I believe you're correct. The Cage Fighter and Trucker badges aren't required as I recall.

Thanks to all that came out for the Raid tonight. We got off to a late but very smooth start on the first run. Second run was riddled with Magus and was definitely rough. For future reference, please leave pulling to designated pullers, as it was an over-pull of Magus that caused most of the trouble on the second run.
That aside, it was fun as always. See everyone Saturday! -
While I agree wholeheartedly that we need more base love, much of this list is not likely to happen. A few nitpicks:
Teleport to mission doors
- Would defeat the purpose of having the Mission Teleporter power as part of the Valkyrie Booster
Trading Terminal (allows connection to Wentworth or Black Market)
- Not likely to happen for various reasons
Beacon Mounts (so beacons dont have to hang on walls)
- As mentioned above, this is already quite doable.
Message boards
- To be honest, isn't this what we've got forums for, as well as third-party sites like Guild Portal?
Arena Kiosks
- Not necessary since you can access the Arena from your main menu anywhere, anytime.
Low G Field (hover effect or enhance jump/slow effect)
- While perhaps nifty thematically for space bases or so, this isn't needed.
Targeting Dummies (always targetable/indestructible)
- Only point to this would be if they were similar to the dummies used in Guild Wars to test the potency of attack powers. If they're just there for no reason, why not just make your own?
Supergroup Costume creator/editor
- We have a costume designer already. It's not that hard to design your own SG costume and spread it out to your SG-mates. That's one thing that using a site like Guild Portal is good for, since they come with forums you can post things like that on.
Personal Rooms
Flight Operations
Starship Dock
Missile Storage
Maintenance Bay
Elevator
Submarine Bay
Training Room (danger room)
Barracks (work with Gladiator Badges)
Alternate Oversight Room
Hallways
Secure Storage Room
Arcane Doorway
- Pretty much all of this can already be done with the current base editor. As mentioned above, look at the plethora of stacking instructions and the rooms/items we have in the stickied threads to see whats possible.
Other types of Inspiration dispensers
- In all honesty, just use the Inspiration Collectors and keep them stocked with extra inspirations for you take when needed.
Trees without planters
- Unless you're already on the lowest floor height, just place the tree planters below the floor level to hide the planter. Drop a dirt pile and/or some smaller planters around it to give the appearance of it not just growing out of the concrete.
Divider curtains on movable racks
- I have no idea what you're getting at here...
Medical beds
- Already exist in "Other Furniture" I believe
Storage cabinets that can have items placed on top
- Already possible with a little use of stacking. Unless you meant placing items inside so that the cabinets can appear full, at least when using glass-front cabinets.
Pool
- Can already be done using a combination of Slow Fields, lighting and floor style, depending on what your preference is for looks.
Block (allows items to be placed on, including stairs)
- Once again, stacking is already possible using Desks, Floor Safes and Accent Lamps.
Bloody Bay
Sirens Call
Warburg
Hive
Abyss
- Beacons to PvP zones are a no-no, as mentioned above already. The Hive and The Abyss I could see, but since they are already easily accessed from their own respective entry zones, its not a requirement.
Ability to set security level to individual storage devices
Super group Invention Storage (accessible by all in SG)
- Already have these.
Multiple levels
- Can already be done using the aforementioned stacking tools.
Ability to log off and in Base
- You can log off in your base. When you log back in, you are standing next to the base portal in the last outside zone you were in before logging in your base. Not quite what you're aiming for, but its good enough.
Uniformity in size regarding items with identical functions (ie supercomputer/orbits of control)
- I can't speak for others, but I wouldn't want my Orbits of Control item to be scaled down to 1/5 the size to match the Supercomputer. Unneeded if you ask me.
Portal in base give same zoning options portals outside of base give
- This is what zone teleporters are for. If your entry/exit portal gave the same options as say the Rogue Isles Ferry it would defeat the whole purpose of having zone teleporters.
More variety in room sizes (ie more 1x3)
- I've never had an issue with room sizes. If its too big, use a smaller one. If its too small, use a larger one. Also, any room can be divided up using the various stacking tools.
Base Sounds
- Some items already have their own sounds, such as the Orbits of Control. I for one wouldn't want to listen to constant echoing beeps from every computer console in the base though.
Make bookcase stackable
- Once again, see stacking tools.
Minimize all footprints
- Some of us like our large extravagant bases though, hehe
Increase storage size on items or craftable better storage items
- While this would be nice, its not likely if you ask a redname due to various issues, the most prevalent of which involves the BM/WW.
Vehicles
- I'm hoping that you mean decorative vehicles. Functioning vehicles are a no-no. -
I'd definitely appreciate any help you could offer Wulf. I've been on quite a few of your Hero-side Hami Raids, so the general idea is well entrenched in my mind, heh. If you'd be willing to post or send me the general outline of your Villain-side Hami Raids on Pinnacle sometime in the near future, that would help greatly I'd think.
Quote:Yeah, I recall that aborted attempt. I saw your call in the Globals for more people, but by the time I showed up with some reinforcments, most had already given it up as unachievable.A few Months ago we tried to organize one, but half the people wanted to do their own thing. But I would be more than happy to join in the fun. I am available most times.
Quote:I know most of you dont like southern but she has done a villian hami raid on her server alot and they got it going good so if you need more adivce might want to hit her up
Quote:Hammmie!!!!!!!!
And thanks to everyone else that's shown their support thus far. I'd like to aim for a Saturday or Sunday Raid day, perhaps the weekend of the 21-22nd or 28-29th. That will give everyone enough notice to set aside some time, as well as giving Wulf, Mel and any others ample time to confer with me over tactics. -
