I... can only think of very few powers that do KB and no Damage, and it would arguably be more absurd on some of those. And a lot less, you know, fun.
A CHANCE to change KB to KD would have been a less silly idea, but oh well. -

I am sure someone will be able to explain how these should be considered a positive.
No, seriously. I don't see anything out of the normal here. -
A lot less damage. Keep in mind how long Bonfire needs to do it's full salvo of damage. Will it be changed, though? Hard to say. Bonfire APP has such a long base cooldown.
Would I be surprised if it was? Not entirely. -
Ice doesn't 'Super Scourge'. That's pretty much why Ice Storm and Fire Blast aren't directly comparable. Also, Rain of Fire's 'Super Scourge' isn't a bug, but simply how it's damage is handled.
Also, as someone who plays an Archery Corruptor... it's really not that great. I tribute it to my inner masochist. -

People continue to not understand what Pay2Win means.
Good riddance~! -

Works for me, in the end.
If you don't want to support Super Packs, that's fine. But don't hide it behind the Red Herring of "It's gambling so it's immoral!". Twisting Zwilinger's words to say he's saying "IT IS GAMBLING" is as ludicrous as my apparent 'flawed logic' in your eye. Although this is an Eye of the Beholder thing, in the end.
If you want something so badly, go buy it. You're going to get the full set sooner than you think, much like Elemental Order. And you'd be surprised at how often you use the other goodies in it. I don't think I've ever been as satisfied with a purchase as I have been than with the Super Packs. By a long, long shot.
No power set has brought me continued amusement and frequent use as those consumables. Or as much fun, honestly. Weird, I guess. But, that's my stance. I'd hate to see them ruined because the sub-minority of the minority (AKA: The minority of the minority-driven forums) are upset they have to break fake morals.
And yet, I can admit? If the costume pieces were not exclusive, I'd just shrug and walk away from the Super Packs. Thus why I'd be so upset if they were made available outside of them.
If that's the price paid for Super Packs, I'm all for it. And really, done with this thread before it becomes a big argument and/or zombie horse. You all didn't get your way last time, you're definitely not getting it this time.
Buy the packs, or don't? That's your option, and pretty sure, like last time, Paragon isn't freaking out because ten or so people are trying to start the SAME protest that failed seven months ago, now.
You can scream moral bankruptcy or any other exclusive that comes to mind, but at the end of the day I'm a (future) Cosmic Corsair and you're not. -
For everyone saying "this is a problem"... Paragon's open admittance to the wild success of Super Pack 1 and thusly making Super Pack 2 strongly, strongly just cements that while a few people are upset, the massive majority of the game (AKA: Not the minority of the forums, you're the super minority, remember?) enjoys them.
At this point, I safely can say..
And that while it is important to know people are upset, not matter how few they are?
Wrong way to go about it folks. Comparing them to certain companies and the like and threatening Paragon is a strong-arm. If you're so fickle to quit if you don't get your way, and they already know not everyone can be pleased...
... Yeah. Bad strategy. -
The opening post suggests Paragon is well aware of the potential social stigma that will come from releasing things out of set 'down the line'.
-
Quote:-Because some people, obviously a significant amount, still bought packs after getting the costume parts. For things like ATOs.
Next 'counter'?
Quote:Sorry, there's no "obviously". The only people who can make an educated estimate as to how (e.g.) selling the costume parts separately would affect pack sales are the ones who can see the data, and they're not talking. My take on that is that if the numbers supported the separate-sale model you'd be getting it; you're not so they don't.
End of discussion, honestly.
Gonna enjoy my Cosmic Corsair when it hits Live. -
Quote:My personal peef on the packs is the drop rate of the Black Wolf.
