Well I for one would like to thank Avatea and Beastyle for taking the time to organize the event. The OCR team doesn't have to do these type of things, nor do they have to give away booster codes to players. I would imagine that NCsoft would actually prefer that Paragon Studios stop the give-away contests altogether....
Cat Toys (Traps/Assault Rifle Defender) in safari gear, one of the winners on the Freedom server.

Just a head's up Luna, I have an early flight tomorrow morning so I won't be around tonight. I've already let Myrdinn know, but you may need to adjust the team lists accordingly (or not). Have fun!

Quote:Objective Feedback: Beast Run is...okay. Did BAB quit before finishing it and no one else bothered to? It's incomplete at best. Jump around and you'll see what I'm talking about.Feedback is important to our development process, there are two types of feedback and both are helpful although some give us more insight and are more easily adapted into game changes.
Objective Feedback: Objective feedback is based upon what you as a user see or experience that other users may also see and experience. This feedback usually can be replicated easily as it involves facts and unbiased opinions. Example: When using the base editor items are sometimes getting caught in columns or pillars.
Subjective Feedback: Subjective feedback is based upon how you feel or experience the game as yourself. This experience may not necessarily be replicated because it is based on feeling and emotion. Subjective feedback is important to us but it is usually helpful if more information is present to describe what and why you feel the way you do. Example: I like the way the graphics look on my shield animation it gives me the feeling of being truly super-powered.
Subjective Feedback:
- Female monstrous legs are extremely ridiculous looking. Something is wrong with the scaling. I know it's supposed to be based on something like this, but it just doesn't look right when standing upright.
- The heads are all too small at default slider positions.
- You need to add secondary tones to the head options to allow for more customization (CoX is a game built on customization, remember?).
- Can we get some non-snarling faces for Wolves/Cats? The cat heads kind of make me laugh. They can't seem to decide whether they're snarling or smiling.
- Add Animal Fur option to the Flat feet section. Whoever let this out the door should probably have a talking to.

Quote:Ah yes, using a very small group of players who always play together on the same toons every day around the same time is an excellent base for success of new content. It may take them all of closed i20 alpha/beta, but of course they'll succeed at least one time.I also kind of doubt they were trying for well-nigh-impossible either, so the closed testers have likely had at least some success at the trial.
/snark
The 10 second period of time may work in the long run as people get used to following orders and playing with one another (since I believe only a small handful of players will continue to do this Trial after getting the badge I assume will be awarded). However, in the first few weeks on a Live server, it's just going to be fail after fail after fail which will, naturally, cause many of the players to simply give up on the trial altogether (see the Barracuda Strike Force or the Apex Task Force for some).
The timer on the Cathedral of Pain Trial works because the Psionic Resonators have so little Health. A team can take it from 100% to 0% in very little time. An uncoordinated/low damage/low debuffs/low aggro-magnet League/Team/PuG/whatever that cannot keep the two Archvillains within a certain differential margin of Health will never finish the trial due to both Nightstar and Siege having AV Health, Resistances, etc. Add to this the fact that the squishies will be constantly dodging waves of OP'd Victorias and 9CUs (and the turrets), yeah, this is going to be "fun".
Here's hoping I'm wrong. -

Thanks for the update, but I'm getting a load error on one of my builds. The popup window's name is "ReadSaveData Failed" and error reads "Unable to read data - Unable to read beyond the end of the stream." I assume this means that the save is corrupt? Why did it load fine in the last Mids?
If it helps, the character in question is an Electrical Blast/Fire Manipulation/Leviathan Mastery Blaster. -

Sometimes I wish there was a slash command to enter a mission door if you are within range, similar to /requestexitmission....
-
I've always assumed that was Blue Steel in a disguise. The Phalanx members are just there to learn from the best.

Yay, thanks for the auto sign-up! Agony's Mind/Thorns btw. Not that I use the thorns all that much anyway, but there ya go.

I have family coming into town Saturday afternoon, but I would think they'll be gone by the time this starts. Put me down as TBA (iffy) just in case though.

Currently happening to me as well, but wasn't happening earlier today on the same character. I have 0 new contacts since I last logged in/opened the contact window, so something else may be causing it. The character in question is level 19. Going to try rolling back, but it's odd that this didn't happen earlier, but is happening now.
Contact list: Newspaper, Golden Roller, Dean John Yu, Father Time
Verified freezing: 10.12, 11.1
Rolling back to 10.9 appears to have fixed the problem (for now at least). Annoying that I have to lose auto-Overscan just to play City of Heroes..... -
Hmm, sign me up on Paragon's War (Nova-form Warshade).
-
The four toons I have that are currently level 39 are:
Hatake Asuna: Bane Spider
Paragon's Fury: Martial Arts/Shield Defense Scrapper
Paragon's Death: Dark Armor/Electrical Melee Tanker
Stray Kitty: Human-form Warshade
The Bane will be a Rogue, but pick whichever one you think we'll need. -
I'll be there on something the team is lacking.
-
In case anyone cares, here's a screen shot of the [Return to Battle] pop-up. Right-hand side is the same box scrolled to the bottom.

Quote:Pre-IOs, I agree. With soft-capped typed defenses from IO bonuses however, I think some Invulnerability Tankers are actually more powerful now than pre-ED. But that's getting off topic.I like to think that (Issue 1 of City of Heroes Vol. 2) Recluse's little trick did not return heroes back to their original power levels. To me I think it gives a good explanation for an old conversation which I will not say(The great Nerf), and thus we are no where near the level of Superman.
IMO (all at the exact same threat level, ie IDF are not level 54 while Longbow are 50): Malta > IDF > Arachnos > Vanguard > Longbow
Yes, I introduced Malta into the equation. Sue me. -
Minigun vs. superhero: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLN3dPMyXeg
Yes, it's Supertwink, er, Superman. However, in the world of City of, Supertwink is an Invulnerability/Super Strength Tanker. There are dozens if not hundreds of similar characters running around the streets of Paragon City or the Rogue Isles every day. Why did the armies fall to the Rikti? They thought they could use bullets against super-riktihumans. -
Part 8 (the mission with Mother Mayhem and Malaise) of the revamped Maria Jenkins' arc "A Hero's Epic" is entirely Seers. Makes for a quick badge once you get to it.... >.>

Sign me up on a Blaster, not sure which one I want to bring yet though.
-
I'll be on Random Button Hero (Elec/Shield Scrapper) tonight; he needs the respec. Note that this toon is on my 2nd account (@Infi).
-
Just giving you a head's up that I might not be there Wednesday night. I have a prior event IRL scheduled for 5 PM central, but I doubt it will take 4.5 hours+. Anyway, if I'm not here, you know why.

Thank you for everything you've done with City of in the last 5 years. CoV, Willpower, Shield Defense, Dual Pistols, proliferation, even the attempt at PvP rebalance. Everything. The game probably won't be the same without your insight into the math behind it all. I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.
P.S. Thank you for never adding Heal aggro to the game. The lack of such a thing is one of the reasons I love City of...
