Quote:As Griff points out, NPCs (Boss rank foes and up especially) can still attack a bit, even after being fully drained. The reason for this is because they have larger END pools so while they have Recovery rates on par with our own, each tick of theirs will bring back far more.Sapping isn't as effective in my opinion as it seems. With a kin/elec/elec defender you can sap an entire mob very quickly, including the boss using transferance, however they can start plugging away at you as soon as they get even the smallest sliver of endurance back. Without a decent amount of -recovery I cant see sapping to be very viable. Especially compared to something like how a dark/dark defender can neuter a spawn with -acc and keep them that way. Much more easy and effective than sapping.
BUT... what Griff does not mention is that the foes will be limited in their attacks. They will be forced to only use their weakest attack since it would be the only one they would have the END to pay for.
So... does sapping completely stop attacking? Not entirely, no.
Does sapping reduce incoming damage? By the vast majority, yes. -

Quote:Purples. Lots of purples. A couple of breaks too.Next I'm going to try my TA/A defender. That should be fun....
He has some strong -RunSpeed resistance, but his Immob protection is weak as anything. Stick him in place with a couple of Entangling Arrows then sit back and turn him into a pincushion.
OSA's added damage as well as Acid Arrow and Disruption Arrow provide enough damage to wear him down. Especially with the Vigilance +DMG buff. -

Quote:My apologies on that point.Thank you for taking that out of context.
I was talking specifically about the Curse of Weariness/Curse Breaker. Try not to take snippets to try and bash me with, Im getting a little sick of it.
In either case, as you've said you had played through the RWZ content before and had faced off against Curse-wielding foes before... this still brings up the point of why didn't you stop to prepare the moment you saw Holtz.
Missions are not things that must be completed immediately. If I see something in a mission that I'm not prepared to handle, I back out, get set, THEN I come back and deal with it. -
God, those things are so awful. It doesn't help at all that they're "modeled" in such a horribly tacky way.
Here's a hint, jewelry maker: Less is more. Be subtle! -
Ah. How disappointing, but not surprising.
Oh well. -
OK, so yay for being able to pair KM with Shield Def. I wasn't sure if that was possible.
The downside though, the animations get quite the overhaul. Are all the Kinetic Melee animations one-handed when paired with Shield Defense?
I don't suppose anyone has/is willing to make a vid showing off all the animations. -
Quote:Except for the whole warning given by Lady Grey.Sorry, but im sick of people acting like its a given you should have forewarning when, realistically, there is none.
Except for the clue you find which explicitly states the Honoree will be in there in some fashion.
Except for the whole being able to see what's in the room ahead before leaping in.
But yeah, except for all those warning signals, there's no warning. -
Also, in Mids, the PvP Set is always the last one in the list for that category while the second to last is the Purple.

Had a purple Pet Damage drop on my Dom yesterday night.
Random drops are random. -
EDIT: Correction - There is an error with Issue 19 Mids that it's only showing the PvE bonuses at present. Expect a fix Soon™

Quote:Do I think you're the only one finding this difficult? Absolutely not.If I was the only one having this problem, we wouldnt have constant spam in RWZ and Ouro and we wouldnt have 330 posts.
Do I think that somehow makes it unsoloable? Absolutely not.
Does opinion have an affect on game mechanics? Absolutely not.
The arc is soloable by the vast majority (if not all) of the powersets available. -
Quote:Well, it's just that this part: "it don't matter what you bring, blues, purples, temp powers.... you have no chance whatsoever, doesn't matter if you run it one time or fifty times - you're not going to be able to complete it." is, to put it simply, wrong.THIS...
Ive Been trying to say this, but everyone keeps going off on tangents.
There's no other way to really put it. Saying that X/X CANNOT do this is wrong. It can and we'll show you how. -
Quote:Yes. And?1. Energy Transfer received an absolutely terrible animation when it was rebalanced several issues back.
2. Terrible animations were being implemented when Back Alley Brawler was around, so blaming the underwhelming animations from latest offering on his departure is silly.
The "new" Energy Transfer animation predated BAB by years. It's the Bitter Freeze Ray animation... which was in-game since Launch. Whereas BAB didn't join up until... what, Issue 6?
So on one hand, you're (generalised, not you specifically) lambasting a guy for something he didn't make. And on another hand you're asking for reusing old animations all the while being upset when they did.
I guess we could keep doing that. Oh, and let's blame Castle for all of geko's bad decisions too, k? -

Quote:Confuse Holtz and let her do the work. Then once she's cleared the area, just whittle her down.My main is a Mind/Kin/Psi controller with zero purples. I've not even done all TFs with my main (hasn't been 50 all that long either).
I got to the Honoree room easily and knew that portals are bad, so I took them out and cleaned up the little bit of Rikti mess. I pulled the first EB and took him out pretty handily and then got ready for Honoree. I think I died 4 times (always re stocking on inspirations) and I simply could not dent his health. IF... IF... If... if the solution is to somehow engage him and scratch his health pool and run away, and go back and scratch him and run, and so on for ever and ever... I guess it's possible I could take him. Of course that would be all for nothing if I made a single slip up and he got up on me and one-shotted me. -
If you want to see it that way, you are free to do so. That is not what is written, but you're free to think what you like. I do, however, believe it speaks more for your own mindset.

Quote:What EB?Then the new balance point is every powerset needs to be able to solo an EB.
Also, CAN, not NEEDS. But then I don't particularly imagine you're the least bit interested in that sort of differentiation since you seem to be of the mind that things should only vary between to wildly different extremes.
If Player A using Set X can do Feat Z, while Player B using the exact same Set cannot... then it boils down to simple player skill. Which is exactly where it should be.
Clearly the only step then is to stop using the warning and/or remove it in some cases so as to increase its value. -
Quote:I like how you say people who plan characters are abnormal. For normal people its still hard as proven by go look at any BC in RWZ at the amount of complaints about the mission.
Also, people who have been trained on easy-mode gameplay complaining when confronted with something that isn't? Color me shocked. -
Quote:>.>Bah stupid "copyright material" thing...video isn't on youtube anymore
Ah well...
<.<
Nothin' ta see here. -
Quote:By impossibly hard, you mean a little more difficult than usual, yes?He is supervulnerable to knockdown, my plant psi made him a butt scooting joke with carrion creepers and waterspout.
Its either stupidly easy or impossibly hard depending on powerset layout..
That is the definition of bad game design.
Because so far there has not been a single powerset commented on here (or in the beta version of this thread) that was not able to solo this mission. -

Quote:Kinda sorta. If I recall correctly, the Aqualad in the show is based of the new Aqualad who was introduced in the Brightest Day ongoing right now, who happens to already be black.
Geoff Johns was called in during the planning phases of the show and saw the ideas for this new Aqualad. He liked the character so much, he pushed (and got) for him to be created in the comics as well.
So show made comic made show.
