People where making bad presentations long before PowerPoint was invented. See: Flipchart, OHP. Blame the speaker, not the tools.

And it's the ab-use of this kind of software that allows students to produce some interesting stuff. Even weak students can make animated comics, for example.

The standard web format is linear. Presentation software allows a non-linear approach to be used. Again, this is not a new idea. Mind maps have been around for a long time. Which people prefer depends on their learning style. Since pretty much any class will include a range of learning styles, you need to include a range of different presentation techniques.
  2. I don't think this is really comparable. I expect Mandarin will be used like Blofield in the early Bond films, just giving out orders to minions from behind the scenes.

In this case, I would guess that Iron Patriot (as a henchman of Mandarin) might be used to attack Chinese* targets, in an attempt to both provoke conflict between the US and China and the US and Tony Stark.

*Iron Man 3 is a Chinese co-production and is known to use Chinese locations.

The issue is making sure someone who doesn't want to build for defense is a viable option, which, if absorb works as described earlier, would only be viable if Res > Regen > Absorb.

Also the reason they should create a chat feature (Not expensive because I assume they have web design staff on their books, and probably easy enough to find open source code for anyway. And even if it is expensive
It's VERY expensive. They would have to hire full time moderators as well as all-new web software. Personally, I would rather the money be spent on game content.

    Quote:
it should be considered worth it seeing as a forum subscription is part of a VIP subscription and thus technically revenue generating. But then by extension why are they bothering to have a forum at all because that is equally as expensive) is because it puts the feature at the heart of their community and has everything all in one place, which was the point of websites in the first place.
The point of html websites was so you could navigate around the vast quantity of information on the internet easily by clicking hyperlinks. NOT so you only ever go to one place. You don't need the internet at all for that.

Also I like the 'chose not to' because it is another example of how the 'choices' they make are getting further and further away from what I used to enjoy about this game.
I personally don't like information in the form of video or audio. But I don't insist that only the forms of media that I personally like should ever be used.
  5. You don't need to give anyone any personal details to see prezzi.

And yes, the could have used old words and pictures. They chose not to. What difference does it make?

And rather than create a live chat feature on their own website they again use external websites that not everyone has access to, meaning to participate I have to give me personal details to yet another company.
Why create (an expensive) something, when that something already exists for free?

It's like saying: I can make oxygen in a lab, so why should I have to go outside and breath free air that might have already passed through other people?

The summery of the pummet is created on presentation software that requires the use of that website.

This forum software CANNOT display the information in that format.

But I fail to see the difference. The info is there. You can find it via the official site. Why is clicking a link so painful?

That is all that needs to be understood to know that combining the imagery of Iron Man and Captain America in one person is going to instantly draw a particular kind of positive reaction from the public.
Sure. The public will assume it's the same guy.

But it's not going to draw a positive (or ignore) reaction from Steve Rogers.

And it's not going to have zero impact on how the public react to the real Captain America in CA2.

Thus, it becomes a significant part of Cap's arc.
  8. I don't know about a solo movie, but I do think the gender balance of the Avengers needs to be addressed. Black Widow is not only just 1/6, she is also much less superpowered than most of her male teammates. (Or, in terms of Sky High: SIDEKICK!!!)

The list linked in the OP looks pretty strong, much stronger than a similar list put together by IGN.

But it's still hearsay/rumour, leaving Cap's status in the air. Something you would expect to be addressed in CA2, but someone turning up using that iconography forces the question to be addressed in IM3.

And what is Steve going to do when he sees that outfit on the TV?

It certainly matters if it's "the same guy or not" when some other guy, presumably villainous, starts running around in a very similar outfit.

Not really. The only interviews and the wall painting where Tony Stark/Iron Man. Whilst there where some brief news footage of Captain America, I don't believe there was any official identification, so as far as the world knows it could have been anyone in that costume. And the cop he spoke to had no idea who he was, despite the uniform.

That requires some work with the CA story to work though. IM3 is the first film after Avengers. So does the world know CA is back following events in The Avengers, and what is his status? This will need to be addressed in some way if someone is going to show up using his iconography.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it would make IM3 a CA story as well as an IM story.

    REVAMP EM set

    I play /EM tanker.

My main objection is the tier 9 (Total Focus) is basically the same as the tier 8 (Energy Transfer) - only NOT AS GOOD.

Now I have incarnate level recharge I have dropped Total Focus all together. (yes, I know it has more stun, but since I'm unkillable anyway, who cares?)

    Medicine pool

Yes, everything said about Medicine also applies (with bells on) to the Fighting Pool. I tested that when it was on beta as well.
  14. For people who have seen the recent movies but not read the comics, I can't help thinking they will think Iron Patriot looks like Capt. America's outfit.

Intentional or poor judgement? Time will tell.
  15. I think we may see patron pools sort of phased out, replaced by purchasable pool powers.

    Here.
  17. Seems Iron Patriot is merged with "Coldblood-7".

Proliferation of the Iron Man suit tech seems likely to be a theme in the movie series, with Extrimis being a way to maintain Tony Stark's uniqueness.

Certainly. And they can (and probably do) pick up Aid Self at level 14. But getting it at level 4 puts them ahead of sets for whom self healing is the main feature.

Hmm, maybe an Archery/ Corruptor? Twig blast!

All information from the Pummit has been made available. Which is basically the name of the set and the names of the powers.

But no information on what the powers actually do has been officially announced. Which means only naughty people have any idea.

Depends what you are using it with. One of the intentional balancing weaknesses of SR is lack of access to a self heal. However (and I tried this myself) it's pretty easy to get near the def cap on an SR tank even at low levels, especially if you also have a Parry type ability.

If you are doing incarnate content you probably have plenty of heals anyway and won't have any advantage, but at low levels the survivability is massively ahead of anything else.

I would love to have seen this testing because I can't think for one minute how it messes with balance that much. Most min/maxers already have it, and everyone else doesn't have the capped defence needed to take proper advantage.

I also assume this test was a while ago before they buffed Energy Aura?
I think it was about the same time as the fixed energy aura. It was at the same time as they made travel powers available at level 4 and increase travel powerr pools from 4 to 5.No, the power wasn't buffed.

For level 50+ content, no, it doesn't affect balance much. however getting it at level 4 (along with Tough) made significant changes to how defensive sets balanced in the 4-30 range. Also, making those powers cost one power pick instead of two changed them from being powers many people took to powers EVERYONE took. The only way to fix that would be to have a lot more decent pool powers to compete with them.
  24. But surely a real life zombie apocalypse would mean that movie logic had also invaded the real world.

In which case a large, well prepared, heavily armed community is surely doomed, and a lone human with a knack for improvised weapons most likely to survive...

I've read the stories, and I can't see that much resemblance, apart from the name. The CoH character is female, dim, spoiled and vain, and starts as a Hero. The C.K. Chesterton character is male, highly intelligent, a bit spoiled and vain, and starts as a Rogue, eventually becoming a hero as a result of Father Brown's intervention.
