Wow... I am impressed by Dual Blades... They look [bleeping] amazing!

This whole thing is an incredibly one-sided way of looking at the issue. People are allowed to agree completely for absolutely no reason reason whatsoever, but they are not allowed to disagree for no reason. They HAVE to have a reason to disagree or they're unconstructive.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but how many "/yes" responses have single-handedly generated pages upon pages of reportable posts?
This whole thing caters to the thin-skinned.
I'm not saying I agree with the new ruleset (mostly because I think it'll solve nothing and create more drama), but that is partially how I interpret the reasoning for its existence. -

I think a lesson has just been learned.
We need actual people deciding what is or isn't in line.. not a robotic system calling all the shots.
[/ QUOTE ]
I, for one, welcome our shot-calling robotic system overlords. -

Positron lied to us. This update contains two things players have been asking for since essentially the beginning of the game, not one. We get both Flashback and weapon customization!
I have emerged from my hole to say that I approve of Issue 11 and am as giddy as a schoolgirl.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hahahaha...
Actually Weapon Customization made the feature list AFTER I made the original "something you've been asking for" post, where I was referring to Flashback. (We had players in the CoH beta test asking for a way to go back and do the story arcs of the Contacts they skipped).
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah but what about powers without weapons? I'm trying to get my GF interested in the game and she's [censored] about how non weapon users dont get power customizations. Which IS true. When will they get customizations? I'm happy with the weapon customizations as I use characters who use weapons but she really doesnt. She does think the time travel thing is cool. As do I. Easier to get accolade badges now. More nifty powers for me:-p
[/ QUOTE ]
Baby steps, man! Baby steps!
When speaking of "unfairness," keep in mind that not every set will benefit from all the time/energy/resources that will have to be spent on all-around power customization either. Melee in particular. Super Strength and Martial Arts come to mind. Stone Melee and Spines as well, most likely.
This is a fact most people seem to ignore when this topic comes up. -

I can see you guys have been busy. The flashback system and the weapon choice changes are very welcome. I am sure they will be hugely popular and have been waited for a long time. Thanks
New inventions for the missing sets, great.
New uber rare recipes that require nothing but rare salvage--that sucks and smells of moneysink plan. This will not solve this problem. It already sucks that the invention system puts level 30 characters in competition with wealthy 45-50 characters that can generate influence at a much greater rate. Its pretty clear that the low level recipes are not worth the electrons and time spent collecting them...wish more tweaking of the invention system was on tap. There are clearly some huge inequities in the market system. What is very clear now is if you don't have the time to spend several hours doing task forces, your shot at obtaining a rare and valued recipe is now pretty small untill you can reach the upper 40s where you can influence farm. Since I have only gotten one level B reward for mission completion after doing many many missions, perhaps that could be fixed?
Maybe one days you guys will understand rare=low probabilty in an MMO is a bad idea. It just encourages farming and rewards time sink playing not accomplishment. It is not distinquishing mark of a veteran but luck + time spent.
if you want rare to be meaningful you limit the amount of copies. Then it is rare....and meaningful.
I think folks are going a bit overboard on this is the best issue since sliced bread. Any nerfs coming with this issue? Will MoG be changed? Will it be easier to get around Perez Park? What are the plans for under utilized zones. I tell you what, you start creating 1.5 hour task forces in the underutized zones, that require only 4 teammembers that mix in instanced and non-instanced content and you might solve two problems at once.

Sounds like this guy has it out for you.
-
Yeah, I've had that happen a few times too. I really don't pay attention to it though. In a room where 20k people are all going in different directions, you can't get too annoyed or your brain will asplode.

I didn't get a chance to get any sketches or meet any red name NCSoft reps, but I did score a free CoV cape... mwuahaha

No kidding! Too late for a last minute gathering I assume?