On and off over the past couple of months I've been pulling all the information I can on running a Villain-side Hamidon Raid. Some people I've talked to in the Globals and among my Coalitions have expressed interest in giving one a test run.
What I'd like to put out here now, is basically a poll to see if there is enough interest among us Guardianites to put one together in the near future. Most of the information that I've pulled on Villain Hami Raids is rather antiquated (most is pre-i12), so if anyone that has run them in the past on Guardian or other servers is willing to offer their assistance in making this happen, they'd be more than welcome.
If possible, I'd like to schedule a full test run to help fine-tune our tactics within the next couple of weeks. Suggestions on what would be a good day/time for most is welcome.
So, any takers? -
I feel I've held my tongue for long enough now, so here's my two bits. If anyone is offended by it, so be it. I'm not aiming to offend.
On the subject of PvP on Guardian. Without naming names, there are some people that frequent RV that tend to drive anyone new away within minutes sometimes. I'm talking about the totally unnecessary insults that those people often fling around. Now, I'm all for trash talking. That's part of PvP in any game, whether its an MMO or a shooter. But the few people that go overboard for no reason other than to belittle others really tends to drive away anyone that's just starting out in PvP. Give them a spanking, by all means, but there's no need to chase them out of the zone for good by insulting their friends, family or lifestyle (and yes, I do see this often enough).
I'm relatively new to PvP in any form on Guardian, having only in recent months begun to frequent RV on a daily basis and building toons specificely for PvP. I've stuck it out because there are at least more good apples than bad in the PvP zones, and I'm willing to look past the obvious social shortcomings of those few bad apples. But some others that I've run into that are even newer to PvP than I am refuse to even show up in PvP zones or Arena events due to the poor attitudes of those few.
Dill, DP, Pet, hell even Brewha and Cronic (these all among others), while full of smack talk sometimes, at least make PvP fun and challenging and don't make it a point to drive new PvP'ers from the zone. Now, I'll admit I've let my temper get the best of me a few times. It happens to the best of us. But unlike those few I've been referring to from the start, I'm not actively abusing others for my own amusement. I will go out of my way at times to give suggestions and help when it comes to PvP, at least regarding the few AT's I PvP on and thus know anything about.
Basically the tl;dr version of this is that while smack talk always was, is and will be a part of PvP, there's no reason to go overboard. If a new PvP'er comes in and gets his butt handed to him repeatedly, offer him/her a hand in an effort to make them better at it. This will go a long way to making PvP on Guardian more appealing to new people. It doesn't have to be Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, but it also doesn't need to be a grating and degrading experience.
As for PvE on Guardian. If you feel that you're having trouble getting teams for things, then try seeking out new avenues to find those teams. Make use of the Guardian, Guardian TF and Level 50 channels. Join an active SG/VG or Coalition. Pick up some of those AE babies and teach them about the game that they've been missing out on while being cooped up in that stuffy AE building. You may be surprised at how some of them will respond to a kind but firm hand, much like children. All those dozens of AE babies that we see running around are part of the future of this game. Don't drive them away by deriding them for being AE babies. Treat them as the newbies they are and help them learn the ways of the game. While there will be a few that are too hung up on doing nothing but AE power-leveling, the lion's share of them are now out and about in the zones, trying to play the game itself.
I ran across someone the other day in one of the Global channels that was doing nothing but complaining about running on a banner team with a bunch of newbies/AE babies. They didn't know what they were doing, and rather then help them, they got yelled at (effectively, not literally) and then smack-talked in the global channel. They're newbies, so we need to bear with them and try to help them, not disparage them for not knowing anything.
As was mentioned in a previous post in the thread, basically we need to be willing to be friendly and welcoming to people who are new to the server, rather than shunning them and making them feel like they don't belong. If you want more people to play with on Guardian, we need to make more of an effort to change that. A server merg wouldn't help this any. All those newbies would just be moved to the new merged server and still shunned for being AE babies, or just plain new. So you're left with the same scenario as we have now, just perhaps a few more older players to team with.
Ok, so that was a little more than two bits. My apologies.
End rant. -
The last line pretty much sums it up, heh.
Quote:As stated before, when it comes to server consolidation... HELL NO. -
Quote:There is also the harder trick to make objects sit an angle.
You need to use Cubicle first and then place Cable Bundles and when you place another Item between them, you can but the item at a tilt. I think it only works with wall items(which could be a door) but I'm not sure.
If the Cubicle isn't feasible due to its size, you can also use Shoji (sp?) Wall Lamps built out from the wall to the point you want something angled, then place your door item or whatever it is you want placed at an angle to the wall. -
You can also use the Accent Lamp or various desks as elevation tools for the floor tile. And as for the safes, the floor tile doesn't have to placed on top. You can move the floor tile to various heights within the safe as well, just as you would while using the Accent Lamp. With the desks though, the floor tile can only be placed directly on top.
Note though that the floor tile will always click to specific points when you move it up and down the lamp or safe. It doesn't always align to exact height you may want, such as if you're trying to use the floor tile to allow you to place room detail items on the lower shelf of the Mission-Style Counter from the Cabinet section.
EDIT: You may want to have a look at the sticky thread on stacking as well.

