Also there are fewer people red side, and there have been historically fewer people showing up. With the same level of "advertising" as a blue raid, on short notice, you aren't going to get much of a turn out.
You do have to put out some work if you want a red raid to start anywherenear on time in the best of times, imo.

Hami's bar seemed to crawl at times and he actually was able to regen a few times, not sure what happened there...
He has a large regen tic, there wasn't much debuff outside the pets that I saw before getting locked out.
Grats on your first time pulling off no retreat.
  3. Turning off DR, esp with HD, isn't a good idea.
It shuts off diminishing without shutting off the granted buffs.
So it winds up mostly capping every squishies damage resistance.
As icky as DR is, its sadly better to leave it on.
  4. There isnt any huge difference between 3 round and 2 round, just really encourage people to get and use the temps and make sure the tanks are set up in time. Just go for it if that is what you want to do.
  5. Can't really stress how important tank team is for no retreat. Would make sure and get it squared away. Even a lot of the tank team regs of late will need some practice and guidance.
  6. Looks like the nuke may accept dmg buff, so it may do more than 55, but you get the idea.
  7. Plumbobber, supposedly chain is fixed, or rather restored to the way it was so it isn't as big of an issue.

War, if it is going the way it should, there wont be time for a second wave of nuking; the debuff/buffs will last through the entire thing and far longer, by several fold the time it takes to kill him. This has been the case even when going bloom 0 to dead.

Once the pets and debuffs go down, It gets very chaotic. There was basically a bloom every minute until he was dead, it is a lot better for people to be focusing on staying alive, rezing the dead, pumping out damage and their normal debuffs at that point.

The nuke buffs/debuffs will last through two blooms.

As for the damage numbers on RoF, I'll have to dig it up again, pretty sure the post fell off the face of the earth a while back. But you are looking at about 40 or 60 from rof cast twice (1.1s cast) (+dmg and +containment) in the same time it takes to cast the nuke (2.0something cast), which will do about 55 total. They will both do proportionally more, with -dr o'course.

Which leads me to.... I was wondering if anyone has the numbers or ideas about the amount of debuffing we'd need to bring down Hami with two spawns of greens supporting him. From what I've seen at the 3 rounders, current debuffs(from raiders) + Pets/Temp pets (a mix, and difficult to pin down #'s and %'s) + approx 5-10 Nukes (I'm thinking around 6 or 7), pretty much puts Hami away almost before the Tanks get back into position ( I got one taunt off, just as the mito spawned, last time).

As I see it, it looks like the Chem and Bio nukes are the most beneficial, with the Nuke nuke, providing a nice additional damage push.

Anyways, I'd appreciate any insights/numbers/advice/thoughts you have.

From the times we rushed him on bloom one and defeated him with temps with all the blooms up, tenish nukes minimally, chem and bio, and 15-20 hvas/shivans. So, you need slightly less than half of that. Really nothing more than what is needed to knock one bloom off. You only have to hold the aggro off the pets so they dont get distracted. Distraction is the only reason slightly more might be required that for a 3 round.
More is *much* *much* better. You have to encourage people to get the stuff.

The nuke-nuke is worthless. The last time we did one of these, I posted a bunch of calculations showing the dps, dpa and everything else on ring of fire on auto from a controller without any damage slotting was better over time with the amount of buffs that should be floating around.

The order in which stuff happens is very important. It is very possible for Hamidon to lose HP too quickly. If you go pets, then nuke, you *have* to have buffs laid down and everyone on an EoE already before summoning anything, assuming you have enough. If you don't, everyone *will* get wiped out before being able to buff unless the tanks react to the new bloom at some sort of never-before-seen efficency. This is less of a factor when you just have one bloom around, but when we had 3 or 4 it was a fairly major concern.
  9. If they are full villain, you should be able to promote them, no matter what AT they are.
  10. re excuses: The classic is not enough people. Several raids have finished with no more than 20 in under an hour and a half. You may have to ask people to switch chars or something to get more holds, but I'm pretty sure they will be willing to help out.

    re. enri:
On red raids, I don't think you have to have blue raid "cred" to run them. Just be patient, advertise it, and make it known you know what you are doing by explaining what you want done and why -before- the raid, several days. Start looking for help early. People have fun doing this, ask those that have done it before for help in whatever way you need. The people who really lead -will- be more than happy to help you, no matter what may be said about them wanting a little fifedom or something.

