  1. I ran through the first three story arcs solo yesterday. Actual play time was about 4 hours, with 2 additional hours reading the stories, crafting, selling, and chatting with SG buddies. In that time I got about 50 threads, 1 common component and 2 uncommon components. I also got the Adamastor Summon, a catalyst and a Purple recipe drop.

Granted, it wasn't as fast as the trials but it wasn't that bad.
  2. I played the sixth part of the SSA last night and bosses were running away after two hits on them. Even the elite boss at the end ran after three hits. It was especially annoying because the NPC helping in the mission kept following the runners and aggroing as many as 2 or 3 spawns at once.

If you want to get a higer tier power, you kind of are locked into a power choice. Plus, I wouldn't call crafting an incarnate ability a simple process. Time and luck are required to accumulate the threads and salvage needed to craft each level. Twice if you want to create a tier 4 power.

The devs created a small number of powers and linked a level shift to three of those powers. The Devs have proliferated some of those powers (and plan more) so they can be fit to themes or builds. And they tried to balance the powers so everybody wouldn't take the same power.

We've done the work already and then things were changed. I don't see why the devs can't create an incarnate respec so people can have more felxibilty and fun with their characters.

You know what, I'd be happy if that was a reward for finishing the last incarnate trial. It means people will play through content the devs want and not sit and wait until a power is made to fit a character before they start playing the end game. It also means that once they finish, they can make the character as they see fit.
  4. I've been asking about this since they first announced new Lore pets. Because the Lore pets give a level shift people wanted to unlock and upgrade those so they could be more effective. I remember running the trials the first few days and seeing team wipes because everybody was level 50+1 and having a hard time with the mobs in trials. After higher tiers were unlocked the trials ran smoother and faster because mobs were no longer conning purple.

The devs gave free respecs when they changed the way powers work so I don't see why they shouldn't be able to create a way to breakdown a crafted incarnate power.

    Level 52 or 53?

Short answer, yes. They would read Level 50 (+2) or 50 (+3). The rare and very rare alpha slots provide a level shift that is always on. Two of the new incarnate slots, I think lore and destiny, provide a level shift in the trials only.
  6. Thinking about this some more, there is a grind aspect to the trials, the Incarnate XP needed to open the slots in the first place. For me, it took about 5 or 6 runs through Lambda Sector to open both of those slots. It took about 5 or 6 tries to almost open the first slot linked to the BAF.

Making the Apex and Tin Mage II task force enemies drop incarnate threads would help break the monotony of these two trials as well as add different ways to gain incarnate XP. It would also get people to run them, since you can get 6-10 threads plus merits and compnents in the BAF and LS trials while only getting two threads and maybe some shards in the Apex and TM2 task forces.
  7. Since yesterday was my day off, I was able to play through both new missions multiple times, in multiple fashions.

My first impressions were similar to some, that doing these over and over were going to suck. But as I played through more and learned more, I realized I liked the missions. What I didn't like was people coming in using the LFG tab and thinking all they had to do was smash things and they'd win. Some players would listen, others wouldn't and they'd quit when things looked like it might take longer than a speed ITF. Especially with the Lamdba Sector trial. Then late last night, I got in a league on the BAF trial and we did really well on one of the three runs I was in. The others were lost during the prisoner escape phase. Some people got angry, but the trials only been out 2 days and everybody is learning what they need to do in these missions. But the one time we won, it was one of the best feelings I've had playing CoH since I started 4 years ago.

The one thing I kept thinking as I played them more and more was, these things are going to be very easy once we unlock the new Inarnate slots. 16 to 24 players all with Judgement will eat through all the reinforcements in that come in during these trials. The Lore pets will will be like there are double the number of players on the field. The Destiny and Interface powers will be like everybody having buffs and debuffs to pile on the enemies. It makes me wonder, what kind of challenges will the next trials have once a player has the 5 current incarnate slots filled up?

    Costumes!

I don't follow all the costume threads, and I've done a casual search and have not found this addressed in any thread, but could you please make gloves and boots to match the Angelic Plus, Excess Plus and Hearts Plus from the Wedding Pack? I think the Hearts and Angelic textures are great, some of my favorites, but it makes me sad there is no matching gloves or boots for them. That seems like such an unintentional design oversight for an otherwise wonderful pack.
  9. Thanks for the info and suggestions everybody.
  10. Is there a Praetorian equivalent to the radio/newspaper missions? To get the temp powers and badges?

    Vet rewards

This happened to me just last week, otherwise it had been clockwork for the past 27 months. When I looked on my PlayNC account it said I was due in December instead of November and sent a ticket. It was fixed within 24 hours.

    My first 50...

Congrats! It took me just under a year to get my first 50, not a tanker. But, when I finally started playing my Tanker (fire/stone), I cruised. I got him to 50 and I still enjoy playing him. Not so much with my other 50s. So go team tanker!
  13. The first time I was on the RTF I was using my Fire/Stone Tank. There was a WP/Something tank leading the team. We were both 50, I went down twice in about an hour and they went down at least twice as many times as I did. That group gave up after getting Jerksman down to 80% hit points and not being able to budge him at all for 20 minutes after that.

I've never had a problem feeling like a tank with my fire/stone. Even before I took tough and weave. Fault-Burn-Tremor (or reverse) for the win.
  14. I love my Fire/Stone. He can dish the hurt and keep mobs on the burn patch so it can do its damage. And he's pretty sturdy too. It's the only tank I managed to stick with past the teens and all the way to fifty.
  15. Subjective: I like the idea of day jobs and getting something extra depending on where I log out of the game. It's not something I count on and think the idea adds flavor to the game. I don't like how short the duration is if you haven't been logged out for long enough time.

I had one character able to use the Wentworth's Teleporter to cross Steel Canyon instead of travelling to a contact who I couldn't call yet. After that, it was gone. Another character got arcane salvage drops for one mission before it expired, and that was after almost 3 days off.

Objective: I the time on some powers should be changed to either charges on a temp power or X number of missions per day off with some sort of reasonable limit. If you're logged out for a day in the Midnighter Club you should get a missions worth of extra arcane salvage drops or whatever it is. If you're logged out at Wentworths you should get one charge on a Wentworth's Teleporter. If logged in Cimerora you get a +res toggle similar to the ring granted by the first Striga Isle contact. That way we the players can choose when to use a power that has a combat effect. Or, in the case of rewards, be able to know that we get at least one mission or more of extra prestige, salvage or whatever.
