The door opened after the Lord of Rags, and a blonde, blue-eyed hero with probably the messiest hair possible, with probably the cleanest armour, stepped into the room. He glanced around quickly, and sighed.
"Great. Stuck with a bunch of weirdos and freaks. Has anyone seen either a kid that seems to have a messed up smoke machine following him around, or a little pink, defenseless, and most likely to grow up looking after sick kids robot, or, if both at the same time, aforementioned boy stalked previously mentioned girl?" he asked, muttered, and chuckled, seemingly all in one breath. -

...Counter Strike: Source this time.))
The forcefield seemed to bend inward slightly, then reform.
"Hm... Fine... You want to play roughly? We can play roughly." Shimmer muttered into a microphone, shouting a disfigured, robotic voice toward Charles instead of Shimmer's voice.
Then, a large, well-armoured robot smashed itself out of the toward, and phased through the forcefield, covered in its own version of it. It aimed its two glowing arms up at Charles, and two blockers slid from their places. The two arms glowed a deep, cold blue, and then the rail guns fired. Following that, five missiles fired from the back. Which split into ten. Then twenty. Then fourty.
The cluster missiles split into eighty portions, and flew high, low, and around Charles, hoping to catch him by surprise.
Meanwhile, the Assault Bot below began walking through the lava, his armour protecting him entirely. Then, he slammed his foot down, causing the ground to rumble under Charles, and then erupt in a fountain of lava and molten rock.
((Shimmer's line of attack-
"Send out the troops!"
"Oh, they died? Well, send out the melee-bots!"
"They were destroyed? USE AMAZING HI-TECH WEAPONRY, LAVA, AND ALL TYPES OF DEADLY DEVICES AND NATURE TO DESTROY AND MUTILATE MY FOE!!!"
"Oh, that failed?"

This is Greyscribe we are talking about here. Did you REALLY expect anything less?
Hell, him coming up with a bad idea is about as likely as me coming up with something actually funny and not just so stupid that people laugh AT me.
...What? Stop looking at me that way! I am NOT paranoid!

Also, for a majorly dramatic/terribly sad, beginning to the final battle of a hero's career...

Sadly enough, it really sounds like Experiment regaining consciousness or something, and PDA malfunctioning before a big showdown. Although, I bet somebody else could use this better than me. -
Clicky
This seems to suit Experiment becoming serious, however rare it may be, to defend his friends or family. I can actually imagine this going through my head as he continuously tries to pummel Hal due to his interferance in getting in his way to Burning in GoCC. -
The forcefield shimmered, much like its creator's head, but did not falter.
Inside, Shimmer simply watched from a comfy chair at the telekinetic's attempts. He growled slightly, then smirked. He flipped open a switch on his chair, and hit the button underneath.
The energy field surrounding him base immediately expanded about twenty feet, right toward Charles. It then reversed to its original state, looking peaceful as ever. If Charles was hit, he would probably be blown back a good fifty feet due to the force. -
"Sir! Scanners picked up a sentient being coming toward us!" a robotic voice echoed through the halls, causing Shimmer to flinch.
"You realize, of course, that I can hear you."
"...Well, yes sir, but I just assumed--"
"That I wanted to go deaf? Just... Quiet down and destroy him."
"Certainly, mi'lord."
With that, two blue drones fired from the open air-ways into the base, shutting them behind them as they enabled their laser-blade arms. The then jetted toward Charles' position, ready to strike down and burn any opposition.
((Sorry for t3h m4x delay, but I was playing Battlefield 2142.
...What? It's Battlefield 2142!)) -
"WHAM!" the blond, blue-eyed hero shouted as his fist collided with a Hellion's face. A few crunches were heard, and then another resounding smash as the Hellion hit his buddys.
He dusted off his hands, chuckling. "Ah, weak as ever. You guys really need to practice fighting a little more."
He began dusting off his red armour, seeming to reflect every little bit of sunlight in an annoying way after the dust-off. Then, however, he bent down, picked up a purse, and handed it to a woman about the age of twenty-one.
"There you go, ma'am. First of all, don't walk down dark alley ways in Steel Canyon at night. Second of all..." He pulled a card from his belt, and handed it to the woman. "Call me."
With that, he pulled three blue devices from his belt, and walked toward the thugs. He placed each device on their shirts, and hit a button on his belt. They all disappeared in a flash of light to Ziggursky Prison.
The hero activated his jets, blasting away from the crime scene. The woman looked up, puzzled, before looking at the card.

The card had flipped out by now, and reached all the way to the ground.
The woman was found later to have bleeding ears and a serious headache from the amazing amount of terrible, unfunny puns that had been thrown on the card.
Experiment, meanwhile, landed at Icon. He walked in, taking a flourishing bow, and made his way to Serge. "You ever get bored of me? Seriously, I come in here every day, and you seem to serve me just as well as anyone else." He commented, picking up a pair of sunglasses. He pulled a bag from his belt, full of money it seemed, and gave it to Serge.
"Because you pay ridiculous money for your clothing, perhaps?" -
"Any news?" Shimmer spoke into the microphone, his voice completely scrambled. The drone responded in the next room.
"We assume so, Lord Shimmer. A new structure was sighted in your domain, and we have sent scouting drones to acquire proof that this new arrival is either friendly or hostile."
Shimmer responded with an affirmative grunt and disconnected the microphone. After waiting a few secods, he took the Voice Masker away from the mic. and sighed.
"I have no idea where I am, I don't know where my free-thinking minions are, and I don't even know if Experiment 2.0 is here to pummel or not," Shimmer mused quietly to himself, leaning back on his spinning chair, "I am slightly depressed."
