You're giving VidiotMaps.com a run for their money as far as Best Fansite is concerned. You'll be getting my vote when the Heroes Choice Awards come around again.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know about that; My site was a long way behind vidiotmaps last year, and I expect the voting to work out pretty much the same again. As nice as it was to be nominated it was disappointing in the end when it turned out to be such a one horse race (not so much for the "favourite" site, more for the most helpful category).

I dont see any info about the electric mastery set for blasters here.

All you could possibly want to know about all Epic powersets -
Another pretty hefty update today:
Added The Cookbook -- Pretty much everything you could possibly need to know when it comes to the City of's Salvage and Crafting system.
Revamped the Powersets & Powers guide to make it faster & more usuable
Does anyone know of a site that already has good quality images of the various base items that I can borrow for the cookbook? Save me trying to find them all in coalition bases ... -

Tho the new changes are awesome, I miss the contacts page for CoH. Not that I can't find what I'm looking for, but the old page was a lot better when you don't know the lvl of the contact your looking for.

Aw, man, I miss that overview page too. I really liked the old tabular format. I especially appreciated the description info about how the contact matrix actually worked.

Keep up the great work!!

Ditto.

Old style contacts page restored. Tried something different, didn't particularly like it myself either, back to the drawing board on that one once I've finished the Salvage section I think. -

Taken into account. Keep 'em peeled. -
Some Updates:
- Completely revamped the entire site. Hopefully you'll find it a lot cleaner & easier to use now it has been split off to dedicated coh/cov sites.
- City of Data brought into the main site, replacing the existing Powers database
- Currently finishing off the level 45-50 villain content -- only half a bar 'til level 50 now!
- Begun work on what will hopefully be a comprehensive crafting/empowerment/salvage guide.
For anyone that was linking to the site the following info may be useful post-update:
Contacts
There is now a universal contacts database, all villain contacts id's are now +181 to whatever they were previously, hero contacts retain the same id.
Story Arcs/Missions
There is now a universal Story Arcs/Mission database, all villain story id's are now +282 to whatever they were previously.
Link to coh content through coh.nofuture.org.uk, and cov through cov.nofuture.org.uk -- the subdomian determines the game that the data is looked up for so you will get odd results if you link through the wrong domain. -

But tell you what, as long as we stick to the very comprehensive guides, like the ones you link to above... I'll link them in in the next update. (Which will probably happen biweekly now that my editing privileges have expired and I need to go through Lighthouse.)

That was my thinking pretty much. The only other one I thought about mentioning was the Temporary powers (& where to find them) guide, which I don't think I've seen anything similar elsewhere and who doesn't love temporary powers, right?
Great job on the revamp by the way, the guide to guides had become all but redundant not so long ago. -
Pretty sure I didn't see any of these in the Guide to Guides, add them in if you so please:
III. ARCHETYPES, POWERSETS, POWERS, AND BUILDS
- Red Tomax's Guide to Powers & Powersets (Hero, Villain & NPC powers) [i7]
VIII. MISSIONS (CONTACTS, DIFFICULTY, AND MISSIONS IN GENERAL)
- Red Tomax's Guide to CoH Story Arcs, Task Forces, Trials & more
- Dread Tomax's Guide to CoV Story Arcs, Strike Forces, Trials & more
- City of Heroes Contacts
- City of Villains Contacts -

Why thank you! I planned to, but forgot
Keep an eye out for a major overhaul of the site sometime in the coming months. The City of ... section has completely taken over my website over the past few years so I plan to split it off onto it's on site dedicated to the game -- I just need a good name for it! -
[ QUOTE ]
As for the Wiki style implementation, yup that'd be great. However I'm a realist and am not confident we could pull something along those lines off in the near term. So, getting the existing system dusted off and up to speed is our current target.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why not simply work with the existing community network and look at a collaboration with the paragonwiki guys to move the guides section out of these forums entirely?
There's a wealth of great City of ... information out there on fan sites, why not work on building links with those sites instead of trying to work around the problems of hosting game guides on a forum? -
For anyone wondering what's up wth the site, Register.com's DNS services are currently offline and there's nothing I can do about it, there's no problem with the site itself, you just won't be able to get to it (and thousands of other websites) until Register.com's outage is resolved.

