Whew! Finally thought of some new stuff. This thread was getting perilously close to the bottom page. I hope this inspires folks to add a few more of the good ideas we've seen in the forum recently!
Sewer Pipe Assemblies
Originally suggested by: Ruin of Iron
Category: decorative
Customizable? no, but a variety should be available.
Type: purchased under "columns"
Description: wall-and-ceiling-jointed large sewer pipe assemblies, as seen in the sewer mission maps. like columns, they should adjust for height (perhaps by scaling?) and joint neatly against the walls and ceiling.
Limitations: Decorative only. Large. Probably do little to eliminate LOS on raidable items, due to the openwork nature of pipe assemblies. Standard placement rules apply.

Boulders & Half-Boulders
suggested by: Ruin of Iron, many others
Category: Decorative items
Customizable? no
Type: purchased in "columns" tab
Description: A selection of gigantic chunks of rock for use in simulating caves or underground environments, as well as enabling the occasional Zen rock garden. All varieties should joint against either walls or floor, or both (!) to create that truly massive look.
Limitations: Decorative only. Large. Standard placement rules apply.

Cave Passageway
Suggested by: Ruin_of_Iron (based on suggestions of others though)
Category: Doorway, decorative
Customizable? no
Type: purchased under "doorways" tab
Description: This object is placed precisely over an existing doorway, creating the illusion of a rocky tunnel between two rooms. boulders overlap the square edges of the doorway to hide them. While smaller than the existing Doorway, this item does not block the doorway or otherwise occlude passage.
Limitations: Can only be placed in Doorways. Comes in three standard sizes to fit the differing ceiling/floor heights. Must be precisely aligned. Cannot be placed on or near any other item. Greatly increases the "no-item-zone" around Doorways.

Blast Door Section
Suggested by: Ruin_of_Iron (based on suggestions of others though)
Category: Doorway, decorative
Customizable? no
Type: purchased under "doorways" tab
Description: This object is placed precisely over an existing doorway, creating a small space enclosed by two large Doors to either side. Doors are not destructible, and can be opened with a click. (think the doors in the Longbow Lab maps).
(moved over from the original thread)
Coalition Beacons
Originally suggested by: Sleepy Kitty
Category: teleport room auxiliary
Customizable? Y
Type: unlocked/purchased
Description: Beacons that allow you to use your base teleporter to go directly to a coalitions base. Beacons are unlocked by forming a coalition with said group (does not create a badge for sg like normal beacons) and only take you to their portal room as if you'd selected to enter it by portal.
Limitations: Coalition base must be set to allow your sg entry to it, also cost money to place. Uses up a beacon slot on a tper platform. -
(Moved over here from the original thread)
Arachnos Tileset
Originally suggested by: Warface
Category: Base Style
Customizable? N
Type: available-no cost-style item
Description: This Arachnos tileset provides you with that dark brooding and glowy red style you villains have always dreamed about.
Limitations: No Style Issue
Arachnos Decor
Originally suggested by: Warface
Category: decorative
Customizable? N
Type: purchased in edit window
Description: In the Arachnos purchase tab you have available approximately 20 Arachnos style decorations available. Those cool red computers, Red bubbles with floating spiders, Red Arach Flags to hang, Funky machines that go beep
Limitations: Unlimited -
[ QUOTE ]
It took the top swedish furniture scientists to make us those tables, I also believe a few died in the process, but that is what it takes to bring our base the top in table technology.
A shot from their brochure.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, the placement for that table seems slightly off-center to me. Maybe it's just the screenshot, though.
Looks like you should move it a little to the left. -
Ramps (Wall-jointed)
Originally suggested by: Ruin_of_Iron
Category: decorative/room detail
Customizable? no
Type: Purchased in edit window
Description: Right now you can only build stairways with a one-floor-level difference. We need a variation of the available ramps (wooden or tech grated) that is wall-jointed instead of floor-jointed. These items could be "stacked" to create multi-level ramps. Can't get to your upper upper platform? Want to actually REACH that nifty balcony you bought? Now you can! Freestanding two-level staircases (spiral or otherwise) would also be nifty, if a little difficult to place.
Limitations: normal decorative-placement rules apply. Requires walls.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Ceiling Mount
Originally suggested by: Ruin of Iron
Category: Defensive aux
Customizable? no
Type: unlockable purchased (like teleport beacons)
Description: Fitting a Ceiling Mount to a defensive item inverts it and places it on the ceiling instead of the floor. Advanced Ceiling Mounts might also "conceal" the item until an enemy triggers it. (for instance, a turret unfolds out of the ceiling and fires). This is not just a cosmetic change - Ceiling Mounts should affect LOS targeting calculations for both items and attackers.
Limitations: Primarily for turrets/throwers. Not usable on mines or explosive runes. (why would you want it to, anyway?) Inverted items can't be stacked over non-inverted items.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Room Music
Suggested by: Veneficus, Sleepy Kitty, Anti_Proton
Category: <.< Decore! except not!
Customizable? yups
Type: unlocked
Description: tab next to the lighting tab, allows you to set background music to the room from a selection of ingame music (not just boombox stuff). This music is specific to a single room (or base when "apply to base" button is clicked).
Limitations: Music soundtracks are unlocked by some method (certain number of sg members have been to that zone.. for that sound track, missions against the villains that are found in that zone.. maybe just crafted from salvage (the cds/speakers for the music that is)) and SGs don't just start with them.
-- -- -- -- -- --
explanation <.< I know this has been sorta mentioned before, but the two previous listings of this were badly worded, I think this better explains of what it should be.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Coffeemakers
Originally suggested by: Robotech Master
Category: Decorative
Customizable? N
Type: Purchased
Description: What is a base/breakroom without a source of caffeine? (Ideally there could be several different types, ranging from a simple small pot, to an industrial device with several pots, to an espresso machine. Doesn't have to have any function (though it would be amusing if it dispensed large Catch a Breaths), just decorative to promote roleplaying.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Refrigerator
Originally suggested by: Robotech Master
Category: Decorative
Customizable? N
Type: Purchased
Description: Another breakroom, lab, or med-center must. Use the same model that is often seen in Crey or Malta missions as a glowie that contains brains.
__________________________________________________ ____________
SG Mission Story Arcs
Suggested by:Jagged
Category: Missions
Customizable? N
Type: Unlockable
Description:
SGs need multiple story arcs. A basic story arc should be unlocked simply by starting a base. Future arcs should be unlocked in a variety of different ways. Completing an arc should unlock "something."
In short I'd like some PvE reasons for having a base please
__________________________________________________ ____________
decorative item maker
Originally suggested by: o.o Sleepy Kitty
Category: Workshop aux: salvage table
Customizable? N (well. maybe, can't think of how)
Type: unlocked/purchased
Description: a salvage table that instead of making base items, turns salvage from one faction into a decorative weapon/item used by that group of baddies. These items can be used to decorate the base and/or be kept on the hero for purposes of cerimonial costuming (ie, posing and showing off the cool weapon you have on you)
Limitations: These items don't actually do anything, they're mearly for show and can't be used to harm villains/heroes in actual battle.
----------------------------
o.o basically, alot of us keep those temp powers that work on # of shots and stuff so that we can pose with them around atlas or show off to friends. This would provide us with not only a use for extra salvage that the SG can't afford to make into something and place down (and lets admit it, stuff is expensive, and besides, there are only so many of what ever item you can place before your full and haven't got anything to use salvage for), but also a way for us to have that extra sword, or ritiki gun, or nemessis weapon to flash around with our costumes, and not unbalance the game in any way ^_^
(I have the nem staff mission and I just don't have the heart to do it, I can only have it for 3 days o.o, I don't care about zapping ppl with it, I just want to have it to wave around the base or atlas!!)
__________________________________________________ ____________
Soda/beer/wine Bottles and cups
Originally suggested by: @Steppenwolf
Category: decorative
Customizable? no
Type: purchased
Description: Name says it all. Beverage drink stuff. I managed to build a bar for our SG, but now we need something on it.
Limitations: Ok, alcohol would be bad mmmkay, but we can at least have soda/coffee/etc. Oh, and tables that work with them would be nice too.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Hanging Skeleton
Originally suggested by: @Steppenwolf

