Positron has said he has no objection to this kind of mailbox feature.
It's just a matter of getting a round toit.
Could even be in issue 14. -
I think the difference would be that users of the Titan site are perhaps more "hard core" than the average player, and thus able to make a more informed judgment.
-
Just make sure you give a couple of the AVs malta Sapper powers. And maybe make the others do psi damge and -def.
-
Well, I stand corrected. Can't argue with Dilbert.

Being in marketing, you clearly believe in selling people tripe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you please try , just try to avoid making insulting coments like this?
[/ QUOTE ]
It wasn't intended as an insult. The marketing people I know pride themseleves in thier ability to sell snow to eskimos. -
[ QUOTE ]
I happen to believe that plenty could be done to circumvent that happening regardless (within reason) just how good CO is. But they havent done it.

From my point of view, if CO is a much better product, then it would be an altogether good thing for people to switch to the superior product.
[ QUOTE ]
That's a point for the CO thread but they seem to be listening and improving
[/ QUOTE ]
Certainly seems to be true. The graphics certainly seems much improved. But it is still very light on real content, bug ridden, and with appalling button mashing gameplay. All these things can be fixed, but the can't be fixed quickly. -

If i was on the board at Cryptic I would be delighted at the (non) response NC have laid out in anticipation of CO. I really would
[/ QUOTE ]
One of the things they have promised (at some point, in Jack years) is player created missions.
No wonder NC isn't letting anything slip.
[/ QUOTE ]
MA is basically a response to COs archnemesis sytem. In CO you can create a villain, choose his look and powers, but you can't choose his minions, or write his story or dialogue. as well as other things, MA will let you create an archnemesis, with powers and costume, and choose his minions, and write his story, and write his dialogue. -

And we (and the outside media) know less about that than we do about games that havent even exited (or started) closed Beta yet. Great.
[/ QUOTE ]
Speek for yourself.
For those left out of the loop, they are keeping thier powder dry for when it will have the biggest impact, I.e. about 1 month before CO goes live (as near as they can guess).
[ QUOTE ]
I meant a super hero affectionado.
[/ QUOTE ]
Who make up a relatively small proportion of the playerbase.
[ QUOTE ]
if Warhammer, a non superhero game can do that what can a new (assume reasonably good) superhero game do?
[/ QUOTE ]
Very little. WAR is an excellent game. Reasonably good simply won't cut the mustard. Of course CO could be excellent. In which case CoX is doomed whatever they do, and we end up with a better game to play. More likely, it will bomb, based on what I'm hearing from beta, unless they take another 6 months minimum to get it right. -
It could be 4gig, I'm getting old, and loose track of such things. I remember when whe had to make do with 1K.

Why wont the just accept the servers aint working lol
[/ QUOTE ]
Because the servers are working. If the problem was with the severs it would look very different.
What is kapput is the net infrastructure near the datacentre in germany. -
I have 4meg, don't really get a whole lot of lag on that mission, but I wouldn't have any objection to reducing the number of mobs.
I believe the biggie is actually the patrols though, because they run AI scripts even when the players aren't around. -
[ QUOTE ]
but the third mission is still super laggy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not if you play on a PC with lots of RAM. -

. Even if tiny 0.1% of arcs would be any good, that's still dozens, maybe hundreds of good ones. Finding them might ber a problem though, look at any fanfiction site...
[/ QUOTE ]
Arent we able to give the missions a grade?
[/ QUOTE ]
Only thumbs up or thumbs down. -

There's nothing wrong per se with the MA. On the face of it it's a great idea.
But the bottom line, to me, is making it the companies major thrust on the eve of its first direct competition coming out is a major mistake.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not though, is it. Issue 15, the big story advancing issue, is the one that will come out on the eve of CO.
Not that CO is really the "first direct competition". You only have to look at the big drop in numbers when WAR was released to see that. -
Not directly true, purples no more enhance the magnatude of a hold than any other enhancement.
However, there is a proc in the Lockdown set which has a chance of +2 mag hold. You can also slot Char with Devistation Chance of Hold which also stacks with your base hold.
Apart from that, slotting your mezzes with as much recharge and duration as possible and spamming them is your best bet for overcoming roman mez protection.
On the ITF though, you are probably best forgetting about trying to mez the romans and focus on buffing your teammates. -
Yes, a fire/kin controller is certainly useful on the ITF, but they have to be smart enough to adapt thier tactics to the situation.
-
Yes, once you get into SO levels, the levels where you gain enhancement slots give a significant boost to power.
I think a good case could be made for making low level enhancements less feeble though. -
Likewise.
Certainly, the MA will not interest 100% of players, but niether does PvP, and look how much time they have wasted on that over the years (to the effect of ticking off practically everyone). Badging, or collecting IO sets are also optional activites that not all players are interested in.
One thing to note though, whilst MA missions do not carry the same rewards as some other missions, they do have thier own rewards. Most notably, badges. A lot of badges. Badgers are going to be very busy making and playing MA missions. -
Yes, the Blind sleep effect is indeed a pet.
That's why slotting it with the sleep set Heal proc doesn't heal the caster. -
Oh, BTW, the swine have something else, not related to the archetect, but possibly related to Godwin, and someone not seen since before the game started.
-
They can. And that is the most likely thing in the short term.
-
If they try to move players to the US without character transfer, then I don't think it will be just most of the EU players they will loose. I wouldn't be suprised if quite a few US players also quit in protest, possibly even a dev or two. Not to mention the numbe of people who would swear never to play another NCSoft game.
I think it's an unlikely scenario though. -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok, question; WHY is it only the Americans who get into Closed Beta anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
1) They only need a small number of testers. Most Americans arn't in closed beta either.
2) They can use the other test server to test emergancy fixes for issue 13 builds. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh my, the swine have been very vocal about Mission Architect... I'm not sure how much of their information I should share, though. I'll try to be minimal:
- 3 published arcs maximum
- Unlimited unpublished arcs
- Architect Tickets (similar to Merits) awarded at end of mission, based on enemy defeat and objective completion
- Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame can free up published arc slots
- Only earn progress on Architect badges while playing Architect missions
- Customizable enemy groups
- Allies, Ambushes, Combating factions, Special bosses, Glowies, Defeat all on map, Defeat all in room, Defend item, Destroy item, Escorts (lead hostage to mission entrance), Patrols, Rescue (free hostage and they leave on their own)
- Boatloads of badges

Is NCWest wholey owned by the korean parent company though, or do they just own a controlling share?
