Quote:"No, if I had proof you would already be enjoying the fine accomodations at the Zig", the heroine replied angrily. "Hence why I am attempting to get proof rather than just dropping you on the spot." Left unsaid but very much evident in her tone was that if he continued to obstruct said acquisition of proof, he might just wind up getting dropped anyway purely out of frustration.
"I hope you've got some proof to back that up." -
Quote:"Then perhaps you should have considered that before changing them in an attempt to remove evidence", the heroine replied simply. "Probably not your truck to begin with anyway."
"You're gonna pay for that, right? Those tires aren't cheap, you know..."
She then turned her head to look at Pious as he went around to the back of the truck. He wouldn't find anything, she thought. This villain was just a bit too smug to actually still have the stolen device in his possession. Probably teleported it out of the truck on the way, or some other easily concealed method of getting rid of it. Not that that'd stop her finding it - several people she knew could possibly track where it'd gone, even hours after the fact. -
Quote:"That'd be those ones right there", she replied quite casually, flicking a pair of spines at the tires in question behind her back as she spoke. Contrary to expectation she wasn't blind and she wasn't stupid. she might not have been quick enough to catch exactly what had changed the tires (having only seen it out of the corner of her eye) but it was clear that something had indeed changed them. Even without the faint blur of movement it'd still be obvious enough that they had formerly had spines in them and now did not.
With both the heroes' attention now on the Khelari, his 'help' sprang into action. Barely noticeable to even the keenest of observers, a ripple in the air appeared over the tires the woman had driven her spikes into earlier. Just for a moment. The next, they were already gone - both the ripples as well as the spines. In fact, the tires were gone as well, but this was even harder to tell since the new ones looked virtually identical.
"So Miss," the reptilian turned to speak to the heroine again, apparently having chosen to completely ignore Pious' presence, "you were saying something about your spines in the tires? Mind pointing out exactly where...?"
And if he could cheat, so could she. -
*more applause* Excellent as always, Blue.
-
Quote:"******** and you know it", the heroine cut him off the moment she heard that smug tone. "That would be the one Rikti detonator I saw being loaded into this truck - and yes it is the same truck. I put those," she gestured to the visible back tire, in which were embedded several fragments of the spines she'd attempted to puncture said tire with, "In your tires on the scene, so unless there's some other truck driving around with bits of my spines in its tires..." She looked like she was going to continue, but the arrival of a certain other teleporting hero stopped her.
"Stolen Rikti technology?" Acid grinned smugly in return, "Why, I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking a-"
She very nearly facepalmed at what he said. So much for the peaceful option. No, because he's a villain he doesn't deserve to be spoken to with any kind of civilty. Nevermind that things could possibly have worked out without any beating up of either side, no. All villains must be provoked into a fight as fast as superhumanly possible...
Quote:"Because I don't take kindly to random yahoos comin' outta nowhere and insultin' me..." -
Quote:"Not in itself, no," the heroine replied. "Despite what many Hellions or Skulls might tell you. However. Loitering when you have stolen Rikti technology in the back of your truck probably is, no?"
"Is loitering a crime now...?" -
Quote:My thoughts almost exactly.
Very sorry to hear about the job situation. You have my best wishes on that situation being rectified as quickly as possible. I suggest you concentrate on finding a job first, on keeping your sanity second and on writing for the masses third. -
Quote:Understandably, a certain heroine got a little suspicious when said truck remained stationary even after every other vehicle had departed the ferry. Jumping down from her hiding place, she landed neatly beside the vehicle. "You in the truck!", she called. "Come out peacefully and you won't be harmed!"
The reason for this of course wouldn't be revealed for some time - or at least not until the ferry arrived on shore and people began to wonder why a certain truck didn't move after docking...
"Much", she muttered to herself, not loud enough for anyone inside the truck to hear. Of course, if she got no response she'd proceed to pull open the door herself. -
Personally I always wanted a variant on masterminds, where instead of you have support powers and the pets do damage, you have the damage and the pets have the support.
So, melee or ranged primary with pets secondary, with the inherent being either some form of damage buff for how many pets you have out, or bodyguard mode. Though bodyguard would probably need to be nerfed if you made it ranged primary, tankmages and all.
The pets would probably have to be new sets, and would have little to no offensive power. What they would have is buffs to use on you (and on teammates?) and debuffs to use on the enemy. Instead of the three attack powers in the powersets have some minor defensive abilities. -
Quote:Unknown (Or perhaps not) to Acid, a familiar figure leapt from a nearby rooftop to land on the opposite side of the ferry. Once again the spined heroine seemed content, for now at least, to allow the truck to continue on its way. She was actually wondering, as she took up a position inside the ferry where she was still mostly hidden but could see the truck well enough to not lose track of it, why the driver hadn't gotten curious as to why she hadn't tried to stop him yet. Usually people took offense at heroes tailing them back to their hideout.
With no one stopping it, the truck simply went on its merry way, pulling into the ferry just as planned. This really was too easy. Acid had expected somewhat more of a challenge. -
Sounds like a good idea to me.

Quote:(( For reference, most of us are pretty good with the character/author thing. It helps if we know some things our character perhaps doesn't, to avoid things like we got here where everyone's waiting for everyone else.
but I wanted to keep it secret until it's too late for the bad guys to react. ))
-
(( When someone says their character vanishes (not stealthy vanish, but rather not even there anymore vanish), I tend to take that at face value unless otherwise requested and proceed as if they weren't there until such time as they reappear. ))
-
Well we keep trying to get rid of him, but he just won't go.

If I don't talk in that accent, you lot can't either.
<-- lives just across the ditch from Austrailia. -
Welcome back, person I've never met but have heard only good things about
-
Ahh. I was thinking there was an actual shotgun involved somehow and coming up with some very stange mental images.
Anyway..... *shoves Shade into the pit again while he's distracted, then pulls a flamethrower from thin air and turns it on the crocodiles, laughing maniacally* -
Quote:This seem relatively easy, considering the technology coming with issue 16 to choose alternate animations for powers. I would imagine when they get around to expanding power customisation to the pools, we'll very likely see something like this for flight. All that would be required is to actually create the required animations - which may be more effort than it seems, I dunno. I'm sure BaBs or his underlings can do it though if they're given the time and resources needed.Ice/Earth/Cloud/Hoverboard fly. - A nice option. I could possibly see this as a toggle Fly power similar to the Powerslide power. I don't even care if we don't get the banking/looking option but for these options alone I'd definitely pay a pack to get. Well...maybe not these options alone. Add in some Fixed Wing back option as well and you've got me sold.
Although I'd like an option for fiery flight even if we can already do it with auras and toggles. Cause some ATs with fire powers don't get those toggles until late levels (blasters, controllers) or at all (corruptors, dominators) and I hate waiting until 30 for auras. -
The reason we can't have this, as I understand it, is because it has two cape rigs. One for the bit off the belt and another for the bits hanging off the shoulders. Since players are restricted to one cape rig or other animated costume piece (wings, mostly) for performance reasons (some people still play on minimum spec systems, you know), this isn't an item players can have.

Quote:Still want a laser/energy rifle set.It really is a pity that the sets are so...rigid. In a way, although its hella unlikely to happen outside of CoX 2, it would be nice if every set has as much diversity as the EAT sets. Close assault weapon, Standard rifle and Long range, for an AR example.