Description: Medical display skeleton.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Blood Tiles
Originally suggested by: Vesper_DZX
Category: decorative
Customizable: yes
Type: purchased
Description: These would be pools of blood that could be placed in lowered sections of the room. Call it red water if blood is to much, I have seen rivers of red water in the game and it looks really cool
__________________________________________________ ____________
Terra Volta Reactor (well something like it)
Originally suggested by:Lythos
Category: Main,Power
Customizable? Yes
Type: Unlocked all 3 Respec trials done in SG mode
Description: A Better Version of any of the tech power Generators
Limitations:1 Per base
Thorn Tree (well something like it)
Originally suggested by:Lythos
Category: Main,Power
Customizable? Yes
Type: Complete all 3 Respec trials done in SG mode
Description: A Better Version of any of the arcane power Generators
Limitations:1 Per base
Dunno maybe a reward for an sg done Respec trial we need something to fill the SG Accolades
__________________________________________________ ____________
Banner/Flags
Suggested by: Tic-Toc
Category: Decorative
Customizable? Somewhat
Type: Purchased in the edit window.
Description: Various banners and flags that can be hung from walls, ceilings, or stands. They would have the SG emblem and ideally a costumized emblem color/background color.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Enhancement Exchange
Suggested by: Tic-Toc
Category: ?
Customizable? No
Type: Purchased or crafted.
Description: A device that could purchase enhancements from a player at the same value as an origin specific contact would, and sell them at that same value (ie, cheaper than contacts, but not free)
--------------------------
"Another big feature change I'd like to see would be a change to crafted items. Instead of crafting an item and adding it as a personal item, I'd rather see it unlock that item in the normal purchase window with a quantity. Ie, you craft a lay tap, it shows up in the normal buy window with a 1 next to it. You place the lay tap in your base, it now shows 0 in the window (meaning you couldn't place another). If you delete it from the base, that number goes back up to 1. If you craft 2 lay taps, the number shows 2. This would make storage rooms pretty much un-needed, as you could just delete crafted items, and replace them from the normal buy menu." - Tic-Toc
__________________________________________________ ____________
Prison
Suggested by: HollowKing (see also Dojrhom's version, above)
Category: Room type
Customizable? Should be a variety of these rooms, anyway
Type: Purchased
Description: Similar to the prisons found in Council bases or CoT lairs, when a raiding hero/villain "dies" and tries to respawn in the hospital (or wherever it is they respawn in raids), they respawn here. Behind a locked door. Likely with a slew of defenses guarding them. This helps make the fight less of a "zerg" affair, and heroes with "holding cells" and villains with "dungeouns" are a staple. ...While you're at it, add some manacles and devices-aiding-in-interrogation.
Limitations: Only one per base, and it should require at least some Control. I'd limit the number of defenses you can put in there so it's a challenge to escape, rather than a drag on the raid.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Suits Of Armor
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Room Decor
Customizable? N
Type: Purchased
Description: Like in castles and mansions..there are those lovely knights and suits of armors that sit up on a stand..these would be a nice touch for some bases who use the Arcane or if you just want it in there.
Limitations: None
__________________________________________________ ___________
Drapery
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Room Decor
Customizable? N (but come in all colors)
Type: Purchased
Description: Im sure you've seen some movies where you have the curtains thats drawn back but exposes a wall with a shield in the middle or whatever. These also could be good to put up around doorways to give them a lilttle more flair and hide those sharp corners.
Limitations: None
__________________________________________________ ___________
Rugs/Carpet
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Room Decor
Customizable? A variety of styles should be available
Type: Purchased
Description: Some nice rugs to break up the cold look of the floors..maybe a welcome rug at the bottom of stairs when you come in the portal. Lay some carpet down in certain rooms to mix it up.
Limitations: None
__________________________________________________ ___________
Smaller Portal
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Door
Customizable? Sorta
Type: Purchased
Description: I dont know why the portal is such a big block..but i know it would be nicer if it was smaller and didnt take up so much room. So how about different kinds of portals you can buy? If you have a sewer style base..your portal could be the gate door...snake hole...or the front doors on the arachnos base.Maybe something on the wall...anything that can fit better or be smaller or larger..hell even a portal something like on Star Trek..four people stand on a circle and they all port out at the same time.
Limitations: Entrance Room Only
__________________________________________________ ___________
SG Round Table
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Unknown
Customizable? Y
Type: Purchased/Earned/Unlocked up to devs
Description: Much like the mission computer it would be nice if you had a very large table with the middle being customized.Say you can click on the table..then scroll through the chest emblems to find your SGs emblem and set it for the middle insignia for the table. This would only fit in big meeting rooms..so it feels more....Super Groupish..all good villians and heroes have a large meeting table lol
Purchased: Dont make it insanely costly..maybe like 10k
Unlocked: When you unlock 3-4 badges the SG table unlocks as well
Earned: After so many missions done in SG mode you earn the right to place it

