  2. Hokay... Sorry this is a tad overdue. I wound up never realy getting to concentrate on it until last week when i was at a 24 hr live in client. Thankfully the nice elderly lady liked to nap... a lot. Would have been up last week but didn't get the thin inks on the tsoo torso's done till this very afternoon.

    All that being said I went for comic levels of gore... So be warned this is not a General audience or PG rated picture... More like PG13. You've been warned. J/K

    Ok, now coloring... still not so good at that on the comp. The mouse is such an alien tool to me stil lfor art. But perhaps in time. Meanwhile feel free to color it yourself Laz or just use it as a black and white. If your gonna keep it black and white might I suggest using a fill tool to black out the background behind the statue, paper wall things and all the flying gore.

    I'll miss Cuppa though so I thought I should get the lead out (or rather the graphite) sit and get busy on some art for this thread. My baby Corruptor can wait a bit.

  8. Though we can clearly see the costume itself... I at least... can't realy see for sure which face/mask/detail etc your using. When I try to blow it up in photoshop for a better look it all goes to heck. Could you possibly show us a better close up from the source?

    If so I might be able to scribble something on paper and scan it. I'm kinda guessing which ones your using but would prefere a proper close up from you. Also do you wan't the face to be a carbon copy of the City of one or do you have a photo of self/actor/FX 'gore' critter you'd like that mug to look like?

    Please also make sure any screenie is taken in a nice bright well lit area in game.. Photshop can only do so much. Shadow I can add myself later. The detail I need to see now... so to speak.

    I make no 100% garantees but provided personal life doesn't go crazy or I suffer some grevious injury or have a bout of bone idleness you should see something soon.

    I won't even begin though if I don't see a nicer, closer and cleaner screenie of the face and or a description/screenie of the face you want.

    Owch theres a valid point... what if your the last soul left on a TF half way or more done and you actualy want to complete it?

    Surely something could be done for 1-2 folks left in a Grand finale mission of a TF with the loss of the rest of the team due to whatever issues or needs came up at home?

    A World Spawn is a spawn that takes place in the game-world, not in an instanced mission.

    The Hamidon Mitochondria are an example of an Arch-villain World Spawn, and thus will not be reduced in any way by this change.

    I don't know Posi... Hami takes a long long time on a less populated server... And in our case just not enough folks around on Victory even have that kind of time and or the inclination to even bother do it... We have tried. Real concentrated effort tried. Numbers just not enough and abilities of those that do come since enhancement diversification sepcificaly (the 'Hold' duration of powers) Victory and possibly other servers can manage to get a full and total hold on him is just .. . don't mean to whine but well just far harder then it deserves to be. In fact nothing in this game should be 5 hours labor then total denial cause you didnt have enough controllers... Or am I wrong here?!?! Tell me your intent isn't that the only way to beat hammi is to have over 80 control powers trying to hold that guy... cause right now that's pretty much what it is.

    If those mitos were merely elite bosses the emphasis on abosolutely having to hold Hamy so he cant spawn one for each and every hero and pet present might not be quite as devistating as it is now... also the event might be more attractive with easier to take down mitos in the first place so folks can get right on to hamy himself, and I might add may see more action overall on all servers not just our medium low Victory. Call it a quality of life thing... but those Mitos should not be AV's. Or in no way should Hami spawn that many if the hold fails when he gets to half damage... If he shot out say 2-4 teams could be kept on standby to attempt to get them before a total wipe occurs. As it is the mito spawn when hami's at half is just a "Sorry suckers! Better luck next time..." For one small error after all that effort and work by so many people. If you want to keep the mitos AV's and 2-3 hour effort to clear them then the hour or meore spent trying to hold then take out Hami needs to be more resonable... nerf his resistance a tad please. Pretty please...

    Please... Rethink that raid altogether.

    Personal opinion. I am admittedly a little looney.

    As for the rest of the changes and pull back on the Stealth nerf. Bravo way to listen to your customers.

    Or have the NPCs occassionally run for the doors and escape. In either case, NPCs should not be in the vaults period. I'd be pretty scared if somebody robbed a bank while I was there, but the vault is the last place I would run to. I'd probably just lay on the ground until the robbers left.

    Actually it would be really cool (and way more realistic) if the number of NPCs went down as the mission went on. I don't now .. one hitting the front door every minute and the others moving toward the exit at a similar pace ...

    That's a pretty good idea too... but then you'd have folks playin realy evil villians insiting they get to try to plug em' before they can escape... I mean theoreticaly. Can't interact at all right now. Perhaps the only solution is to simply limit scurying NPC's to 3 tops in any mish.

    And please for the love of heaven NO Paragon City SWAT skinned NPC's flitting about... Thats just silly to see the guys in better armor and gear then the Rogue Island Police running arround while the RIP's try to stop the robbery. I mean what is up with that? Paragon PD on holiday? Well they apparently know how to dress for holiday in the Rogue Isles ... Got to give em credit for that... but I never see them on the streets. Can you mix in a few Islands themed shirts with the SWAT gear and helmets? They'd look more comfortable and seem more like theyre realy on holiday.

