Whoa, that's awesome!

I'm not entirely sure why dominators would take propel. There are generally better attack powers to be had in their secondaries.
[/ QUOTE ]
It depends. Energy and Psi Assault would benefit from Propel for many levels. -
I have updated my Gravity Control guide and Energy Assault guide to issue 11.

I just updated all my guides to Issue 11. Think you can note that for this thread?
Thanks in advance! -

However, I do feel that the recharge of Power Boost is too long. It's a staple self-buff power like Aim and Build Up, which both have 90 second recharges. What's more, it's typically used with the like of Flashfire and Wormhole, which typically have a 90 second recharge.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll get tarred & feathered for saying this, but I don't have a problem with power boost's recharge. You get it not too long before SOs, so having it 3 slotted and half the base duration isn't too much of a wait. Outside of PVP the best use of power boost is in tandem with your opening AOE mez attack, the other good uses are just icing on that cake. Aim only gives to-hit & damage. Power boost gives (with the appropriate ancillary powers) to-hit, mez duration, heal, defense, and anything else it might boost that I don't routinely use it with.
Of course the comeback in the past is the blaster version is on a shorter recharge. I can't argue against that or getting a buff. All I can say (and keep a clean conscious) is I genuinely don't feel it is needed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dominator Power Boost is more powerful than the blaster version. It's +110% for blasters, +155% for doms, or something close to that. Either that's an oversite or the devs figured they'd scale the power level up and slow the recharge down a bit.
Either way, PB seems very effective overall. Realistically you need to have Hasten anyhow. My concern is with Energy Assaults ranged attack animation times, gimped Total Focus version, and lack of AoE damage. There's a lot of things to fix in Energy Assault and I wouldnt recommend starting with Power Boost. -

Here's the new blaster guide redone for Issue 10. The guide is hosted offsite, but comments are great in this thread.

That would be great if you could run Stats, if not it's all good. Yea but come on, who doesn't want more AoE? I live for it on my Dark/Rad Defender and I know I would love it on a Grav/Psi. I'm a wee bit odd though. >.>

This is from a solo mission on Ruthless. AoEs like this really come into their own on a team though. I'm only able to hit 2-4 targets most casts solo.

That's one well-formatted guide!
Well I come from a very different school of Domination.
Immobilizes: I see neophyte Dominators get themselves killed all the time with Immobilizes (and I've been the victim back when I took such powers). A level 8 Dominator using Crushing Field on a team is a dead Dominator. Taking the single target Immobilize for PvE is just about worthless. If you really want Immobilizes, let Singularity spam those out for you. You really don't need to do it yourself.
Total Focus vs. Propel: Sure, Propel is a fun power. But with an entire secondary of attacks, what do Dominators need this one for? It's meant for Controllers who need the attack and have Containment to double its damage justifying its long, long activation/animation time. Why take Total Focus instead? Damage: Total Focus: 148 Propel: 71 Yes, more than twice the damage. The two aren't even in the same ballpark. TF = great, Propel = junk (for Doms; fun, but junk) Being in melee isn't really an issue for Doms. Doms are a melee Archetype.
The tone you have towards those with different build and playstyle philosophies really should be addressed. You call anyone with a different viewpoint a "weak player" and imply they don't know what they're doing. This is unnecessary and frankly makes you look a bit petty. Notice how on my notes above I address the facts and not the person? You should do the same.
You come more from a Controller (emphasis on primary, secondary mostly used soloing) school of Dominator technique and I respect that. For myself I am much more scrappy with my Doms (emphasis on balance between primary and secondary, solo or teamed) and I feel as designed the Archetype is more at home with that approach (the secondary builds Domination much faster than the primary for example).
But these are all just playstyle differences at the end of the day. The guide is a good guide for those who want a more Controllery approach to Dominators. It's very well formatted and your numbers are accurate. I may write a Grav/Ener guide myself after I get my G/E Dom to 50 to clarify my own views on the combo. This guide certainly sets a very good standard.