Limitations: None
__________________________________________________ ___________
Name Your Base
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Other
Customizable? Y
Type: Earned
Description: Why can't we name our bases? all good groups have a name for their base: Skull Island, X Mansion, etc.. you could put in a filter to keep it from being named bad things. But i think it would be nice if a lot of groups could name their base.
Limitations: None
__________________________________________________ ___________
SG Ticker
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Other
Customizable? Y
Type: Purchased/Unlocked
Description: Three lines you can fill in on the super group register form thing..and it will show a ticker inside the base. I.E. Tonight around etc time we will be running (insert name) task force. Or... Congrats to (insert hero/villian team member name) for bringing in 3 new members and achieveing rank 40. Possibilities are endless.
Limitations: Only the Leaders can edit it
__________________________________________________ ___________
Weaponary Room
Suggested by: KakashiSherigan
Category: Room Decor
Customizable? N
Type: Purchased
Description: This would span all room styles. An area like a training room, or just for show... to be able to show off weapons on the wall. Like Gun Racks, Sword Racks, Axes etc. You can't use 'em, but would add some style.
Limitations: None

Upgraded Auto Doc/Tree of Wonder
Suggested by: Masked Malard
Category: Crafted
Customizable? No
Type: Unlocked, crafted on expert tables
Description: Upgrades to the current Inspiration dispensers that open up new inspirations, and higher grade ones. One of the greatest benefits is that it provides a great way to stock up on those awakens and such for those TF's gone bad.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Gladiators/mercenaries/guards
Suggested by: Masked Malard
Category: Defense
Customizable? y
Type: Unlocked, crafted on expert tables
Description: Through an expensive Control item, the SG/VG can have npcs that will patrol and defend the base. There should be several choices to chose from and a couple upgrades (sorta like MM pets). Mercenaries, Robots, Demons, ghosts, Ninja, Zombies, Thugs, Security guards, and Scientists should be options. Also each one should have the SG/VG emblem and colors if possible.

Category: teleport main

Type: unlocked, crafted, placement cost (25K @)
Description: Able to have three Beacons attached. Permitting small bases to use their Beacons without having to play sell/buy so we can go here now.

