Thanks for the great turnout, Justice! I hope everyone had a good time.
The TTTour's next stop is Liberty server on Tuesday 8/18, as well as TT: classic on champion server Tuesday 8/4.
I believe there might also be a TT next month on Justice as well put on by some justice tanks on 8/11, so there is plenty of Tanker fun in the coming weeks. -
Don't forget, this is tomorrow night. Hope to see all the Tanks of Justice out in force.

TTTour: Justice edition is nearly 1 week away. I hope to see you all there.
We'll meet at the same time/place as usual, just on Justice.
Kings Row near IP gate at 9 pm EST on July 21st.
more info.

Heeeeellooooo, Cleveland!...er, I mean Justice server.
Most(if not all) of you probably don't know me, but you may have heard about Tanker Tuesdays being held on Champion. You may have been to the 3 year anniversary which gathered 500+ Tanks on Champion with some Dev appearances, and numerous contests for prizes, or seen that it won the 2006 Favorite Player-run Event award. Or not. It doesn't matter.
I'm just one of the Tanks that have attended, and helped run it when needed every first Tuesday for 57 straight months.
Well, to make a long story short, we thought it would be fun to hold some Tanker Tuesdays on the other servers. One a month, on the 3rd Tuesday (regular TT is 1st Tuesday on Champion) going in alphabetical order.
**********Important part**********
So, all you Tank lovers please meet up on the wall near the Independence Port Gate in Kings Row Tuesday, July 21st at 9 pm est where we will split into teams to have some all-tanker fun.
********** end important part**********
All levels, and powersets are welcome, as long as you are a Tank.
The only requirement is that you have fun, and take the initiative to attain it. Any Justice Tanks who want to step up, and co-host/lead a team, please do. Just show up, and let us know. The more the merrier. No signup is necessary.
If you want to run a TF, let us know so we can see if others would like to join you, and we'll try to put a team together. We've completed pretty much every TF in the game with an all-Tank team, including STF, and ITF (results may vary ).
We usually try to form the TFs before normal mission teams.
I will probably be doing Synapse since my Tank is only lvl 15 on Justice.
To assist in forming teams, we ask that you hold up the numbers:
1 for levels 1-10
2 for levels 11-20
3 for levels 21-30
4 for levels 31-40
5 for levels 41-50
with the Judge emote (i.e. /em score 10) while standing on the wall. Once picked for a team, please join your team off the wall. It also helps if Tanks with like numbers stand close to each other on the wall.
I might even try to run a Tanking 101 team. For this, please let me know via tell.
I also ask that you join the TankHQ channel(/chanjoin TankHQ) for the event, or longer if you want, especially if you are late. Please let us know through the channel, and we'll do our best to put you on an appropriate team.
If you'd like to learn a little about the history of Tanker Tuesday, while having a heck of a lot o' fun, please run MA arc "Tanker Tuesday: Night of 1,000 Tanks" by AceMACE. Arc#1755
Thanks for listening, and I hope to see all you Justice Tanks on the KR wall on Tuesday for a smashing good time, Tanker style. Be there, or be squishy!
Thanks for listening. -
You are correct, sir!
...and I've almost got Pep Rally:Justice edition up to lvl 15 for a synapse TF run. -
Hey Bert, it's good to see you're still poking around, and not just as an end boss in AceMace's mission architect arc dedicated to Tanker Tuesday.
And, yes, TT still treks on. I even started a TTTour on the 3rd Tuesday every month where we travel to other servers, and try to bring the awesomenessthat is TT to those server's Tankommunity. This month is Justice server.
-
Nice pics, Witty. You always get the best action shots of Pep!
...and don't worry, we'll beat him. It's only a matter of time. -
Without getting into things like "why Hurl AND Laser Beam eyes, but no haymaker?", and trying to use the existing IOs without a major respec, I tried to rearrange a few things to squeeze out some better endurance efficiency.
Just some ideas like putting sets that require more slots to get the set bonuses you want into powers that can use more slots. i.e put more slots into attacks/toggles, and less in passives so you get the set bonuses AND better enhancement(acc/dmg/end redux, etc.) since alot of the enhancement is wasted in passives.