However, another robotic voice interrupted his emo-scene. "My lord, the scout drones are nearing their target."
They were, too. Three medium-sized, store-bought gray drones jetted toward the place they had detected unusual activity. However, they stopped about half a mile up. They seperated, splitting up to get the best recon positions available. If anybody were to look up, they would see three blue, blinking dots at seperate intervals, the recording devices of each drone. -
((Official? Really?
...Do I get a trophy? A certificate? Heck, a little nametag would be nice. "Hello, I am [Prodiguy], and I am official master of comedy. How may I pun(t) you today?")) -
Shimmer descended the steps of the base quickly, holding the pulsing, glowing energy rifle at arms length. Experiment 3.0 raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?"
"This device is about to self destruct!" Shimmer replied, throwing the rifle into 3.0's hands. A foot then connected with the demon's chest, sending him out the window. "You can have it!"
However, when 3.0 got back upstairs, Shimmer was nowhere to be seen. He glared around, but no reflective head was spotted. Blind Messenger exited the stairwell upward, scroll in hand.
"Hey, Blind, did you see Shimmer? I need to pummel his face in."
"Uh... No? I saw him run down here with some weird rifle thing that kept expending energy, but apart from that..."
However, what the two villains didn't know, was that Shimmer had been pulled from his base, and thrown into another.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shimmer rubbed his metallic head, causing a slight squeak. He looked around his main Conferance Room, seeing no differences. He stood, and approached the window to call to Experiment. However, the second he looked out, a single phrase popped into his head that he just HAD to say.
"I'm not in Paragon anymore..."
Lakes of boiling, molten lava flowed around his base, creating a semi-moat, and a nice little area of protection. However, the constant sounds of machinery usually in his base had stayed. Apparently, he still had his robots.
He raced up the closest stairwell, leading to his laboratory.
He activated the surveillance feed, allowing him to view the exterior of his base. No damage, as far as he could tell, had been done to the ground detachment base. The five turrets on all four sides of the silver and black base were still functioning, the exhaust ports for the drones to leave from were still open, and the forcefield was still active.
He nodded his approval that his base had kept itself online, but was slightly disturbed. "If Experiment 3.0 is not here, then it is likely Blind Messenger is not either... I mean, they are useless fighters, but they ARE capable meat-shields and distractions... I may actually have to be CAREFUL..." -
I remember this thread!
Name: nhoJ drallaB
A.K.A.: Experiment 3.0
Age: Assumed to be about four in creation-age.
Threads appeared in: Game of Cosmic Chess (First appearance/Cameo), City of Zombies, "...He has a BADSIDE?" (Cameo).
Description: Although rarely seen, Experiment 3.0 is a fearsome force. His abilities are amazingly questionable, what with his combination of spines and darkness, and his looks terrify small children.
Although he was created through Experiment 2.0's mutational abilities and Dr. Shimmer's attempt at a prototype version of the Paragon Protector project requiring a living subject, he lacks 2.0's virtue, honor, and in some cases, his intellect. And, according to Experiment, "The thing he lacks most? My good looks."
His skin colour seems to change every time he is seen. Nobody has figured out why yet, but during the Game of Cosmic Chess tournament, his skin was sickly green, while in the City of Zombies scenario, he was dark, bruise-like purple. ((To be honest, I haven't even thought of a reason for this. I just can't get used to a colour. Perhaps he has a thin layer of fur that he dyes? I dunno...))
His eyes are always aflame, unless he is sleeping or unconscious. The flames seem to draw from his soul due to a spell casted by the necromancer, Blind Messenger. 2.0's comment about the eyes and the explanation was "What? Your on fire inside? Where is the yelling and or screaming in pain?"
Alliegances: Dr. Shimmer; Blind Messenger. -
Experiment collided with the side of the elevator shaft due to one of the Battle Drone's super-enhanced strength. Then, searing laser blasts began following him, forcing him to fly yet again. He turned, and smashed right through the elevator door. He was back on the 100th floor.
He turned, pulling his arms up. The two drones began smashing their fists against him, but each arm was blocked by a nigh-unbreakable spine. He continued blocking, making sure that no hit got through. He would need all his strength.
Then, he jumped out the window.
The drones looked to one another, and jumped out after him. However, before their jets could reactivate, spines were shoved into their right and left feet, respectively. The first drone went veering left, the other right.
"So glad I took that one drone down first," 2.0 muttered as he began chasing the left drone, "This is so much EASIER now!"
However, the drone quickly reinitialized the right jet. Apparently, he hadn't been as disabled as the hero thought. However, a quick glance behind him and a resounding crash informed him that the other one WAS disabled.
While his head was turned, Experiment fired another spine. A piercing sound of bone-on-metal and the screech of a falling 'bot made it obvious that he hit his target.
-------------------------------------------
Experiment continued his work on the data-chip he had recovered from the last drone, and the work showed up on the Data Terminal. Experiment glanced up, and smirked.
"Alrighty then, let's find you, shall we?"
((What? I did this just to make sure it wasn't deleted? Preposterous!
Okay, maybe not so much.
However, I also did this to let people know that I don't mind you posting here either.)) -
((Well, since is the first story I actually finished (and think, it was the end of Experiment... I think that means something... Or I am paranoid.
Seriously, I don't mind people posting in the thread. It just helps. It isn't like I have written this stuff out yet. Honestly, in case you can't tell, I write it up randomly.
As in, one day, if I get the urge, I will go 'You know what? I think I will post another page.' or 'Story.'