Expert TP Pad
Suggested by: Enerugijin (& many ppl)
Category: teleport main
Customizable: Allows 6 Zones (any type) per pad.
Type: unlocked, crafted, placement cost (50K @)
Description: These pads will allow us to connect up to six zones each. We can exit either from the Base point in a Major Zone or the Beacon Point in a Danger Zone. These pads use some very strange materials we brought back from the other dimension. I dont know if its alien technology or magic. But its so advanced it might as well be magic.
Size: Same as Basic TP Pad
Unlocked by: Advanced TP Pad + completing another SG Mission.
Suggest: The mission use one of the Dimensional Portals on Peregrine Island.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Trap room
Originally suggested by: Shogun Sho'Nuff
Category: Raid item / new room type
Customizable? Yes
Type: unlocked
Description: This room appears to be a regular 20 x 20 with one open door & one closed door. Once the closed door is interacted with both doors lock and the placed trap(s) (i.e. Popup turrets, acidic cloud generators, goblin tossers, popup flame throwers, repulsion cannon ) and the room trap (tech room would be one big robot, magic room would call forth huge ogre) will spring basically to wreak havoc amongst the invaders.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Dresser
Originally suggested by: Just_Leo (though I see similar ideas)
Category: item/ new category: tailor
Type: unlocked, purchased
Description: Allows you to "upload" a costume from any of your slots into a big repository of costumes (say 16 to begin with, enhanceable to 32 and 64). You can also "download" a costume off the Dresser into any of your slots. Both things cost influence to do, but not as much as it'd be to make the costume at Icon, since it's no longer a 'custom job'. That'd allow both to have a SG uniform downloadable into any toon without everybody having to go and redesign it off the specs, and for that single Icon nut that's in every SG to upload ten different costumes and carry only 4 around.
Limitations: can't make new costumes. Only 'save' and 'load' ones you already did, and paid for, at Icon.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Water
Suggested by: Bloodstryke
Category: Decorative
Customizable? Yes.
Type: purchased
Description: Add a natural/magical/technological source of water and use it to fill a swimming pool, decorative water garden, a fountain or mearly fill a room with splashable, swimable water.
Limitations: Requires a source and a form of containment. Only floating or bottom anchored items can be placed in water.
__________________________________________________ _
Floodgate
Originally suggested by: Bloodstryke
Category: Defensive/trap
Customizable? there should be a few styles.
Type: unlocked/crafted. special conditions: Requires water tank & and/or flooded area
Description: In a raid the floodgate opens and releases any water into the room under presure, raiders may be knocked down/back or disoriented and experience some damage.
Limitations: water tank can be destroyed, raiders may use hover or other travel powers to escape the deluge...can only be used once in a raid.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Lava
Suggested by: Satanic Hamster, others?
Category: Decorative
Customizable? no
Type: Purchased
Description: Cracked rocks with lava showing, as per caves. Animated lava flows, pools, fountains, etc. This could also be a Defensive Room purchase like mines that does a minor DoT on contact, but then it'd probably have to be destructible.
Limitations: Either decorative or destructible.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Decoys
Originally suggested by: DojromTRW, Henry_Stephens, ?
Category: defensive/raid
Customizable? no
Type: crafted, poss. unlocked after multiple Raid missions.
Description: Decoys are destructible Raid items that have the same graphic as other destructibles, but do not actually function. They are targetable, destructible, and cost less prestige to purchase and place than their "real" counterparts. Their main function is to waste the Raider's time and energy, lure them into deathtraps, or lure them away from expensive-to-repair base items.
Limitations: Cost power and control. No functionality other than being destructible. Limited placement options. Built from salvage. Items destroyed in a raid cannot be repaired.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Animated Wall Items
Originally suggested by: Satanic Hamster, many others
Category: decorative
Customizable? no, but a wide variety of options preferable.
Type: new item tab, purchased in edit window
Description: wall items that simulate "windows" to other places: Aquariums/underwater scenes, Starfield/outer space/moonscape, Skyscrapers with birds and the occasional cape flying by, beaches or sunsets, etc. Some (but not all) should also emit light, as a real window would.
Limitations: Wall-mounted. Decorative only. Limited amount placeable, as animations take up a lot of processor time.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Aquarium
Originally suggested by: Satanic Hamster
Category: decorative
Customizable? no
Type: purchased or craftable
Description: freestanding aquarium in various sizes and styles, animated with fish, bubbles and that little diver that goes up and down ceaselessly. Capable of mesmerizing the most strong-willed catgirl.
Limitations: Strictly decorative, unless you count the catgirl thing. Limited placement, as per any heavily animated item.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Room Divider Screens
Originally suggested by: Winter Blaze
Category: Room Details
Customizable? No
Type: purchased
Description: A paneled room divider screen. Perhaps 1, 2, 3 and 4 panel options can be included. Some could have oriental detailing and some could be plain or different colors
Limitations: It's pure fluff, but would help break up a room and create different areas within it by providing a "wall" (not too tall, just like a plain old screen) to separate seating areas, beds, etc.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Doors
Suggested by: Mr. Sprinkles
Category: Base Defense/Decoration
Description: Simply put, it'd be great to plant a door in a doorway, RIGHT along where the two rooms have their styles conflict. This would not only serve to be visually pleasing, but could provide a base defense. They would come in two different categories, decorative and base defense. Decorative would open on a right-click by someone, just like the sewer/warehouse/tech lab doors in missions, and likely close about five seconds after being opened. Defensive doors would follow the same guidelines, except that only base defenders could open them during a base raid, and they would be destroyable by the enemy raiders, as the council cell doors are.
Limitations: Can only be placed in doorways, with a limit of only one door per doorway.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Guardian Statues
Originally suggested by: Sleepy Kitty
Category: decorative
Customizable? no
Type: purchased or craftable
Description: <.< similar and same as the magic forcefield statue thingies, just only 10-100 prestige and don't do anything other than look really cool. Obviously Lions (besides the gargoyle grotesques), maybe some great Danes (dogs, ick!). These statues can be placed right next to doors (main use) but also look great everywhere ^.^ (I really want these, especially in the portal room to great ppl, I suggest the devs have a look at the old Tomb ones in the British museam (they're phinxes) and the normal great lions).
Limitations: no way at all used in pvp, does NOT make forcefields, they just look great!
__________________________________________________ ____________
Water Tiles
Originally suggested by: Sleepy Kitty, among others probably
Category: base style floor a/or decorative items
Customizable? yes
Type: purchased
Description: These are more an extra style option than something bought, but a purchaseable version could be doable in the form of one of those nice fountains that Galaxy had pre-arena, or maybe a birdbath or pool. Purely decore, these water tiles are for adding a stream, river, or lake to a room in your base. Possibly selectable to only effect a certain amount of the rooms tiles and depth od water based on how high it is from bottom floor lvl.
Limitations: purely decorative, have no useful functions except splashing ppl in the deeper ones.

Suggested by: Ryoku

Other Floors
Suggested by: Gravemaker
Category: base plot/ new room type
Customizable? Yes
Type: Unlocked via a special SF/SG PvP badge (see limitations)
Description: Raises the ceiling of the base to one story higher so you can add platforms in between. My intentions are to create something like the office map templates in CoV,
Limitations: a total of 4-5 floors can be added maximum. Unlocked with both a SF and a SG badge, or won by sucessfully attacking a base or defending your own...
__________________________________________________ ____________
Other Floors (version 2)
Suggested by: Gravemaker
Category: base plot/new room type
Customizable? Yes
Type: Purchased
Description:Another area for your base. Requires an elevator room, or a transdimensional portal room. Once you have the required objects you are able to buy a second base plot, this functions the same as the old one except the entrance would lead back down/up to your first area, good for 2 part raids or those who want a tower type base.
elevator could require access key (or mystic item for arcane portal) and/or a force field in the door way, requiring the attacking team to destroy/disable the switch/generator before proceeding
Limitations: Extremely costly. For veteran SGs only, perhaps only 1 per SG

Advanced Reclamator (Rez Ring)
Originally suggested by: MourningStar
Category: Medical
Customizable? N
Type: Unlocked purchaseable
Description: Improvement from the Basic version. While the Basic version only allows 25% HP/END recovery, this version allows for 50% HP/END recovery. This version will also allow up to 4 Med Aux attached to it. This will give you a total of 90% hp/end with max med aux.
Limitations: None

Slot Machine
Originally suggested by: @bland
Category: Decoration/storage
Customizable? N
Type: Unlockable
Description: Slot machine - you click it gambles 50 influence. Sometimes you win (returns 100 influence), sometimes you lose.
Limitations: In order to keep balance, you cannot win more than anyone has lost. You can seed the machine initially with starting influence, but there is no way to "withdraw" from it, short of winning. Only SG members may use the device.
Unlimited numbers may be placed, but only in a decorative room.

