One thing that is slightly puzzling is didnt you see me and others on our team shouting random stuff up on broadcast? Or... did you just think it was another sign of your slightly loopy team mates??

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep I did. And yes I thought it somewhat strange - but I put broadcast only in the smaller part of my chat window, and usually pay very little attention to it. Towards the end of last nights session I scrolled back up through it and only then realised that all the names I saw were hero names.

By and large if something doesn't make sense to me I just ignore it and carry on. Ignorance is bliss as they say.
*Disclaimer: When this approach is used with women it must be combined with copious amounts of nodding, smiling, and rembering the last sentance they said *
  2. I think I remember that. I get tped foed and next thing I see a stalker standing in front of me saying "Mercy" in local (the only place I could see villain chat).
Good thing you made me laugh or you might not have got away

It reminds me of the signature of one of my SG friends (taken from an excellent, yet short lived series)

Mercy is the mark of a great man *stab*
Maybe I'm just a good man... *stab*
    Well I'm okay..
  3. Hey All,
This is directed at all those I've encountered in my occasional (yet increasingly frequent) visits to Sirens and Warburg. I'm pretty new to this whole PvP business, and not that long in the Paragon either to be honest, but it had struck me how all the villains seemed to be so quiet in the zones.

Fair enough I thought, maybe I just happen to be there when the more quiet PvPers are about. Then last night as I was leaving Sirens, which had been quite busy, it struck me that surely no crowd of people that size could say absolutely nothing while the heoroes babbled away in a seemingly one-sided conversation.

Sure enough, as I checked down through the options to see if anything was amiss I see the options to hide villain broadcast and private messages enabled. Doh.

So if any of you have said anything to me and been ignored, I'm very sorry. I had no idea this option was even there, let alone enabled by default. And I've corrected it now, so I'll be able to hear your gloating as I'm repeatedly ganked and one-shotted but keep coming back for more
  4. I havent played a Grav, but my main is /rad and can testify to the usefullness of powers mentioned in PvE and PvP.

But since you don't want to respec, you can probably manage to hold your own at least against certain ATs with the right approach.
IMO you should swap one of those recharges in AM for an end modification and also maybe 2 of the flight speeds in fly for end reductions. Then stay in fly and invis/stealth as much as possible, and most importantly keep moving. This way you'll be less of a target for stalkers. You'll occasionally be dropped out of the air by that spines stalker immob - but that would probably be a good time to use phase shift and watch him try to AS you

Then you'll need to pick your targets - namely squishies with no mezz protection - corrupters/doms/MMs, you may even be able to stack holds on the occasional staker if you can see them long enough, but you'd probably need to swap at least one damage from grav distortion for a recharge.
Also the -fly from crush could help with your damage by dropping those high-flyers right to the ground - and if your lucky and they're high enough and squishy enough the DOT will finish them off - so your very own one-shot (highly situational of course)

wormhole also has some potential but UMMV.

Of course this is all just my opinion, based mainly on a reasonable amount of time in sirens - and there are plenty of more experienced players out there who'll probably have better advice for you.

    hey fellow defiant heroes ^^
im an avid badge collector(saying that.. ive only got like 126 >&lt and i love my GM hunting.. but i have 4 left.
    kraken
    jurrasik
    sally
    paladin

i was wondering if anyone would like to join as a team(or 2) to help me finish these guys off. thanks in advance

Forming pre-emptive teams for these will most likely prove futile. I remember camping in Kings with another badger trying to get Knight Errant. Around 4 hours later we realised what a bad idea this was. Then a few days later after exiting a mish in Kings there was a "Oh look, paladin contruction site is here" message in broadcast. The people there took some convincing that you had to stop his construction to get the badge, but it all worked out in the end .

You need to be in the right place at the right time for these. I usually have a quick look in if I'm in a zone with a GM spawn and I'll say it on DefiantBadgers if I see anything (where I'm pretty sure I've seen you).
As for Sally, shes pretty appears pretty regularly, but one hit's enough to make her submerge and I've seen plenty of people just one-shot her on the way past without even hesitating.

Hmmm then i must be something wrong, since my Illu/rad seems to do worse than my fire/ff in PvP.. prolly bad slotting then... Now that i managed to kick some regens butt, a fire/kins hit me even on my ID... and whats worse, an invul/ss tank did that later (OMG!).. nevertheless I revenged with my fire/ff later

    [/ QUOTE ]
You prolly are, its a very rare day if I loose on my ill / rad. Ill take on your fire / ff anyday if your up for it, with my ill / rad troller. Just have to be on test server cause right now Im running a pure PvE build.
Btw ice / kins are also very nice for 1 on 1 pvp, except against defence sets or sets with good tohit buffs like rad.

Just want to add to earler suggestions - you'll probably get more milage from swift+hurdle+stamina rather than (swift/hurdle)+health+stamina.
A slightly higher regen won't save you're bacon half as well as getting out of Dodge ASAP. It'll also make you highly mobile together with combat jumping. With radiant aura available and slotted I really don't see much need for Health.

I went this way with my ill/rad and have been very happy with it so far.

Sounds like a fun idea. If someones trying this out sometime send me a tell (Proc - currently lev 34 Ill/Rad). Anybody know how many stacked AMs it takes to get perma-PA? *imagines the possible carnage caused by 24 indestructible pets on an all Ill/Rad team*