So, yeah, in this story, or another, please post any suggestions or comments. Just please don't post 'Yeah, you suck.' or something like that, unless you really really mean it. I would prefer constructive criticism over simple 'j00 sux's.')) -
It took about two hours, but eventually, after much battle, Kevin was gasping for air, every panel of his armour dented, pierced, or destroyed.
He lay on the street, the flames that ignited the Paragon City Times illuminating him, Experiment 2.0, and Gravitoritron.
"Heh... You haven't won, fool... All you did was fall for the deception... The President of the United States and the Prime Minister of England are meeting the Governer of Rhode Island and the Mayor of Paragon City at Paragon City Hall today... And they won't live to finish their little discussion..." Kevin hissed, blood trailing down his mouth more and more with each word.
Jason raised his eyebrow as he frowned, while Experiment pulled his former friend up to his face. "Who the hell would even be able to do that, Kevin?! This whole city is protected by heroes; Hell, I can't even get into City Hall today, and I AM a hero!"
"Exactly, 'hero,' nobody will get in... So there will not be any collateral damage to cause Shimmer any guilt."
Jason's eyes widened, while a spine ripped into Kevin Stenton's stomach, ending his life. Blood poured from the hole as John pulled his arm back. The traitorous man fell to the floor, blood pooling around his body.
------------------------------------
"How would he even be able to do it?" Experiment repeated to himself, pacing along the street. The body of Liquid-Burst, or rather, the feet of the body of Liquid-Burst, could be seen hanging out of a large dumpster. "It's impossible..."
"Not for Shimmer." Jason chimed in, dusting off his purple trench coat and straightening out his black mask, "He can do pretty much anything if he wants to."
Having worked for Shimmer, albeit briefly, Jason was advising Experiment on what he could do, or what Shimmer could be doing. However, it didn't help much. Although he had worked for him, Jason didn't know his face, nor how his mind worked.
However, a news report interrupting the current program brought their attention to the television that seemed to be plugged into a random plug socket on a building exterior. "Breaking news; A large craft has been seen floating over Atlas Park, and nearing the center of the district. It is thought that it will attack the blimp, aiming to destroy the surveillance of a crime-scene recorded earlier today. Sources say--"
"...Or to destroy City Hall." Experiment muttered, holding a brand new remote. The oddest thing about the situation was not that the T.V. was on the street, but that it was brand new, no dirt, no dust, as well as a working, fully-powered remote. However, the T.V. switched on again.
"Also of note is that, aboard the ship, there stands a man dressed in scientist's clothing, and a woman in distress. This woman has a similar appearance to that of Jenny Ballard, the girl found dead earlier today in Steel Canyon." The television now switched itself off, and Experiment's eyes widened.
"...He has Jenny?"
------------------------------------
"John! Stop! You'll get yourself killed!" Jason shouted after his brother, who was about ready to take off toward the ship. A spine hit his arm, and he pulled it out quickly. The wound healed, but he quickly fell, snoring.
Experiment's jets activated, sending him up to the craft. Lasers fired at him from all angles, but they missed him by inches at all times. It seemed he was VERY lucky.
He flipped over the edge, slashing wildly at the guarding 'bots. Quite a few green and blue robots landed, dashing at Experiment with skimming jets speeding them up. They slashed at him with bladed arms, only to be decapitated as he leaped over them.
However, two huge robots then landed, one holding a gigantic missile pack, the other's arms composed of energy-cannons. They fired their respective artillery at the hero, only to have him perform his acrobatic maneuvers. The missiles pulled around, heading straight for the other Assault Bot, while the other Assault Bot fired at Experiment, missed, and hit the Missile Bot.
Both robots dropped, crashing to the ground with an explosion. Experiment stood from his landing, crouched position. He growled at the two forms overlooking City Hall over the edge of the craft.
However, a ball of red energy struck him from the taller form, sending him into a group of crates. The tall form threw the female form to the ground, tied and gagged.
Dr. Shimmer grinned at Experiment as he brought a black and red mace upward for a finishing blow. However, as he brought it down, an upward-aimed spine threw it from his hand. Experiment's right foot slammed into Shimmer's metal-plated chest, sending him into a wall. Another spine fired, hitting the energy-jewel on the head of the mace. It exploded in a blast of energy, and 2.0 stood.
"...You made me believe my sister was dead. You had a spy in my base for as long as I can remember, and now you want to kill the Prime Minister and the President? Who were you going to blame it on? Me?" Experiment growled, picking Shimmer up by the neck.
Shimmer simply grinned, and spoke clearly. "That was not the plan, Experiment. You think too much of yourself. For you see, I control almost half of the heroes in Atlas Park. They are about to transfer their power to my doomsday device, and help me destroy City Hall. Then, the hero population will be condemned, damned, and never forgiven. You will be destroyed one by one!"
With that, Shimmer spun his legs forward, slamming into Experiment's chest this time. He hit the railing, sending it clattering off the ship. Experiment began sliding down, only stabbing his spine in at the last second to save him. He gasped in pain, looking up.
Jenny was thrown from the ship, the tape ripped from her mouth. Her piercing scream almost deafened Experiment. He reached out his left hand, a spine ejecting and barely missed Jenny by inches. The ropes were cut, and she managed to throw out her arms. Wings of pure darkness shot out, allowing her to safely glide. However, she could no longer get back up to help her brother.
"...Be careful John..." She whispered as she slowly descended.
-------------------------------------
Experiment finally climbed to the top of the edge, rolling over it and bringing his fist up in an uppercut. Shimmer was prepared, and jumped backward. After this, he threw his metal fist down, colliding with Experiment's chest. It threw the breath out of the hero, but he still jumped up. He gripped his side, coughing up blood.
