Quote:In this order: Ghost Widow, Wretch, Lord Recluse.Post witch NPC characters(ANYONE) you want it to die in the last CHAPTER of Who will die and why?
I want to see Recluse move in to deal with Wade, and send his people in to attack. Wade, with both his magic toys and Statesman's power, kills Ghost Widow right off the bat.
The others see the "unkillable" Ghost Widow fall, and they run away. Mako, Black Scorpion, Silver Mantis, all of them. Wretch, however, goes berserk and charges in, his fury taking Wade by surprise for a moment.
This gives Recluse enough time to give up on yelling at his minions to get back in there and fight. He turns to see Wretch fall, and realizes that there's no way he alone can take down Wade. So, instead he sacrifices himself to weaken Wade, giving you the opening you need to beat him. -

Now, as far as Magic vs Science goes, I would like to point out something mentioned in one of the Valdamar books. Magic follows laws. If it did not, then it would be impossible to cast spells and get the outcome you expect. It has rules, laws, and patterns, just like science. So, where do you really draw the line? -
Quote:Now THAT idea I like. Tokens that can be used for server transfers, renames, side switches, and respecs. Basically, all the $10 things.I wonder if there would be a way to offer a choice, though; replace free server transfers with a more-inclusive "account service" token that could be used for a variety of features that don't really "add" anything to the account or the characters so much as they move existing things around -- server transfers or alignment changes (and maybe character renames could be rolled into it as well).
The only server transfer tokens I've used so far have been to get free renames by bouncing characters to servers where their old names are already taken, changing their name, then bringing them back. -
Quote:Psyche: You have to do it!It is longer and a bit more satisfying....but I honestly can't find a point of reconciliation in Manticore killing Psyche.
Manticore: I can't!
Psyche: Kill me!
Manticore: NO!
Psyche: . . .
Manticore: There has to be another way!
Psyche: I'm cheating on you.
Manticore: . . what?!
Psyche: With Dillo.
Manticore: . . .
Psyche: Hoorb!
*Manticore shoots her.*
Jokes aside, here's how it should have gone. The ritual goes out of control, and when Psyche tells Manticore to kill her, he just looks the altar over for a minute, then goes up and scratches out a symbol. Ritual defuses and ends. This is the benefit of 1) Two way communicators, including one built into his headgear, 2) getting there early so you can describe the ritual altar to people over said communicator, and 3) Being able to have people like Grym and Azura on the other end of the channel to tell you what to do when things go wrong. -
Quote:I would put the same limits on that that you usually see on Charm spells. You can't make someone jump off of a cliff to their death, but you can convince them that when they jump off of the cliff, you'll cast Feather Fall on them and they'll be perfectly safe. If they're good, you can't get them to betray and attack their friends, but you can convince them to fight their friends and hold them off while you "break the spell that's controlling them". Basically, no outright killing themselves or violations of alignment/personality.Interpretation question: what has been established in games you have played as the maximum that can be accomplished with a high Diplomacy check?
"He-Prince Charming-Man" has a Diplomacy of +20. Yes, at second level. So far, all he has done with it is sell off some armor he got for free at nearly market price. -
Quote:The Midnighters must keep lousy records if they didn't know that was missing or just a bunch of jerks if they knew that and didn't send someone along who could deal with things of theirs that Wade stole and might be useful in booby trapping a ritual.Quote:They do make it clear from the very beginning of the arc that time is running out, ("Hey, Jen Sunlight, glad to see you're here. We've got a major situation that we need your help in handling. Sister Psyche's condition is getting worse by the minute...."), so I assumed that whole arc took place in a very short span of game time and the Midnighters weren't able to get there until after it was all over.

Quote:I'm not the only one that noticed that part and what it says, am I?Hello Knights and welcome back to the Community.
I certainly understand your feedback. It's something I've passed along to the development and business teams prior to this. If anything, know your feedback is being heard.
That being said, as has been mentioned, the licenses are a mere 180 Paragon Points/Month. Also, I'm not sure when you left the game, but did you know that you can use an alternate build to play with as well? Visit any trainer and you can switch your active build to another one. Many of our returning players keep a SO/HO based build in that slot, in case they decide to revert to premium status from VIP.
Rest assured, all content available for Free/Premium players is balanced around Single Origin enhancements being used. Thanks to the adjusted difficulty option, our VIP/Premium players who have access to IO's can enjoy the same content at a higher difficulty, if they so choose.
Again, welcome back, and I will be sure to convey your sentiment along. -
Yes.
We need to know just what we're facing here with the base editor, but we also need to let them know that we're interested in seeing some improvements in the bases (and SGs/VGs in general).
I know I'm not the only one that wants bases to be made Co-Op, and to be able to support teleporters for anywere the group has managed to get a beacon for. I know at least a few people that would like to have Coalitions be Co-Op as well, because not all groups are Black/White morality. -
Quote:While oddly worded, Rodion's actually telling you the truth. Our eyes are close enough together that it's not long before the distance between them isn't enough to create a 3-D effect. Our brains rely on other things to help construct our "map" of things in a 3 dimensional setting. How exciting. Ooh, tell me about how we don't actually smell objects, but only sense the aromatic molecules released by the object, which may be very different from the molecules that actually make up most of it.
When I watched Avatar, I felt like my eyes had been shifted a yard apart. Things were in 3-D well past the point where they should have been, which made the movie very painful to watch by the end. -
I'm not sure how many people here play Pathfinder, but I do. I don't see what it would hurt to toss some questions out and see if anyone replies.
-
It would also allow you to have your personal base AND be in various SGs/VGs. The best of both worlds.