Tax Break
Originally suggested by: Sleepy Kitty
Category: sg needed
Customizable? sure! why not?
Type: unlocked (special conditions)
Description: this item would be put in base and cause taxes on base items to not be charged instead of the current charging Tax and rent. Ultimatly, letting SGs actually have rooms and decorate them too.
Limitations: obviously, only 1 per base. If rent is still calculated far and above what the SG makes in a payperiod, then item will self-destruct, taking the room it's in with it. This will cause about 60% of sgs with one to lose said room every other week.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Sparring Room
Suggested by: Vermic

Description: This 2x2 room expands into a holographic outdoor arena site for fights between group members. Similar to the public Arena, but with more streamlined options. Ideal for testing new powers, PvP training, or settling intergroup disagreements.

Gym Gear/Training Room Items
Originally suggested by: Wulfie, Ruin of Iron
(Ed. Note: compiling my Training Room suggestions here, also. - RoI)
Category: decorative
Customizable? n
Type: purchased in edit window
Description: Wulfie: "tatami practice mats, weapons racks for melee and ranged weapons, weight lifting equipment (including a superheavy model for superstrength characters), treadmills (maybe a version for superspeedsters, punching and heavy bags, practice dummies, etc."
RoI: 'In Breakout there objects that are targetable but not destructible... make a tab of "targetables" in with other "decorative" base objects: dummies, pells, punching bags, archery/firearm targets, robot drones, etc. Also: decorative non-targetables like weapon racks, wall-mountable "trophy" things, swords and axes and shields and dead animal parts, to give a room a more martial feel.'
Limitations: decorative items only. no benefit derived from targetable items.
(Ed. Note; my own additions to Wulfie's ideas are from this thread. )

Customizable? no, but many options possible (Select from: Jet, Helicopter, Submarine Dock, Spaceship, Ground Vehicle)
Type: unlocked/crafted
Description: a helicopter or aircraft in a hangar bay room, the doors to it are part of the ceiling feature. Hangar Bay acts as a teleporter to missions only, much in the manner of the 'board train' missions. Compatible with SG oriented missions given from the computer.
Purpose: We won't have vehicles in CoH for any foreseeable time, but this gives the SG the illusion that they're swinging into action aboard their own SG-owned supervehicle (and let's face it, who doesnt want their own batmobile/blackbird?)
Limitations: mission delivery only

Base Music
Originally suggested by: Anti-Proton

Type: purchased/unlocked (SG trial)
Description: takes heros to second floor of base where personal rooms of each hero are in base (ie, rooms that, that hero can decorate).
Limitations: Elevator doesn't operate during base raids due to safty concerns (ex fire!) and neither raiders or residents can get up there till the emergancy is over.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Personal Rooms
Suggested by: o.o everyone! (this version: Sleepy Kitty)
Category: New Room Type/Decorative room
Customizable? very!
Type: purchasable
Description: personal space in bases. Each member of the sg has a doorway on the second floor. If the door is open/ajar then that person has set permissions to let others enter their room/see what they've done with it. If the door is closed, it's locked and only the owner can come in. The room(s) are similar to normal bases, except with alot more decore options (beds, desks.. personal type items, wall displays for souvenirs! and badges!!). Items in room and aditional rooms can be purchases through inf (or maybe badges/trials) and can only exist inside that room.
Limitations: rooms are decore only and don't aid/effect base/sg raids and trials, purely for fun ^_^ also, rooms are tied into elevator, so during raids, defenders and attackers can't go up to/enter the rooms (so no hiding!)

Return to Base Transporter
Originally suggested by: JazonZ
Category: other
Customizable? N
Type: crafted
Description: Creates a permanent click power for all SG members so they can TP back to base. Would add more value to having zone TPers.
Limitations: there would have to be at least a 15 second count down before you port so this can't be abused as a way to avoid dying in PvP or PvE.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Advanced Teleporter
Suggested by: Sleepy Kitty
Category: Teleporter
Customizable? N
Type: unlocked/crafted
Description: an advanced version of the basic teleporter, can handle 15 zones/beacons at a time (might want to have a medium tper too that handles 8 or something).

Endurance Emitter
Originally suggested by: Archrex Dojhrom
Category: (medical or defensive, perhaps? Room type not specified)
Customizable? No
Type: unlockable crafted. (SG defeats 10,000 sappers)
Description: "Prolonged Combat with Malta Sappers has Earned you a design for a super power restoration machine". A tech device that boosts endurance regeneration in a short radius, similar to CoT Endurance Crystals.
Limitations: One per room.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Prison Room
Suggested by: Archrex Dojhrom, many others since beta.
Category: new room
Customizable? a variety of styles should be available.
Type: Purchased. Unlocked by SG badge, perhaps 1000 council missions.
Description: "With many missions deep into the bowels of the Council/5th Column bases you have learned how to bypass the medical transport system and perfected a room to hold invaders." A prison room to hold defeated Base raiders, a la the Council mission maps. Basic Version starts with 4 holding cells, a 20% chance to capture defeated raiders, and a (relatively) flimsy prison door. Disables travel powers temporarily.
Limitations: Requires upgrades (see below) to be effective.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Prison Door (or Force Field)
Originally suggested by: Archrex Dojhrom
Category: new (prison) room auxiliary
Customizable? N
Type: purchased in edit window. unlocked by 10/100/500/1000 Base Missions a/or Raids
Description: "Many incursions and invasions have proved the worth of sealing vital rooms and holding prisoner behind better doors". An improvement to Prison rooms and Vaults. Comes in Light, Medium and Heavy.
Limitations: Prison doors do not respawn regardless of thickness and HPs until forcefield is discovered. Heavy Prison Door = Current Council/CoT doors