"You can not win, 2.0. I am too strong, too smart, too powerful for you!" Shimmer yelled, laughing in a maniac-like way. However, an armoured fist silenced him quickly. He spun in mid-air, his head meeting the ground as he flipped up onto his feet. "...Alright then. Let's finish this."
Drones began jetting from the ship, blasting quickly at Experiment. He glanced upward, only in time to feel a searing pain in his right arm. These drones were far beyond the ones he used to fight.
He began running.
He jumped over Shimmer, who began laughing yet again. Experiment initiated his jets, and began flying through the ship. He reached into his belt every few feet, placing small, beeping devices on every wall, blasts barely missing him as he angled himself away from the searing lasers.
He got a glancing shot across his left leg, causing him to pull it in. He turned right, down another hall. This continued for a while, glancing shots only hitting him every fourth hallway.
He finally smashed his way through the roof, then jetted forward, gripping Shimmer. 2.0 threw him backward into his drones, causing them to explode on impact with the mastermind. Apparently, the drones were not able to damage Shimmer.
Experiment landed, only to have pure energy strike him in the chest. He fell into an empty room. Shimmer glared at him, smirking as he brought a laser rifle up to him.
Experiment pulled a switch from his pocket. Shimmer's eyes widened, and he began running.
He was too late, as Experiment 2.0, also known as John Ballard, hit the button.
-----------------------------------
The sky lit up and everyone was forced to look upward as explosions rocked Atlas Park. The ship flying overhead began exploding from the inside, the halls beginning to blow up.
Several explosions occured on the main deck, where some had spotted Experiment 2.0, a former hero, and an odd scientist with a very shiny head doing battle. It was assumed later than Experiment still had some explosives with him when he hit the button.
The ship's internal workings shut down, the generator and doomsday absorber shutting off. The light on the bottom of the craft signifying the device blinked out of existance, and the ship began crashing downward.
However, explosions rocked the area again, the ship being blown in half. The back half exploded entirely, shrapnel and debris spreading over the district from the engine's destruction. The front half, meanwhile, continued taking explosive damage. Finally, a charge placed in the pilot bridge exploded, causing the ship to veer toward the War Walls. However, it did not reach said wall, as the last batch of charges went off.
The front of the ship exploded in a flurry of flashes and lights. Everyone was looking up in awe, discussing how Experiment probably got out of that one.
However, Jenny knew better as she sobbed, glaring at where the ship had hovered. Experiment would never have gotten out. It was too amazing an explosion. He would not have given Shimmer the chance to escape, either. He would have grabbed him, and hit the last few triggers. She buried her head in her legs, continuing to cry as citizens looked up in awe.
Jason's eyes finally cleared, regaining consciousness. However, at the sight of the ship exploding, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He looked down, and there was no damage. He frowned slightly, before realizing what it was. He never HAD felt loss before, really.
Emma and Anthony Ballard, meanwhile, were staring out the window, the television talking about the brave work of several new heroes, who were able to stop the ship and the scientist on board. At this point, nobody had any idea that Experiment 2.0 had done anything.
Emma looked up at her husband, and then began crying loudly. She buried her face into his shoulder, feeling the true loss of her oldest son. Anthony, however, could show no emotion. In all honesty, no emotion would match how he felt about this.
------------------------------------
About three months later, the truth was announced about Experiment 2.0's heroic sacrifice, and the end of an evil, deceitful man known as Dr. Kiezer Shimmer. Anthony Ballard tried to destroy Shimmer's effigy stone when he saw it, only to have his wife and only son restrain him.
At John Ballard's funeral, every employee of the 100th level of the Paragon City Times, temporarily jobless, and the secratery, came. All the Ballards, of course, as well as Earth Titania, and a man in entirely black clothing, with two large bulges on his back even came.
However, apart from them, it seemed nobody else would show. This was because this funeral was rather private. Not only that, but his parents did not want even more corruption than what had caused their son's death.
However, two more figures showed up, and were almost killed when the necromancer landed them.
Blind Messenger held a dark cloud around Experiment 3.0's corpse, keeping it suspended in mid-air. Jenny almost rushed forward to kill Blind, but Jason restrained her. "He wouldn't come here to hurt you. Nor to cause John's body to become zombified. He has more honor than that."
"Right you are, Gravi." Blind muttered, dropping 3.0's demonic form. It slumped, dead. "I thought that your brother would appreciate this, wherever he is. He always hated this creature."
With that, Experiment 3.0's form was dissipated into shadow, becoming non-existant. "For what it is worth, I give you my condolences."
With that, the necromancer dissappeared just as quickly as he had arrived.
The funeral commenced without a hitch, but before the service ended, Jenny stepped up to speak. She cleared her throat and wiped her eyes, looking on with despair in her eyes on her brother's casket.
Finally, she spoke.
"...Everyone here knew my brother. I know that. But... I don't think you knew him as well as I did... Not even my parents could say they did. You see, I knew my brother as John Ballard, as did his employees, my brother, and my parents. But I also knew him as Experiment, as did Earth Titania, Earthbound Angel, and a few of the other employees.
"He was a great guy, a great brother, and an awesome hero. Hell, you say your cat is in a tree, he would get the freakin' Longbow Flyer out... Hehe..."
Jenny then slammed her fist into the stand, causing a few people to jump. "And now he is dead, because of his heroic demeanor. He sacrificed himself, not only to save me, but to save government officials, citizens, heroes, anyone who could have been close to City Hall, as well as any other plans Shimmer may have hitched. He was a true hero, but he was also an amazing human being. If anyone says otherwise, I will personally kill you."