Quote:Storage improvements, though our current ones are just a tinsy, tiny little bit MASSIVELY overpriced, I think. It also makes me wonder just what sort of content the market ought to be carrying. If the best selling content consists of items that enhance the overall account, then what sorts of items are there that can do that, aside from the obvious selections of costume bundles and powersets?
Global unlocks, such as extra content (First Ward/SSA) or bypassing the need to unlock content the normal way (Midnighters' Club access).
Also, perhaps, some kind of account base, much like a SG base for the account instead of an SG. Even if they limited it to the smallest base size, people would want it. -
I guess that if a GM shows up and starts to bug you, you could always /petition them.
On a more serious note, I wonder if this means a GM would be willing to show up and listen to other witnesses that saw someone misbehaving. A person can spam powers and direct pets through people trying to RP without ever showing up in a chat log, but being able to get witnesses to back up your story to the GM would be nice. -
First of all, apologies for my various brain-farts in my posts about the Super Packs today. This has not been a good day for me.
Now that that's out of the way, I feel I have to admit that I've been thinking this through and decided to give the Super Packs a limited try. Yes, I know what to expect from Beta, but I also know I'll actually USE most of what I get in these packs (the unslotters will be a rare thing), so it's not money wasted for me. Yes, it frustrates me that the costume isn't a sure thing, and the pet may as well not exist for me, but the odds of getting the costume at decent speed really are good.
I caved in, and got the "box" of 24 packs for my second account. With pack 20, I got the last of the costume set. Money wise, I have to say that I got plenty for what I paid, but it worries me that I could have been unlucky and missed part of the costume set.
Basically, I think having ANYTHING exclusive to the Super Packs is a very bad path for Paragon to go down. I can't say I won't spend money on the packs, because I have and got what I should reasonably expect. I think it's important, though, that they announce that they WILL be making the costume parts and pet accessable for direct purchase at some point in the (not too distant) future. That will help those that luck does not smile upon, give them money from the ones that want the pet but can't afford to keep playing for it, and disarm a lot of the problems that are leading to bad feelings about all of this.
I don't like reversing my stance on such things as "I won't buy them", but as I've been so outspoken in opposing them, I felt it only fair to admit to rethinking my views. Laugh at me if you want, but I'd rather look like an honest fool than be a dishonest idiot.
. . . One final thing, though. Paragon people, PLEASE work on getting some sort of Paragon Points cards out there on the market. You want us to spend more money? Then let me go down to the mall and buy a $5 or $15 dollar points card so I can give the code/points to a friend in the game. Who knows, maybe they'll use the points to buy some Super Packs. -
Quote:Just looked it up, and the correct term is Reward Tokens, not Merits. My bad.Wrong merits.
On Beta, you could trade in one of the Paragon Reward Merits (those things you use to go from Tier 1 to Tier 9) to get 5 packs.
A LOT of people were planning on only using those to get the Super Packs.
But the question remains. -
Quote:Wrong merits. The packs give reward merits out like candy. Its really unlikely to be able to be brought by merits at any reasonable cost.

[Edit] Reading more now, I've not been at the computer as constantly as it may look. -
Still no word on the noteworthy lack of the ability to get these with Reward Merits? Really?
Between this and the converters, it looks like this stuff wasn't ready to go live at all. -
Quote:No, actually, it's not.I've bought 3 and got most of the elemental set outside the boots and backpack. I'll likely wait for them to hit the market separately to get those. It's just a matter of time.
That's what some of us thought about the stuff locked away behind Incarnate merits, especially the non-incarnate related stuff like the "Catchbreath" emote. It's still locked away.
There's NO reason to think you'll ever get those parts by anything other than throwing money at it and being lucky. -
Restore is the ally rez, Revive is the self rez.

Quote:Or we DID buy trading cards, and learned to hate them. I gave away all my old Magic cards recently (save one, saved for the artwork on it). But with most of the rewards in the SBs, you can't even do that.I'm guessing the people who don't like these things also don't like, or never collected trading cards, because that's the closest, most obvious analog I can think of to these superpacks.
I've been opposed to these from day one, but some friends have got me rethinking my stance on them. So, for the moment, I'm undecided.
Question: When will we be able to buy them with our Paragon Reward Tokens? We were supposed to be able to get 5 per token, but I see no way to do that. -
I'd love an aura that used hermetic circles. (See: Summoning effects for Demon Summoning MMs, or Full Metal Alchemist.)
Having them flicker in and out around the body in a fashion similar to the Victorian aura would be great. Having them appear around the hands (like the "halo" effect you can get by recoloring Energy Melee) or a large one on the floor at the character's feet would make for a great combat mode aura.
Repeat most of the above for a circuitry design, too. -
Quote:One person not buying? No, that won't stop them.Oh well. Either pay or don't pay.
Curses on all the future packs holding hostage more awesome costume sets. I'm tempted to boycott them now, but I know it won't stop them from releasing more sets this way, so *sigh*.
LOTS of people not buying? Yes, that will stop them.
I think my favorite saying applies here: "No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood." So, buy them if you want. I won't.
