  1. Hi all,

Does anyone have some general tips and guidelines for how to slot and enhance pet powers?
I have played CoX for several years, always on non-pet ATs. But now I have a few pet-using alts approaching the levels where their pet powers are available, and I have only a vague idea of how best to use the slots in the pet powers – i.e. what aspects of the power to enhance, how many slots to use, and what IO sets to use.

Some general thoughts and guidelines would be much appreciated, or alternatively specific comments on the following (I fully understand if the latter is too detailed/time consuming for anyone to bother with):
    - Controller/Animate Stone
    - Dominator/Carrion Creepers and Fly Trap
    - Crab Spider/Summon Spiderlings and Call Reinforcements
    - Peacebringer/Photon Seekers

Also worth noting: I would like to use IO sets, but prefer to keep the total budget per character at no more than 150 million inf if possible.

Many thanks in advance to everyone.
  2. Many thanks for that. Those are very useful comments, I will take my old Rad/Rad out of long-term storage and give him another try, now that you have given me those suggestions on how to tweak him.
  3. The thread title pretty much says it all: I am looking for a good influence-and-drops farming mission for a lvl 50 Elec/Fire tanker.

I know that he does great against Freakshow (he resists their damage types very well and they don't resist his fire damage all that well), but my only experience with that is a freakshow farming mission in the AE, which did not give any recipe or salvage drops, only influence.
Is there a mission from one of the regular mission contacts which has a farming-friendly layout and a lot of freaks in it - or some other enemy type which does mostly energy- and S/L damage and which is not fire resistant?

Any advice would be really appreciated - thanks!
  4. One of the first villain characters I made, back in the first few months after CoV launched, was a Rad/Rad corruptor. I have always had a liking for Rad powers in general.
Long story short, I played him up to level 27 and gradually got tired of the slow and squishy-feeling soloing. My damage was nothing special, and my debuffs didn't seem to slow down the incoming damage much at all.

I am back in CoX now after a 3-year hiatus and would like to have another try at the corruptor class - preferably with my old Rad/Rad so that I can at least skip the first 27 levels But before I unlock this old character, I wonder whether this build is so much less soloable than the good powerset combos that I would be better off rerolling him as something else?
My ambition level is pretty low, I have no desire to play at +4/x8, but if I can't at least solo at +0/x1 without too much trouble, it seems a bit silly. +0/x2-3 with a fairly low death risk would be about right for me.

A bit of background information which might help:
    - Although I prefer teaming over solo play, I have two small children in the house and therefore tend to play in 15-20 minute spurts, which is not conducive to good teaming. Hence the need for a soloable build.
    - I am a tier 7 premium player.
    - I have access to IOs but am on a low budget, so for enhancing I am limited to the plain IOs and the cheaper of the set IOs.
    - I do have GR, so if moving this character from redside to blueside would make a difference, I can do that.

    Many thanks in advance!

Then again, Resistance sort of ends at 20 too because you can't call First Ward a Resistance story either. First Ward is an extension of the Praetorian storyline but it really sums up and caps off as "both sides are pretty evil and managed by jerks".
When does the First Ward storyline end, actually? My first-ever Praetorian character is level 26 and has finished Vanessa DeVore's story arc. I did not get a new contact from Vanessa after completing the arc, so it seems like I am done with FW content; but that arc didn't exactly feel like The Big Finish to all the FW content, so I wonder if there is more to come and I just have not found it.
Before calling Marchand and making my departure to Primal Earth I would like to be sure that I am not missing out on more First Ward content. (I have already done my diligence and searched both these fora and paragonwiki for an answer to this, but did not find anything.)
  6. Returning player here, back in CoH after a hiatus since 2008:
Do I understand correctly that one no longer needs to take the Stamina power to have a viable build? If so, that is a huge improvement in game enjoyability since I stopped playing 3 years ago.
  7. One more vote for a Savage Land kind of zone.