    I also happen to agree on the 'crazy NPCs' in the bank missions. They are cool, short, and fun; but the NPC's make them a true annoyance with most characters.

    Idon't like em at all... It makes no sence to have so many of them running arround... My Villians are all lovable rogue types no ruthless killers but even they would be crackin' some heads unless they all lay on the ground and put their hands over their heads... Which by the way is the only thing those NPC's should be doing unless we are allowed to interact with them by 'knocking them out' if killing goes beyond PG rating... and even if such npc interactivity were ever allowed I would still expect at least half of them to have enough brains to lay on the floor and cover their heads.

  18. Agreed. Trick Arrow just got turned into nigh total crap. For the love of mike Dev's Defender Single target Holds that do zippo damage (Pretty much all of them) and one that does Zippo damage and no secondary effect (Pet Gaze) should have shorter recharges and higher durations than Blaster Holds (as much as I love my blaster alts this does cheese me off... but for heavens sake don't nerf them just improve those defender primary power list holds.) It's rediculous. Utterly and completely assinine.

    PS: As it is your not making this set particularly attractive. You are pretty much ENFORCING the need for Hasten and Stamina on so many builds with I5 it isn't even funny. Time to make those two inherent at certain levels me thinks.... Seems to be your insisting we have them.

    One thing I noted the Matrix did do right before I gave up on that game for other reasons was that NPC's needing an escort could be told to follow you or stay put. Now since this is CoH im not expecting AI this clever (in matrix you could also tell your 'pet' what to do) but I suspect... I could be wrong... but I suspect NPC's that your Escorting will actualy become 'pets' attached to you by a AI leash. At least we can hope for thus much. It's also entirely possible with such an AI that NPC's capable of fighting might choose to do so... but if they move accross CoH maps withought your consent like NPC's in WoW do... Urrrg Bleh! Gah Ick... OMG are they stupid or what? Need I say more?....

    You'll have to pry Force Bolt from my dying grasp. Its the most useful power in the set after the big three by far. You can, however, have the upper four powers in the set and I'd barely miss 'em.

    There's nothing wrong with a Defender set being Controller'y. Look at Dark Miasma. The problem with FF isn't that it gets control powers instead of buff/debuffs. The problem is that FF's "control" powers don't actually control much of anything.

    Thank you for replying to this in calm and very exact terms... so I didn't have to do it in angry words. Words I would most likely Regret. Regret that I spazzed on some poor guy/gal who has no real idea about Force field's So Called 'Control' methods... but not in what I would have had to say about Force Field's so called control.

    It's about as much Control pal as energy blaster withought any damage, and some poor Grav controler or Dark defender who were foolish enough to take Black hole or Grav's largely untouched phase power (actualy those two are even worse then Detention's current form since they randomise which villians you hit... At the very least det bubble is just one target and as such can be used at times... how much more daily, hourly, minute by minute and in a fight seconds by seconds use would you see out of Det bubble were it a Mag 3 hold by comparison? A hell of a lot more... That's bloody what.

    Now that being said let's hit the crap hoel force field powers and say I was a Dev, I'd finaly give Force field It's bloody due.

    Here's some changes I'd make.

    If you didn't need a friendly target for Repulsion bomb and every knock back in the set applied a Mag 2 disorient... then and ONLY then could you begin to call it any form of control.... Before yo usay "Thats over powered" Look what the other sets Get. Rad get's 2 forms of Mag 3 or 2 Hold's in the Primary.... Dark gets a fast charging mag 3 hold and pets that also cycle thru and use this hold. Emps at least can actualy defend the Team VS all the types of mez resist while FF persists in having this double edged sword Sleep mez and PSI damage hole (one or the other there would be gone if I had my way) Storm has a Mag 2 autohit disorient.. .which granted is damn dangerous to use and in my opion should be a mag 3 to make up for that. the things that can one or 2 shot you after after it's use are exactly the things left awake and ready to kick your [censored] if you can't back it up with a secondary effect form a blast... and what options are there for our Storm fenders for that... one AOE from Dark and one single from Rad... If your not using Dark or Rad then no stack there... (No Soup for you) Is a little disorient and targeting of foes instead of friends too much to ask for for Force field to couple with at least the same blast types storm can try to do?

    And Detention bubble as I have stated many times should be a freakin mag 3 hold. I know.. .I know some of you love it.... but honestly and trust me here once you have a mag 3 hold you can actualy attack through It's so much more of a differece in how well you can defend a team and yourself that you wont miss it... and honestly DE emanators Die nice and fast now, It's not realy needed as a cover anymore.

    Next... that pig's ear Force Bubble. Anything touching the Force bubble should have it's defence and damage resistance reduced.. .ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING actualy penatrating it Is greatly slowed (movement only not power recharge) and debuffed up the wazoo for it's Damage resist and Defence... my word... If theyre gonna push through that massively endruance draining bubble at least make them work for it. Personal opinion of course.