We were going to do it on Virtue this Sunday, there is a lot of interest in it on the scrapper boards so there's been talk of additional teams. If the repair men are unstoppable at the moment though we'll have to call it off for now, not exactly going to be able to take down recluse with his towers up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cool. My scrapper on Virtue just hit 50. I'll keep my eye out for when you guys reschedule. Maybe I can get on one of the other teams. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks everyone thus far, I really appreciate the advice
[ QUOTE ]
I just hope your confront is well slotted with Taunt, and have a Ranged attack to multiply the effect.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is pretty well slotted, is a ranged attack necessary normally?
[/ QUOTE ]
You'll probably be okay without a ranged attack(I forgot the reason for the ranged attack on our all-tank run was because Tanks have gauntlet)... I would have any scrappers with taunt auras turn them off for the fight, though, since they will have these advantages over you for aggro:
a)being in melee > range
b)doing damage
c)taunt aura is another multiplier for threat
Eliminating C would go a long way to making sure you hold aggro.
BTW, what server are you doing this on? -

[ QUOTE ]
When we did the all-tank STF, we used the Ring of Pain temp power on Recluse to keep him from spawning Banes. That kept the confrontation less chaotic/easier. You get it on a low level arc, and it last 10 minutes I think.
[/ QUOTE ]
Would Rise to the Challenge work for that purpose? I'm trying to avoid using any temps if possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
No. It has to be a toggle you put on him like Radiation Infection, Darkest Night, Snow Storm?(whatever the Storm Toggle is), etc.
Your personal defense/offense toggles(Invincible, RttC, Blazing Aura,etc) won't work. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Your confront should have a longer range than her hold so if you keep her at max range you should be safe. I know I only ever get hit with it when we turn the kiting corner ( when I slip into her range )
How do you plan to get passed her 10% per person melee range heal? 7 Scrappers in range = 70% heal = very very long fight
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless I'm misunderstanding, his comments about using Confront from range were to keep her from targeting/healing off the rest of the team while he would be outside of her melee heal range.
[/ QUOTE ]
If we could do this with a team of Tanks, scrappers should be able to kill her even quicker.
I just hope your confront is well slotted with Taunt, and have a Ranged attack to multiply the effect.
Since scrappers don't have gauntlet, the extra damage they do may not make holding aggro from range more difficult with only confront/taunt, but I wouldn't want to risk it. -
Just some thoughts....

Your best bet would probably have an IO'd out for defense Invul scrapper with Tough/Weave tank him at close melee range so he only uses his S/L attacks. But WP can do it.
Aid Self for the taunter, and Aid Other for a second scrapper "healer" would help as well.
Inspirations:
Try to keep your Resistance at 75%, and DEF at 70% as long as you can, especially while Blue, and Red towers are up.
That means Oranges, and Purples. A few Greens if you don't have aid self.
SR's would need more oranges, than purples since they have no real resists. Aid Self very important.
WP's, and Invuls would probably need an even amount.
Regens, I'd probably take all purples, and hope I don't get hurt twice in a row before I can heal...
I hope this helps.

Defenders aren't doing much better.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. Vigilance? Useless when you run solo. Not much better on a team either. You only get a endurance discount when you are filing to keep your team alive.
As for Gauntlet, is seems only to be a label for the tanks' taunt aspect in their secondary set. Pool power attacks don't taunt at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually like Vigilance. I've found the endurance discount pretty noticeable especially at low levels, and on big teams when I need to use my powers the most.
Even having your teammates at an average of 90% health(on an 8 man team)gives you like 46% end redux in ALL your powers, which is pretty huge.
Vigilance discount
I'd love to have Vigilance on my Endurance heavy Tankers. It may be counter-intuitive to a Tankers job, but teammates do get hurt sometimes anyways, especially at lower levels, and that is where tanks could use the End discount the most. -
We're getting there. It Just takes time to travel all the way down the server list. Next month is JUSTICE!

I dont think I can play a Tank or Scrapper after I played my Fire/Fire Brute..
Fury isn't much of a big deal if you're on a good team or solo..
IMO
Once they add the next expantion...why would anyone want to play a Scrapper Blue side??
[/ QUOTE ]
Mostly because IMHO, and many others I'm guessing, feel Fury is kinda a pain to build, and keep. It can be done, but I feel like a slave to the Fury mechanic when playing my brute.
I do like Brutes, but mobs can be spread pretty far out in some missions(caves, offices) when soloing where mobs will often die before you can build decent Fury unless you peck them to death with Brawl/Tier 1 attacks only to have your Fury gone by the next mob.
On big teams, it doesn't always work out that you are the main aggro gatherer where you can survive AND do the bulk of the damage.
I just like the straight ahead approach of Tanks, and scrappers.
On Scrappers, I can kill mobs as fast or as slow as I want to, knowing I'll always do great damage.
Brutes may have a higher potential, but the scrappers, and Tanks may already be at the finish line by the time the brute gets up to speed. -
Anybody remember the That 70's show spinoff, That 80's Show?
I actually kinda liked it, and my favorite character was played by Chyler Leigh. She was the punk rocker name June Tuesday. I $h!t you not.
Well, tonight is June Tanker Tuesday Tour on Infinity. Hope to see some of y'all there.
