honestly, if the city and isles wer'ent filled with so many big empty generic buildings, and had lots of small empty shops and whatnot, it'd be cool, lots of tiny spots to hang and RP and such, but that's asking for too much I suppose.

My mutant Hero, Duality(need a better name) would be interested, he's very serious about mutant rights and whatnot.

I would love to see red only zones, blue only zones, and grey(purple?) zones in GR. Especialy if they're not nightclubs or bars like Pocket D, as a lot of characters would'nt hang in them for various reasons. This would take a commitment by the playerbase though, like a petition that says "I'd be willing to hang/RP there" which woul in turn, enocurage others who ar'ent on the forums to go, as they'd go, see the population, and stay.

Of course that sounds like a lot of work, and we know how much we all like work. :P

so, some details.

Rumble is a kid who grew up in paragon city idolizing the heroes of Paragon, and generally bugging them with his overactive enthusiasm and cheeryness. He frequently followed them into their adventures, usually just to watch, but sometimes he got in the way and had to be saved.

He knew a super-scientist in his neighborhood whom he also constantly pestered who had invented a device which created short range shockwaves via concentratd vibrations. Unfortunately, the device, orginally designed for powered armor, would crush the bones of anyone attemtping to use it bare handed. So, poor Mario(rumble) was left with no superheroing.

Luckily, there were people attempting to create their own project, a Procedure similar to Captain America's Supersoldier serum that would grant it's recipient maxed out physical abilites, and even push into the super-human category. Unfortunately, Rumble is fifteen, and him volunteering to be the guinea pig was'nt gonna fly.

Fortunately, Rumble is kinda crazy and stubborn, being fifteen and obsessed with being a superhero, so he pestered the scientists by camping out in front of their labs and blasting bad pop music all day and night. They eventually caved, giving him the treatment, which allowed him to use the Shockwave Vibration gauntlets without destroying his arms (at the lower settings) and he began fighting crime

Rumble's a hyper-active, over eager kid, who may not be a super genius, but is not a brute, he might be an idiot, but he's the good kind of idiot, the kind who might accidentally make things worse while trying to help, and gets bored with long post like this :P. Naive idealistic optimist with a strong will is the best way to describe him.

He's overly friendly and cheery, and that sometimes lends itself to making mistakes. He idolizes superheroes, particularly the ones in his City, Statesman, Positron, Synapse,Citadel, Manticore (all one named heroes).

He's also the kind of guy who would revel in his superheroic identiy and would probably yell his name all the time.
If I could I would have put an exclamation point at the end of the name instead of the barely noticeable period and considered it a bonus and even more in line with the kind of name he'd give himself.

All of this brings back to the character, an amped up, simple kid. What kind of name would he give himself? something obviously based on his powers, as that's usually the way. Something cool, he's a pretty modern kid, and lives in paragon, so something with one to three syllables, usually one word is cool, but he's not "grrr grimdark", so nothing like "BONECRUSHER" He might give himself a title, Like Reckless Rumbler, but his personality lends itself to that title getting more words every time he says it, so anything besdes the built in title system, which is superlfluous to the actual naming of the character, and changes at regular intervals(or all the time once you hit fifty) would best represent titles when/if he used them.

The gauntlets make noise when he uses them. And they shake his body everytime as well. They rumble his bones, they make a humming, rumbling sound. If he activates them while pressing them against something, it shakes and rumbles.

Not whining, again, just because I'm debating, which Is something enjoy doing when done reasonably, does'nt mean I'm being a big baby, and what I was arguing in the first place is that people who call players who use punctuation or some such to use the characater name they want lazy or unimaginative were'tn being fair. and once again.
You can't copyright basic verbs or nouns. There are probably characters named Zoom in this game, because it's a generic word. The reason the particular name being used in this discussion is'nt available to me is probably(not going to say for sure unless a dev puts in word) not due to copyright issues,because it's a commonly used word, but because someone else has it.

This has what bearing on what I said?
If I wanted that name, I would pick it, but I should'nt be forced to pick it, and I should'nt be insulted if I decide to tweak a name I want slightly with punctuation or some such because I was forced not to take the name I choose.

I can bet you if I went and published a story with someone named Donald who had absolutely nothing to do with ducks or speech impediments, Disney would'nt give a damn about it.
I'm not whining, the only thing I was saying is that people who feel annoyed that their names are taken, and put in periods and such ar'ent unoriginal, just being forced to do what they can to keep their original concept.

I am offering up the fact that I'm using a name in a creative way ,subtle, multifacted character aspects, to say that the Character is not simply a clone of this or that, or a one-off name I pulled out of my butt, but an inherent part of the concept, the creativity of which is debatable. What I was saying, is me not getting the right name and having to do something else with it is not me being uncreative, but Just someone else being creative in a different way that, unfortunately limits my options.

So what I'm saying is that there are no "new" ideas under the sun, just new ways of putting them together, and that's pretty debateable. To say that someone putting together ideas, and then being displeased that an integral part of that idea is unavailable because someone else put that part together with something else is uncreative is unfair to them.

I mean, sure, we'll be seeing plenty of super-dudes running around, and that'll suck, but we get that now, people making crappy copies of existing characters will find their ways to do it. But people trying to express themselves with multiple different ideas being limited because other people had one element of their idea is unfair.

As for Solutions, I'd like to see the use of Name color for other players, I already use it in my chat window. If we could have the invisible character number thing, then have the character name colors change when multiple people with the same name were in the same zone, that'd work, there are other technical aspects involved, the afore mentioned tell and invtie issues, but it's workable.

I would Imagine a simple solution would be that if you go all the way in one direction, you'd get dropped, but until then, or if you stay in the middle, you'd stay with your group.That'd make sense functionally and RP-wise once you go full hero, you'd be stuck in paragon, would have functionally betrayed your friends, and rarely be able to play with your VG, barring co-op zones it'd be pretty useless to stay in a VG you could'nt really play with. But if you're a hero and go vigilante, you're still mostly a hero, you shop in paragon, get most of your missions in paragon, you pretty much only visit the Rogue isles, and even then, only to stop evil. It would make sense for your SG to still keep you, and just not like how you do things, and frequently give you crap about it. Examples being Wolverine, Batman, Manticore, Lady Liberty's Longbow, and Justice League Unlimited's Question.

It's important to remember that Dark Costume=/= dark character

Eh, those sound kind of silly, if you ask me, and while he's a silly character, personality wise, That's a bit much.
And the name is Rumble, not Rumbles, I'm saying the name that belongs to Rumble (Rumble's name) was taken.
And honestly, That just sounds like adding junk letters or symbols again.

My character Rumble's
Name both describes his Vibration-related powers and his use of them in a fisticuffs style combat and tendency to always get in brawls.

I could go a-searching for synonyms for "Vibrate" or "shake" but it'd lose the fighting connotations. I could go looking for synonyms for "Fight" or "brawl" but it would probably lose the Vibrational connotations. So I'm stuck with putting Junk (I used a period) at the end of my name to use it, or I could scrap the character altogether.
It's not a crazily overused name,(as far as I know) and it's not intended as a copy of an existing character. It's just a name I want to use, and I can't use it unscarred because it's taken by someone else, who might also be using it creatively.

Honestly,when I re-summon pets mid-fight, they don't get upgraded till things calm down. It's usually teir 1s, and their most useful regular attack is pre upgrade. The buffs are'nt Necessary to combat, just essential, like fitness and leadership in most builds.If I'm in the thick of things and fighting, I need my endurance, and they'll get by fine without their buffs and mitigate aggro/kill like they should without them too.
