a straight out impossibility, then let's at least add in a heck of a lot more swatches.

    Pretty please!?

So, the zombie apocalypse has occurred, and you're in it for the long haul. On you're journey you come across a purveyor of all sorts of weaponry (from stone-age to modern firearms). You can take only two weapons total, but your choices are limited to what you could actually carry (so no choosing a tank). What two weapons do you take to fight the zombie horde for the long run?
Had a similar discussion just yesterday about what I'd carry. I'm not sure why it has to be two weapons total, seeing as a bag can be helpful, but I'd say any high-powered semi-automatic gun with a large clip would be one, and 1 GRENADE would be the other.

The grenade would be for me if I ever come to a point I know I'm not making it out.

    Base Recharge = 180

    Calculated Recharge = 180 / (1 + 2.5728) = 50.38 seconds, which is exactly what Mid's calculates too.

If you put on the FF proc, then the recharge drops to 39.36 seconds, which is easily visible by simply applying Footstomp in Mid's.
Well, I'll consider myself schooled. I didn't take into account the Alpha slot.

Still, the build only goes to stress my point that you're talking about very high end builds here. For average players, the survival margin is going to be much wider. So I'm still going to stand by my assessment of the two sets.

  16. Yeah, I see the problem now. You've left FS clicked "ON." The Feedback proc is messing with your Mids numbers. There's no way you're getting consistent 50 second recharge on that build in-game without outside buff. Are you timing it in-game and seeing that?

It's okay if you disagree, but don't make the asinine assumption that I don't understand SS/Fire, or that I wouldn't take IO investment into consideration.

Both of my Brutes are heavily invested in IOs, and both are concentrated on recharge. Neither one or the other has defense worth bragging about. So their footing on embellishment is the same.

At perma-hasten levels of recharge, the heals are both up in significant time. Don't be so hasty to disregard the regen factor of Energize. Also, l didn't claim that it SS/Fire was a "farm only build." Just that it's superior at farming. I never claimed it couldn't handle other content, only that SS/Elec will be much more survivable against more groups. For instance, seeing as Smash, Lethal and Energy are the most common damage types, /Elec has a better resistance than /Fire. For example, take them both into incarnate trials, and tell me who survives better.

    Quote:
Take a look on the current topics and you'll see 2 SS/Fire brutes soloing the ITF. One did it as a Master of ITF run and the other could have with just a bit more luck or patience with cooldowns on their side. SS/Fire can do *everything*.
That particular build requires quite a bit of investment. 50% Global recharge and soft-cap S/L will do that for any resist set.

    Quote:
Endurance Drain - Consume gives immunity to this. Carnival drains? Malta? Meaningless to you.
Psychic Damage - nothing against this. Heal through it or rely on defence.
Consume, while nice, isn't going to be enough all of the time. You make the assumption that it will be available. At 180 seconds for recharge, the fastest you'll ever get it is 45 secs. Ever. And that's not something you'll get without outside help. Now, if you're tearing through Carnies or Malta, I doubt you're getting hit less often than every 45 seconds with end drain. Claim what you want, but Consume is not going to be enough to compare to /Elec end drain resist and end recovery. Also, Consume doesn't offer near as much end drain to claim "immunity."

Also, Psi Resist on /Elec will give the set more advantage in those situations.

These two things are part of why I'm informing the OP that SS/Elec will see more durability in more content. If we're going to just start assuming that SS/Fire has extreme recharge and soft-cap defense, then we need to make those assumptions about every build out there.

Again, I'm not dissing SS/Fire. It's a strong combo, with ridokulous damage potential. But SS/Elec is better suited for a wider range of content, period. Of course you can build either set to be good for all content, but the same can be said for anyone if you're just going to make IO investment limitless for everyone.

I know everyone says ss/fire is a the best on offense for melee but what about ss/electric helping so much on end. you can just keep going opposed to fire which has some end. help but not like compared to electric right?

How much better on defense would electric for a tank be compared to a brute be? Is there a big survivability difference between the two in electric armour?

Is there a big offense difference with tankers and brutes, I know brutes have fury but is it a substantial difference?
Well, I've leveled both SS/Elec and SS/Fire to 50. While the damage from SS/Fire is higher, I'd have to say I have a lot more fun with my SS/Elec Brute (he even took the place of my main). His damage output may be less, but his durability far exceeds the difference. He tends to fair better against a broader range of enemy groups (higher resist numbers as well as resist to Psi). Also, the faster End replenishment does allow for more constant steamrolling, but no matter what, you're taking a break every 2 minutes from Rage crash.

Put shortly, SS/Fire is a GREAT farm build and SS/Elec a very good farm build and a very good all other content build.

Electric Armor on a tank will certainly be more durable. All armor sets will be. Elec/ Tanks do extremely well in a lot of content. They also tend to do better in lower levels since defense can take time to bloom in most sets. Add in around 30% to defense by way of IO's, and you're talking Granite Armor Lite. My Elec/Stone tank is soft-capped to S/L and mostly uses Energize for the end discount.
  21. Excellent episode last night. I felt the creep factor moved up a bit more, and there was one person I never expected to see killed who got the axe. The unfolding of the house's history is paced out pretty good so far.

I'd really like to know who the Gimp is at this point. Dead? Alive? Home wrecker?! I must know!!

Yes, I'd much rather have the costume PIECES. Customization is one of the big selling points of the game. Toggles that make me look just like the other guy with a toggle for 480 pts isn't very appealing. When a costume bundle doesn't even cost that much, a non-customizable costume toggle should be much less.

Kudos for bringing these giveaways to everyone else, though. It is better to have it than not at all I suppose.