    I also belive both Repel and repulsion field should have a Leathal/Smash resist to account for any physical attack having to get past this field to strike the FF'r or Kinetic's user. I mean realy... Freak Tank swipes for full damage even though he was tossed back on his tookus several yards away? Please.... Pull the other one!

    Dispersion. Give it fair and square sleep resist or give it defence to PSI... Both is so utterly unfair in the late game as to be extreemly ... well annoying is not the word even... disheartening is much more like it. It sertainly made me want to rush my FF/Dark to 50 instead of actualy bothering with doing his own late game content unless other's were willing to help.. .as it was they wanted their missions done more then I wanted his.. .so thats what I did with him. Mostly... I little hanging out on wolf hunts and bridging helped too... i'm sorry if you think that's wrong or if it strike you as cheesy, but the character went from fairly fun and playble despite disapointments in the late powers to OMG this just "Sucks rocks"... All I was was a buff Bott despite extrodinarily well slotted blasts because If I dared to shoot in those missions he'd get soaked for damage (keep in mind the App's didn't go live till after I had him at 50... perhaps they would have made me have more fun... but realy the set on it's own should have done that at least as well aas it did in the 20's and 30's.)

    Ok ok, I did kinda go off on another tangent here didn't I? But I just cannot help it. FF just sucked up so much of my time... and I so want it to be good.. too pasionate about it for my own good I guess. why else would I spend one hour writting a post that i bet only a few folks even read?... But the alt's I'm playing now (cause I understand what this game actualy wants out of a toon for it to succeed and excel) are just so much more fun to play it's nuts. It just boggles my mind how anyone can look at Force field and Say "Everything is fine here." Just can't fathom it....

    Oh and something I'd add to empathy. shocked? A tidge of offence actualy. The game's largest single target debuff. And it would Debuff absolutely every stat and game mechanic on the target in question. Defence, Damage resist, Accuracy, Speed and recharge speed, endurace regen etc and it would also cause DOT damage while it's active. Because honestly folks, someone/thing that can heal and help via powers like the Empath's can... I don't believe for a moment that they couldn't use their mastery of that to cause some SERIOUS, probably untold Pain as well should they CHOOSE to do so (tossing that choose to line in to prevent the 'goody toe shoes, empaths only heal' comments that suggesting they can cause Misery as well might get from some folks). I mean tell me that doesn't make sence.. .and I'l ltell you what someone with even a little medial knowledge could do to you if they so choose to.. .let alone if such a person had 'Powers'.

    I also think O2 booost should be a very small AOE. My nodd to poor ol' storm... but that'll get left on def ears too.

    Hear, hear! I slotted my Ff/Dark's blasts just a fully as was possible... they and the dispersion bubble even have lots of hami-enhancers in them (not full but 18 altogether)... doesn't fix the fact that FF is gimp and Dark blast is weak unless you can debuff damage resistance or at least have a single target hold you can shoot through and make recharge fast enough to hold pesky Psionic bosses. Late game anyway....

    I would have to say....try out a mid-to-high level Dark or Rad Defender for a while and then get back to me on how "overpowered" FF would be with worthwhile upper level powers. I've played all of the above to at least the 30s at one time or another. FF with stronger upper tier powers would not be in any danger of being uber compared to Dark and Rad unless the new powers were over-the-top by themselves.

    That's entirely a matter of how you choose to focus. You won't be able to focus on upper-level FF powers and expect to do much, but you *can* focus on an APP like psychic and become a ghetto controller on top of bubbles. Thats what I did with Starshield. She's no Bubble Controller, but the control tricks in the APP combined with the Medicine pool make her much stronger team support than she is with just FF.

    Yes, I tried the other's on test with my FF/Dark, but was pretty much FORCED to choose the Mind Epic/ancilary pool. I still shoot stuff (as the Defender secondary suggests) so to hell even going with the AOE sleep that should have been "Iron will" mez resist (in my humble opinion.. .sarcasm mode off ) but I definitly took Dominate, the Armor and of course TK. TK wich as a repel with a mag 3 hold replaced any notion of taking Force bubble again... ever. Shure, sure you have to pin the TK'd mob(s)somewhere but you had to do that for the bubble too have even the slightest use too and it never stopped them for hitting you with range attacks... TK and Dominate will. It would have been fun to get to try the other Epic pools on live but I guess my quick leveling Dark/Elec will be the toon to get to do that. Most certainly not my FF'r.

    Chiming in after this great quote... that yes I totaly agree here. Any time now that our SG has someone with an AV of pretty much any sort, my friends are wondering why I choose to take in my level 36 Dark/Elec rather then just hoping in with my level 50 FF/Dark. Heck even when I feel like working something other then the Dark fender I still don't go in with the Force fielder... I'll take my 16 Claws/Regen, or my 32 Illusion/Storm... Or hell even my level 14 Grav/Rad as long as somebody can t-port my tookus to portal corp.

    Hmmm... Anyone here guess why I prefere to take ANY of these over the 50 FF/Dark (who even has 22 hami-o's... they didn't help ) anyone at all?...
