Okay guys and gals.
Server went down, maybe reset, NO Hami there.. so we'll have to wait for him to respawn. Depending on how long it takes for him to respawn... depends on whether people still wanna do the raid.
Anyone needs me, I'll be checking here for a while. -
I'll be there as usual.
Those wanting to join my Holding Team, I'll be in Eden about 6:40ish. So send me a /tell, so I can invite. -
Well after me and Pam just seeing the new Hami Encounter for Villians, and seeing the look of Hamidon for i9, I think I'm gonna be busy for both CoH and CoV..
From initial view.. it looks like existing tactics we use for Hamidon might need throwing out the window and new ones thought up.. because he don't look like he's gonna "stand" there (not like he goes anywhere, anyway).. and let us kick his butt, so easy this time.
Roll on i9 on Test.. and bring ya note books! Hami-School is in session! -
[ QUOTE ]
Even the guard thread is quiet, although the issue 9 stuff on test has taken a lot of focus off current activities.
Speaking of which - I'm thinking when the new Hami goes live that we take a group of volounteers into the hive, spend a night working out how the big jelly's changed and what we can do about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Soon as the new Hami is out, I'll be going on both CoV and CoH to take a look and get notes. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also for clarification. Both PB's and WS's are Kheldians. Good Kheldians are Peacebringers and evil Khelds are Nicti (Logic and my sparse Latin knowledge tells me that Nictus in plural should be Nicti and not Nictuses but i might be wrong) and WS's are good Nicti, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
In short:
Peacebringers are natural Kheldians merged with humans. Peacebringers wield powers of pure light and have the innate ability. to fly. With their inherent Interspatial Link power, Kheldians gain in strength as they group with other Heroes.
Warshades are Kheldians who have been heavily experimented upon to become Nictus (they used experiments to increase their own power, in order to continue to enslave and destory their natural enemy (ironically Kheldians(PBs)) and lifespan amongst many other things). Many Nictus feed off the energies of others, but the Warshades have seen the error of their ways and now seek to redeem themselves. -
soon as I know from her.. I'll let everyone else know.
-
After to speaking with Sharrow, she has decided for all involved, rather than risk losing out with possible DCs crashes etc (as she is prone to it sometimes) -- and it would suck if people did so on last mission, she has decided to post-pone the TF until the system has been fixed.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Just checking this TF is still on due to the bug as I know a few TF have being cancelled.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll find out for you from Lady Sharrow, as it's her TF. -
[ QUOTE ]
good luck anyone doing this, we did it today with what i thought was a great team with hardly any afk's and took us from 9:40am till 5:00pm but was a issue where we had to get a gm out as had a bugged mission(Mission 16 kill all in base)
Great fun though but a bit much for one day lol
[/ QUOTE ]
I know the feelingI soloed this TF on my Controller (with 4 people there only for the glowies).. man.. it's long.
-
[ QUOTE ]
You got a more specfic time Raz as Mr M and I would be intrested but were running sister psyche from 12 so may not be possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
ooooo.. say about i dunno.. 6/7pm.. as it's a long one. -
Upon request by "Lady Sharrow" (Union)
Looking for another 5 people to do the 1st Shadow Shard TF
on above date. (Saturday March 3rd 2007, in the afternoon) -
[ QUOTE ]
It's not the best thing for fire, no def to stack on. Stone would use it as overkill (Though maybe OK pre-granite?) Tbh the best use is on ice and invuln when you have lots to stack it with. I'd say there'd probably be someting better you can take.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed on above.
Invul and Ice are DEF based and the Weave factor works well with it for it's extras:
Weave:
[Base] RES : Immobi
[Base] DEF : To all + Psi (5%)
[3DEF] DEF : To all + Psi (7.80%)
Considering Fire/Stone(Granite)/as well as Invuln is mainly RES based Tough alone is worth it, but DEF on a RES-based Tanker goes to be a little pointless-waste of power choice, so unless you feel you REALLY need it.. I'd ignore it, totally. -
[ QUOTE ]
I've solod a +5 boss on my peacebringer.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like everything else it's possible to Solo +5 bosses, dependant on the Attack Patterns they hit you with.
A PB, WS or even a Defender (examples), CAN solo a +5 boss, depending on what it is up against, as both PB, WS and Defender (examples) have issues with some things they get hit with.
