  1. I'll always argue FOR fort...but I'm a ranged fort.

from what I have heard, actually...forts provide better damage melee than NW's...not sure HOW, but they do.

Overall also, fortunata is a cooler name. *insert sunglasses*

oh god and yes, Duo-forts are terrifying.

then again...VEATs are some of the best AT's in the game, and with the incarnate slots/powers, they're becomming even MORE well rounded.

I mean, what's something NW's and Forts lacked before....? well, good debuffs were one...but the interface slot clears that, and then my Fort because I'm more utility, gets an extra crashless nuke from judgement

welcome to our wonderful world >:3
  2. I'm still confused about the....way the new incarnate slot will be upgraded though, will we have to wait an entire month just to get one to T-4 like alpha? or will we be able to just constantly run the new TFs for the 'incarnate exp'

    *scratches chin*
  3. some new components use "Incarnate threads"

this was a clever joke I liked it.

    so....I20 gets released today? >:3
  4. I'll keep cardiac.

Besides, with reactive interface, I wouldn't need extra damage because I would be shooting enemy resists down.

Then again, I also opted for Mu mastery for extra AoE, and with judgement that will increase it even moreso.

I have no intention of derailing this thread, I just wasn't sure if I missed some big news.

I'll probably be grabbing Barrier, the -Res proc, don't know the difference on the Judgement stuff, and I'll be grabbing the IDF lore pet. Battle Orbs look cool.

Edit: Just saw the newer screens in the I20 Beta section... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Interesting. I like how the second Barrier does a x2 ally res. However, I think I'll probably be going with one of the heal pbaoes. Considering I'm pet heavy, even moreso with lore, I think I'll gain more of a benefit from the heal/regen for my pets. If the +hp applies to my pets, even better. For pets I'll either go with battle orbs or IDF (I thought they were the same). IDF is a pretty cool looking group aesthetically and I think they may fit my theme more than clocks. For Interface, I think Reactive is the definite winner.

well all of those slots are fully unlockable in the i20 beta...so I'm assuming they'll get released with it unless there's a major problem. But the mechanics seem pretty solid from what I'm seeing.

The first thought on my mind is that my Fortunata can probably use another "mini nuke" power in Judgement (only 90s recharge). It will be fun to have Psychic Wail and another nuke, although Judgment is a cone... mmmm...(I am assuming we can change the Slots)

I can't decide what I want yet but I don't think I'll take Interface. One of my MMs will definitely check out Interface.
    judgement isn't a cone.

Cryonic judgement is a cone, and is the weakest of them.

Pyronic is a Targetted AoE nuke.

    Void is PBAoE

    and Ion is a chain
  7. not really related to an AT.

but...alright, so I'm a fortunata...spent a lot of time on my build which is complete, aside from needing to replace a few sets with some purples for extra bonuses.

So I'm fighting...blah blah, I go off and kill the other mob real fast then return.

get yelled at by the tank for that.

Blaster dies, I use vengeance on him.....Team leader yells at me for using it without him telling me to.

kept getting yelled at thoughout the TF....

It eventually got to the point, where out of anger, I was like

"Look buddy...I know you're the leader, but the attitude is not neccesary, aside from your tank, I'm probably the most durable thing on this team, and probably one of your stronger players....I don't run off unless I know I can handle it.

on top of that, if you want to keep yelling at me for HELPING you guys, I can just as easily drop my toggles, kill myself, and then quit, making you fail the requirements of your master-of run. Do you want that? me neither...so how about we finish this TF and go on our merry ways."

dunno if I sounded too harsh...but I put that person on block and I will never have to be on a team with them again.
  8. Rintera

    Defence

I'm used to being incredibly durable because my defenses are all capped.

but I usually don't rush ahead unless the team is taking FOREVER and I know I can wipe out the entire mob ahead alone.

Once i20 hits and we have access to Judgement powers, I'm sure it'll be even more common for blasters and ranged dealers to do this, because of their ability to launch a crashless nuke/second nuke.
  9. I know it's not released, but....

I mean, I figured people here are able to browse the forums and see the new incarnate abilities coming out.

How do you think these new powers will effect your builds? or will they even change them at all?

Personally, I'm going to take the reactive interface power, regardless of whether it's going to be used a lot. and possibly Respec out of Mu and go back to soul once judgement comes out, because I wont have the gap in AoE power I did previously.

For the destiny I know a LOT of people are going for barrier, will this tone down our effectiveness as walking forcefields? or will a VEAT with barrier destiny be considered the ultimate in defensive team buffing?

Will the lore pets turn the balance of things?

    What are you planning?

    Discuss :3
  10. Actually dominate will hold a boss on it's second application

and with the judgement slots coming out you get another crashless nuke :'D so you can launch judgement, boom boom, and alternate between using that and wail.
  11. I see....

so really, don't look at the stats that the purples will give my powers because they might not actually be worth it?

but look moreso at the set bonuses and see if I really want them?

    works for me.
  12. Awh so when it shows the damage nearly double from apocalypse it isn't actually doubling the damage? >< nuuuuuuu.

