Quote:I definatly planed on doing some acco nights as well. Moonfire is a much more fun way to get the defeat badges for sure. I will plan on including it thanks for reminding me.Sorry for being less active the past couple of weeks, since despite having lots of it for years, I finally received my BS last Friday and have been moving / dealing with family for a bit, with my only playing time going towards trying to get levels on a couple of the non-50s on Infinity.
Speaking of doing TFs for accolades... were there any plans to start Moonfire runs for the Atlas Medallion hunt badges? -
Quote:I like a good SF myself but as masque said the TF's I have been running are for the acco, I'm not sure I would submit myself to the pain of synapse just for levels. If I am loged in when you are on this weekend hit me up maybe we can form up an SF for the fun of it. The tree spec is the current wtf and it's alwas pretty easy to form one of them up.Any event redside? I only play at the weekend but I will like to join SF runs to lv up too.
Look like everything is just happening blue side...
Also thanks to everyone that did the sis tf with me
Citadel this Thursday at 9pm EST -

Quote:4)Alpha Slotting up to T2 is allowed. No level Shifted characters allowed in BC2. If a player is noted to be level shifted in a match, the match will be replayed. If someone slots a T3 or T4 once the match has started that match will be forfeited. No other Incarnate powers maybe used.
Heal Aura ultimate with massive regen boost that lasts two minutes
Pets that cast Fortitude and heal you
Nukes on every character
Barrier shields that buff you to all ends
None of those powers are allowed so no we don't have to worry about those. You can Alpha up to tier 2 and nothing beyond that. -
Quote:Doesn't mean people have to be jumping at the bit to use it either. First power mentioned...just saying.I know how you feel about TK Philly, and as you know its use in leagues has been controversial, however, I think pretending it does not exist or teaching how to counter it would do a huge disservice to anyone who wished to continue on with PvP after Boot Camp.
I know I will deal and shut up but that was litteraly my reaction to that post -

I would agree but modify it to say "care much", because they did care enough to put the respawn timer in and i do know that they where interested to know how it was being done when PvP io's where being introduced ( i will not go into specifics though)
-
No it's a 5 min rep timer that no longer resets if you kill before timer is up.
Quote:I just don't understand how you can AFK farm PVP recipies.
And I know it's probably against the rules to tell me, but if you can farm the recipies, can you also farm the badges? Because I still need the 400 rep badge redside and it is a pain to get the regular way.
I myself have publicly said i do it, the method has been posted many times and you are correct it can be used to "farm" the badge.
Take 2 toons one with a self rez, put them on a tf and have one toon kill the other with an auto power or pet. The trick is just in the timing since there is a 2 min respawn to the hospital timer. -
^^ This is actually the truth
I think I have gotten 2 drops actually PvP'ing one in zone and 1 during a practice match for the first freedom league. That's through 3 leagues and 1 boot camp each that had weekly matches and biweekly practices. -

Depends on the buffs and the situation, for me I will CM those with no mez protection inherent and skip tanks and scrappers, the Fort to Blasters if damage is needed or toons having trouble staying alive for the def or if I am on a team with lowbies i will fort them for +tohit, AB to those having end issues or to the dps toons, shields & sb i try to get on as many as possible, +hp on MM, fender, trollers and blasters (if i have time I check to see if they are HP cap'd. It's very situational for me.

Running Synapse tonight *shudders* starting at 9pm EST
Luckily it's wing night and I will have had at least 1 frozen long island ice tea to make things less painful -