But soloing a +5 boss with a PB is nothing to brag about, in or out of E.D. -
If push comes to shove..
Idea: Section off a small part of the P-G, who might have Stealth or Invis, or anything to keep them out of the sight of the GMs at the time, and have them scout out at intervals during the Holding Phase and after [e.g.: Watchers].
So, if there are such things as "grievers" we can identify them, or as such start to fully confirm the existence of the "GM Revenge" march. -
/em feels safe knowing the Perimeter Guard is there, guarding his butt while leading the holding Phase!
-
Or at the rate we're going, and like it was last week.. about an hour or so

admittedly I'm very practiced in pulls.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm really really tempted to comment that sentence... but its a game for >18 too, so I guess I mustn't
[/ QUOTE ]
hehe ... I was looking forward to your reply too.

[ QUOTE ]
-Peacebringers: Incandescent Strike.
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally I wouldn't bother with this, since it's way too flashy and has a pretty short duration.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very much agreed, there.
Generally there are only Controllers, Blasters and RADs of certain types during the phase, but it's nice to have em as backup if it all goes to hell.. but much agree on the notes given.
[ QUOTE ]
There's just no point slotting more than three of a single type of enhancement in any power at all. You get a very minimal return on it, and there are other useful enhancements that holds can take.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed, I had mine slotted 4 Hold, as I've been "testing/testing/testing" specific set-up to see which works better, but agreed on the:
ACC, ACC, RECH, HOLD, HOLD, HOLD
ACC, RECH, RECH, HOLD, HOLD, HOLD
or whatever people feel otherwise.
[ QUOTE ]
I also see no point in specifically slotting powers for a raid.
[/ QUOTE ]
True on this point, people don't HAVE to be specific slotted for the Hami-Phase.
[ QUOTE ]
I know I don't have a high enough troller, and may be talking through my backside, but...
If the singularities go, can't you target through the Hami tank?
[/ QUOTE ]
You "could" but they would require being close enough to the Tanker in some cases, and due to lag, you can lose sight of the Tanker, as well as the Tanker loses sight of Hami.. as well as Hami's AoE hitting you (possible) so it's not advised.
[ QUOTE ]
If Raz thinks we have enough rads, I'll gladly bring my grav troller to the next one (sonic bubble included).
[/ QUOTE ]
The more Grav the better imho as they do help a lot in many ways, in case of losing sight of Hami, the one Sing', DCs and the like. So feel free to bring one, if you wish. -
[ QUOTE ]
Raz,
Good points, a couple of comments:
- I don't think it's worth slotting a 4th Hold. IMO you'll get more from a 2nd Acc (yes, we do miss sometimes) or even better, a Rechg (even with all the AMs and some SBs going, it helps with stacking). I personally leave them at 2/2/2 which is my usual slotting.
- Power Boost gives a +186.3% buff for controllers at lvl 50 (your modifier is for blasters I think).
[/ QUOTE ]
Aye.. very true there on all counts.. I'm currently experimenting with the slotting with m combat logs, but with the RADs on us so far.. i've missed 4 times in about 50 hits average...
Any numbers i'll revise once I have more solid info.. but it gives people a base to work with, so we can make our "phase" better and better -
Following is a main list of things that are required of the Holding Phase itself.. please follow this, as it's crucial to the success of the phase.
Those that have been on the Raids of late know that the system we have works, and believe in the "requirements" we have to keep us being successful.
Details in ITALIC are my additions to the list.
======================
NO! Dark Servant, cos its Twilight Grasp will cause too much lag that and it drops a load of other trash, that we don't need, and cause too much lag/issues with the phase.
<ul type="square">
DARK SERVANT Powers:[*]Chill of Night[*]Twilight Grasp[*]Darkest Night[*]Petrifying Gaze[*]Tenebrous Tentacles
-Tankers: not worth it because of gauntlet.
ALL Tanker powers now at some point do Taunt-Gauntlet -- so for the safety of the phase, it's best they don't help, to ensure safety.
-Blasters: Tesla Cage, Freeze Ray, Bitter Freeze Ray, Shocking Grasp, Freezing Touch, Shocking Bolt, Char, Cryo Freeze Ray.
-Defenders: Petrifying Gaze, Choking Cloud, EM Pulse, Ice Arrow, Tesla Cage, Telekinesis and Dominate due to persistent demand.
