I hope this is the right place for this question..
Every time I try to upload an icon for my social group it tells me the upload failed. I've made sure my icons are less and 200x200 or 65.535KB, and it fails with both the external host option and upload option. Tried Chrome and Firefox.
Now that I look, even our individual icons are just question marks. Is this broken for everyone?
Thanks! -
I went ahead and ordered it too. Thank you so much for the detailed recommendation Je Saist.
Are there specific ports that CoX uses that need to be reserved? -
Sort of off-topic... does anyone know anyone on the "Virtueverse" GC? I heard that was the one to be on, but I've never met anyone actually on it.
-
I'm trying to see if they are still active. Just "Icon", not "The Icons". Thanks!

This is for GLOBAL CHATS with members that could be playing toons on Red or Blue side. When looking for a teammate, the toon name isn't really that important. LVL and ARCH is.
-
Quote:I was really just looking for a way to shorten the length of my toon I.D. on Global Chats, nothing more. Pure aesthetics. I assumed there had to be some sort of singnifier for hero/villian if they had things like #lvl and #battlecry, especially for PVP and shared zones. So for example, an NPC at Pocket D could say:Being nit-picky about it the code for these two "games" have never really been separate. Even back when CoV was still something you could buy separately from CoH the client program you loaded on your computer was exactly the same whether you played CoH, CoV or both. The only thing that was handled separately as far as what game you were playing was your account info, which officially got merged years ago.
Once Going Rogue hits in a few weeks the lines between CoH and CoV are going to be blurred even more. Ultimately I'm not sure what purpose a "game /bind $variable" would serve. Whether you're technically playing a "hero" or "villain" will be based on what alignment your current character is, not which program you logged into. *shrugs*
So instead of a game $variable it might be more useful to have a new alignment $variable.
Perhaps that's what you originally meant?
"Good to finally meet you $player. You have quite reputation as a $hero/villian."
$archetype works great, I just wished the archetypes were abbreviated. And, on top of that, the abbreviations may not be easily understood by all.
On the topic of how GR changes things... from what I understand, switching a hero to red and vice-versa is a long process. If I announce I'm lft in Atlas, my GC friends still have to know what game I'm playing, because villains just cant walk into Atlas from Port Oaks and join my team. They would have to go though the rouge/merc process to do that. Am I right? I might have misunderstood how GR works.
Quote:This, whenever I use a global channel I tend to include my $level and $archetype (but not the $name though, that's redundant and spammy) so that people could tell which side I was on.
Quote:There isn't a command that we know of, but you can make a workaround. If you put "Heroside" or "Villainside" as your Battle Cry on your ID card, you could use $battlecry to insert it into a phrase in a bind or set of binds. Then when you switch sides, you can just edit your battlecry and all your binds will automatically reflect that.
For those who like utilizing f10 for the $battlecry, simply rebind the phrase instead:
/bind f10 "say <insert custom battlecry here>$$emote attack"
Then you don't lose the function of your key, and you've given yourself a place to store your own variable for other binds.

You rock Master-Blade! -
If not, that would be awesome.

How exciting for you! A few tips:
1. They sell a lot of museum and concert tickets through little vending machines, and sometimes you have to buy tickets months in advance to see some of the cooler attractions.
2. "In-ter-net-o whaaaaa?" Was how I asked for wi-fi.
3. Tattoos are associated with the Yakusa so I downplayed mine. You also can't visit an onsen if you have visible tattoos
4. Young military men from the Military bases have a bad reputation at bars and clubs. Don't party anywhere you see U.S. soldiers. If you visit Tokyo, beware of partying in Roppongi.
5. They have a lot of little earthquakes all the time. It's not your imagination.
6. If you eat out, be aware of the "table charge" that is added to the bill. Some of the smaller places will try to rip off foreigners, but it is VERY rude to refuse or argue over a bill, so just pay for it.
7. The tap water is safe to drink in Japan, but the Kyoto water was not to my taste.
8. Not sure about Kyoto, but Tokyo has a Craigslist.com that has many, many cheap sub-lets and temporary apartments to stay at.
Hope you have a blast! -
I say that the muties IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AND SUBMIT TO REGISTRATION!!!

F5 is you friend. And, when I see a link, I yell for my mate to come read the code out loud for me while it loads.
But someone out there is a faster typist. -
Can't stand the heat? Turn off the Blazing Aura.

PDX - (PUBLIC) Portland, OR / Pacific NW Players Global Chat Channel
-
I know Portland is a WoW-town (what town isn't?), but It's also a comic book town. Bendis, Dark Horse, Gail Simone, Greg Rucka, Rick Remender, Top Shelf, Wonder Woman Day... I could go on forever; it's all here in PDX. It makes sense that CoX should be big here too, right?
Let's all get ready for Going Rogue (and City of Heroes 2 ?) together by introducing (and re-introducing) ourselves to each other, and by joining the PDX Global Chat Channel (PDX). Open to anyone from Portland and the Pacific Northwest.
I'm Robot, I live on Mt. Tabor. I'm on Virtue if you're looking for a server rec. I love RPing, writing, CoX cannon and art-design, comic books etc. I just finished Bendis' first PSU writing class, and I am psyched about Going Rogue, despite the Palin association.
How about you?