Quote:Of the servers listed only the 7 min raid used nukes and that was pre alpha and incarnates, i can't imagine how fast they could do it now. Sometimes people will fire a nuke for powering through the bloom but it isn't needed to reach that time. The 12 min raids will go lower just with the nature of the incarnate slotting. Lvl shifts and extra buffs, debuffs, and attacks will make the "fastest times" for everything change.This.
And Philly, we've always been on Guardian and Pinnacle, and have no real interest in going elsewhere. We've run with the public in 9 minutes on multiple occasions, and our guild has shaved time off of that. My understanding is that the other servers use Warburg nukes and other temp powers to assist. We don't. So if you don't either, then by all means, well done. We actually have a 5-minute goal, which shouldn't be a problem, provided we get past the lag that has hit with a lot of folks in i20.
If you shave time off of your raids, by all means, send me a message. I'm always curious to see what other servers are doing. -
Quote:Hami itself wasn't triple spawned but it's mito's where this is a result of a failed Zerg raid where they try to skip the mito blooms and directly kill HamiI don't run the Hami raids very often, maybe one every few months. And I'll admit I don't know much about it, I just look for orders and do as I'm told. But it seems to me that someone is purposely doing it. It doesn't take a lot of effort to "spawn" Hami, a team of 8 (especially with the new incarnate stuff and Alpha level shift) could do it pretty quick I'd imagine.
I don't know how easy it is to triple spawn hami, nor do I know how to do it. Again, however, with the new incarnate stuff I'd imagine a team of 8 could easily jackknife the whole thing.
So for example they might have taken out the first bloom of mito's then powered through the 75%, 50% and 25% and then failed to make it the last 25% at that point you have 3 blooms of mito's. -
Quote:I lol'dThis is likely a waste of breath, but I'm going to bother exactly once. After that, you can continue to flash your ignorance for all to see for as long as you like.
You misunderstand. When we voluntarily run the public raids, we gladly welcome everyone, and run it with an efficiency that is unmatched on any server, whether you care to admit it or not. The reason we shuffle the teams is because, as leaders, we need to make sure each team has what it needs to be successful for everyone's benefit. We also need to ensure that the person leading the team actually knows what he or she is doing. We have a number of public folks who fill that role regularly, including Street Stalker, Doctor Bob, Ariel', Lady Bellicose, and a number of different people from the Empire. We don't claim to be elite in that set-up...we're just trying to ensure success by making sure the team set-ups are as good as possible for the overall strat.
What I was referring to, however, was the fact that we raid privately as a guild, and NO ONE gets invited to those, nor are they announced by anyone, whether they have "friends with alts" in the guild or otherwise. That's the way we've always operated, as we like to do such things as a guild only. That kind of thing is not for everyone, just as our guild isn't. And trust me...when we even attempt a 75% takedown of Hami, we have enough people that we don't need many bots to fill the zone. When we don't have that many, we stick to the 50% takedown, which we do regularly.
We don't allow anyone in our guild to lead the raid unless we're sure they're competent to do so, and no one has led one aside from our officers in years. And we "usually take down Hami" when we have a competent leader?!? That actually made me laugh out loud. If you saw us suddenly go to Pinnacle at around the same time this incident happened, it's interesting, since we all remain globally hidden for our guild raids. So if you could see us, we weren't raiding.
First, Sparky hasn't been in our guild--or even in the game--for a couple of years now. Second, if you hear any of the crap that you've said about our guild from people who are actually in my guild, then I need to strengthen the application process, as I don't typically allow blatant liars to become members. But by all means, send me a PM with their names, and I'll be glad to discuss their discontent with them at length. And BTW, it's SOOOO kind of you to "let'em play their own game" considering it's their account and can play however and with whomever they choose. And you call us elite and controlling?!? I will agree with you about one thing, though...if they've been telling you this BS about our guild, I don't know why they are members either.
I couldn't care less what my "rep" is with someone like you. Your only goal in this post seems to be to use it as an opportunity to air some personal greivances you seem to have with my guild, or try to lay enough innuendo to get others to share them. This is especially obvious since the incident Serv posted about was over a month ago, and the one before that is even further back. Posting when nothing else has happened since then reveals your true agenda.
Well guess what...you ain't the first, and you won't be the last. I daresay that our rep is just fine with many of the regulars at the Wednesday night raids who seem to enjoy raiding with us and whose opinions we actually value.
There are far more things I could say to further discredit you, but quite frankly, I'm bored, and doing so would be a further waste of my time. So go, enjoy your own little world. Oh, and if you'd like to participate in a public raid, they're at 9 eastern on Wednesday evenings. Have a nice day!
So when can I expect you to come to other servers and show us your superiority? (also the last raid i led on freedom was 12 min, champion, victory and Justice all can do them in that same time frame, and Virtue has done them in 7min) -

She knows but it's easier to type a bil and most people would understand what she meant.
It's really simple you bid on things that don't exist like lvl 53 IO's bid 2 bil and wentworths takes it out of your inventory and holds it for you. You can claim each email and store it on went worths that way. Or log in multiple toon and claim it on them. And by claim part she means claim 1 of the 3 emails for example. This really isn't a difficult concept...
There is not time limit on active accounts on WW, on inactive accounts it's supposed to be 60 days but i don't think that is working. Email however does go away in 60 days so you want to claim it before then. -
Old school as in Old school legends or as in I PvP'd ages ago?