Great summary, a few points for when you do an update, CoV contacts' level ranges are a bit odd from my testing and the feedback I've gotten from people who use my site:
- Mercy Island contacts' missions level range has been narrowed down to levels 1-8
- In Port Oakes, Billie Heck appears to be level 6-10, not 5-10.
- Cap au Diable: Krylov and Percey are set at 10-14, but Peter Themari will offer missions at level 15.
-- CoV Contacts -
Are you certain that Siren's Call PvP door missions stop being available at 30, in my notes I've scribbled down that I was able to get missions at lvl 32 hero-side in Issue 6, I haven't tested at higher levels yet, or since issue 7 for that matter.
Oh, great guide by the way. Very easy to read too.
Edit: You got my 500th post, lucky you -
Server Upgrade
As you prob know, the site's had some reliability problems over the Summer -- long story short -- the site is moving to a new, faster, more reliable, more professionaly run, more expensive home and it's happening already.
This coming weekend the existing site will be frozen and data migrated to the new machine. By the 19th of August the new site will replace the frozen site and hopefully everything will be working nicely from the off.
Please bear with me, hopefully everything will go smoothly (as if) and you won't notice any problems at all!
See you on the other side. -

Great info, any chance of forumlae for schedule C (interrupt, 40/20/10) and D (knockback, 60/30/15) enhancements as well?
[/ QUOTE ]
Red, the formulas you want should look like:
Schedule C:
y = x ; [0%,80%]
y = 8% + 0.9x ; (80%,100%]
y = 28% + 0.7x ; (100%,120%]
y = 94% + 0.15x ; (120%,INFINITY)
and Schedule D:
y = x ; [0%,120%]
y = 12% + 0.9x ; (120%,150%]
y = 42% + 0.7x ; (150%,180%]
y = 141% + 0.15x ; (180%,INFINITY)
------------------------------
Anyone can feel free to check, and a confirmation would be good, but that should be right.

Thanks, it's been a long day at work and frankly my capacity for thinking was used up over 5 hours ago. -

Well great, now I need a new hero planner.
Someone, get coding!
[/ QUOTE ]
Already on it, all the data in the planner comes straight from the power data database I've been workign on with Iakona.
Still very early on, but usable nonetheless ... -
Kalinda and Burke's mission are open from level 1-10, I tested taht this weekend by levelling to 7, 10, 11 outside of their missions and checkign if new missions were still available.
Likewise, Creed and Mongoose's missions are definitely available at level 4, so I am assuming they are level 1-10 also, but I haven't gone to the trouble of going through the initial contacts for 0 xp to see if they will offer missions at anything below 4. -
Nice guide. One thing I think you missed is how to make the most of the new SO tiers without having to burn a respec in selling your existing SOs, something I personally believe is a waste of a respec, but I know many people that are happy to use one so.
This is the enhancement strategy I have followed on every single one of my characters, even when Ive had friends to fund my SO's I've still kept to this policy.
level 22, Buy all the level 25 SO's you can afford, they will be good for 6 levels (22-28).
Between level 22 and 28 combine any SOs you pick up with what you already have slotted and if necessary buy new enhancements for new powers/slots as you go if that power is a critical power in your build.
level 28, At level 27 you can slot level 30 SO's, but your current ones are still good. If you wait til level 28 you will be able to benefit from combining your existing SO's with the level 30 ones you buy, giving you a full set of SOs that is good to go until level 33.
Between level 28 and 33 Follow same strategy outlined for levels 22-27
Level 33, same as at level 28, by delaying buying level 35 SOs you are majorly extending the return on investment in each SO you buy. At 33 combine all your existing SOs with level 35s and you will be well enhanced to take you through to level 38.
Level 38, Level 43, Level 48 Surely you have spotted the pattern here.
Basically upgrade all your enhancements the level after a new tier becomes available instead of as soon as they become available, this will allow you to combine the new enhancements with your existing ones to eek that little more out of your hard earned Infamy/Influence. In-between those upgrades use SO drops to boost your most important powers as and when you can. -
P.S. Did you notice that now when you hover over a story link the tooltip popup will tell you the mission accept text of the first mission for that story.
Sometimes I found I couldn't match a story to the mission in game, so I added that in over the weekend to help in those cirumstances ... Example
Edit: Yikes, it's nealy 2 am now. Must sleep, got to conserve my energy for the double XP weekend after-all

As you probably know nofuture.org.uk has had a troublesome few months with hardware failure, overheating problems and generally too much fracking downtime.
In light of all this nofuture is moving to a new home as soon as possible. In the meantime don't be surprised by the continued odd downtime here and there, with the heatwave here in the UK showing no signs of disappearing it'll probably get worse before it get's better. But rest assured, the site will be back. -

A new version of my hero planner is now available. A bit later than planned, but with more functionality than expected at this point.

I was playing around with the faction pages and created this Rogues' gallery. It reminded me how cool this game truely is seeing all those villains together, realising the depth and variety of the NPC's in-game.