With those last words, Jenny stepped down, tears filling her eyes yet again.
------------------------------------
After the service, Earth Titania and Earthbound Angel apologized as they left, being called by Longbow for an important mission. The employees of the Paragon City Times were made aware that a warehouse would be available for use in the morning, and prepared for work.
However, the Ballards went home. Jason was allowed three weeks with his family before resuming his sentence, Jenny eventually moved in with a man, became married, had children, and has lived happily ever since, and the Ballard parents have lived out their lives together in quiet solitude.
[Edit: #1; Typo fix. #2: Yes, this is the end. Don't worry, no 'surprises' or 'Guess what? He's actually ALIVE!'s.' Experiment 2.0 is actually dead, Shimmer is actually dead, Kevin is actually a traitor, Jenny is actually Jenny... I am not Marvel, I do not backtrack.] -
Hmm... Experiment, if you please?
"I think of it this way; She is able to speed along the ground due to these jets, but then, that is the point: She is still on the ground. Therefore, there is DEFINATELY something stopping her, and that is obvious. Maybe gravity combined with her weight halts her ability to go straight upward? I mean, I have no idea how heavy she is, but it could be plausible.
"In essence, I am saying that, combined with the force of downward gravity on her structure's weight, she would not be able to get any good upward motion. I mean, Combat Jump height would probably be feasible, but the jets would probably cut out from over-exhertion."
Or perhaps he is making stuff up. I would personally wait for the smart people, not the practical joker, but still...
[Edit: Or, something else I just thought up...
She has a human brain, right? Perhaps it IS possible for her jets to do that, but she just won't. Reason? Perhaps she has a fear of heights.
I know, weird answer, but it just came to me after posting.[/Edit] -
"Three..." Experiment 2.0 muttered, his spine inside the handle of a wooden, arcane door.
"Two..." Liquid Burst returned, his arms pulsing with green and blue energy as he waited for the door to be pulled open roughly by Experiment, his mentor.
"ONE!" they shouted simultaneously, Experiment ripped the door off and Liquid Burst firing balls of energy inside, dissipating the enemy ghosts quickly and easily. While they battled, it seemed zombies came in waves to slow them down.
The only time it did as it was meant to do was when one zombie, only recently deceased, turned out to be a crabby old guy who had just commited suicide to get AWAY from the world.
Experiment found this funny, and stopped to laugh at his misfortune. Liquid destroyed the zombie again, 2.0 moaning in protest, and they continued.
It didn't take long to arrive at the Tele-Chamber, where Blind Messenger and D4rk S3rv4nt sat, plotting. At the sound of the main door opening, Blind's head turned, while the Dark Servant simply dissipated. The necromancer smiled as he rose.
"Ah, Experiment, and the little boy who could... shoot water at people. How nice of you to come in! Please, have a seat, some candy for the kid!"
"Why, thank you!" Experiment exclaimed, only to have Burst smack him in the back of the head lightly.
"No. We're here to take you in, Messenger, and we would appreciate it if you would come quietly."
"Hmm... I think not." Blind responded, firing a ball of dark energy at the two. Experiment dodged to the right while Kevin to the left as it exploded, tendrils ripping outward and pulling random furniture into it.
Experiment glanced over to Kevin, who was having trouble with his Energy-Bands. They were shimmering with the green and blue lights, but every few seconds, they would shut down, and he would have to smack it.
Experiment sighed, leaping over his cover, spines at the ready. He was FINALLY going to get--
A ball of pure energy smacked into his armoured chest, sending him colliding into a wooden box, and therefore, into unconsciousness.
"...Crap." Kevin muttered, glaring at his Energy-Bands, which had gone off without warning. John was teleported away, Messenger chuckling as he disappeared also.
"0WN3D~!" The dark servant yelled right behind Kevin, disappearing as a fistful of energy attempted to strike him.
--------------------------------
"...Mff...." Experiment groaned, his eyes opening ever so slightly, looking out into a cave filled with rooms. Every room had a magical force-field around the door, shutting the inmates in.
Or, they would, if he weren't the only inmate.
"Ah, you are awake!" Blind called, causing 2.0 to look up. Blind Messenger was staring... Well, actually, he was staring at an empty cell. 2.0 waited a few moments, and Blind repeated what he had said earlier.
D4rk S3rv4nt, meanwhile, floated to Experiment's cell. "S0rry 'b0ut him. H3 n3v3r w4z v3ry g00d at t3h wh0le 's33ing' th1ng." he apologized in his own special way. He then surrounded Blind's head, allowing the Necromancer to see. He peered around to spot 2.0 raising an eyebrow in the cell three stones down.
"...Ah. Well... Aha! You're awake!" she shouted again, this time actually looking at Experiment, and KNOWING he was awake, "I have been awaiting this day! The day I trap the 'genius' known as Experiment 2.0 in a cave that he has no way out of! For you see, hero, nothing but a form covered in darkness can exit out of these cells!"
"...Really? That's all?" Experiment asked, standing and shrugging. He concentrated for a moment before a cloud of glittering darkness covered him. He stepped out of the forcefield, and grinned as he turned to Messenger. "Wow. That WAS all!"
"...You... Have dark powers?"
"Yeppers, and you are screwed!" Experiment cheerily replied, spines extracting from his wrists quickly. "C'mere!"
-------------------------------
After a brief fight and a few shouts of 'D4t 0wnz3d.' and 'AAH!!! NOT THE FACE! NOT MY BEAUTIFUL, SKELETAL FACE!!!', Blind was being transported to the Ziggursky Prison, D4rk S3rv4nt was sent hovering toward the prison to free him, and Experiment dusted his hands off.
