Yes actually, that is one of the big things DC is doing with this whole reboot thing, same day digital release.

I thought Supergirl was a pretty good reboot. Got a really good sense of the character from the issue.

All the Superfamily books so far have impressed me

Well I just finished reading Red Hood and the Outlaws and I am pissed as hell.

they have destroyed any sense of character that Starfire had, she has been reduced to some 10 year old's wet dream. A weapon of Mass destruction you can have sex with, and who will forget about it in the morning.

I don't think anything in this reboot has pissed me off as much as this book did.

Animal Man was a pleasant surprise. I didn't like the art at first. It just didn't seem to mesh with the story but as we got closer to the end of the book it just started to fit.

Action was everything I could have hoped for

Stormwatch was interesting and I'm curious to see how it goes. Ditto for Men of War but for different reasons. I want Men of War to succeed just to help American Comics move away from the Superhero stuff. If a War comic can succeed then it give the industry an excuse to start expanding into other genres of storytelling

The rest of the stuff I got today was OK but none of it really stood out to me
  4. I might actually buy a PS3 or Xbox for this game alone (Been making do with my trusty PS2)

Celara the female Super Sayian is just waiting for battle

    DCnU [Spoilers!]

    It's not bad so far

I get the impression that the Three Timelines that had to be merged were DC, Vertigo and Wildstorm. IE: all the elements they wanted to bring together to make their new universe.

Basically "Everything up to this point was actually the result of an Evil Threat trying to set things up for an easy invasion and now the Universe is the way it should have been"

Giving us foreshadowing for the next Big EVENT book probably next summer.

    JL I didn't mind.
I think the Pacing was a little rushed in some spots.
Seems a bit silly that Batman can just swipe Hal's ring like that
Hal's Ego seems a little on overdrive but I guess that makes sense. He clearly hasn't encountered anything so far that he couldn't handle.
I like their choice for the Big Bad, He pretty much tops my list of "why the world needs a Justice League" villains.

I can understand them deciding to go look for Superman.
At this point in time there is only 1 Know Alien on the Planet and that's Superman. You find some piece of Alien tech that even Hal's GL encyclopedia can't ID, go ask the one Alien on the planet you know about.
and I understand why Superman clocked GL so quick.
He heard everything Hal said out there. He has clearly either just finished beating on some Lex goons or is still in the middle of it and all of a sudden some Green bugger shows up bragging about how easily he's going to lock him up and question him.

That look on the last page is pretty much "Lol, try again newb"

    I kind of like it.
  6. I don't have a huge problem with Superman's marriage vanishing, I mean they are pretty much restarting the whole story so I can kind of accept that he's not married yet.

I don't like it but I can accept it.

At least they didn't do it the way Marvel snuffed Spider-Man's marriage.
  7. Don't forget Batwing and the rest of the Batman Inc. stuff.

Honestly I think there is way to many people going around with a Bat on their chest
  8. Woot

Today I received my Complete Guyver Collection. All 6 volumes plus Art Box for only $13 (+$12 shipping)

    I know it's a bit older but damn it's one I enjoy.

Now I just gotta plan myself a marathon sit down weekend to watch the whole thing.

If you like Dark SciFi with a bit of superhero thrown in and a splash of blood and guts give it a shot, it's one of my favs.
  9. I'm not happy about the Superman changes

heck I'm not happy about a lot of the changes

But I think I am still giving it a shot. Just 1 shot though. They get 1 issue to prove that this is worth doing
  10. I've really been enjoying the series, I think they did a great job so far.

The Skyhigh episode made me feel so sad for the guy.

Just looking at the poor guy sitting on the bench with his huge pile of flowers waiting for the girl. I can't help but shake my head and think "dude... you poor sob."

It's better he never learn the truth
  11. Starting in on the new Season of stuff now. Some of it has me curious and a few others seem like a pretty big waste of time.

Mawaru Penguindrum - I have no idea what to make of this yet. First episode left me confused and wondering if I want to watch episode 2 or not.

Sacred Seven - Seems like a pretty standard hero boy beats up monster of the week series. Not bad for what it is.

Usagi Drop - I fell completely in love with this series after 1 episode.

Nekogami Yaoyorozu - Again not 100% sure on this series. looks like it will be fun...plus has the cutest god of Poverty I have ever seen

but my biggest joy is a new season of Baka Test
  12. From what I gather Wildstorm is still it's own separate world (Earth 40 or something like that), but some Wildstorm characters are being incorporated into the regular DC. Likely some of their backgrounds and origins will change a bit. Voodoo and Grifter for example exist without the WILD Cats team and all the back story from that. Apollo and Midnighter are likewise new DC universe versions of themselves, though apparently still gay.

There is some speculation that the Flashpoint: Project Superman is laying the foundation for Apollo's DC backstory

I'm going to miss the JSA though. With them making Superman the first Superhero and the JLA the first team it's pretty clear that the WW2 heroes are being erased or at the very least buried and forgotten.

The only thing that remained the same, although they did get bigger as did the hole in her costume, was her boobs. From seeing the pictures of the DCnU, I'm assuming that she will appear in a costume that covers her up a bit.
To be fair Power Girl was originally Supergirl from an alternate earth. After the CoIE way back when they did all kinds of rewrites trying to keep her around and none of them really worked. Eventually they just said to hell with it and went back to her original origins.

There has been some mention that she will appear early on as Karen Star with the relaunch but they have been very shady about not mentioning her Power Girl identity. Has a lot of folks worried they decided to depower her down to ordinary human and stuff in as someone's supporting cast. Shame too because her book was one to the few actually gaining numbers instead of loosing them.

Gotta say I don't like a lot of what I've seen for this reboot. Birds of Prey, one of my favorite books, seems to have the distinction of the more awful character redesigns of the lot. Plus they seems to be pushing Superboy farther and farther into Emo territory.

I'm gonna try some of the books in September but I'm only giving them 1 issue to hook me. I figure if they can't manage that then this whole thing is going to end up a wash
  14. Firefox stopped me going to account management as well.

Just before I went there I had received an Email supposedly from NCSoft saying something about me being part of a "controversial transaction" and that I should log into my account right away or I would be suspended. The Email didn't mention what game or even list my user ID so it was clearly fake.

I went to the NCsoft site through the normal way (not stupid enough to click the handily provided link) but I got the Firefox block telling me someone could be impersonating the site.

If it is a site hijacking it's a nasty combo