Yeah. The arena scoreboard posts the list of people in the order that they joined the arena event, not the order of most defeats. You can of course sort the list by defeats, but some people don't know how to do that and just assume that the first one on the default display of the list is the winner.
-
Sucky, but understandable CreVo. Real life should always take precedent over the virtual one, hehe. See you in RV still hopefully!
-
Thanks everyone that came out for the Raid tonight, even with this being the first day of the Halloween Event. Second run was a little rough, but we pulled it off. Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday's Raid, if it goes ahead!

I finally got around to selling some stuff to Brewha yesterday, so I've got more than enough to cover ya now Virus. Anything up to 600mil and I can take care of it. Jets can pick up the 100mil if he likes and I can cover the rest.
-
If you haven't already got it covered Virus, I can swap Inf for ya. Not sure I've got 200mil to spare, but at least 125mil. I'll be hopping on the game in about an hour if you'll still be about.

Quote:Aside from Turkey Day today, I'm good for pretty much anytime. If next weekend is best for you guys, then next weekend it will be, hehe. Though if all four of us are on sometime during the week, that works as well.
Thats fine pyber, can't do it tonight either. eVo's comp broke, Can we get it for next weekend though?? that'd be cool -

Dang!! I am a sweetie!! No need to reimburse me for the cost.....you both deserve it!! Enjoy ;D
Now you can forum pvp all you want and let this thread be for League related posts.
No need to thank me! Twas my pleasure. ;D
GLHF to all the match participants today!!

*sigh*
Quote:To this, all I'm going to say is this, which is your own words:So if I'm paying $15/month for this, what do you think I'm doing with it? (Hint: Playing the game.)
Quote:I've been on a break longer than you've presumably had that account
Oh, and on topic, I won't be in-game until late tonight, so my match will have to be postponed until at least Monday. Turkey day takes precedent over duels, hehe. -
Quote:I don't see why it would be an issue. Just add the functionality of the AE computer terminals to the existing Mission Computer item (and its arcane equivalent). With a little effort, it could be done and wouldn't require the designing of a whole new item. And it would give new purpose to a base item that is really quite underused in my opinion.
- AE terminal (might not be possible with present base coding) -
Quote:Probably a good idea. Unless we plan on flying this thread to Lybia, we may as well quit hijacking it, hehe.
This thread is way off track. Maybe someone should make a new thread to vent frustrations so Kool and Co can get back to their League chitchat.Have fun in the matches Sunday,Leageur's! -
This thread has been trolled...
O_O -
Quote:*sigh*
Also, PK SQU4DR0N.
Why am I not surprised?
Quote:But as I said about TA, I'm sure you have no idea about us being some 18 month (excuse me I didn't mean to make it seem like you were playing a bit longer, how insulting!) "quiet" guy that has 4x the postcount of myself.
As for my post count, that means as little as my Vet Badge count. Like Southern said, what does it matter how long you've been playing? Its more about how you play than how long you've played, or with whom.
You know what, I just had an epiphany. You're a WoWbie aren't you?
O_O -
LOL Gunny. There should be a footnote on there though about it being amusing to feed the trolls from time to time. Threads can get pretty dreary at times, and the odd professional troll can liven things up, hehe.
Quote:It wasn't like I was challenging you to a pissing contest, heh. I just feel that if you're going to talk smack (even while trolling), you should be willing to step up. Just because Guardian PvP isn't all that lively doesn't mean that the ones who do PvP don't know how.Yeah sure Pyber, and then I'll fight everyone else in here and everyone else who has ever had to resort to saying "prove it 1 on 1, ***."
Quote:Guess that's what I get for being in a well sought after SG.
Quote:Also, your claim to be here for several years is pretty funny. Some of the people I've talked to who've been here the whole time don't even know who you are; and don't bother trying to make some excuse about being a quiet one, because I know how you forum types are and Guardian channel's history (hint: I've been it damn near since day 1).
Quote:It's like you forum nerds just have to drivel on in the channel repeating the exact same thing you've already said on here. -
Quote:Haha. Good luck with that. Unless all plan on doing is farming and/or spending billions of Inf, you won't have much luck with it, considering how little a base can actually hold compared to how much there is on the market.
4. How many of you would think it would be funny to flood a server's hero side market full of rare enhancements and salvage. (psst - This is what I'm planning to do)
And FYI, the markets are cross-server. All Heroes access the same market info on all servers. The same applies to Villains.
