Quote:Yep. This one drives me crazy. It appears that you can no longer 'hard' select a category of items to view, like in the old interface. If you click on Recipes for example, all it does it autofill the search window with the word Recipes. If you then click on the search window and try to type something in, it replaces Recipes (or whatever) with what you type. It then searches the entire database using whatever term you type in, and will display Recipes, Enhancements, Inspirations, whatever, that matches your search.Another bug found though. When I search for enhancements by name, the recipes show up also.
If this is WAI, this is a horrible change to the market interface, and seriously affects market functionality. -

Quote:I've got this issue, I'm running an ATI 5750 card, and I attempted to follow the instructions in the link. Unfortunately, the "ATI HotKey Poller" that the link mentions, doesn't seem to exist on my system.

Positron: We are looking at the problems in the markets very carefully and want a good, working, feasable, not exploitive, not still broken somewhere, fun, easy to understand, logical, solution. -

Quote:Must be a Freedom thing.. I would guess I get about an 80% response rate when I send out tells, even if it is just to decline.Yes im already on the Freedom global channel, i try to make up teams, and i send tell to everyone(99% just ignores it
Quote:the only thing i think im doing wrong is that i only get people close to my level, i am lvl 23 so i try to get at least people from 20 to 25
maybe i should start inviting people at lvls 15+? -
Quote:This has always worked for me. Even on 'low' population Protector, I can get a redside team going at almost any time, just by sending out politely worded tells to players that aren't on teams. Just look for the players whose names are blue on the team search screen. If their names are gray, it means they are already on a team. The "Looking for team" message defaults to grey/Not Looking. Most people never change it. Send a /tell to them, they may surprise you. If they say "No thanks", just shrug and move on.
I rarely ever do it myself, but lots of players have good luck sending tells to other players that are already on a team and asking if they have room for one more. That's another potential option for those who just can't stand forming a team themselves. -

Quote:That depends on how you go about trying to find a team. Its just me or its alot harder to form groups in the villian side?
I play on freedom and idk if its only bad luck but finding a team in the red side takes alot more time then Heros side
There is a real difference btw the 2 or its just me?
Are you running around yelling 'LFT' in broadcast? This is generally the worst way to go about it.
I've found that if you use global channels, have an active friends list, and are willing to form your own teams, that there are no problems with teaming on either side, on any server. -
I've resorted to just using a mix of generic IO's and frankenslotting common set IO's when playing redside. Or should I say, TRYING to frankenslot common set IO's. Sometimes it takes a week just to buy a basic yellow set recipe that would be vendor trash blueside..

Quote:Find it 'funny' if you want. All I can say, is that at this point, I'm planning on moving every single vill to the blueside market. All my in-game friends are planning the same. The "exodus to blue side" posts are always funny, especially when quoting the state of the redside market (I personally can buy everything I want I don't know what you people are doing wrong) considering your average player probably doesn't care about the state of the redside market...
Why would I stay stuck with the anemic BM, when I can use WW, and still access all redside content by playing as a Vigilante? -