Basic/Improved/Heavy MTS Jammer
Originally suggested by: Archrex Dojhrom
Category: new (prison) room auxiliary
Customizable? N
Type: unlocked by Prison & 100/500/1000/5000 PvP instanced missions
Description: "Foiling the other side is what your group does best. Predicting your enemies location you have learned how to further jam the MTS." Boosts the chance of raiders to spawn inside your base prison instead of teleporting to the hospital by +5%, 10% and 15% respectively.
Limitations: Jammers will have a heavy energy cost and high price. 5 million for the Elite seems fair for a temporary "choke point"

I originally made this thread as a consolidated wishlist, as individual suggestion threads tend to get lost in the shuffle.
This is version two; new, improved and much more consolidated than version one. I've put all the items from the original thread together at the top; take a moment to review them so we don't get a lot of doubles. I will PM the moderators and see if we can't get it stickied as well.
Guidelines:
1) Stick to the standard format, makes it easier to read/skim through.
2) Keep it positive. Plenty of other threads to grouch on, folks.
3) Descriptions should be brief & to the point.
4) Give credit where credit is due: Cite the original idea-holder if you can.
5) If you're pretty sure you aren't the first to suggest it but you don't know who else has, drop the "Originally" and just say "Suggested by:" instead.
6)As always, any mistakes are mine. PM me if you have complaints or corrections, but please don't flame within the thread.

New Base Items We'd Like To See
Wall Signs
Originally suggested by: CodeGuy
Category: Decorative
Customizable? Yes.
Type: Purchased in the edit window.
Description: Customizable wall-mounted signs/bulletin boards. "The ultimate would be a signboard that we could type anything into. If that's not possible, then it would be great if there were just a bunch of signs to choose from that we could hang anywhere."
__________________________________________________ ____________
(Origin-Specific) Enhancement Stores
Originally suggested by: Aergonaut
Category: medical auxiliary
Customizable? no
Type: crafted, presumably an unlocked recipe.
Description: "..Able to sell enhancements of all types in the appropriate level ranges (5/10 TO, 15/20 DO, 25+5n (n >= 0) SO) and buy back enhancements at store prices... They could even break the store up into origin-specific items, if they wanted..."
Limitations: Increased price from regular Vendors/Contacts. Each separate store is origin-specific.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Base Storage
Originally suggested by: Unknown. Suggested many times since Beta.
Category: other/new
Customizable? No
Type: Purchased or unlocked
Description: A place to donate Supergroup Salvage and Crafted items for the Supergroup as a whole. This serves multiple purposes: Firstly, crafted items put into Storage do not disappear if the crafter leaves the SG. Secondly, it allows those with crafting priveleges access to all Salvage, and allows the designated base Architects to place crafted items according to their own plans for the base.
Limitations: Will probably require their own room/category. presumably, limited storage capacity. upgrades and other Aux items should be craftable.
__________________________________________________ ____________
SuperGroup Uniform Creator
Originally suggested by: BloodStryke
Category: decorative/other/new
Customizable? yes
Type: unlocked craftable recipe
Description: A design station or display case that allows "...a very special extension of the tailor shop. Costume does not take over any existing costume slots. All SG members can now wear the same uniform in SG mode, not just the same colors... Over time, additional SG costume slots could be unlocked; winter and summer uniforms, battlesuits, different looks for different ranks. Special SG logoed gear might also become available such as jet packs, scuba gear, etc. The first costume slot should be fairly easy to unlock and relatively cheap to build..."
Limitations: "This might technically require three designs, one for male, one for female, and one for huge. Actually recieving your costume will probably require costumizing at the tailor, until you can actually build a tailor annex. Later SG costume slots and special gear will be more challenging to acquire."
__________________________________________________ ____________
Base Servant
Originally suggested by: The_RaZ
Category: decorative/other
Customizable? yes
Type: craftable
Description: "the ability to hire/buy/construct a servant for your base: Butler, Robot, Summoned Demon, etc... depending upon the SG style. Acts as an interface for various aspects of the Base. For example if you wanted to put something in [Base Storage]: simply click on the servant and ask them to put it in the [Base Storage]." Possible other uses; BBS system, greeter, bartender.
Limitations: mainly decorative, no defensive or raidable purpose. Possibly kidnappable by raiders!
__________________________________________________ ___________
SG BBS
Originally suggested by: MadScientist, Lothart, others(Suggestion Forums)
Category: decorative/other
Customizable? yes
Type: craftable
Description: "a decorative whiteboard and messageboard you can use in SG bases... where you can post discussions to your SG. (Read-only for visitors to your base... or not, based on settings.) ...[covers] things like organizing Raid times and Salvage swapping." "Nothing fancy, just a text board. E-mail is already in game so all we need is a way to e-mail to the message board and let everyone read it."
Limitations: Scales up in level, costing more Prestige. Limit on the maximum number of messages. Small: Memo Board (0 energy, 0 control) /Medium: Message Board (small E/C cost) /Large: Kiosk /Gigantic: Information Terminal (Tech) or Tome of Knowledge (Arcane)
__________________________________________________ ____________
Alarm Klaxon/Arcane Screamer
Originally suggested by: Ruin_Of_Iron
Category: defense auxiliary
Customizable? no
Type: purchased in the edit window
Description: triggers a loud alarm sound when a hostile gets within range. Alarm is heard throughout the base and continues until the item is destroyed or the raid ends/base resets. Klaxons and Screamers should have different alarm sounds from each other, so a base large enough to have both can differentiate between them. Ideally, both types should see through Stealth and Invisibility, though they don't "unhide" targets - they're just an alarm system.
Limitations: Requires tech/arcane-specific power and control. Placed in Defense rooms only. Does no damage. Easily destroyed.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Unique Raiding Base Badge
Originally suggested by: Ruin_Of_Iron
Category: decorative/other
Customizable? yes
Type: Unlocked by multiple IoP Task Forces - at least five.
Description: unlocking this item gives your SuperGroup a customizable badge that can be crafted and placed in your Base - ONCE. You can specify the title and text of the badge, and set it as either Exploration (anyone who enters the base can find the badge), Defense (awarded to all defenders after a raiding party is defeated) or Raider (awarded to all attackers after the base is succesfully raided.)
Limitations: One to a customer. Supergroups can only place ONE such badge, EVER, so maturity (and possibly a member-ratification process) should be in place. EULA-violating badges are removed from the database permanently and are not replaced.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Base Portal Beam Focuser
Originally suggested by: ReddDredd
Category: Aux.
Customizable? No.
Type: Tech Craftable, Expert Table
Description: Focuses the Base Portal return beam in Hazard Zones so that a toon who dies in a door mish in a Hazard Zone returns directly to the mish door, instead of the Teleport Beacon location of that Hazard Zone.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Grated Water Drain (small)
Suggested by: JazonZ
Category: Floor decoration
Customizable? N
Type: purchased
Description: Just a basement drain. So I can drain blood from my interrogation room. Would like to have versions that match all tile sets but matching sewer would be fine
Limitations: floor placement only.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Wandering off duty Heroes/Villains
Originally suggested by: JazonZ though similar to base pets mentioned above
Category: other
Customizable? N/A
Type: unlocked or special conditions
Description: Unused Alt characters wander around the base. Or sit and read or sleep. They can dissappear during a base raid but I would pay good money to see them AI defend my stuff.
Limitations: It can be just eye candy but might be fun as a base raid tool.
__________________________________________________ ____________
Doors
Originally suggested by: Mr Sprinkles

