Happy Birthday, Bayani!
*checks out that cake...*
-
Hehehee...thank you both! You know I'm much more of a lurker than poster, but I do thank you.
I appreciate your comment, Caemgen, and I'll treasure your "birthday card" doodle
And CR, thanks again. I do like this...sometimes I like it rough sketchy-ish[BTW CR had a blanket permission from a private conversation way-back-when.]
Now, on to celebrating 10.10.10...or 42 day! -
Sadly, I'll have to pass on Friday...Count Chocula is up for grabs.
-
Oh, I love the crazy-face here!
When an artist can do good, unique faces I really enjoy the work much more. From your info, it seems this really captures the spirit!
*ponders creating a character that could benefit from this exaggerated style* -
Sadly I am traveling, so PG's spacesuit will have to wait another day...
-
*waves* Hope everyone is having fun! My craaaazy, craaaaazy week is winding down thanks to headphones full of Jimmy Buffett. If I can pull myself out of my marshmallow state I'll see if I can catch you in-game for Round 2...or maybe 3.

Here's to the Moms who have passed, but will be forever in our hearts.
Love and miss you, Mom. -

Anyway, as much as I appreciate the sticky threads ('cause when I use the search feature I'll use those to start), I like the "same" questions being raised at different points in time. Every OP has a different reason for asking, so the responses tend to be different. Plus, we all learn things over time, and this gives a more open place to test out new thoughts or suggestions before they make it into a sticky. -
Quote:What, not like this one?...while I'm not real picky about the rifle details, I don't want her coming back with a double-barrel shotgun, AK-47 or cartoonesque elephant gun.
But you're right, if there is a detail that is important, like Planet Girl's logo, having that as another item in a reference shot is very useful. I do like the suggestion that if the artist plays you can save your costume and just send the file. I think that would be very handy information to have. -

For Saturday, I'd be in
Planet Girl, of course. (refs in sig, like everyone else around here... >.>)
-
I'd just make sure whoever you work with is someone who understands there will be some "back and forth" about details, since this will be the standard for your character. Don't work with someone who hasn't been willing to make adjustments (several) on a piece. I'd think many artists would understand, but there are enough out there who get bent out of shape I'd check on it up front.

Very nice comission there...Brandon does really nice work, especially the close-ups. And I love your choice of covers for your next commission idea. Some of the most interesting pieces I've seen lately have been cover homage pieces...

Obvious to Christopher Robin...
"Well you may not see it but it's clearly OCR."
You're welcome
Quote:P.S. Hey Planet Girl I was meaning to ask you, I see you in several Bayani pics,
are you of the same mind that you don't want anyone drawing your character?
Yes, for the most part. PG is not nearly as well known, and thus I do not have the same problems the better-known characters around here (and their toons) have. That said, I can be pretty critical of pieces, and prefer to have editorial powers over the, er, "situations" that PG could be placed in. I think female creations tend to get placed in more adult-themed art than I really want for PG. Yes, she is aptly named.
That said, I have had a few people ask beforehand if they could draw her, and I sometimes agree.
And I still think Bayani's "costume" could inspire an "I Spy"-themed game.

And Atto-Girl makes her art debut
Thanks so much for the "touch of color" that defines her.
[Hint: she's the purple haired one that no ones knows]

Still up on the chopping block: Electagonist, ...
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah sorry, life + lack of skillz = really late with this. I hate dealing in MSPaint and stupid etcs. Will likely miss deadline unless I figure out something less [sheesh, censored already...it is late] to get these pics done.

Ok, so maybe that was over-dramatic. Finally got my act together (and found some missing passwords) so I can actually post these.
Original bio for Electagonist: a former hero turned villain. after tapping into the rogue island power supply and a brief possession by the demon Bat'zhul electagonist developed a form of schizophrenia that sees him constantly swinging from an old jaded hero to a twisted criminal with no inhibitions.
Now, I happen to love dual-faceted characters (made one, or two, myself; bonus points to anyone who knows about Cazimi). Since I liked the basics of the background, I decided that the ultimization would actually result in two physical forms for Electagonist one a slightly battered anti-hero, one a demonic form. And so:
Electagonist-1
Electagonist-1 (head)
Electagonist-2
Electagonist-2 (head)
Original 1
Original 2
Original 3
I had fun with this; I hope this was not too pedestrian. And thanks for the PG version...I love the way some of the pieces work together, and plan to use this as a jumping off point for PG's spacesuitI love the re-imagined background (makes more sense than the original
).