Quote:Since VEAT's are redside AT's, I'm going to point out that the redside AT's do not fall into 'defined roles' at all. They all fill multiple roles, some better than others. The other ATs have defined roles like tank, melee damage, ranged damage or support.
Brutes can provide melee damage and tank.
Corruptors are ranged damage and support.
Dominators are a mixture of control, ranged and melee damage.
Masterminds can be a mixture of ranged damage & melee damage combined with buffs/debuffs and the ability to tank if built for it.
Stalkers are the only ones which have a somewhat narrowly defined role: Melee damage.
VEAT's are just another multirole AT. In the most basic sense, I would call them a combination of damage (melee or ranged) combined with team support buffs. -
Quote:I think I'll join you in the padding!Don't mind me folks, just padding my post count. Seems to be more productive than responding to the OP.
Perhaps the OP is right, and no one actually plays the game anymore, and all the other "players" I'm constantly teaming with on my 'dead' server are really just a series of sophisticated bots added to the game by the dev team to make it look like there are still actually players.
Or maybe I'm not even an actual person either, and a forum bot is really making this post.
Damn.. What if the devs have actually been replaced with bots themselves, and no is even working at Paragon Studios anymore either??!?!?! -
Quote:Keep in mind, I don't like Devices. I won't play it, no matter the primary, because it doesn't suit my playstyle. I'll agree with you that Devices needs to be looked at. Now, having said that, I find it amazingly hypocritical of you to post a thread complaining about the weakness of AR/Dev and saying it is not 'viable', then going on to talk about how you solo on x8 and farm the wall in Cimerora. That just does not compute. There are many blasters, scrappers, and brutes that can't solo well on x8.So people know. I do have Gaussian build up proc. I do have a stealth IO in my Super speed. I do have a KB Proc in my Buckshot. Solo it is pretty cool running him. I run 0 +8, I do the wall in Chimera. But then again Solo any toon is okay since it does not matter how long you take to kill mobs.
It makes about as much sense as a player saying their Illusion/Radiation controller is not 'viable' or 'team friendly' because they don't do as much AOE damage as a Fire/Rad controller on teams, while happily running off and soloing a bunch of AV's & GM's. Some combinations are stronger teamed than solo, and some are stronger solo than they are on teams. That doesn't mean they don't all bring something to the table.
Quote:Yesterday I was asked 3x to stop using KB, the last time I explained in tell I was only using KB powers when I knew the damage would kill them out right and if 1 or 2 were left alive by chance I would make it my job to clean up my mess. They just didn't care.
Quote:I eventually just left the team politely
Quote:and switched toons in disgust.
Quote:I have 24 powers and was stuck using Full Auto, Flamethrower and Gun Drone.
On fast teams, the vast majority of the powers used on my AR/EM are Full-Auto, Flamethrower, Buckshot & Boost Range. That's pretty much it. Add in an occasional Build-Up when it's recharged and I actually remember to hit it. If the team is moving a little slower, I'll go into blapping mode and start using the Pom-Poms of Doom™. In fact, out of AR, the only other powers I have are Bean Bag and Burst.
I think you'll find with a fairly large number of powerset combinations, that a relatively small number of powers are used constantly, and the majority of them end up only being used occasionally when the right situation presents itself.
Here's my suggestion to you: Strip your AR/Dev if you have anything valuable in it, and reroll it as AR/EM. It'll be much more productive (and fun) that waiting around for Devices to get any buff love from Castle. -
I would just like to point out that those 3 TF's, were essentially driven into the ground PRIOR to the introduction of merits by speed teams running them over & over & over again multiple times per day since they gave exactly the same reward as every other TF in the game. My personal opinion, is that now that the activities of the speed players are more evenly distributed across a much larger number of tasks, that their overall effect on rewards is going to be negligible. The fact that there have been only minimal reductions to one or two TF's/SF's since merits were introduced backs this up.
-
That's pretty much what this senseless arguing comes down to. It simply highlights the usefulness of damage boosting powers like Aim & Build-Up for a blaster. 90% of complaints regarding AR/Devices would go away if Devices was given some type of damage boosting power. You don't really hear any complaints from Fire/Dev, or Energy/Dev blasters, because they have Aim in their primaries, which AR lacks.
Provided the Fire blaster uses Aim and Build-up every time it is recharged, they will pull ahead on damage. If the Fire blaster isn't popping Aim/Build-up, their advantage evaporates.
Give it a few months and all the "OMG! AR/Devices sux!" threads will be replaced with "DP/Devices is teh suxxorz!" threads. -
So, is there even a single TF or SF that has had its merit rewards reduced since the introduction of the merit system? If there isn't, I would say that the supposed effect of the speed runners is not nearly as large as some think.
-
I'm afraid I don't play enough redside SF's to have really noticed any imbalance in reward rates. The few times I have played them, it's generally been with the same group of players I run blueside TF's with. Based on my limited experience, the redside SF's did seem shorter than blueside TF's, and equally able to be moved through quickly. I've only done a couple LRSF runs, but none of them took hours to finish or involved having to spend time acquiring Shivans, Nukes, or a perma Mind Dom. The one time I was on a Silver Mantis SF, we completed in 1:20 without any particular effort, with only 4 players on the team, and two of us (me being one of them) had never done it before.