Description: Opens and closes
Limitations: only seatable in doorways

Hand Rails (not attached to a wood bridge, just free standing)
Originally suggested by: Mr Sprinkles and JazonZ
Category: room detail/item
Customizable? N
Type: purchased
Description: kind of like the roped off sections of those warehouse but instead of bowed ropes, they are straight up hand rails.
Limitations: place anywhere free standing on the floor
(NOTE: I know there are items that can kind of mimic this but just a length of rail to keep people from falling off a raised platform would be nice.)
__________________________________________________ ___________
Worldwide Action Monitor
Originally suggested by: Naufragus
Category: Control Aux
Customizable? N
Type: Craftable... Maybe SG PVP Badge requiremnet
Description: A cross between the mission computer and holodisplay. Lists activity in PVP zones. IE Number of Heroes, # of Villains. Shows current status of Hero/Villain battles in Sirens' Call. Maybe it could also report Giant Monster activity.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Costume Mannequins
Originally suggested by: Evil_Shadow
Category: Aux from Base Tailor
Customizable? Yes
Type: Unlocked, possible mini-mission from tailor, and then crafted for each one.
Description: A blank manequinn that can hold a costume of the placer's design. Requires a tailor residing in the base as it needs to be attached to it.
Limitations: Limited to a certain number per SG/VG, possibly one for each rank, making the cap at 5, though each one would need to be crafted and the full cost of the costume would need to be paid for use.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Base Tailor
Originally suggested by: Evil_Shadow, others?
Category: Main, New Room Type: Tailor (Low Room Cost, average Power/Control Req.)
Customizable? Yes
Type: Unlocked, Possible Special Mission from Icon/Facemaker, Always Availible to purchase
Description: A Tailor, who can change any of your current costume slots, SG costume slots (per BloodStryke's idea), and Mannequin costumes (see above). Three different types can be created, Normal, Tech, and Arcane, possibly more if more designs become available. Attendant can have his/her/it's uniform edited by Architects at any time, but only three would be allowed per base, each needing their own room, which would be fairly cheap as rooms go. Would always be availible to build in creation, but is fairly expensive, possibly on par with Main Power and Control Items.
Limitations: 3 per base, each requiring their own room. Can only edit current costume slots, not grant missions for additional costume slots. Possibly cheaper or more expensive than regular tailors, depending on devs' opinion.
__________________________________________________ ___________
Individual letters as wall hangings/signs
Originally suggested by: JazonZ
Category: Wall decoration
Customizable? N
Type: purchased
Description: Square shaped signs with a capital letter in each one. All letters of the alphabet plus numbers 0 through 9. That way we can spell stuff on the walls. Like over Zone TPers.. We could spell "ST M" and know that goes to St. Martial as one weak example.
Limitations: wall placement
__________________________________________________ ___________
Training Sim Room
Originally suggested by: Voyeur
Category: new room type
Customizable? Yes
Type: crafted
Description: You can create a room like a holodeck where you can choose different types of enemies to fight against. You can decide their AI and behavior so if you just want to test your damage and endurance usage, you could put the setting on 'punching bag' and work them over. Or you can put them on 'aggressive' and have at it. Wanna see if your defender can solo a +2 Freak Tank? Try it!
__________________________________________________ ___________
Base NPCs
Originally suggested by: MaiTQuinn
Category: decorative/other
Customizable? yes
Type: ?
Description: NPC "citizens" that appear to be busy working in the base. There should be several types (Clockwork, demons, lab-coated civilains etc). The idea is to eliminate some of the sterile look of empty bases by showing some activity. If possible, they could have unique replies when poked by an SG member, for example, comments on what SG members have done lately ("Word on the street is that Power Blaster took out a bunch of Clockwork!") Again, if possible, allow the designer to pick from existing NPC models - e.g. the guy talking on the phone, the person with their feet in the bucket etc.