I'll definitely be there as well. Might even bust out a ProcessedMeat name tag hehe

Did you know that the late game Tyrant mission was once in a generic cave?
[/ QUOTE ]
Did you also know that in the original Tyrant Mission, If you were able to fast track with invis powers. States would be chained up at the end overtop of tyrants Throne, and if you freed him, you could then lead him to the exit and watch states hit Mobs for 4000 dmg a hit!!
Seeing how much damage that is, people would SK lowbies into the mission, stealth through to Tyrant, defeat him, then Let the newly Released Statesman powerlevel the group by owning everything in the face. Hence why Statesman was removed from the Mission.
sometimes I wish they'd bring States bake and just remove any exp from kills he got. I didn't care about the exp, I just had fun watching statesman KO blow someone through the roof and see more damage than a brute with full fury
[/ QUOTE ]
I recall there being no Statesman at all in this mission until about Issue 3 or 4...
[/ QUOTE ]
I just did this a few days ago and Statesy is there alright, and once you free him if you hang around for a few minutes an ambush spawn shows up and you get to see him do a 4000 dam KO Blow. And he will follow you, but only to a point -- he gets stuck in the mud on the way out of Tyrant's throne room; no way to get him to fight for you past that.
But it was definitely cool seeing him in action, if just for a little bit. I must admit tho, I expected him to be taller
[/ QUOTE ]
Well... I mean that the mission had no, as in zero, Statesman NPC, when Issue One came out. You entered the mission and defeated Tyrant and that was it. There was no NPC to free or even see. IIRC, there was a clicky thing that "freed" Statesman, but that was it.
At least this is what I recall... I'm not 100% on this though. -

Great guide! I'm working on one for my Ice/EM Tank... taking me longer than I thought though. Your input has helped a bunch
I gotta ask... maybe I'm just tired and can't think straight (it is 2:30am right now), but how are you getting 287% total regen? I'm doing the math in my tired brain and I'm not getting nearly that much. Could you break it down? What could I be missing?
The total I get is 187%... is that extra 100 base character regen? -
Weird... he sent me the response for some reason. It said "He didn't die? Damn."
-
Vengeance was fixed to not stack some time ago. You complainers have already missed your window of opportunity for this. Seriously. People are using work-arounds and "exploits" (I use that word loosely) to get around the fix. This too will be fixed.
This thread was over before it began. Srsly. -

You're not a badger or you'd know how difficult and challenging that truly is.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sleeping while your computer runs overnight is "difficult and challenging"?
I think you meant "time-consuming and inane."
[/ QUOTE ]
To each its own. To the others its known, but neither care to listen.
[/ QUOTE ]
Other than a handful of arguable TF and GM badges, I fail to see how badges could be classified as "difficult." Certainly not in the sense that PvP is difficult.
As a recovered badge collector with ~360 badges on my main, I can honestly say that Vae_Victus is pretty much spot on. There is nothing at all challenging or difficult about badge collecting.
Hold that thought... pillbox badges might be in this category, seeing how you're subject to PvP to get them. Maybe even the Warburg nuke badge. That's about it. -
Yes.
*As a side survey Anouke, I'd be interested to see what percentage of those polled were completely incapable of following your simple directions. My post included, of course -
Hey Scrap, this information is priceless, honestly. Thanks a lot for taking the time to think this stuff out.
That said, I encourage you (or maybe a Mod) to organize this stuff and post it in the Guides section so we don't lose it! Assuming you do more of them -

Wow, DDO got hammered.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cause DDO isnt that good. I beta'd it. I went live with it. I tried to like it . . . it didnt work out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same, only I didn't beta it. I cancelled my billing on it before completing the first month that was included in the box.
I wanted to like it, I did. But the controls turned me off within the first 20 minutes, and the gameplay made me want to throw it in the garbage. I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did playing it.
[/ QUOTE ]
My favorite thing about DDO was the combat system. I loved being able to swing a weapon and hit monsters without actually having to target anything. Being able to dodge arrows was pretty sweet too.
Everything else mentioned about the game is what drove me to quit though. lack of soloability, lack of a "world" feel, repetitious dungeons, horrid teams... the game still has so much potential, but it will never be realized -

I take credit for the mistake, but blame the fact-checker for being sick that day.
I think I can now safely say that I have forgotten more about this game than most will ever know, and I proved it.

You know, I wish more folks could turn what might be viewed as a negative experience into a positive one. The world would be a happier place.

I agree as well. It's just unfortunate that some members of our lil community will only use this as ammunition. =\ -
Or apply the "defeat all in the room" code to it.