I was hoping I'd pop an 800 damage subdue xD

unf >_> I guess it's still worth it to get the bonuses from purple sets though if I have the extra money...
  13. Yeah I actually warmed up to mask presence A LOT.

I took that, and vengeance instead of the mu pet. I like that the VEAT's vengeance is also a self-buff, too.

I have a question: If in mids the damage% shows red, does that mean it can't be increased anymore? Like if I put an apocalypse in subdue, or an armageddon in psi wail, will the damage output still be able to increase?
  14. It trains 0.536 more end....whoopdie do.

I like weave, and I like tough, no talking me out of that, since even though I'm ranged, I'm in melee range a lot supporting my team.

The entropics are temporary untill I get more money saved up, althoughs lotting decimation hardly makes a difference, and only raises the damage by about 2 points, hardly changes the recharge of them...

I'm actually saving up for an apoc in my subdue and decimations in my other ST ones.

the nucleolus is in static discharge to increase the range of it, I had an extra on my toon so I just put it in there since it wouldn't cost me anything.

I don't really feel the need to be "Epic"

I have my uses and I handle myself as a pretty good widow on my server, so I'm happy enough with that ^^ I'm just trying to improve small parts of it without changing my power choices at all.
  15. Maybe a few more modifications and then I'll post it.

The thing about hasten.....If I really dislike the animation of it, to the point where my original reasoning behind making a fortunata was because it's defensive powers didn't have any gaudy auras/effects....Then why would I take it?

No matter how much of an advantage hasten may gave me...if it makes me unhappy to see while I'm playing, is there really a point?

I mean, I know the obvious perks that it brings, I do...but I have found that I work quite efficiently without them, with a solid AoE and single target skill chain that recharges fast enough to be used in succession. I don't really care about the extra 20 seconds off psi wail's recharge.

I chose to be more Team friendly than...me friendly, I guess.
  16. the +recovery things are worth it in my opinion. ever since I added those I havent had a problem and I run like....11 toggles.

    but eh.....

    Idk, money is money.
  17. mmm a team of 8 VEATS is like heaven on a bun.....

For reals, couple of forts/NWs, couple of crabs, couple of banes/huntsies.

Inpenetrable defenses and loves AoE devastation <3
  18. oooo thankyou ^^ I mixed our two builds and managed to get softcapped to all positional, and over softcap on all defense types when mind link is up :3

one more purple set and I can get mind link to perma <3
  19. I like it without hasten.

I miss out on a powerpool I want for an ugly power that I really despise.

I work efficiently enough without having the hideous effects of hasten.

and I just don't like it, on any of my characters, I never have...it's not a power I like to take. Hence why I said I don't WANT to take hasten :P
  20. can't get earth mastery on a VEAT.

my build looks something like this now: (isn't exact...some of the slotting is slightly off because I've changed it around a little but all the stats are pretty much the same)

and yes.....I did not take hasten on purpose. I don't like it, don't care what anybody says about how good it is, I hate it with a passion and refuse to take it.

  21. Tweaking my build once again....

I'm having toruble picking between 3 powers.

currently, I have double maneuvers, double assault, and mask presence....

I grabbed mask presence because with mind link up, AoE, Ranged, Melee are all above softcap, but the others are still only at about 43% or so.

    with mask presence...they'e surpassed....but here's the thing.

I hate...HAAAATE being invisible....I don't like stealth powers, I realize they may be useful but the reason I play a fortunata is because unlike most defensive sets, they don't have big ugly auras and animations that cloud the way I look.

Now...without mask presence...I lose out on quite a bit of defense. (about 8%...yikes)

and I could pick up vengeance, which would push me up 25% to all defenses.....IF someone on my team died.

but it does buff the whole team which is useful.

I guess I'm looking for suggestions on what I should do... because I honestly am at a loss on what I should do.

Question about vengeance, too: If my pet dies, am I able to cast vengeance on him? or is it ONLY on teammates?
  22. Sounds like it has potential.

Magisterum may join in on the plot, could swipe up the case file from the PPD psi division, or could get it directly from the Lightning strike initiative.
  23. Hey guys I have to pull my widow out of the lineup, just got a call from work and they need me in at 6EST today so I wont have enough time :\
  24. yeah the fact that it makes it seem absolute that paragon is a dream would peeve me a bit too.

I RP my character as specifically living in Real life, and he wasn't originally from paragon city, either.
  25. You know, oddly enough...my character Magisterum was originally intended to work heavily with the PPD as a sort of....psychic tracking-dog. but of course...he isn't a dog.

He's a vampire now...but I haven't really whipped out his badge in quite some time.