I have a vampire as main who would love to have the Wolf for Roleplay. Over the past year I have opened MANY packs. And still once in a while I open a few using reward points. I have the costume set complete for ages now. I have more merits then I can use.. and all converters I need. Even full sets of AT IO's...
Ok... it s handy that I can outfit all my alts... but the 1% chance of dropping a Black Wolf annoys me to no end! That is small even for a Magic: The Gathering Very Rare. It is simply way to small chance.
Your vampire should use the leprechaun and not draw so much attention to their dark and edgy side! -
Quote:Any proof of your claim? The burden of proof is on both of us. All I can go by is Paragon's open statement of the extreme success of the Super Packs, so much they designed a second round of them instead of dropping them dead. We were openly told they were successful during the... Pummit, I believe? Or one of the live streams.Any proof?
And just like other Tier 9 VIP stuff, there is only so much room in the window, and it has been said repeatedly that when they bring in new stuff for that level, old stuff goes away. This is because they don't want that line cluttered and they don't have a person that can be spared to do the interface work.
To that end, Burden Proof You etc etc. Or Paragon could be lying, nobody bought them, and they're giving it another go because masochism.
But, let me put it this way: There's no plans to release them outside of Packs at this time. I support this 100%. Buy the packs, or don't get the set. Use your stipend, or don't get the set. Either way, it's not 'gambling' and that's annoying to hear time and time again.
Quote:Potentially true (and perhaps even likely), but I wouldn't say it's a wholly logical conclusion. Indeed, I'd say getting upset over such a situation would be pretty illogical in the first place.
The ugly situation could be avoided entirely by not putting exclusive items in the Super Packs - in which case they become more like grab bags, which are a way to get non-exclusive items on the cheap in random assortment. (Oh, Crystal Caste, how I loved your assorted dice grab bags...) -
My stance is this: More people bought the super packs than not. If they're just going to release the exclusives in them Soon(TM), what is the point of purchasing the sets when those people who bought them most likely wanted the Costume Sets?
It's an ugly situation no matter what. But more people would, logically, be upset if something they went to support was later released to the masses anyway, and just 'rode on our coat tails'. -
I am going to continue buying Super Packs en-masse and supporting NOT releasing the exclusives in them in any alternative means.
PS: I don't have the Black Wolf and still support this. -
Quote:I never said they were all bad, either.Die Hard, 300, Gladiator, I Am Legend, The Book of Eli would disagree with you. I'm counting only the protagonist as the 'star' of the show. And while in the case of 300, there are more protagonists there, they are more akin to a mastermind's pets than anything else.
And it's much like anything else, there's good and there's bad. There's some movies that have multiple big name stars that turn out to be godawful, boring drecks of films.
I would prefer that people have the option to do these at least some of these things solo rather than forced teaming. What have we really got for solo things in events? Valentine Deliveries, skiing, Trick or Treating (though if you're a lowbie, you'll spend more time hospitaling that fighting due to the placement of bosses in the spawns), opening presents, and Baby New Year. That's about all I can think of and three of those have been around for multiple years. -
Quote:A movie does not have a single star~Sweet zombie jeebus guys. Can we PLEASE get an event that does NOT require teams? I'd like to be able to go through these at my own pace and reading everything without feeling like I'm holding the rest of the team back.
While four is a lot better than eight, it's worse than one.
( Okay SOME do but they're not always good. ) -
Awesome! Glad to see they're worth the price tag. Awesome of you to enjoy them, and awesome of you to spend money on the market!