However, stepping out of the 'Hall of pretty lights,' as he called it, had him face-to-face with Kevin.
"Ah, Kev-o! Where didja go? I wanted to beat your face in!" Experiment said, a little too cheerily.
"Your friend is quite 'in-the-dark' right now, hero. I have control of his body, and now, you will die for trying to destroy me!" Kevin spoke, his voice raspy and ghostly.
"Hmm... You can't be that annoying smokey thing... You aren't speaking in a different language... N0 m4tt3r H0W 1337 it iz... And you can't be Blind, because A; He isn't a ghost, and B; he is not as smart-sounding as you..." Experiment appraised, only to hear the one controlling his sidekick sigh.
"Read upward, heathen."
"...^.>" Experiment... Uh... Did? The ghost was kind of creeped out how one eye managed to point up while he kept another eye on him, but he quickly forgot it. "Ah, a ghost..."
"Yes."
"K."
With that, shadows covered Experiment's fists, slamming them into the teen's stomach. The ghost instantly was thrown from the body, the dark power shoving him out. Although, Experiment didn't REALLY have to punch... He just wanted to.
"Ooow...." Kevin groaned, trying to sit up.
"Nuh-uh, Kev," Jenny scolded, pushing him back down. A sickening, quiet crunch echoed in Kevin's ears, but it seemed nobody else heard it. After he didn't rise (Not by choice), Jenny smiled. "Good boy. Now, you sit here and regain your strength. I'll be back with your juice later."
As Jenny left, John peeked in. "Hey, you okay there, kid?"
He walked in, raising an eyebrow as Keving didn't reply. Of course, it is kind of hard to reply when your lungs feel like they were crushed. (They would find out later than Jenny's over-average strength from hanging out with John in heroing a lot had caused his lungs to only be SLIGHTLY damaged. So little so, in fact, he would be fine.
...In a few months.)
"Listen, kid, sorry about punching you and stuff... I really didn't mean to cause you to need a transfusion, and several tens of stitches. The spine ACCIDENTLY shot out." Experiment apologized... In HIS own little way, only to have Kevin groan his response. 2.0 took it as forgiveness. "So, did you want anything when I go to the store?"
Kevin groaned once again, and John took that to mean 'No thanks, John ol' buddy ol' pal, I really think you deserve to get yourself something for trying to save my life. I know for a fact that you wouldn't REALLY try to hurt me, even if I AM dating your little sister, and, even though I am, in your mind, nowhere NEAR good enough for her, and you hide it, I thank you immensely for giving me a chance to 'get with her.''
Then, of course, Experiment got angry at Kevin for EVER saying that, and the poor kid got punched in the stomach again. -
((*/deepbow* */deepbow*. Yes, that is my only addition to this thread other than my posts.
Y'know people, just count yourself lucky my last post for the second Scenario was lost. It had Bill, the gender-confused guard, an annoying co-worker, and even more sibling idiocy between Jenny and John Fisher... Ballard. Same thing.)) -
Footsteps echoed through the building, mold and structural damage evident as the cloaked figure moved. The hood over his covered eyesockets was pulled down so far, it seemed anybody with normal sight would not be able to see.
Then again, Blind Messenger never was one for being normal. Especially in this situation.
For quite a while now, Blind Messenger, Dr. Shimmer, and Experiment 3.0 had been on the same team, aiming to destroy Experiment 2.0 with their combined forces. However, lately, the armoured hero had been able to halt every plan the three had come up with and put into action.
Tension was beginning to grow, to say the least.
Blind opened a door, which immediately fell forward, throwing a cloud of dust upward. The necromancer sighed, bending over, picking up the door, and placing it back in the doorway. He continued walking, dusting his cloak off as he went. He peered through the crumbling walls, barely seeing glowing red lights similar to that of robotics.
"He-lloooo Shim-Shim!" Blind yelled, stepping through the wall. A few Protector Drones turned toward him, the protective red glow not leaving their scanning eyes. "...Wow, you guys look pretty creepy... Hey, Shimmer, you wanna come out here and tell your little minion-things to stand down?"
"No, I don't think so." a cold voice spoke from a floating screen. The Protector's vision shut off, simply scanning for the entity Blind Messenger so as not to capture any footage of Shimmer. "You see, I am tired of aiding you in your insignificant little magical explorations, and recieving no satisfaction in return, vis a vis, Experiment 2.0's death."
Blind looked at the screen for a moment, seemingly raising an eyebrow if it weren't for the fact that his head was skeletal, and chuckled slightly. "That's pretty funny, Shim-Shim, but we all know you can't lose an amazing asset like me, so why don'tcha call them off and we can have a nice cup of strained blood?"
"Hehe... Funny little man, aren't you?" A few combat Battle Drones then fell through the roof, capsules releasing. "Unfortunately for you, funny isn't good enough."
With that, the 'bots began firing, the lasers cutting right through the necromancer's form like a knife through butter.
However, the cloaked form simply began chuckling again. "Bad move, geek..." With that, the skeletal form exploded in darkness, tendrils lashing out and pulling various robotic minions into a portal of doom. The limbs of the bots were ripped from their bodies, and their bodies ripped in half then.
"...I should have assumed that would happen. It ALWAYS happens. Okay, close every entry to the building."
The building's doors were instantly sealed by forcefields, just as the real Blind Messenger got to the front door. "Damn." he muttered, glancing around quickly and spotting a few more battle drones crashing through the roof again. He fired a skull-spell, disintegrating the first drone it hit. Next, he threw a cloud of darkness up to the next floor.