And finally, macros are by far the *LEAST* important part of a raid. Be able to write out what you want to do in your own words. Understand why you are going to do the things you do.
Understand what to do when things go wrong. Be able to communicate how to fix it.
Understand what is important, and what is not.
"Yellows are down" repeated everytime doesnt hurt, but its not real important.
Yellow is stalled out and dying on mito 5 because the green team is light and not able to draw heals, we may wipe, I need person x to pop the blue infront of yellow 5 to get us moving again is important.

I could write a script to pop out stuff on request on a timer based on the average time a smooth raid takes to do stuff. That doesnt make it a leader. That is the level of leading and effort some people want to put in and it just isnt fair to anyone.

    I See a Tali!!!!

    Did she overload your shields?
  12. With the store down, I was unable to roll any new characters on my server of choice, effectively nullifying the head start portion of of preordering GR for me.

    Thanks.

  15. Simply replied to your 10 messages, and I'd be happy to repeat what I said there.

I don't really want to have anything to do with you because you make nice to my face while in the same minute telling others how much I suck, a pattern you've repeated with me several times over the last year or however long.
  16. If you read what I wrote, I don't do it any more.
  17. Hm, I never was able to get a copy of my MA to test, in two seconds (post EC) you can get storm kick off and start on CAK, when does the crit get evaluated?
i.e. Can you potentially get boosted crit on both SK and CAK? I'm assuming that is not the case, but havent seen anyone specifically say so.

Ok.. this won't get me any points but when did that ever bother me?

You don't need a plethora of nukes for this strat. Y'all already have the agro split required down perfectly. Just doo it . You have the people showing up and willing. Justice players are the best over all the servers. You can do it. Just take a minute to think so the organization suits you.

Before people bash me for this post please recall how many times I asked to do it this way last year.. take a minute to think.....refrain.

Yea... Im back and all that til Cata.
I did a dozen or so no-retreat, no temps a year or so ago (before you 'asked' for them) before I'd had enough drama and quit. Others did another half dozen or ten or so after that. So yes, we can do it. Its a matter of setup with people who can do what you ask and leading on the fly, and not as easy as all that, so I'd suggest less talk and more action if you are asking for them in that way. Less talk and more 'Ill do this for you' to take some of the load off the people putting it together.

I think what it's going to come down to is seeing what Yellow Aggro looks like tonight. If we have mostly veteran Tankers, I'll probably have Warboss get them into position. If we have new Tankers, I probably won't.
Hm, maybe I misread something, but I thought instead of running from the 25% bloom, everyone was going to pop EoE and fight through it, in theory surviving the bloom by a combo of EoE and killing Hamidon fast.

My suggestion was since it shouldn't actually matter what the yellows are up to due to the eoe and buffs, have the tanks practice picking up aggro on the reblooming mitos. I think it would be a great opportunity for them to get some experience without the outcome being affected by whether they succeed or not (assuming I understood what 3 round hami meant).

There is a fair amount of stuff involved in picking the aggro up, from going back to the proper spot at the proper time, popping an eoe at the right time, taunting at the right time, and moving if the mito pops up off center/in a different spot.

Once they pick up the aggro, they could even come back into the fight, though they might want to be careful where they stand while they still have aggro.

Yeah, if it's Blues then, I wouldn't recommend a Blue team either, just for those reasons - we want most of our best DPSers on Hami for sure. I'm thinking more a couple of people specifically appointed by the raid leaders to go poke Blues.
That is what I was suggesting.

    Quote:
I will set aside 2 o 3 people to do this. I'm also not sure yet what I'm going to have the Tanks do, but I'll probably keep them on Hami for the extra damage.
I mentioned this before, but if you want this to be a warmup for no retreat, I would have them get the practice of getting back to a mito before the bloom and the practice calling it. That is one of the, if not the, most important part, and pretty much everyone needs practice with the orientation and timing if nothing else.
  23. Its a good idea, blues are closer to the greens than yellows though, and would be more likely to pull heals away if the greens do single target heal hamidon. Algorithm they use is supposed to be closest thing that is damaged.

1-2 (maybe 3) people is what I always saw as ideal for the blue team. Unfortunately people kept siphoning off a full 8 blasters or similar, which murdered the damage output green had and made the blue team pointless as support. At a few recent raids when the yellow team has stalled out for whatever reason, quickly throwing 1 or 2 people (almost always defenders) on a blue between the yellow and greens has worked extremely well, to the point of preventing having to retreat mid-bloom.
  24. Raids have been more like they used to be lately.

The most important part of no-retreat is tanks picking up aggro quick, I would run that for the practice even when ignoring mitos if your goal is to get doing those again.