... I can has as Sonic Attack alternate particle animations?
... And you should totally replace one of the crappy Sonic Resonance powers with the Siren Sonic Heal -
Quote:Dominators seldom do damage with their primary ;P That's what you're likely doing wrong.Well could you tell me what I'm doing wrong? lmao it just seems inferior to Gravity's ST chain. I even have mind proc'd out but still meh. I guess since I'm still a lowbie I can't see it (lvl 23) but I'm going to finally level one to see how I feel about it. Oh and I don't do PVP...EVER.
I also agree with Reppu Plant is very situational and it's St damage is poor. Plant is amazing but nothing beats the survival of Perma PA control wise NOTHING.
Illusion is such a weird one to compare with but it's damage is impressive and mixed with a lot of survivability...it can be confusing on how to really rate it. one can take out a -1/+8 mob with just one summon of PA and pals...actually I need to make Ill/cold or Ill/Poison already....*mumble* need more slots. -
I have to agree with Local here, really. At least, in some cases. You aren't giving Phantom Army's AoE enough credit, unreliable it may be. To also suggest that anything you listed above it (Aside from Fire and MAYBE Plant) beat it at Single Target, is just not feasible.
The power of five pets plus Spectral Wounds would shoot it above Dark, easily. Dark has 2 Terrible Pets for damage (aside from maybe some Proc Manipulation but YMMV), the Umbra Beast is alright but it's prone to being an Idiot. The ST Attacks in it are fairly average. But it does sport a good AoE Immo for damage.
How this beats Phantom Army's ceaseless attack chain + Phanty and Little Brother + Spectral Wounds = What?
Gravity Control has the arguably superior ST chain, but Singularity is NOT beating five pets. Singy is also prone to being retarded, but IS a good pet. I don't see Gravity winning in ST, and Gravity's AoE is limited to one of the lesser AoE Containment Immos, and obviously Fireball. If your value is AoE over ST, this is an Illogical Choice because Gravity arguably has less AoE, unless ALL the value is on Containment Fireball.
Plant is obviously amazing, and I do have a 50 Plant. But the Damage it inflicts to... itself always confused me. if that's what it is doing. This also means it can also 'skew' things up because, if it DOES damage itself, it procs on itself too. That all said, Plant has strong damage. I DO question it's ST damage, however. Strangler and Entangle are GARBAGE powers, really. You'd entirely relying on Audrey, who tends to blow up still but is a good pet, and Creepers with out bodies isn't that good.
I do not see Plants ST Damage. it IS an AoE leader, but it's ST? I don't think so.
Fire obviously has the best in Holds and Immos for damage, and it's AoE Mob is up there too. The Fire Imps are deadly, but squishy, and Hot Feet is great. It does deserve that place.
TL;DR-
I think Plant is badly overestimated. Amazing AoE but it's ST isn't there unless you have bodies. This makes it a bit more situational, and less reliable than Fire.
Dark seems high. This suggests a very heavy emphasis on procs. But, that was noted before.
Gravity seems fine, but I can't swallow it beating Illusion. Equal perhaps, but Illusion got WAY too much flack for not having a generic AoE Immo. But your opinions are obviously your own.
Mind Control is overpowered as sin on Dominators. ESPECIALLY in PVP. -

Quote:So Water has the good AoE and a nice heal. Maybe this will be impetus for them to lower the tier 9 recharge to 2 minutes.
Ice has lots of mitigation and will still be decent single target.
Sonic still improves team damage very well and has lots of mitigation.
Dual Pistols... We will have to see how good the animation changes are, but even I think this could be a problem (and I am a defender of Pistols generally). Maybe this will finally be the impetus to buff Swap Ammo's effects.
My musculature backed tier 4 Pyronic doesn't work nearly as well as this claim lays out. And I have never seen 1 judgement handle mass mobs in the game's harder content. Oh sure, fighting in the ITF at low difficulty, but fighting level 54 IDF or DE or BP? Not as much handling on its own.
Let me be a bit more precise, then.
"1 Judgment and your average in-set AoE" is usually all it takes for me to wipe out Level 54 Non-Bosses. Bosses take a little more love, obviously, but I'll have target-cap Minions and Lts. dead from my hit alone. -
Quote:It doesn't work that way. 22% removes it flat out. It does not build up to the removal, unless we missed something from the devcast.Actually, I think you are both missing the picture. In that set, you have acc/int. Int is interrupt reduction.... With interrupt reduction, you wont need as much tohit to make it auto, since tohit decreases interrupt time.
Which we didn't.