I appreciate the feedback. But I disagree with you about the immobilizes. And your style is no less antagonistic than mine is. When I make my case I am offering examples of why a power is good or bad. That's the proper why to offer other players advice on how powers work. Some players will disagree, and resent the fact that I'm accurately describing how to do things. But that's the whole point of a guide: To give examples, evidence, and descriptions.
Looking at you're advice, you've specifically said that a level 8 dominator using Crushing Field on a team is a dead dominator. But you dont say WHY. Is that really valuable advice? What if you're wrong?
I can say that I levelled up SPAMMING Crushing Field. All it takes is a little common sense, as I pointed out in my guide. I used it multiple times per spawn, as soon as I got the power.
The same is to be said with your point on single target immobilizes. You cant call the power worthless with no evidence or examples and claim that your style of delivery is great and innoffensive. Why is a single target immobilize worthless? I made the point that it does effective damage, has an awesome animation, and builds Domination faster than almost any power across the entire archetype. It also has great potential for extremely affordable IO sets. And other points I've made over in my guide.
Your point: Its worthless because I wrote it down. That's really not the best way to make an argument, especially in a build guide.
I expect that it's less about my writing style, and more about my recommendations that will bother some players. That's fine, and I'm willing to debate my points. But we need to start with an open discussion, which most players arent at all interested in. -

Thanks for the guide, had a few questions about Grav/Energy and it helped me abit. I was wondering how effective the damage proc was in Crushing Field, seems like if you are able to spam it that you could get a hefty chunk of damage from it. I've been looking into it as an option for my Grav/Psi when I get him made since he'll have endurance in spades.
[/ QUOTE ]
With just one damage proc IO (and Positrons Blast set), Crushing Field became the most damaging power I had on a large team. Since then I've added another dam proc. I can run the herostats and report back the actuals. You will already have some nice AoE attacks in Psi Assault though. -
I have a Gravity and Energy guide up on the guide forum HERE

Guide is available on my freewebs site:

Comments are good here. -
According to CoD, Singularity still uses the old 3 second animation times for Crush and Gravity Distortion. Has this been updated yet to the new under 2s animation times?
If not, this should probably be noted as an issue. -
That information is cool, but the Futurama reference is even better.

I'm almost done with my new binds and I'll release a guide on it this week. It's taken a while to make everything really generic so it works more like a template instead of my own personal binds. -
Do you know if there's a command that allows you to set max particle count? I've figured out most of the other graphic options but this is a huge one with no command I know of.

Sure then give blaster mez protection also.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seriously, though. Give everyone mez protection, just a little bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd buy into something like this. Change the way all MEZ works. DONT let toggles drop when mezzed. Toggles should stay up as long as you have the END to use them. But change Tank, Brute, and Scrapper MEZ protection to MEZ resistance (the way Accelerate Metabolism works).
That would give the 'Tank' classes the ability to absorb much more damage at all times. They could be held in place here and there, but the status effect would end much sooner than normal. And while under status, no toggles would drop.
Then you give some limited MEZ protection to the squishy classes, and take away their resistances. This makes them truly vulnerable to raw damage. If they get caught up in a brawl they are in a bad spot. But you give them more opportunity to avoid getting put in that bad spot. It also lets the support archetypes do more support due to less frequest MEZ downtime.
It also seems more 'comic-booky' to me. Superman gets held here and there but he doesnt need to become squishy at the same time. -

It is a BUG that the powers that Henchmen gain when you upgrade them are not affected by Enhancements.
Training Room should be getting a version soon where this is fixed.
It was not noticed until it was "too late" to change the final-live build. Please play with it on Training Room to see if your Masterminds have become TOO powerful.
Another bug (also being fixed) is when MM Henchmen can't affect other players in PVP.

Since I havent seen it posted yet, I thought I'd point out that Hami-O */MEZ enhancements don't affect endurance drain. I tested it the other day since I heard rumors they helped.
No such luck. -

[ QUOTE ]
States, I hate to be rude, but if you seriously think that an electric blaster's drain can be helpful againest an AV, you obviously have never played one.
[/ QUOTE ]
Let's not put words in my mouth here...a SINGLE electric blaster DOES drain endurance from an AV. BUT definitely not enough to make an impact. All secondary effects against AV's are resisted...it takes several electric blasters to make an appreciable dent in an AV (just like it takes many heroes to bring one down).
[/ QUOTE ]
Endurance drain is useless against Archvillians. There's no point to bothering. I'd like to see you (statesman) fight an AV as an electic blaster on god mode for awhile and see how long it takes until the drain does a thing. My guess would be at least 5-10 minutes.
I fough the clockwork king yesterday and with enough +Def inspirations I went for several minutes by myself. And he wasnt drained more than 10%. Drain is effectively usless on AVs. The only thing that matters is damage. I don't have a problem with that, but to suggest otherwise indicates a huge lack of understanding of your own game. That's a little discouraging.
