The Vorpal Sword
Powers :the blade is well balanced for the old "one ,two" attack, the blade is horridly sharp , alowing it to go " through and through " the target . When wielded the sword makes a "snicker-snack!" sound . The power of the blade is such that it can cut the head off a burbling Jabberwock .
However it has the side effect of making the wielder galumph after a fight .
Worn by : many a poor hero ....

personally I find im typing as fast as I can to keep up with the RP and what ever errors creep in I beg forgiveness for .... or i correct afterwards .. , like i have just Capped the I's.... is using the word cpping allowable ...

i do agree that Names should start Capped it does make reading easier.

also internet speak ,in one way im in favour .. in that its a short hand for emotional keys in the speach ... rather than .. (( Rock laughts out loud at the joke )) ..lol seem fine ...however use of m8 should be a banning issue .. banning fron oxygen .

if we are going to make character what are going to be SG colours / mask etc as you mentioned ...

me thinks controllers and non trick arrow defenders are going to be tricky to do as non supers ...mind you with plenty of tanks the archery blaster is going to have no agro worries ..

if there is a issue with too many tanks i have a broadsword scrapper idea that would fit ...

one clear issue with all historic figures that they are product of their times george washington today is reguarded as a good man ,a hero figure , the father of a nation based on freedom , but he owned slaves .. something normal in his day ...
Translating a historic figure into a modern setting is very difficult because the moral , social and political landscape is very very different ... matters like the death penalty for crimes SHOULD be a major conflicts to such people and the modern citizens ....To claim they have adapted is frankly poo , just look at any old person , they retain the moral , social and political view and vaklues they had in their youth .., and to say the historic person has changes really means they are no longer thet person , just a moden day person with the historic name.

so if your claiming to be a historic figure , they should to a large degree act the same as they did in 1123 Ad or what ever .. which normally means might is right

ok now quasi historic vampire villians i think we can treat as a different case , lumping them in with king arther , merlin , robin hood , and the like and i have no problem with characters given a "real" world historic back ground given that they are clearly fantacy figures and every one should accept them as such .

Blaster heavy is ok just long as you let the tank/s get good agro , unless you want the debt badge early .. lots of blaster will also kill fast which helps ... once taunt is online will be even less of a issue ..

As to knockback not a issue , Ace was running around a lot as he has no taunt yet , so needed to hit mobs off of the less armoured characters .

As to next meet im ok apart from Sat 8th ..i can be flexable as long as i know the day before

is the tech itself themed ? ie steampunk or wired or enforcer look ?
is it power suits or small gozmos ?
how high tech is the tech ? extreme versions of RL tech , or startrek tech level ?
im i right in assuming characters are all normals using the tech ? not say AI's or robots ?
and for back stories who owns / designs / builds the tech

so do your mean a team based around a single tech source ie looted rikti tech , or based around a collection of various tech ideas from a single RnD company , sort of a hero crey corp ?

with the heroes being normals with equipment , rather than having any inherent powers ?

btw i would not be too much of a hurry to dump the archer theme , such restiction often lead to cunning plans , cleaver combo's and make one think when playing , instead of the too often seen "head down and charge " play style.

if it was a bomb what was the explosive .. was the steel frame of the building merely bent or was it melted ? ?

i think you have exposed one of the main issue in your opening examples .. our RP hero/villians are much more than simple the CoX powersets we have picked for our gaming ,your Hatesman vs Loup fight is all about the RP vision of the power of the two character ..their game lvls and powers are of litle matter to the RP ing of the fight.
Now i may be getting the wrong take on this but
from a RP point of view would it not be the case more often than not that the plot / script will determine who will win the fight , and its a case of RP the action and "special effects" of the fight?..more like choreographing the scene. In which case you could storyboard it between the players adding in each persons signiture moves / attacks like a movie .
OR are you looking for a out of game system to randomly calulate the fights out come ? in which case there are on the web a number of sites that will genarate random dice roll results for you , but i have no idea how you could possible figure in all the various attack , defence , cunning plan , power of the one ring ,etc. factors in to give a result , you would have to detail the RP image of the character in massive detail .... much easier to just PvP in game and get someone to watch and make notes .
I hope you do get some good ideas , as you say , its a RP area we tend to negelect when it should be a comman event ..