-Scrappers: not worth the lag.
The Holds are nice.. but don't have the same "duration effect" Controllers do, but IF I ever got stuck I would ask for them to help.
-Warshades: Gravity Well.
-Peacebringers: Incandescent Strike.
-Controllers: Fossilize, Volcanic Gasses, Char, Cinders, Gravity Distortion, Gravity Distortion Field, Singularity(3 slots for Hold Duration, no matter the others), Block of Ice, Glacier, Blind, Flash, Dominate, Telekinesis(whatever slotting you have), Total Domination, Choking Cloud, EM Pulse, Ice Arrow.
In addition to this, the only buffs which should be used really are AM and Speed Boost for the +recharge so that holds can be stacked.
People need to understand that spamming immobs and heals, leaving auras/shields on, using pets (other than Singularity), or just using random powers (like Fulcrum and Transfusion) is totally useless and counter-productive since it increases the lag to the point where we can't see if Hami is held.
======================
Standard slotting of Holds, on my part is (example of a Major Hold):
Char: HOLD(100%) = ACC RECH HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD
Power Boost: RECH RECH RECH to increase Hold duration on demand
<ul type="square">[*]Base Recharge: 120.00 seconds[*]Recharge (3slot): 61.56 seconds[*]Recharge (3slot/Hasten): 45.29 seconds[*]Base Duration: 20 seconds[*]Buff: Secondary Power Effects (Mez, Buff, Debuff, Heals, Speeds)(119.20%)(Self)[*]Def Boost: +DEF(119.20%)(Self)
Hasten: RECH RECH RECH we all know what Hasten does
(70% recharge reduction on ALL powers)
<ul type="square">[*]Base Recharge: 450 seconds[*]Recharge (with Hasten itself): 230.85 seconds[*]Recharge (3slot/Hasten): 187.76 seconds[*]Recharge: +Recharge(70%)(Self)[*]END Drain: -End(-15%) at End of Power Cycle(Self)
You don't HAVE to have Power Boost.. but it can help sometimes.. but as said.. example on my part. -
Cossie Creation.
As highlighted in the Hami-Raid Guide..
[ QUOTE ]
Firstly anyone coming please make sure you have a Hami raid cossie, these help to reduce the lagg greatly. I believe the layout was tight chest and legs, smooth/bare full on gloves and boots and a tech helm, all one colour.
scrappers-yellow
blasters-red
defenders-blue (empaths-green)
controllers-Purple
tanks-Black
PBs White
WS-black/purple
If you have a hold please add a purple stripe to your costume.
Some of these may be wrong, I need to find the guide for em. This is the best costume for creating as little lag as possible. If you really cant afford to change a cossie please wear one with as little detail as possible, No auras or capes, these cause massive lag during raids
[/ QUOTE ]
In BOLD is the main requirement for the cossie we will be using.
If you have Vanguard, it's a optional idea to put a " V " sign on your cossie to let people know you have it -- but it's not mandatory.
Same as the Defender idea, if you're an Empathy Controller, you can put a Green Stripe of some sort to point out you are Empathy.. but again.. it's not mandatory. -
I've started this thread similar to the "Union Perimeter Guard!" one, as a meeting/ideas/etc focal point for my Holders on the Hami-Raids.
General Hami-Raid Overview as done by Lost Samurai is: HERE.
I'm overall pleased with the initiative and reaction, of all my Holder Teams, as well as Tera Storms as well
[Goooooooo... TERA FORCE!]
I won't bore into details but I'll give a general overview of slotting/ideas.. what can/can't be used.. etcetc. If anyone has suggestions or ideas we can discuss them here, or send me a tell ingame to @Raziel , and I'll deal with it there as well. -
Brimmy... ;'( NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES
You'll be sorely missed... take care bud. and don't be a stranger on MSN! -
[ QUOTE ]
We might need a raidwide exit tactic if this is the case, all perimiter teams did an amazing job holding them as long as they did, luckily due to the amount of GM's a lot of people sensibly TP'd while this was going on!
[/ QUOTE ]
I have faith in our P-Guard to keep us safe, no matter what happens.. -
[ QUOTE ]
for some reason after the bud drop, there was a mass surge of GM activity, without anyone aggroing them!
looking into it, hence having to call for a fall back to eden for everyone not fighting!