Rolling backward, the capsules barely missed smashing him into the ground. However, after release, two undead Knights jumped down after them, slashing wildly. The robots blocked the blades easily before the second blade on each sword shot out, hitting each drone in the head.
However, the zombies were quickly destroyed by a flash of light known as a Photon Grenade from the rifle of the Assault Prototype MK III drone. Blind went reeling, the light not only blinding him, but also dissipating the dark essence within him temporarily. He groaned, looking up as much as he could, only to see darkness.
"Subject: Blind Messenger. Performance: Disgusting. Purpose: Idiocy. Cure: Death." the MK III unit spoke, aiming the rifle at Blind's skull. Right before he was able to fire, however, a blast of dark energy sent the drone into an already damaged wall, causing it to collapse. A bunch of debris covering the Assault Drone, Blind began assaulting the pile with balls of dark energy until the field began shimmering weaker and weaker.
Eventually, the force-field was deactivated, allowing the necromancer to run outside. However, a cloud of dark energy appeared, pulling him behind a building quickly. "N00b. J00 alm0st go7 j00rs3lf n0tic3d by t3h 3v1l b0tz. H4ng h3r3 for a m1nut3." it said sagely, the smokey form gazing around at the surroundings.
The blue eyes in the cloud went up and down, signifying a safe nod as Blind dashed across the abandoned King's Row street. A quick glance showed three Assault Drones scanning thre streets, awaiting Messenger's arrival.
A few words of incantation...
...And nothing happened. He grunted in annoyance, speaking the same words. The dark servant simply sighed. "War-walls. Can't get to the Rogue Isles like that."
"Great." Blind muttered, putting away a newly retrieved scroll. He glanced upward, only to see a red and white flyer overhead. "...Longbow. Crap."
"Yeah, they look 1337." the servant mused, floating around pretty happily.
Blind glanced around, eyeing the walls for any sign of weakness. The only 'sign of weakness' was a door guarded by PPD security. He groaned. "Great, how am I supposed to get past them?"
As if on cue, three battle drones landed in front of the guards. They fired their rifles, the leader calling in for backup. Two Longbow Eagles came flying down, blasting the drones into oblivion. They organized to hang out as cover for a while. Blind groaned again.
"D0n't worry, I g0t th1s." the servant assued him. With that, he flew forward. Tendrils of darkness whipped out, slashing the Eagles' jetpacks from their backs. They then retaliated, pulling their rifles from their backs. Firing their bullets into the dark cloud caused it's essence to fade slightly. Skulls and blasts of darkness fired toward the guards while the dark servant took down the Longbow, forcing them to retreat, picking their jetpacks up and blasting off.
Blind, meanwhile, was causing the guards the guards to see their greatest fears.
"No!!! Don't hurt my little girl! NOOO!!!!!!" the leader screamed, seeing his six-year-old daughter having her throat cut open by a terrifyingly strong Skull. It seemed his family had been killed by a group of the thugs.
"Oh my god! MOM?! NO!!!!" The other guard's fear...
"Mom and Dad?! EW!!! OHMIGOD!!!!"
...You don't wanna know.
Blind dashed through as the guards were pulled into a dark abyss by some fearsome tentacles, flying through the Siren's Call area on a shadowy platform until he finally reached the entryway.
---------------------------
Blind finally sat down at his mystical desk, sighing.
"Well, that was... Fun?"
"T'was 1337." the Dark Servant corrected, floating down a hall.
"Fine. It was leet."
"1337. Difference." -
Experiment: ...Hal is a thing! Haha! I now have something ELSE to laugh about rather than those two's weird--
Jenny: *SMACK*
Yeah... I would say there is no law apart from the basic things Khell mentioned.
Although, I doubt all of those ten year old kids have schools. I mean, I see them out all the time! If they have school, it must be very short.
Like them.
A black suit crouched quickly behind a large trash disposal unit, his head peeking around to see his enemies' positions. He scoped them out quickly, and glanced around at his surroundings. He spotted one of the few lights in the alley, a low-beam security light, and threw a well-aimed spike into the bulb.
The men instantly aimed their guns at the sound, most releasing thier safeties. An angry mutter, and the new guys did too.
The head troop turned on his flashlight, looking around the dark area, only to have it smashed from his hand by yet another spine. He aimed his gun upward, firing randomly. His troops followed. They never heard each back troop being knocked out and pulled away quietly before the leader of the small group was knocked unconscious.
The figure stood, three blue lights on his head signifying night vision goggles. He pulled them off, and his mask went with it.
"Wow," Experiment muttered, "similiar scenarios are a LOT harder in Splinter Cell."
He shrugged, pulling the mask and goggles back on, and beginning to climb a pipe. On the roof, he made sure that no guards had decided to be smart and get posted there, and made his way to the hatch on the roof. There was ALWAYS a hatch on the roof.
After a little searching, he pulled it up, peering in. He caught sight of a good vantage point, dropping down onto a support beam near the roof. He quietly closed the upper door, and surveyed the area.
After waiting for a few minutes to scope out each guard and his patrol route, Experiment shimmied along every edge, only slipping once on rat 'leavings.'
He spotted the safe directly below, and pulled a small device from his belt. He sprayed it, and nothing happened. "Ugh... Was hoping to do a little 'mission impossible.'" he sighed, putting away the Infrared Detecting Spray. He still pulled out a zip-line and began his descent, but it just didn't feel as cool without a ton of lasers.
