  1. You mean like them being entirely in text format so you can easily open them and edit them with any text editor?

    Nope, can't help you there.
  2. Just a thought though, I know not every map is going to be a huge ticket garner. But if you make them fail, won't you deny them the tickets for completing the mission?

Won't that bother people? Why not just use one of the non-genuine fail ideas?
  3. The Albatross is a reference to The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and a scene in the movie adaptation of the short-lived television show Firefly. My idea was that the person at the epicenter of everything, was the cause of something good and represented a force for good, but when humanity betrayed it, it changed into the symbol of something that could easily return the favor and hurt them all deeply.

But, so far the meaning behind the title has been missed and I can't really blame people for it, since I never really point it out.
  4. In canon, The Skulls work for the Family, which means that the Family can be considered to put money before identity, or image, so couldn't you explain their involvement as them being hired by your actual group? Which, considering canon again, would make your group actually quite powerful.

It is not unthinkable that the Family would loan out foot soldiers.
  5. People just shouldn't use settings higher then standard or hard in non-challenge or taskforces.
  6. Umm, just a thought but you can control what it says after you defeat a boss.

    "You have defeated Captain Ketchup"
"Ronald Reagan teleported away at the last minute, leaving him free to "Reagan Smash!" the city again."

I just recently played through the Temblor storyline with an alt. Nocturne, Sands and Captain Skyraider McGee don't really teleport away at any point. They just fall down like all the other bosses do, and it says they teleported away.

Defeat doesn't always mean "removed the feet" it can also mean that by beating them up and causing them to leave, you stopped the plan. You don't need to explain that to the player, most will get it and accept it.
  7. I'm just gonna go play my awesome arc with the prisoners group...DOH!

I'm gonna go level off the end of mission XP bonus! DOH!

I'm gonna go relive some of my fun times in Striga Island by fighting some Council vampires with those neat little spawning beds...DOH!

Well, at least I can enjoy the arc I made where you have to destroy snake eggs...DOH! DOH!

The Developers are against exploitative farming, so long as people are exploitative farming, the things they are exploiting are going to be taken away from us, not fixed, not made acceptable, taken away from us, and it continues for long enough, they will take XP in MA away from us and MA will be useless. DOH!
  8. You can check the storyarc file, any hidden bracket or some such will be shown there from according to what I've heard about this bug.
  9. Okay, so anti-farmers characterize farmers as ruining the game, farmers characterize anti-farmers as trying to control others or control how other people play the game, apathetic people characterize anti-farmers as trying to police or control the farmers and tell them not to do that by treating them as stupid, lazy or self-absorbed.

So, anti-farmers want farmers to stop farming, farmers want anti-farmers to stop complaining about farming and apathetic people want anti-farmers to stop complaining about farming.

So, come on, happy apathetic people, do a little dance, get your boogie on! You've thrown your hat in with the people that threaten everything good about MA.
  10. Not FACT. I'm leveling an alt, I don't spend any time at all in AP and I get bombarded at all times.
  11. There's a tip on the game screen that points out that all the .storyarc files are, are text files. Why would it point that out if we weren't allowed to modify them?
  12. It's the archetype, he needs the rage from the previous fight to carry over to the next, I assume. I haven't played a brute.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Here's the real solution to farming, in three easy steps:

    Ignore it.
    Play your own game.
    Get on with your life.

    'Nuff Said.

You know who else that worked for?

The Native Americans. They just ignored the problem of the White Man, and now they've got no problems, they've still got their own country, haven't been [censored] or pillaged, none of that.

Clearly, I'm kidding with the dramatic tone and real world example, but this is actually a problem, it hurts the economy, it hurts the player base and it hurts the game when it gets so consumed by farmers as it has.
  14. They aren't innocuous, they just have innocent usages. I've yet to see a word banned without good reason.
  15. "Gengis Khan is stabbing Abraham Lincoln while Dick Tracy stares at Geordi with an erotic look in his eye again!"

"It must be after May sweeps again!"

    Dead allies...

I don't think there is a way to have genuine corpses laying about, but you can always just make optional glowies with body bags and set the story forward about an hour chronologically, if you created a bunch of different glowies instead of just increasing the quantity, you could describe the dead heroes.
  17. People recruit for AE farms everywhere in CoX, it doesn't matter if there is a MA building in the area or not, and the MA building belongs in Atlas Park, serves a good purpose and makes sense canon-wise.

Plus, best as I can recall, this would make it so like everyone within the first 15 levels would have no choice but to go to the MA building in Galaxy City...crowding Galaxy City and creating large amounts of lag, more then there is in Atlas now...

    Auto-SK

It's automatic, it does it automatically.
  19. I really don't understand why this is an issue for anyone, even the most strict RPer.

Life doesn't have a UI or a HUD, your hero wouldn't see that they were labeled as a AV, it's just a slagging rank.

I apologize if this comes off as rude, but we've had like six threads about this on the various forums, and I honestly don't understand how it is a problem. You don't see people complaining about how it's impractical to believe Fusionette attained the title of Lt in the military, or any other rank. If you care so much about your characters that you can't see them ranked as supervillain, then you should just work on a different story because nobody wants to play second fiddle to a Mary Sue.

EDIT - Ignore me, I'm grouchy.
  20. That's true, Herring. You've got to think after the past thirty years of aliens, monsters and goldfish that if something weird popped up, people would just walk calmly inside their homes.
  21. I think if you created a large number of escorts on an outdoor map, then set their group guards to single and told them to wander around once freed, you could create crowds that activated once the player entered the area, but they would probably walk at a fairly regular speed, and not be scared.

I don't think there is a genuine way to do it...yet.
  22. Judging by the rave reviews in'all, I'll have to try this as soon as I can, which will be later tonight, so don't get into trouble for being a farmer before then.
  23. I personally don't have a problem with any of it, but I do find it a bit odd my character can't say "I guess I'll have to nip this in the bud." But, I can say "I guess I'll have to breast this in the bud."

Honestly, it all serves a purpose and they've done an amicable job handling it.
  24. I've seen a great number of complaints about the lack of Villain arcs, in general, and the large number of ones where either the player has to be incredibly stupid, or just happens to be a hero with a different powerset. I set out to create an easy, soloable arc suitable for all levels of villains, where the player is genuinely evil, and intelligent despite having to serve the whims of another.

Name - Other Lies My Parents Told Me
    Arc ID - 109251
    Length - Long
Description - Katie Iverson is 12, Katie Iverson had a dream that featured you. Katie Iverson wishes she were dead.

It features four bosses, each one set exclusively as Lts, since I wanted it to be easy to solo.

I've ran the majority of dialogue and text through a spell checker, so those should be rare if they exist at all.

I've love to get some feedback as to what needs to be fixed, what may be too disturbing or distracting, if I'm wrong about how the player is treated, so on and forth, and suggestions about making it more evil would also be appreciated.