Quote:I know people seem disapointed with the psi/em choice but honestly it's the one that is most used now for PvP. Dom's, stalkers, and sonic's are more situational. I really would like to stress that it is the prefered blaster/at that's why there was limited spots for the other at's, and your not getting the leftover spot. Thanks M and thanks Philly for posting this.
Sigh...Psi/EM it is
I am sure we will adress different team makeups so I don't want to get into it here but your core team will have and need 3-4 psi/em's for their spike/damage abilities.
Also would like to remind people I will be runing Posi tf tonight 9pm est. For those who have just rolled I can get you to lvl 10 between 8-9pm in time to tf. -
For anyone who might not be able to afford those micro's they can be replaced by 2 run io's and 2 jump io's

For those that couldn't make it last night here is a run down of what was covered:
Opening given by Lin
First and formost the goal is to have fun and to teach the basics of a specific kind of PvP, team arena.
There are various types of PvP in this game: Zone, Duels, team and Base raiding (RIP). Each category of PvP has its own skill set and mechanics and no category is better or above the rest.
Zone PvPers typical build for self sufficiency (ie..pff and aid self, or hibernate) and don't focus on using insp so much as you won't be zoning to your base every time you run out of insp just to reload.
Duelist focus on 1 vs 1 and build their character to also be self sufficient.
While team PvPers create characters that work well together to create situations where a target is removed from play rapidly while giving themselves the best chance as survival by evading till heals can come in from a dedicated healer
The reason we chose team-based PvP is because it gives us the best chance at a controlled environment for people to learn in and work together.
Rules Committee- Flux - talking points:
We set up the rules for a couple of reasons,to prevent people from getting an unfair advantage, because it's a learning environment, and to make sure everyone has fun and enjoys the experience.
Go over rules:
1) Players new to PvP will be only allowed to 1 character throughout the duration of Boot Camp.
2) Vet PvPers and BC1 grads will be able to pick 2 characters to play in this session of BC, if they choose to play a "healer" as one of their characters they will get an additional slot (total of 3 characters allowed).
3) No Purples/PvP IOs will be allowed in Boot Camp2
4)Alpha Slotting up to T2 is allowed. No level Shifted characters allowed in BC2. If a player is noted to be level shifted in a match, the match will be replayed. If someone slots a T3 or T4 once the match has started that match will be forfeited. No other Incarnate powers maybe used. (NOTE: we need to test to see if setting a team match to heavweight (41-46) will remove all incarnate powers, if so we will use this feature)
5) All accolades are allowed.
6) At least 50% of the team must be made up for Players new to PvP.
7) No more then 2 stalkers per round. If two are played one must be a player new to PvP.
8) No more than 1 Taunter per round (Scrapper/Brute/Tank).
9) No more then 2 players with TK maybe used per round. In some cases, teams maybe need to play 3 or more characters with TK in these situations 2 players will be designated as TKers and only they are allowed to use that power.
10) No more then 1 Thermal per round.
Eligibility:
This event is directed at players *new to pvp* so players who have zone experience or duelists may find this event a little slow for them at first, but if they stick with it they might enjoy the team aspect after week 8.
Participants are expected to show some level of dedication or willingness to learn so players who miss two or more meeting/team practices without a valid reason or checking in with their team captain (post week 8) *may* be dropped from their team and /or the event.
Sportsmanship:
The rules committee will not tolerate any form of griefing or harassment of players by participants. People will be warned by private tell if they are felt to be out of line. Major infractions may lead to immediate removal from the event. This will go for in game, on the forums and on vent.
Scouting/balancing committee introduction given by Phillygirl
This group will design teams with relative balance in mind, so that everyone can play on an equal footing and have fun. We *may* rebalance the teams if necessary, so you may find yourself on different teams from time to time.
Everyone did a quick introduction of themselves.
Ideas/check off committee intro given by MP
The basic layout of the event was be talked about: 16 weeks, with breaks for Holidays.
ATs/Powersets that are eligible was stated and signup sheet will be posted.
This group will me monitoring players and if players need additional help with various aspect of the PvP game, we will set them up with either group workshops or 1:1 mentoring with a vet pvper to help them.
Players where welcome them again and tell them the most important thing is to have fun.
The sign up was posted and the slot's for dom's, stalkers and sonic/em blasters have been filled.
For those not on that sheet you can now make your Psi/em blaster. If you contact me or masque we will invite you to the global channel we are using.
It was also stated that many have offered to help with XP acceleration and both myself and Justaris will be running acco and tf teams weekly. These will be announced in the global channel so remember to keep that channel up on your toons.
Above all, this is supposed to be a fun learning experience for everyone. We’re here to answer questions, help each other out, and let people know about a particular part of the game that can be a lot of fun.
Please let any of us know if you have any questions. Welcome!