He stopped right at the safe, glancing around quickly before sliding a spike into the lock. He pulled it out just as quickly, the door opening as the lock came out. However, now his spike was stuck to the lock, and it was also inside the door. He frowned, trying to pull it back out, the lock simply clanging quietly on the side of the safe. He sighed, dropping the spine into his other hand and putting it on the ground. He reached in...
...And pulled out an original, huge grey Gameboy. He hugged it close, stroking the cartridge holder. While he was whispering something about 'never losing his baby again,' an attention-grabbing cough from behind made the hero raise an eyebrow. He thought for a moment, swinging absently in mid-air before grabbing the side of the safe and swinging himself around to see.
The leader of the establishment, and thief of Experiment's first Gameboy, stood with his hands on his hips, glaring at the heroic taker-backer.
"...Uh... Ninja-poof!"
With that, Experiment threw a flash grenade from his belt onto the ground, blinding the boss as he hit a switch on the same belt. He was pulled quickly back up to his device, detatching it and jumping out of the hatch.
He activated his jets and began on his way home, hugging the big, clunky hand-held gamesystem all the way home. -
Aah... SWG Creature Handlers... I used to have a Carrion Spat called Pauly that followed me everywhere... We were best buds...
At the Ballard Residence, Emma and Anthony Ballard continued watching the television, as they did every friday. Since their retirement from heroing, they had nothing to do. They did not need jobs because of the Hero Retirement Plan, and they did not need to go shopping because of the Hero Retirement Plan Personal Robo-Butler their son John had created. The only thing they really needed to do was common housework and sometimes repairs, which were rather easy with Anthony's super speed.
In all honesty, they had pretty boring lives. The only times Emma even had to use her psychic powers any more was when Jenny or John were talking to them. They ALWAYS lied about their hero work. Emma still had no idea why, because, honestly, they should know that their own mother was psychic.
However, the Pay-Per-View movie they were watching (Some Star Trek movie. Don't ask me. I think Anthony is a complete dork personally.) was interrupted by an incoming news announcement. Apparently, a hidden sniper had shot Kevin... Something. The reporter didn't know the last name. The family, however, recognized his face. He was the teen that Experiment was teaching to be a hero.
"...Couldn't John just heal him?" Emma asked, having sighed in relief from the movie interruption.
"I don't know... If he could, he would have... I think something is wrong." Anthony replied, standing. However, Emma immediately flew upward and aimed her right hand toward the wall behind her chair, but about half a second too late. The wall exploded inward, debris smashing into Anthony's back, causing him to dash forward and turn, holding his back in pain.
A large robot set down in the building, aiming a large, pulsing rifle at the parents of its master's nemesis. Anthony Ballard prepared to strike at the robot while Emma readied herself to find its creator, but they were interrupted when three Seeker Drones uncloaked in mid air and flew at them. Two of them circled Anthony, breaking his attention from one to the other, causing him to lose his target over and over again, while one simply circled Emma's head noisily, causing her to lose her concentration.
"I'll go with him." Jenny decided, jumping into the back of the newly arrived ambulance. Experiment simply nodded, giving the medics the thumbs up as they closed the door. The vehicle drove quickly, alarm blaring as it began exiting the district. Suddenly, a resounding smash caused the ambulance to flip, landing on its roof.
The alarm died, the medics falling unconscious from the fall. Jenny rubbed her head in annoyance, moving to make sure Kevin was alright. He groaned, but it seemed he hadn't been injured. She opened her cell phone again, calling for an ambulance and a tow-truck this time.
However, when she opened the doors to see out, she was immediately pulled out and knocked to the ground hard. She flipped up onto her feet, and turned. In front of her were two blue robots, arms twisting and backs pulsating. "...Okay... What the heck are you?"
"Units MC 1 and MC 2 were informed of your involvement in the hero Experiment 2.0's family. Units MC 1 and MC 2 were ordered to take you to our leader. Come peacefully, human." was the first robot's reply.
Jenny growled, flinging a ball of dark energy forward. It hit MC 2 square in the chest, but MC 1 shot forward, slamming his spinning fists into Jenny's stomach. She fell back, turning to the side as she fell so the puke didn't choke her. However, another hit to the back of the head caused darkness.
----------------------------------
Experiment gave the medics a thumbs up as they closed the door, Jenny holding Kevin's hand as they began driving away. He walked into the Paragon City Times building, missing the sound of a crash.
He entered the elevator and began going upward. It stopped on the eighteenth floor.
"...Bah, always gets stuck there." He muttered, hitting the 100 button again. The elevator restarted, taking its jolly old time. If anyone really payed attention to the speed that the numbers went up on the elevator usually, they would most likely wonder how on earth John Ballard ever got to work on time.
The elevator finally opened on the one-hundredth floor, letting John out. He went to the first window he saw and made himself look dramatic. However, that was quickly stopped as three small robots smashed through said window, sending the hero flying back. They stopped and landed as Experiment stood. They came up to his waist. He chuckled as he threw a spine at the one on the far right.
The spine slammed into it as it looked down. The bot pulled it from its chest, and flung it right back. 2.0 gasped and ducked, the spine barely missing his head. He dusted his arms as his armour covered him. "Alright then, let's try this a different way... Can't catch me!"
With that, he ducked back into the elevator, the doors closing on the bots.
He chuckled again, praising himself for his intelligence... Before the elevator jerked. He looked up at the top of the 'vator before jetting up and out of the trap hatch. He got out just as the drones finished cutting the wire and the elevator began smashing down the shaft. He sighed. "That cost about three hundred dollars, [censored]." he muttered, flying up to meet the drones head on.
