Well, turns out the crossfiring a 5870 and a 5850 is impossible here... cuz they were out of stock. So I bought him another 5870... He is setting them up right now.
Will see soon how crossfire 5870s do with Ultra Mode

Posi has already pretty much said that laptops arent really compatable with ultra mode.
I was gonna spend $$$$$ to get one that would play Ultra Mode on Medium/High settings and he said there is not one on the market that will be able to do that. -

I have decided to play on freedom. =) and I have been playing many many differnt at's the past 3 days and I have to say all have their ups and down. I am going to be testing out MM this evning and seeing that it has to offer.
If anybody is on villan side on freedom I will be on a toon that has somthing to do with syfy lol.

If your gfx card power supply and everything else is good, i believe you will be fine with XP.

But your response just bugged me, Yes you dont care about options many folks would like to see, but that doesn't mean its right, many folks still would like to see some those options he listed(costume ones mainly)
So stating the specifics(Costume ones), did bug me a tad. Because more options is always a good thing & always will be.

My husband has a Diamond 5870 ATI card. I want to buy him a 5850 to crossfire with it...
We want to know if the new 5850 has to be Diamond as well? Or could it be any brand name? -

Right now, I can run CoH & CoH Test at the same time, highest setting with no lag. I'm hoping Ultra Mode will allow the same!

If you like PvP play on Freedom server.
If you like to play with RPers and Awesome people play on Virtue.
Virtue is the best server, IMO.

Our next free content update is coming in April with lots of QoL improvements to the game, like a mail system.
Our next paid expansion is coming in July, and there is going to be some EPIC END GAME coming.
(I have 14 controllers, is most fun to play)

My local computer store has already informed me they will have the mid and high ranged Fermi cards starting the day they go live. So I am seriously considering trading in my 295 for the mid Fermi card...
I get that your all about ATI, but really the Nvidia cards I have been using are great. I say that because my husband has the 5870 in his computer right next to mine, and my computer is superior to his... -

In time, when computer parts become cheaper, full Ultra Mode will become more common place. This is a long term plan they have. If they planned specifically for just today, their hard work of updating the graphics would be irrelevant a month from now.
If he is rockin a 9800 he can play minimum settings, if he has lower he wont be able to use Ultra mode at all. The higher up from there the better and more of it you can use.
I am currently debating trading in my 295 for the upcoming fermi... Will I? or Won't I? That is the question. -
I guess I am the only person with all the boxed full games and expansions on my wall as a badge of honor... I personally have 3 versions of CoV, 2 CoH, and all the other boxes they have sold...