[ QUOTE ]
Keep in mind that anyone can copy a lvl 10+ toon to the test server, use that toon to make a sg, then make thier own pretty looking base complete with IoPs. I wouldn't put too much faith into anyone who says they made their own base on their own.
Not to call anyone here a liar, I'm just saying keep it in mind.
[/ QUOTE ]
To the best of my knowledge, there are only three IoPs available for placement on the Test Server interface, and they all look like gigantic fuzzy balls of yarn in various glowing colors. So the big floaty book isn't one of those.
Hence my curiosity. -
...Those tables DO look really nice!
I also like the things-on-Counters behind the sofas in the entrance room. Makes the whole place look lived-in and cozy. Why didn't I think of that? o_0
I'm not big on tech themes in general, but that's some good work there, Fallout. -
i thought IOPs hadn't gotten to the live servers yet...?
Nice looking one, though. What did it do? -
So.. wait. Foreshadow is new? Wasn't he in the trailer for City of Villains?
-
there's a "lighting" tab in the upper left info-box with the room info. click on it and you'll see three lighting sliders - High, Medium and Low lighting. You can change the color and the amount of light there. Like styles, you can click the "apply to entire base" option once you have something you like.
Regrettably, the sliders only change the ambient light in the base - lamps and other items in the "lighting" item menu won't be affected. -
Ceiling Mount
Tal_N, your base looks excellent, especially the meeting room. Nice work!
I've tried my hand at a decent Sewer base, but just couldn't make it look cramped and scary enough. The rooms are, if anything, too BIG. Also the lack of proper pipe assemblies and sewage sloughs annoyed me after a bit.
I'm still toying with a Base on Test, though my whopping SG of three has actually started to earn enough to buy functional rooms now... with the rent as it is, it doesn't really make sense to start putting a Base together unless you can start getting something out of it immediately, y'know?
This base is less of a sewer and more of an understory - underground, but beneath a building rather than the street. The wooden floor beams of the old warehouse above form the ceiling of the base.
Ruin has put in the Basic Necessities, and added a Sparring Room for himself. Mal'rathad's tastes are more spare, so his meditation chamber is quite empty. I'm hoping we'll have folding screens or other wall dividers soon, so Mal can have a bit more privacy. Our newest member, the Autumn Razor, has yet to prove himself, so he doesn't have his own room yet.
Overview - the extra "decorative" 2x2 rooms are Control Rooms - prob'ly should have made them Workshops, but oh well. Still relatively cheap.
Medical - an Arcane ring with an area for surgery, and two alcoves for patients to rest in. Necessities nearby. This and the Sparring Room are the most finished rooms. the rest are still pretty bare.
Sparring Room - Ruin Of Iron's personal space. A practice mat, a small desk for planning heists, a couch to sleep on, and a place to stash ill-gotten goods. What more does a Brute need?
Sparring Room 1
Sparring Room 2
Teleport Room - And they said it couldn't be done! Behind you can see the Control room also. Note the placement of the Teleport Beacons above.
Workshop - A little spartan, but I like it. The Mossy Block serves as a placeholder for the Advanced Table.
Control Room - just a divot in the hallway connecting the Workshop with the Sparring Room, really.
Meditation Chamber - Mal'Rathad's personal space. Until we get rugs and wall hangings this room is going to be dull. Alas. But Mal seems to like it, and that's what matters.
Meditation Room 1
Meditation Room 2
Meditation Room 3
I've forgotten a few areas, like the mini-area at the entryway... but i'm still tweaking things here and there. Eventually I'm hoping to have a base as interesting as the other ones in this thread.
Gah... must stop posting and go to work.. ;_; -
Ramps (Wall-jointed)
Actually, I always figured the CoT Jawas..er, Guides, were what happened to the female Thorned. Disembodied mages nearly always choose male bodies because they're 5,000+ year old chauvinists, and set in their ways. Mages who are forced/tricked into female bodies are mortally embarrassed, and wear green fuzzy hooded bathrobes to cover their shame.
Plus, the other mages make fun of them.
What I wanna know is, where are the female Mu? Unlike the CoT, they're supposed to be the LIVING descendants of an ancient race - they've no excuse at all! -
Yes. Yes they would.

Coulda sworn they were in here somewhere already... 0_o
Gah! how could I have missed it? All righty then...
Lava
Originally suggested by: Satanic Hamster, others?
Category: Decorative
Customizable? no
Type: Purchased
Description: Cracked rocks with lava showing, as per caves. Animated lava flows, pools, fountains, etc. This could also be a Defensive Room purchase like mines that does a minor DoT on contact, but then it'd probably have to be destructible.
Limitations: Either decorative or destructible.
Hm, interesting... was trying to place this at the beginning of the thread... 0_o
Will attempt again.
Edit: phooey. I can't get into the posts I reserved earlier, making them completely useless. I'd have to start a whole new thread to recompile everything into one list. Which I'd rather not do.
Oh, well. We'll see how it goes, I guess. -

Limitations: Minimum 5 souvenirs/badges, max 15 per room bought. No limit on number of rooms bought.

Gym Gear/Training Room Items
Originally suggested by: Wulfie
RoI:"In Breakout there objects that are targetable but not destructible... make a tab of "targetables" in with other "decorative" base objects: dummies, pells, punching bags, archery/firearm targets, robot drones, etc. Also: decorative non-targetables like weapon racks, wall-mountable "trophy" things, swords and axes and shields and dead animal parts, to give a room a more martial feel."
Limitations: decorative items only.

Hangar Bay
Originally suggested by: Wulfie
Category: transport/new room

Category: decorative/QoL
Customizable? no
Type: purchased
Description: A list of all the game music and Boombox tunes, set by SG leaders. Mostly just to get players into the Heroic/Villianous mood. Music can be piped to new rooms by crafting new speakers.
Limitations: wall placement, unable to add music from other sources.

Ambient Sounds
Originally suggested by: Ruin_Of_Iron
Catergory: decorative/new tab (sounds)
Customizable? no
Type: purchased in edit window
Description: placeable sound effects not attached to an object: machine noises, water drips, tinny TV/Radio newscasts (Radio Free Opportunity!), lounge lizard music.
Limitations: extremely localized effect - a few feet to either side of the setpoint. No more than two to a room.
